I Will Make A Honest Man Out of You Yet (abandoned)

"Here you go, 1000g as we agreed on", spoke Borgus as he handed a homeless looking man a sack of coins. In the acolyte's right hand was his tome of light and several deeds to lands scattered across the region. With Borgus' black market doing well back in Bern the Acolyte had coin to spare. Coins to spear equals out to either excess drinking, spending, or simply hording of gold. However Borgus was never a man for either of the two. He was always one who looked out for the future. He had his own plans and his own goals. Pulling in a little money from selling weapons illegally and extorting business was not his goal. Borgus knew that his criminal activity only had two possible endings. The first was a very long time in a prison cell and the second was a quick and most certainly painful death. Either one of the two he did not have a desire for.
Instead of using his gold to indulge himself in carnal pleasures like his other associates Borgus took his ill gotten gains and threw them toward investment projects. The acolyte had already open a book store in Bern near a Ilian garrison and built a theater in the center of a city guarded by tall walls. Now he was looking outside of Bern for big business. It was then that he thought about the Lycian situation and immediately he gained a idea. If he went west and bought up all the land that once surrounded Ostia once the plague had ended he would be one of the most wealthiest land owners in the region. With no end to the undead threat in sight and people desperate for coin Borgus knew they would be easy pickings.
With pockets lined with gold and a strong fist Borgus began to work on his newest scheme. The Lycians had never seen a bandit like him. He did not come with a axe or a sword, but with promise of gold and honey words. When that failed he would switch tactics and use his fist to negotiate a suitable price, which was far below the value of the land before the undead came along.
