Emily Fein
Class: Squire
Age: 16
Born in: Etruria
Appearance: Standing at 5ft 4 she is fairly short. This does not hinder her however as she still dons armor. Her appearance is comparable to a Valkyrie’s with long golden hair that is rather straight cut and functional but stylish armor. It covers her torso in full and by her waist it comes outward like that of a dress but does not hinder her. Atop her head is an armored tiara with blue tassels just before her ears. While dressed for combat her hair is held back by a turquoise hairpin, a flashy piece and memento of her late sister. It has a fanlike design with three points that curve inward twice. She has blue eyes that shine with passion and innocence but can be equally sharp and intense in equal measures.

She carries with her a sword and a spear. The spear was given to her by a local smith and is a plain weapon that serves its function. Her sword however was presented to her by the church for her quest. It is however a broken blade. The hilt is made of silver with a black leather wrapping over the pommel that is lined with gold. A ruby is fastened into the end of the hilt and at the base of the blade is a hole where a gem, long pilfered, used to rest. The remaining shards are still together on her person but only about 8 inches of functional sword remains.
Her gear once belonged to an inquisitor for the church long ago and has since been kept in safe keeping since her death and rise to sainthood. The church gave it to her when she spoke of her dreams and upon realizing that the armor fit her perfectly. Her quest is kept secret by the sect for now but there is much skepticism.
Personality: She could be described as a Zealot. She could be described as a heretic. To Emily the church and the teachings of Saint Elimine are her life but she believes wholeheartedly that Saint Elimine came to her in a dream that called into question the Prophet. As such she has taken it upon herself to find the truth.
Her force of personality is surprisingly strong. She is soft spoken yet surprisingly abrasive. She is deliberate and careful in all her decisions and never strays from her teachings for better or worse on her health. She does not think money a concern of hers and travels barebones relying instead on the good nature of those she aids to help supply her divine quest. No matter what others say she has no doubts about her mission.
Unlike Vincent she holds no qualms in delivering justice even if it should mean killing another man. In her eyes not to root out evil in all forms and crush it is to invite more wickedness to be born. She has no experience with swordplay and unlike Vincent is not a natural genius at the art, though she would do her best to cover that fact.
Unable to afford a mount she walks the roads for miles at a time but does not mind it. Her quest comes before her comfort. That is not to say that it would be unwelcomed however.
Story: Emily was raised in an orphanage with her elder sister Ophelia. The two stuck together at all times and were inseparable. The living conditions were harsh however as there were too numerous children left homeless by war. Food was scarce and close quarters living saw disease spread. Emily was always sick as a child but put on a brave face for her sister. She may have been the younger but the support for each other was all but one sided.
She was 6 and her sister was 8 when Emily had her first “prophetic dream.” She dreamt of a man who was sick and dying from a horrible disease. It was strange to her as she had never met this man and the dream terrified her. Within that same month members of the church came to the orphanage and there she saw him, the man from her dream. He was kindly but old and coughing into a handkerchief frequently.
As if compelled by the saint herself she felt a need to tell this man of her dream. She told him of what she saw and he listened. When she mentioned seeing darkness in his lungs that would overflow killing him he knew there was something here. How would such a young girl attain such insight into his condition? Within the week the man took her into the church feeling a great destiny before her, though taking her meant taking her sister as well and soon the two were raised in the church.
Within the next six months the man died as Emily had predicted. He was gone but the two were now in a better life. They were educated and Ophelia was taught how to heal with a staff. Emily had no talent for it but dove into the scriptures and read anything she could get her hands on.
The siblings welcomed the coming of the Prophet believing that he would bring a great light to the world but alas it was not meant to be. The fervor of the people continued to grow and yet hostilities were waged upon him with dissent and rebellion from the masses. Many in the church believed this to be a sign of his legitimacy and all the forces of darkness were out to see him defeated and they rejoiced at his every victory and continued survival.
Then Ophelia passed away one night. It was sudden and unexpected. The doctors could not determine the cause of death and to the knowledge of those close to her she was healthy. Emily took it hard but also used it as a time to renew her vows to the church.
Sometime later she would have her second dream. In her dream she saw fire and cities burning. First was Otia and then Sacae, soon Illia and bern collapsed under the weight of their own selves as well as Etruria. She witnessed the spread of the Prophet’s influence but instead of glory she smelled nothing but ash and blood. When she woke the scent remained and she was in a cold sweat. To her this was a sign from Elimine.
The next day she told the head monk of her dream and he growing fearful and concerned of what was to come told her to take the armor of the lady Fein and seek the truth for herself. Unlike most he believed in the dreams of the girl and felt that if he was wrong she would return with a new devotion but if he was right? Gods help them all.
