It seemed that bloodshed was imminent. One of the axe wielder came at her, weapon drawn and ready for attack. Was she scared that such a brawny man was coming at her? Absolutely. No matter how many times she get into a fight, her possible death was always frightening. Yet she knew better, her hand didn't tremble, there was no time for hesitation.
As soon as the man was within her blade's range, she attacked, moving steadily forward. The blade cut exactly where she had aimed, the perfect spot between the muscles and bones. The head soon fell and rolled a bit, before coming to a stop. She kept on moving though, towards the other man as she sheathed her blade. They had their chance to run, but now she had to make sure they wouldn't go about spreading any rumors.
Thankfully the so called leader was a coward. Seeing the skill with who they picked their fight against, he made a run out of there. He soon found himself falling face first into the foliage, a throwing knife in the back of his leg. Drawing her bow, she took out one of the arrow and took aim.
"Stop this!!!"
The voice and order rang in her ears. She turned around to look back into the cave. It was Riviera who said this. She hesitated for a moment, but not long enough for the man to scramble away. Did he beg and plead for his? She couldn't tell from the rain and thunder. Drawing back the deadly arrow, she released, piercing through the man's back. She wasn't an expert shout, but the arrows in the bow made it a lot easier. Slowly approaching, she bent over and took the throwing knife back and ripping the arrow out. She didn't want to waste anything after all. It seemed as though Tiz was doing well in his own way, seeing as he had kept one of them off her back.

"Stop this!!!"
The words came as a shock to Tiz, something he hadn't expected, and it caught him off guard. It gave the axe-wielder a chance to strike, and Tiz only barely blocked the blow with this blade, still suffering a nick to his hand as the axe slid down the length of his blade. He pushed back, hard, to counter him, but having missed his opportunity, Tiz was only able to avoid a lethal blow. He jumped back, and caught Jya killing one of them, causing the other to flee. He had no idea what was going on.
As he was watching the two around him, the axe-wielder, who did not immediately flee, struck again. Tiz sidestepped the blow, coming back at the man with forward piercing might and great speed. He got the man in his stomach, but it didn't seem to faze him. He laughed, grunted, and pulled the blade deeper into his stomach to trap Tiz. Letting go of his sword to avoid being decapitated by the axe, Tiz rolled forward and around the man, using his own momentum to trip and then disarm the man by grabbing his arm and pulling it around to the side. He dropped his axe and fell on Tiz's blade. Tiz quickly rolled the man over, pulled his sword out, and by the time he had, Jya had already finished the last one with an arrow.
What had happened? Tiz sheathed his weapon and looked to the back of the cave. This other woman, never mind Jya, was incredibly confusing. Wasn't she a mage? Couldn't she fight? Tiz was a bit agitated that she didn't lend any aid, but he wasn't about to confront her about it. Perhaps she was afraid, he though. Taking a life was no easy task... Although Jya made it seem easy. He looked over and met her gaze. She was powerful. Scary powerful.
"Hey, uh.." Tiz slowly approached the scared mage with his hands rasied, as if he were surrendering. "Is everything... is everything okay? Are you alright? They're gone now, all dead. You don't have to be afraid."

Riviera crawled backward when Tiz came to her. Tiz wouldn't hurt her but she was too panicked to realize that fact. Gripping her tome tightly, she looked at the bloody scene with terrified expression and tears gathering in her eyes. Those men were dead, killed by Tiz and Jya. And if things had gone wrong, it would have been her and her companions who had suffered death. There was no way she could forget these scene...it was the first time she watched someone kill people. Riviera wasn't naive...okay, maybe a bit naive, but she knew that killing was something common in this chaotic era. However, watching people dying was more intense and frightening than she had expected.
"T-They are...d-dead? You...killed them?" she spoke, still trembling.
The noble lady brought up her hand to cover her mouth as she felt nausea and her stomach hurting. Riviera somehow managed to stop herself from vomiting her lunch, keeping the last bit of her dignity. She took a deep breath, then repeated it a few times, until she felt a little better. Taking another peek at the corpses, the mage tried to think that the scene before her was a dream...a nightmare. Yes, a nightmare! How could it be anything else? Got trapped in a storm and people died...It was certainly a nightmare!!
However, the smart girl eventually realized that no matter how much she denied it, the reality still wouldn't change. Although Riviera wasn't directly involved with the killing, the girl got stressed just by watching it. Strange, indeed. Before, she had felt afraid for their safety but now she disliked the fact that she had seen those ruffians die. Riviera gave Tiz and Jya blank stare as she still kept silent. There was no reply for him coming from her pale lips.
When Riviera finally calmed down and regained her ability to speak, she looked down, avoiding their eyes, and said, "S-Sorry....I was freaked out...I-I think I still am..."

Jya mumbled a few words for the dead, she didn't know much about prayer, but she hoped that these men found better luck after death. With that said, there was still the body to take care of. They weren't going to get a proper burial, at least not from them. So instead, she began to pull the man she decapitated into the woods, throwing the body down next to their leader. The head soon went along as she grabbed it and placed it down as well. It would have been easier to just toss it, but that meant disrespect.
It seemed as though Tiz had moved to comfort Riviera, but there was still work to be done. She moved the axe-wielder that he had killed as well into the foliage. Hopefully someone will find the bodies, but for now, at least they were out of sight. It would be terribly unpleasant to just have them laying around in view. Out of sight, out of mind. As untrue as that statement was, it still made her at ease. In the battlefield there was no time to move the dead, so this was a pleasant change of pace in its own right.
As soon as the deed was done, she moved into the cave once again, shaking her head and splattering water all around. Riviera appeared so startled that she wasn't sure if she should approach. Instead, she kept to her things, taking out her piece of meat and cutting another slice.
"It's us or them, they weren't going to leave it be. Wish it didn't have to come to it, but what's done is done," she said, her voice steady, but tired. She was doing so well in avoiding these situations too, but others just wanted to take. She wasn't going to give them their pleasure, so the world had to deal with her living. She nervously and quickly ate her slice before cutting another one.
"You guys want some, we're going to need as much energy as we can get," she warned, offering up her food.
"Don't worry, my hands are clean," she reassured. Sure there was no blood on them now, but her hands were far from blameless.

Tiz knelt down, still a few feet away from Riviera, as if he were trying to coax a frightened animal into coming near him. He rested his hands over his knees, and spoke calmly. "It's alright. They're gone now, everything is okay. We are okay." He looked over his shoulder, watching Jya carelessly dispose of the bodies, as if they had to hide the evidence. It was sickening to him-- as a once bound military man, he believed all deserved proper burials. He sighed. They probably didn't have time anyway. There was no guarantee that more men wouldn't come, especially if those three were part of some scouting party. They seemed disjointed enough to have just been a small squadron, but they had no way of knowing. The rain was still coming down hard, and Tiz could just barely watch Jya as she moved the bodies from outside the cave and into the forest.
"Look..." Tiz sat down on the cave floor, opening himself up physically, his body language displaying that he was safe to come near, that everything was okay. He looked at poor Riviera, who looked to be suffering greatly. For someone who was battle trained, she certainly didn't handle the situation well. They were lucky that it was so few men-- any more, and she may have been forced to help, or otherwise, die ruthlessly. While he watched her, he thought about the first man he ever killed. It was during the first of his four years in the Lycian League, when he had been assigned to the First Swordfaire Division, on a scouting mission to Ostia to rescue any patrol groups that might still be in danger. When he went, his company was completely unaware that both monsters and bandits, though fewer in number, plagued the lands. Without much warning, Tiz and his party had been jumped by a group of thieves that had come to steal from whatever helpless rabble was still around. At the time, Ostia had been just recently destroyed, and the land was still fresh with wounds. In the battle, Tiz tried to fight in a way that would injure, not kill, but in the end, it came down to the thief's life or his own. He had plunged his blade clumsily into the stomach of the thief, and he bled out. Tiz dealt with the trauma for a while, all during his service, and then some after. In truth, he wasn't truly over it-- and he understood, upon reflecting, that for Riviera this must have been a very difficult experience, especially if it were her first time witnessing death. Tiz sighed heavily. Perhaps he had become desensitized.
"I'm sorry." Tiz said softly. "Please, it's okay now. I know it's hard. Just... just try to think about the absolution of it all. It was them, or it was us. We will leave this cave with our lives, and there was a chance we may not have. But now, it's okay. We can talk about this more when we get into town. I promise." His eyes were soft and kind towards the poor mage. She was so young, and probably retained much of her youthful innocence.
Looking towards Jya, understanding the need to eat up, Tiz happily stood and nodded his head. "Yeah, I've been on a cracker diet for too long. Let's do this." He sat down next to the woman, taking what she offered. He ate quickly, both because he was hungry, and because he knew they needed to eat fast and head to the closest town. The woods were dangerous. They knew that now.

People with great mental stress tended to overreact and exaggerate things, and in some case their imagination might run wild. And that was what happened to Riviera now, she still suffered the effect from the bloodbath. Even after having calmed down a bit she still hadn't recovered from her shock. She began to doubt her companions and feel fear. They were...killers. What would happen if she somehow angered them? Would she become the next victim? Normally, no one would blame someone who defended themselves, but Riviera wasn't used to the concept of "kill or be killed" so her fragile mind couldn't accept it.
For some unknown reason, an image of a blonde swordsman appeared in the Etrurian lady's mind. "Vergil..." she thought. Although he was far from being strong and dependable, but he was quite brave and caring. The swordsman had become the best servant companion in her journey so far, although they actually hadn't spent much time together. It was unfortunate he wasn't here now, she might be able to find a little peace with him in her side.
Both Jya and Tiz then said the same thing. However, those consolation words failed to get through Riviera. Half of her felt ashamed for the fact that she had shown so much weakness. The other half felt terrified for what had been done, even though she had no part in those killing, not directly at least. With empty gaze, Riviera got up and found a place near the fire with them. Her hand unconsciously reached out for the meat. She actually had no appetite now, but with her mind being unstable and messed, her body took control and followed the desire to fill her stomach. She couldn't taste the meat flavor but continued to eat it anyway. "How can they be so calm? Does everyone who...who has experience with killing not feel guilt or regret?" she thought to herself. This was the first time she felt like this. There was numerous violence acts in the tournaments for fighter in Etruria she had ever watched but those were different from this. She had never expected that real battle...especially if she was in the middle of it...could be so scary.
Rivi began to feel dizzy, her face flushed and her body was getting hotter. The stress combined with the cold temperature and being drenched in rain had given her a small fever. The blonde girl herself hadn't noticed it, thinking that it was just her getting tired. "So..." she spoke with trembled lips. "What now? The rain isn't stopping and we are trapped in this cave with...a few dead body outside there..." she said, glancing at the mouth of the cave.

Jya glanced out towards the rain. The storm wasn't getting much worse and it had lightened up, but they were surely going to get drenched if they left any time soon. No matter how little she liked it, they were gonna have to wait for the rain to stop. She couldn't afford to get any wetter than she already was. Her cloak was only able to drive off so much before it soaked through.
She unfastened the cloak and laid it next to the fire the dry. Grabbing some fuel, she lightly tossed it into the flames to keep it going. Shaking her head, drops of water fell around her. She was still drenched and that didn't bode well for her wound. She started to unbind her bandages when she noticed Riviera had joined them. Putting it off for a moment, she looked over at the girl. It wasn't serious, but she definitely needed rest.
"It'll stop," she assured, moving into the folds of her sack. She dug through the contents until she began to take out various herbs and concoctions. Moving over she twisted off the top of one and offered it to Riviera.
"Here, this should help with that fever of yours," she offered, holding out the vial.
"It isn't poisonous, I swear," she stated, testing some of it to show her. The thing was extremely bitter to say the least, but she was used to it.
"I...used to be a really sick kid growing up, left my little town when I was just thirteen with just the clothes on my back and a little bit of food. I used to take a lot of medicine, but when I got better, it became a force of habit," she explained, as she settled back down. All this movement was causing quite a bit of pain to her side. It seemed she had managed to open the wound up again. Uncovering the bandages, there was a long cut to her side.

Tiz was at a loss. Riviera looked like she had seen a horde of ghosts, and that the horde had chased after her. He had seen people afraid of combat, but he hadn't seen before. Even if it WAS her first time witnessing real combat, she certainly didn't handle it well. And she had never answered his question, which meant that yes, she very likely was nobility. Not from Lycia, though, he guessed. He surely would have seen her before. A quizzical look on his face, Tiz remained fixated on the young mage as she asked her question. Yeah, he wondered, what would they do next? Leave? Go to the next town? If so, together? The rain was still pretty thick, albeit a little lighter, as Tiz could make out from the noise outside dying down just enough to hear the normal conversation going on.
Standing up again and moving closer to the fire, he stood near Jya and folded his arms as he carefully watched her settle down, as if she would be here for a while. She seemed to be struggling a bit, as if she had been injured in the fight, although he didn't remember seeing her get hurt. A previous wound? The woman favored one side over the other. Ignoring Riviera for a moment, Tiz looked outside to notice the rain dying down, though still heavy enough to prevent travel-- if they were smart. He guessed he could sit it out for a while, but he wasn't entirely sure why. He could just as easily leave them here. At least one of them seemed capable, and he still had no way of knowing if he was safe from them.
The young man sat down by the fire, unhinging his pauldron from his shoulder and setting it next to him so his skin could dry off a bit, and also just because it was a little heavy. Any of the cuts he had suffered in the earlier brawl were small, unnecessary to treat. He would be fine. He'd seen a lot worse. As he was sitting down, he watched Jya remove a bandage to reveal a bloody, poorly treated wound. It looked old, as if it had started to heal but was then aggravated again. Tiz sighed and gave a hearty laugh as he reached into his bag. "That's no good," he mused, as if it were a bad joke. He took out some of his salve-- his still had a good bit left, and he felt it was his duty to help those who needed help. Whether this Jya was on his side or not was irrelevant-- he needed some medical attention, and he could provide, so why not?
Handing the salve out to Jya for her to take and apply herself, he winked at her jokingly, as if to say it was free to take and to be used in whatever amount the woman needed. Hand outstretched, he looked to the back of the small cave near Riviera. Softly, and with an air of friendliness, he spoke to her. "That was your first fight... wasn't it?"

"Fever?" Riviera made a confused expression as she received the vial from Jya. Finally realizing what the assassin was talking about, she placed her palm on her forehead to feel the heat. She then wondered if her bad luck would continue. Ever since she had entered this mountain range, nothing good had happened to her. Rain, bandits, and fever...What next? Dragon? Sighing weakly, she curled and started rubbing her body. This series of misfortune had pushed the girl to the limit, if those two weren't present, she would have started crying since long ago.
Riviera usually didn't accept something recklessly from strangers or new acquaintances. However, after everything she had gone through, she didn't care anymore. There was no need to be suspicious and picky to everything, especially because these two had prove that they bore no ill will toward her, at least. Knowing that the medicine would taste bad...very very bad, she closed her eyes as she slowly pushed the tip of the vial into her mouth. There was moment when she considered to let the fever kill her, and that was when the bitterness spread into every corner of her mouth. The mage used to mix high-grade honey or something with the medicine to suppress the bad flavor but she couldn't even think to have so much luxury in this situation. Despite her unwillingness to drink it, Riviera somehow swallowed a few gulps of the medicine before she decided to stop.
Jya then uncovered the bandages, exposing a long cut in her side, much to Riviera's surprise. She immediately turned her head away from Jya because she couldn't look at the long wound. It would be a long time before Riviera could get used to blood and wound. For now, she could only see it as something gross and scary. Without looking at the assassin, the Etrurian noble decided to respond to Jya's story. "I am truly amazed you did that...I mean...Leaving your home at such young age? That must be...hard. I can't imagine myself doing the same," she said. "But I guess that what made you a very capable person with a great set of skills..." The mage realized that it almost sounded like she was flattering Jya. She sighed and shook her head, believing her fever had made her spout random and unnecessary things.
Riviera looked at Tiz from the corner of her eyes. He was wrong. This wasn't her first fight...Although his question wasn't far off the mark. Hesitating with what she was going to say, the girl then answered the question. "That was my first REAL fight..." Although she wasn't sure she could call that a fight...because she didn't participate in the battle at all. Tiz's question had brought up a topic about her incompetency which hurt her pride. "That's embarrassing, wasn't it? But I can't help it. I need more real experience and training..." she said, looking more depressed than before. A heir of a noble family like her shouldn't show weakness so knowing Jya and Tiz had seen her helplessness was enough to make Riviera feel great shame.

"Thanks," Jya said, happily taking the salve. She sniffed the salve, the medicine seemed like a good starting point. She splashed some onto her hand once she finished unraveling her bandages. It hurt like crazy, but she gritted her teeth until she finished. Placing the bottle down, she began to patch up her wound again. The previous fight had opened it up again, but with the help of the vulnerary, she felt that it'll be fine as long as she got a bit more rest.
"It wasn't that hard, I remember my parents loving me, but they couldn't afford barely any help. They were so worried about me that they would barely let me sit outside most of the time. A thief taught me everything I needed to learn," she said, taking out a coin and rolled it around her fingers. Her hand was as nimble as it ever been, though sometimes it did more killing than actual stealing. Killing was one of the rules that her mentor highly discouraged.
"It's okay, better than my first fight," Jya chuckled, trying to think back on what had happened.
"I think I just ran away, then collapsed, my lungs couldn't take it," she admitted.
"I'm not anything impressive, everything I ever done was either for survival or my friends," she explained, not sure if it would mean anything to the mage or swordsman.
"My first kill was messy, I wasn't a strong kid at all, but at least she was saved," she shrugged, leaning over and grimacing at the pain. She threw in another piece of dry wood from her supplies.

"Sure," Tiz said, watching Jya as she applied the medicine to her wound. It looked bad... Perhaps it was old and untreated. He wondered how soon they would be able to get to the next town. Tiz worried that she hadn't sought medical attention because she was on the run. That could very well be the case-- it would make sense, anyway. The least of his concerns, though, were her criminal past or anything of the sort. His immediate concern was getting back to town, and making sure these two stayed alive. What strange companions to have come across. "Keep it. Looks like you'll need it." The swordsman nodded to her, indicating that it was fine.
Slowly, and with a hurt expression on his face, Tiz turned to Riviera towards the back of the cave. "Training and experience won't help you get any better at taking a life. It won't make you battle hardened," he spoke softly, with a tinge of seriousness in his words. "but it will make you desensitized." He turned away from her, realizing that there was nothing left to be said. He felt he was right-- the killing he did never came easy, and he envied the young girl for her ability to still recognize the sacredness of human life-- be it evil or good.
He looked back at Jya. "If you aren't fighting to protect someone, your fighting is worthless," he began with a smile, looking at the weary, injured woman. "We fight on because there are people worth saving, people worth bringing freedom and happiness to. Much as I sometimes hate it," Tiz placed his hand lightly on the top of his sword, resting his arm across it. "in a world like this, sometimes fighting is the only way to secure that. Maybe someday that'll change," he mused, looking up to the ceiling of the cave with a broad smile on his face. "But I don't know that I'll see it in my lifetime."
The young man stood up slowly, then placed his arm lightly on Jya's shoulder as she applied her bandages. He looked outside, noticing that the rain had slowed enough. The sky was still grimacing, and the rain was but a sprinkle. It looked like it might spit rain again at any time, but Tiz figured they ought to use whatever time they were given. "Saving her makes it all worthwhile," Tiz said quietly to Jya, as if he understood who and what she had been talking about. It wasn't his business to pry.
"We should get going," Tiz said, looking to the mouth of the cave. "I don't know when the rain will come back, but we should head for the nearest town before more of these goons show up. Or worse."

Riviera thought about their words. First kill...Would she have that someday? Would she kill a person? Just imagining it made her stomach hurt. The mage had ever wished someone to die or said that some people deserved to die, but she never considered doing the killing with her own hands. It seemed the world outside her beautiful cage was harsher than she had thought. She shivered as she began to realize that she might have do it someday. Riviera couldn't imagine using her magic to kill someone. Some of the spells were designed for battle, for hurting people and maybe even killing them, but it would need more than knowledge about those spells to actually utilize it against her enemies. She would need determination and courage to live with the consequences.
Riviera raised her head, her expression showing uncertainty and disagreement toward Tiz's suggestion. Was it truly wise to leave now? Her current condition was far from best. She doubted she would make it to the next town with her fever and the exhaustion continuously weakening her. However, the man was right. So she couldn't really rebuke him. "Is that our only choice?" she spoke with weak voice. Even the best medicine wouldn't heal a sickness in short time so she couldn't expect her fever to disappear soon. Walking under the rain, even if it was lighter than before she had found this cave, seemed like a bad idea. "They wouldn't leave me alone, would they?" she thought. The blonde mage didn't like depending to others but she didn't have much choice for now. How could
"Can't we stay here, only for tonight at least?" Riviera couldn't honestly tell Jya and Tiz that she was too weak to continue so she decided to use logical reason to persuade them. Besides, she seriously thought that going outside would be far more dangerous option than staying for a night in the cave. "If the rain were to come back, maybe even heavier than the last, we would find ourselves in an unfavorable situation. Also, It might be even more dangerous out there," she explained.

Tiz walked to the mouth of the cave, which was not far from the fire where he had been standing. He folded his arms and leaned against the mouth wall, surveying the woods beyond them. The path before them was trailed with blood, and the night had set in by now, almost hiding what had happened. He sighed. This was no place for this girl. She needed to be back at home in her city, away from these sorts of things. She was too soft. Too naive, too unaware of the world. This was to her benefit, he thought. She could stay happy this way, but not here. Not in some gods-forsaken cave in the middle of the woods.
He turned away from the mouth, towards Riviera, arms still folded as he listened to her. A small, sad smile drew itself across his lips. She was truly afraid of whatever was out there, and Tiz assumed she was too afraid to leave regardless of the time. He figured at the best case, she would leave with a little coaxing, and at the worst case they'd have to go separately to retrieve a guard-envoy to take her back home. He wondered if she was from Bern, or if she had been en route to Bern from somewhere else. Why on earth was she out here? And why hadn't she answered his questions?
With another sigh, Tiz answered her. "Well, no," he said slowly. "We wait it out any longer, who knows what else shows up. Those guys were probably common forest bandits on the lookout for poor unfortunate souls, but if they weren't, we could very easily see more of them." He turned away from her, looking back outside into the night sky. "We could stay the night, sure, and have our throats slit in our sleep."
Turning away, the man donned his cloak and pulled the hood up over his head to shield him from what was left of the rain. "I won't leave you to rot," he said with a chuckle. "If worse comes to worst, Riviera, I will carry you. But I think you can handle making it to the next town." He thought forcing her to confront her fears would be good for her. He knew in his heart he couldn't leave her-- if she truly didn't follow, Tiz knew he wouldn't be able to leave the cave. He couldn't leave this girl here to suffer. But the nearest town wasn't terribly far, and surely it had an inn that could put them up for the night until they parted ways. The walk there would probably be dangerous, but he figured it would be no more dangerous than staying here and taking their chances. They were at a disadvantage in this cave. It was small, cramped, and in the middle of a now-shrouded forest.
"So are you coming, or am I going at this alone?"

It was dangerous in the cave, but Riviera was sick and needed rest. She would get a better one out in town. Jya scratched the back of her neck, glancing out of the cave and let out a sigh, rising to her feet. She picked up her cloak, which seemed to more or less have been dried. Looking over at Riviera, she placed it on the other girl's shoulders.
"You'll feel better in town, we can make it there together, and this cloak should help keep the rain off of you," she encouraged before turning to Tiz. The forest was still dangerous, but they can't afford a detour. She had a good idea where the road would be, but it would be faster if they cut through the woods.
"I'll lead, it shouldn't take more than a few more hours to get to the town and if there is anything I can be proud of, it'll be my eyes," she assured, staring the man in the eyes. She could also keep watch for the night if they had chosen to stay, but no, it was most likely an unnecessary risk. She glanced back at the mage and then back at the woods beyond. Those corpses weren't out of her mind.
Closing her eyes, she walked out, taking note that the rain had more or less petered out. It was a deal too dark, but the moon was out to make out a bit of thin clouds. Some light was better than none, but would it be wise to carry a torch?

Beginning to follow Jya out of the cave, Tiz kept close to her initially, wondering about the health of the mage, worried that they may need to take extreme caution in what was coming to be the burden of taking a sickly mage back home, and then hoping he had enough strength to carry on. In all honesty, Tiz wanted to help the woman, regardless of whether or not this Jya was the one he had heard legends of-- but in the current state, with the weather, and with the injuries the group had sustained, he became increasingly worried about the possibility of more bandits. If they were after Jya... It would make sense, but it might not be the most reasonable way to think. If they had been common bandits, and it seemed that they were, it was unlikely that they would have a specific target in mind.
Tiz sighed, stopping in his tracks as he looked up at the moon. He cleared his throat before speaking to Jya. "Look, I... would love to stay and help you with this. Take my vulnerary-- I won't need it, and it looks like you might," he glanced down at her arm again, wondering what had caused the wound to begin with. "But this might be out of my league. And I'll be honest, I was headed in the opposite direction as where we're now headed, and I have... personal business to attend to," he was being purposefully vague, and lying hurt him, so he looked away, down towards the ground. "I have been requested in Lycia to help repair the Laus-Santaruz trade disagreement, and I need to be on my way. Please, take care of the girl. And yourself."
He turned, slowly, walking away from her, hoping she wouldn't put an arrow in his back. He chuckled, looking down at his feet as he walked. He wondered if he would ever see either of them again, and if so, under what circumstances. Part of him was worried about those circumstances...
