Mila launched the tiny dart shaped flames out the window. Her little daggers of fire hit their mark as she witnessed the leg of one of the undead erupt into flames. Then she fired one regular ball of flame out towards that same Zombie's head. This caused the creature to fall to the ground and die a second time. She did a quick head count of the zombies that remained.
"I.. Think.. we have.. two more left to deal with. I.. can.." She tried to steady her vision and looked around.
"I spot.. one.. Going to.. try to.. get it." She narrowed her eyes slightly. Her vision was slowly becoming blurry. Come on focus.. She concentrated another ball of flame into her hands. Again she made the smaller dart like version of her flame.
"I.. think the other one is going to follow it's friend out towards the door. I.. didn't get a good look at it." Hope it's a small zombie.. like the rest.. and not one of the larger.. more formidable ones like an entombed. She spoke with such exhaustion in her voice. She hoped and prayed she wouldn't miss this because she would need to take a larger break after wards. The small breaks he had been doing in between spells would not cut it this time. ..Just.. two more.. yeah.. we.. can do this. She grabbed the window frame with her free hand and fired the small dart like spells at the undead she could see. These darts were very accurate as she hit the monster in the head. Once in the eye and the other two were lodged into the creature's neck and forehead. There was a screech of what Mila perceived to be pain as the flames set the monster's head alight. She pulled her body back in to the safety of the house. She could feel her chest burning with each breath.
"The..there.." She couldn't formulate words at the moment. The noises around them had stopped though. The only thing that could be heard was the shambling feet of one lone un-dead creature that was still out there somewhere.

Drei felt the weariness of initial fatigue ebb more vigorously into his very core. He couldn't help but wonder if he would ever really.. fully get used to it. The snowy haired shaman however soon found himself gaining a second wind. His breathing started to come a bit easier. His limbs did not ache with a stopping burn, but more a steady one. He tugged at his sleeve for a moment to adjust it, as he looked around him. That was when he heard the first low rumble of thunder tumble across the landscape. It was somewhat distant. However it served as a precedent for things to come. He soon heard the steady droplets of water cascade down against the wooden surface that served as a roof. Small traces of the rain found their way through leaky openings, soon trailing along sides of the ceiling and along the wall. There was a hanging silence in the air that contributed to the otherwise still growing tension. Drei shifted in his stance and tried to listen for an indication as to any zombies.
Faintly, he could hear shufflings. Lingering groans that indicated one was in fact still alive. He'd handle that one yeah..but for now...
Drei leaped upwards, hands grasping at the section of the stairs that hadn't been blown down. With a fair bit of effort required on his part, due to a lacking upper body strength in his fatigued state, he pulled himself up over the edge. He was able to feel brief portions of the wooden surface that had been so out of proportion tearing at him slightly while he tugged himself over. He turned to look at the gap made, and nodded in affirmation that he would not have to worry about the undead monstrosity getting to them. As the rain started to slowly pick up, he made his way over to room Mila was in before tilting his head to gaze at her. He eased himself onto the edge of the bed within the room, gazing at her quietly. "You should try to get some rest. If the last one shows up..I'll handle it, but you look exhausted."

Mila barely registered the growing storm clouds outside the window. Her head was a mess of pain and thoughts. The lack of proper sleep, the concern over Drei, the traveling, this fight, and the sudden over exhaustion of her magic had taken it’s toll on the mage’s body. She could barely speak a response to Drei if he said anything. She soon found herself sitting down on one of the straw beds that inhabited the upper floor of the home. Drei sat down and started speaking about her exhaustion.
“No.. it’s fine. We’ll get the last one together. You.. are probably feeling just as bad.. as I am.” Her mind flashed back to the night of his headaches. Neither she or he had managed to get proper rest after that incident. It was starting to get darker in the room as the storm clouds spread across the sky.
“Ah.. your horse.. it’s going to get all wet.. the poor thing.” A shot of pain made it’s way from the back of her head out to the forehead. Mila slowly undid the ponytail that kept her hair up so as to relieve some pressure. Not that it did much, she was spiritually exhausted at this point. She pulled from the desk a nearby candle and lit it with the tiniest flame she could muster. She then quietly put the candle and it’s candle holder on the floor away from her feet. And away from anything that could accidentally be set on fire. She found herself staring into the tiny candle flame as her mind started to wander. She recalled the last time she was in this sort of situation. It was sort of similar to her encounter with Ryu. Actually.. this IS a lot similiar. I wonder if.. No Mila. No. Cease thought. She tried to mentally tell herself that but it was no use. She had awoken the council of inner voices that lived in her mind. Suddenly there was a debate in her head about the pro’s and cons of repeating her night at Ryu’s here and now but with Drei. Not that she wouldn’t have minded another night like that but… Drei isn’t Ryu you guys. We.. aren’t going to force ourselves on him. That’s rude. and Come on.. we are working. Professionalism. She felt her hand touch her very warm head. Her face was red. Her mind kept trying to convince itself to go for it.
This.. Oh my gods this.. shuffling back and fourth between thoughts.. this is what insanity is. A flash of lightning illuminated the room for a moment. We. Are. Adults. Stop thinking like a love lorn teenager and focus on the task at hand. There’s a zombie.. we are stra.. The mage’s eyes widened at the loud rumble of thunder outside. All her thoughts of adulthood disappeared as a primal fear took over and she felt herself cling to the closest thing near her. Unfortunately for Drei, Mila was now attached to him. Her head and face was buried into his back and she had an arm wrapped around him. Like a scared child, the mage kept her eyes closed, and wished for the storm to pass.

Drei replied almost instantly to Mila when she mentioned him being tired. Honestly? He was starting to feel better. Perhaps it was his body acclimating to the strain of nether magic? He couldn't tell. It didn't stop him from dismissively shaking his head and waving his hand lightly. "I'll be alright. I've..dealt with far worse..as you know. Besides..the little headaches are like background noise to me now. What I am worried about though is you. You look absolutely exhausted. "
As the rain started, she mentioned his horse. Drei turned his head to look towards the window. As droplets trailed along the glass sill, he thought about the white Etrurian horse before he rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. He looked to the window as if gazing at his horse, with a soft smile. "It isn't the first time we've been stuck in the rain. He should be okay for now honestly. Before I had a tent, we were stuck at a hillside in Sacae during a rainstorm. We were sooooo soaking wet for that day. Haha..we ended up both basking in the sun when the storm cleared. Just laying in the grass for hours. " A single hand ran through the ashen threads of hair which messily blocked part of his face. Combing the bangs out of his face he stretched his neck to the right. Small pops crackled out as he felt a shot of relief rush through him. Then there was a loud crash of thunder. Suddenly...
Mila had latched onto him so abruptly that she almost knocked him onto the bed. Drei had struggled in that moment to suppress the yelp of surprise. He seized up slightly, and while he did his best to muster a small smile towards Mila; the only thought running through his head was repeated like a mantra. ohgodsohgodsohgodsohgods He just didn't know how to react. However he didn't want to push Mila away, so he sat there. Nervous, and somewhat confused; he also noticed that her face was beet red and she was warm as well. This at-least, he deduced from the warmth now pressing to her back, and in the brief moment he'd seen her before she all but tackled him her face was flushed. Drei shifted around to try and face her while he hugged her lightly with his palms pressed into her back near the small mid portion. He tilted his head as he looked at her through amber hued eyes. "Are you okay?"

"No. No. I'm not Ok. Thunder.. bad. Thunder bad!" She winced as another rumble passed over them. She hated herself for having this childish fear. She hated the fact that thunder just had to sound like the falling debris from the cave in. She hated this sort of vulnerability. She hated that Drei now had to see this side of her. She pulled her face away just a bit so she could breathe a bit easier.
"I hate thunder!" She yelled before another roar came from the sky. Come on .. get a hold of yourself.. She mentally told herself. Th-there's.. not thing to be.. afraid.. of it's.. just the sky. It's not.. rocks.. it's not.. rocks.. The rain outside seemed to fall even harder then before. She was not this emotional last time she was in a thunderstorm. Then again last time, she was very distracted by certain actions to really notice how loud the thunder was. But not this time. This time she could hear and almost feel the earth shake as each bolt of lightning signaled the eventual noise. She pulled her head away a bit more and noticed the bright flash of white light illuminate the room once more. The thunder that followed the flash was so loud she swore she could feel the vibrations coming through the walls. She pulled away from Drei for a moment so she could arrange herself in another position. Her head was buried into his chest. The initial embarrassment that was on her face earlier, melted into quiet sobs.

Drei felt rather awkward at the given moment. Obviously he wouldn't spurn Mila when she needed comfort. However, and especially as she turned to bury her face against his chest, he couldn't help but find himself at a lack of what to do. How to react? How was he supposed to react? His amber hued eyes lingered on Mila's sobbing figure while he slowly coiled his arms around her to tightly embrace her. At that moment he felt bad. Guilty even. He couldn't really help her. He couldn't shield her from her fear. He couldn't destroy her fear (Since the forces of nature would likely obliterate him if he tried such feats) and he certainly couldn't remove her fear. As the rain became more intense, and as the thunder continued to heavily rumble; Drei simply sat there.
It made him aware of his surroundoings. In the awkward state he was in; simply trying to determine what to do...he noticed many things. How sore his back was for example. The burning stiffness along his spine that ran up into his shoulders and caused them to ache. The discomfort in the way his left leg was bent upon the bed tucked under his knee. The snowy haired boy fought the desire to shift around. A particularly sudden and loud crash of thunder nabbed his attention. To try and prevent Mila from reacting to it, he squeezed her tightly. He pressed her close and did his best to shield the girl anyway. It was a foolish notion..but one that he couldn't fight off earnestly. One didn't just shield emotions. Not another's emotions at-least.
He would wait as long as he needed to so that he might offer better comfort. He shifted his head as he tried to speak to Mila about it. Perhaps talking and venting would help? It was worth a shot.
"So what about thunder do you hate?"

What about Thunder do you hate? Mila heard those words and she just wanted to scream. She hated everything about the noise. Drei wrapped his arms around her as if to shield her her from the loud rumble of the thunder. She found herself starting to shiver. Her mind started to wander, it replaced the comfort of this moment with her fears. Another low rumble came from the outside. The slow tumble and rumble of the cave in started to plague her mind. She could see it happening in her own head again. The darkness that clouded her vision. The earth that threatened to consume her. The air that wouldn't fill her lungs. She shook her head. The cool moist air of the night hit her face. Unknown to her she was muttering words they were haphazard and panicked.
"Th..the rocks.. I.. can.. hear.. the rocks.." She pulled away lightly to breathe a bit better.
"Th-thu..thunder sounds like the rocks." She held Drei tighter.
"..No.. I.. don't.. want.. to get crushed. N-no.. not..again." There was another terribly loud rumble like before. This time her wince was louder and her sobbing got worse.
"It.. dark. So.. dark.." If she were in a more rational state of mind she would have noticed the reason why it's so dark. Her face was pressed very deep into Drei's darkened robes to the point that it blocked off what little light the room had. Below them though the zombie continued to shuffle about. There were several loud bangs from the wall of the floor below them. Then a cracking noise as the monster forced it's way inside.

Now it was Drei that was concerned for the other magic user. Was this like for her when he had suffered his headache and found himself huddled in a complete mess? He couldn't help but wonder. Drei squeezed Mila's sides and hugged her closer with his arms coiled around her. However, he moved a bit so she wouldn't have her face buried into his chest. Drei shifted himself a bit and slowly lifted his hands to lift her chin. He knew she was in a state of panic. However suffocating herself would do no good. So instead he moved Mila slightly so that she was still able to cling to him but with her looking towards him. He then leaned forwards to hug her again but with his cheek pressing to hers slightly. Ashen strands of hair brushed against her as he resumed trying to soothe Mila. He wasn't a specialized at how people could be comforted. Hells..he didn't really understand people in general. He could only go by what his instinct was telling him.
The young shaman felt a slight concern in the back of his mind for the zombie shuffling about beneath them. Disregarding it he let one hand rest near the middle of her back and at the center; the other hand a bit higher with his palm pressing to the base of her back lightly. He spoke quietly after a moment, while rain came down heavily around them and the thunder continued to rumble. "Mila..it's okay. Were not surrounded by rocks. Were surrounded by wood." His gaze drifted to the flooring. The wood had spots with small holes in it and at other spots it was warped. "Really...really shoddy wood. It is wood none the less though! So trust me..we won't get crushed. Er..maybe partially covered. We won't get crushed though. " He was really bad at this. At this point he felt sheepish. What was he doing trying to help her? He wasn't a soft hearted person that could shower people in kittens and puppies until their problems vanished. He was a shaman. He communed with the embodiment of all things tainted. This entire situation was just weird...yet he found himself wishing he could help her more than just hollow words.

The loud crash of the zombie entering the building caused her to shudder some more. The noises were starting to get to her in a way that words could not solve. But she was entirely useless in this state. If she could some how see herself like this with a rational brain she could call herself pathetic for being in this vulnerable. The shaman's words were true. Her mind slowly started to stitch together the events that had lead up to now. She kept focusing on the wood. She shivered again as she slowly pulled away from Drei and took to lying down in a fetal position on the bed. Her hands went up to her ears as she tried to huddle herself closer into her own knees.
"No.. rocks.. No.. Rocks.." She kept repeating it. She closed her eyes. It's.. just.. a storm. It's.. a storm.. it's.. a storm. She continued to try and rationalize the situation. The rumble outside continued along with the now sick shuffling noise of the animated corpse below them. The fatigue of her body and the days had set in. But her mind was still unstable. Even if she was in the best of mental health she did not have enough energy to launch a fire ball. Which meant that Drei would have to attack it. The patter of rain outside lingered in her ears again her mind she saw it as the vibrations of the earth. She gritted her teeth and fought the urge to scream. We..aren't.. in the tomb. Th..this.. isn't the tomb.
"Nn.. n..ot.. not.. in a tomb.. w..we aren't in the.. tomb. It.. just.. a storm. J-Just.. a storm."

He let her leave his grasp. Despite the nagging urge that he try to comfort her further...he knew that the zombie below had to be taken care of. Drei slowly sat up from the bed and turned on his heel to stride towards the door. The storm pounding on around them set a proper atmosphere...that was sure. Brief flashes of lightning gave clairvoyance to the surroundings as if the world around him had momentarily switched back to a bright summers day. Then receded into shadows once more. Now grateful for his second wind, Drei moved to open the door slowly. His breathing steady and slow to ease the heart hammering within his chest. His left hand lifted as he started to channel magic into it. Swirling orbs of darkness configuring into pure void essence; his amber eyes slowly acclimating to the dark while he listened.
He was about six steps from the gap where the stairs had been destroyed. Once he climbed down...he wouldn't be climbing up until he found the zombie. He tried to steel himself. He would need it. The boy crouched near the steps before leaping downwards. Shadowy essence swirled into a full sized orb as the shaman conjured the essence of flux. The ashen haired shaman tilted his gaze before easing onto the second floor. Broken floor boards clanked nosily beneath his feet. Yes...that was exactly how to be a master of stealth. Chastising himself as he gazed around; he loathed how eerily quiet it was. Drei leaned forwards and lunged down as he felt the rush behind him. The movement of the fetid claw was the monster lifted its hand up and brought it back down upon his body. Clothing tore, and Drei felt the searing agony as he cursed himself for his haphazard nature. Drei lunged to the side to get some distance. Slamming down to the wood, he quickly recovered and crouched his knees. He sent the nether orb sailing through the air before it clashed into the zombie with a mass of blackish bursts. The creature flailed through it, but continued forwards only to bring his claw down again. This time Drei was too slow from still trying to recover after his lunge. The brutal strike caught him along part of his right jaw, before trailing down his chest.
The shaman wasn't sure what was worse. The pain as he felt his skin being torn; or the deceptively unsettling feeling as warm blood began to trail from his wounds. Feeling his vision haze at the pain threatening to overwhelm him, the Shaman forced himself up. He pressed off the dusty wooden ground and started sprinting. Movement. That was his edge. That's what he needed to do. Keep moving past it. Agility. If he could manage that in his wounded state. He'd figure out something though...he had to.

Mila's mind was a wave of emotions and pain. The strange mix mash between her emotions, fears, and urge to assist in the reality of the situation. She felt the shifting of the bed's weight which meant that Drei left probably to go deal with the zombie that was crawling around. She continued to keep her eyes closed. She was now rocking back and fourth. With each low rumble of thunder Mila continued to try to shrink herself more and more into her own body. A small voice in her head was trying to urge her to get up and help deal with the zombie. But that voice was drowned out by her auditory hallucination of the cave in. She could almost see the remains of the ruins now and the sandy colored rocks as they covered her body. The noise of the shuffling down below slowly transforming into noises of the her comrades desperately trying to escape their burial under the rubble.
She opened her eyes and for a moment the shadowed wooden structure that made up the top floor of the home she was in. Appeared to be like the ruins she was once trapped in. But after a few more hard blinks, a minor moment in crying, and rubbing of her tear strained eyes, she could see the wood. She slowly tried to pull her self up and out of her fetal position. She tried very hard not to crawl back into the bed and resume her in coherent crying. But she was still shaking, still very afraid, and very unstable. She gripped the edge of the bed frame in an attempt to stabilize herself. She was swaying in her seat and mumbling something incoherent. In the future she would probably be very glad Drei wasn't around to see her in this semi-mentally disturbed state.

Drei's hands tightened their grip slowly. With the rain trickling down through leaky spots in the roof only to splash cool refreshing droplets upon him, he felt himself become startlingly aware of his surroundings. Moments ago he had felt a haze of lethargy about him. As if he was unable to move fast enough. Think fast enough. React fast enough. The shadowy figure moving towards him was easier to see, and even as his heart raced faster within his chest he felt how startlingly close to perishing he had been just a moment before. The pale skinned shaman leapt backwards as he extended his hands and began to increase the surge of nether magic within him. He lifted his hands upwards as the two sphere's turned into one larger one.
The pool dipped downwards slowly into the ground before twisting forwards and moving in a mass of inky tendrils towards the monster. The nether blast blew apart surrounding floor boards as it sent the shambling corpse flailing into the air and onto its side not a moment later. Drei felt a shiver crawl down his spine, and he slowly lifted his hands. This time the sphere of black void essence configured much quicker. On the spot training in his endurance, is ultimately what this had become. Bleeding as he was, he knew he'd have to end it fast. The Shaman lifted a hand towards the monster as tens of inky tendrils trailed from his palm down into the ground to form a single swirling mass of darkness. The corpse was slowly lifting it's self. The shaman grit his teeth and continued harnessing magic as he looked to the monster. This would finish it.

Slowly Mila pulled herself up onto her feet. She still gripped part of the bed post in order to keep herself steady. There was another flash of light then the rumble of thunder again. The mage visibly winced once more at the sound. But the flash of lightning did give her some illumination and a bit of a general mindset of where everything was. She heard the sounds of the zombie flailing about and the small buzz and hum of Drei’s nether magic. She couldn’t just sit there while he was fighting. She needed to fight too. Another flash and Mila made her way over to the set of broken stairs. She gripped the broken railing as she made her way down. Her mind completely forgot about the ladder she saw leaning against the wall in the upper floor. Her pace was slow. She found herself hugging the remains of the railing bar when the thunder rumbled again. And she swore for a moment that the floor and walls around her were stone.
“I..it’s.. just.. wood. It’s.. just.. wood…j-just.. wood.” She repeated it to herself. The creaking of the shoddy wooden floor boards helped to assure her that what she was stepping on was wood. In the palm of her hand she summoned a tiny ball of flame to help guide her way. She would extinguish the flame when she needed the hand to climb down. There was another noise at what she assumed was the sound of a body hitting the floor. She hoped to every god she could think of that it wasn’t Drei. Another shot of lightning illuminated the darkness and Mila soon found her feet firmly fixed on the first floor. She did it! She made it down. Now all she had to do was find Drei and continue to use him as glorified teddy bear until the storm passed.

The tangibility of tension in that precise moment was maddening. He could feel his heart wildly hammering within his chest, as it labored to replace the blood trailing down the wounds along his back, side, jaw, and chest. His lungs burning with each breath as he tried to focus, and his skin flaring agonizingly so when his body expanded from inhalation; all the while focusing and forcing himself onwards. The monster had risen and was slowly rising upwards fully. The Entombed monstrosity had sustained multiple hits from his magic...and he had about one more solid shot in him. As the inky shadows danced along broken floorboards towards the creature, Drei shouted in determination. Every ounce of his being bled into the attack(Almost literally) while he felt his hands pulse with the void essence.
The flux spell warped upwards and spiraled around the creature. Air and physical reality seemed to distort as that black essence compressed inwards before bursting at the monsters chest. The blast sent the monster's body flailing to the side before crashing against the wall and flopping downwards limply. The already lifeless corpse no longer showed signs of movement. Drei's knees practically buckled as he eased himself to a crouch. His breathing rigid and he himself in so much agony that he couldn't tell if he actually hurt anymore from the overwhelming bursts of sensory. He felt warm all over. No doubt from blood and the burning of his wounds. However that was when the snowy haired shaman saw the mage making her way down the stairs...or...what was left of them. Wincing as he forced himself up, Drei slowly made his way over to Mila. The shifting of the storm clouds had allowed beams of light to break through and cast small bits of illumination into the house.
As the heavily injured shaman stood up and looked to the mage, he smiled weakly before speaking in a rather dogged voice. "I think were safe now...Mila...ah.." The Shaman fell to one knee again. One hand instinctively gripped at the others forearm while it hung near his side. The Shaman's entire body was locked up as he tried to keep his muscles from yielding. He shook his head a bit and then back up to her. "Ah...How are you feeling? "

Mila continued to follow the noises of the scuffle until everything went silent. She held her breath for a moment as a shadowy figure approached her from the dark. The fireball she had used as light grew bigger and brighter in intensity. It was a subconscious response in case she needed to chuck it at the incoming zombie. But what she saw in the shadows horrified her more then any zombie would. Drei was hurt. And it wasn't a light injury either. Just from the way he looked through the small light the fire provided and the occasional illumination of the lighting made him look like he was a newly formed zombie. Her hand twitched. She stopped herself from lobbing the ball of orange light at the shaman. She shook away the orb of flame and rushed over to the shaman.
She grabbed him before he fell and pulled him close to her chest. She had no words to say. Her body moved in autonomously. She reached through her bag for the satchel of healing balm she kept close by. She sniffed it to make sure it was the right bag of herbs and not the other bundle of herbs she used for tea. The rumble outside didn't phase her since she tuned it out and was entirely focused on Drei and his wounds. She didn't care for the blood that now stained her clothes. Or for her own health. By the end of this she probably wouldn't even remember this whole healing act she was doing now. The mage's fingers scooped out gobs of the salve and put it onto his wounds. The salve was strong and stung the body. But she kept pressure on Drei's wound. Soon her other hand found the bandages. She pushed up the remain's of Drei's top then wrapped the clean linen bandages over his wounds.
