"Your sure about that", spoke Gaston as he began to look around in the huts. "We need to be sure. I don't want to get axed any questions in the back while I think I am safe." Gaston paused for a moment and then turned toward his new found friend. "You check for information about your parents and I will keep a eye out for danger", spoke the hunter as he pulled out a arrow and pierced it through the back of the down men's skulls. Gaston was not taking any chances. As a hunter he understood that a animal was at its most vulnerable right before it makes a kill. They may have just taken down the bandits, but they where still in that kill mode. Gaston was not going to be ambush. What kind of end would that be if Gaston the brave and the bold died to a bunch of shirtless, unwashed heathen, human ticks in the nation of Lycia. The very thought nearly made Gaston vomit.
After making sure that everyone was truly dead Gaston dragged there bodies into a empty hut. He kept his ears open for any kind of sound while he was doing his work. After getting the bodies in he took a few logs from the pile nearby and placed them into the fire and then threw a bunch of kindling into it. He then moved into the darkness and began to look around. This was a trick Gaston had learned as a hunter. Never stare directly into a bright light. It will blind you to everything else in the dark. If there where any bandits still around the fire would grab there attention and weaken there ability to sense Gaston in the darkness. It was not a perfect stratagem, but one Gaston was willing to bet his life on.

Rixsch ran around the camp, much like a child in a large field. He looked around the camp for any more enemies and laid his hands on his hips, his chest puffed outwards triumphantly. "Of course I'm sure. Like I said before, I may be young, but I'm not an idiot." Rixsch said whilst opening the door to the hut made of light wooden planks. He found himself in a rather pleasantly furbished room, with a small fireplace burning in the wall. Rixsch looked around, pulling drawers open, checking for any clues whatsoever. "Nothing. Crap." He said to himself, as he usually would when his searches led to nothing but worthless brigands and small piles of gold. He picked up a small book on the floor and flicked through it. It seemed to be a diary, this brought a tear to Rixsch's eye "I hope we brought you all justice." He muttered to himself. " now, lets see..." Rixsch said to himself as he traveled out of the hut and checked around the other huts and found a large sack of gold. He dragged it out and looked at Gaston "I did find some loot! I'd say there's about fifteen grand in here, how much we splittin' it by?" Rixsch said, lifting the sack off the floor and slinging it over his shoulder "Looks like I'll be getting a new sword soon!" Rixsch said, smiling at Gaston "thanks to you, of course." He said quickly, trying to sound as though he had some gratitude. He did have gratitude, but he usually seems as though he did not care for others' help. It was a nasty habit of his.

"no need for that", spoke Gaston as he waved his hands in rejection of the gold. "I did not do it for coin and all that coin is dirty. Gaston does not need dirty coin. Besides my mother use to tell me a old saying that was popular in our home village. The more Gold you have the closer the Grim Reaper is behind you. That much gold would only bring me trouble and slow me down. If you want to keep it lad be my guest", spoke Gaston. After looking around for a moment to be 100 percent sure there where no bandits Gaston turned back to his new young friend. "I think our partnership has come to a end young one. The next time you fight bandits please be a little more intelligent about it. You won't have Gaston to bail you out of trouble every time."
With a smile and a salute Gaston made his way back into the darkness of the woods. That was a fine hunt thought Gaston to himself as he began to walk through the woodland. He was about to go on his merry way when a thought came to his mind. What if the lad gets jumped by bandits on his way back to the village. "Can't have that can we", spoke Gaston to himself. The hunter decided he would stay in the shadows and watch the lad till he got back to safety. If he came into trouble a arrow or two from Gaston would help. After he got back Gaston would go his own way. He still needed a buck for tomorrow's feast at the local tavern. The local ladies loved it when a man brought free meat to the entire village. Gaston could already see the beautiful women now. They would be singing his song and dancing to his name.

Rixsch waved the hulking man goodbye, saying "may our paths cross again at some point in the future, good friend," and set on his way, holding the sack of gold over his shoulder and walking slowly. "Now, what will I do with all this gold? Ugh, it's so heavy. Screw it, I'm buying a new blade, getting some food, and giving the rest of it to some sorta charity or somethin'. This much gold for one guy is far too much, 'specially for a guy who is used to travelling light." He thought aloud. He looked at his blade again, one crack went straight across the weapon, meaning two pieces of metal held on to each other by one sliver of material. Rixsch grimaced "Well, we had a good run, ol' buddy, but you're far past your prime." He sheathed it once again and continued walking, he soon noticed, in the distance, a faint glow. "Looks like there's a tavern still open. Nice, maybe they'll give me some food and a night's lodging." Rixsch yawned, he needed some sleep, for he hadn't slept for a good two days searching for clues for bandits in the area, and going after them was a task. He was ready to collapse onto a nice bed and sleep away, for he knew that the next morning would feature more desperate searching. "I hope you two are still out there." Rixsch said, glancing at the glowing moon. He heard the sound of a twig snapping in the nearby forest, and his head lurched towards it. He shook his head "probably just a fox or somethin'."

Gaston had stayed in the shadows long enough. The kid was close enough that he was sure no bandit would pop out and kill him. That and Gaston had been searching the woods himself. He may have frighten the lad a bit when he stepped on that stick, but that was fine. He needed to be alert of his surroundings. "Now lets go find that buck", spoke Gaston as he began to move into the forest. He had lost so much time helping the little runt, but helping people is what he did. He was in fact Gaston, and as Gaston he had a moral obligation to help all the none Gastons out there. If he did not then they would be left to crash and burn on the side of the road. Clearly Gaston was born into this age to bring a light unto man.
Gaston stopped for a moment to get a good pose in. He was going to show it off the next time he was in a village. People never really understood what it took to pull off these poses properly. They thought you can just walk up and boom, pose. Nope it does not work that way. You have to work hard, build your muscle, and practice your poses. Once they where perfect then you can show them off. "Crap wasted more time", spoke Gaston as he began to pick up the pace. He first needed to find some animal droppings and then find some foot prints. "Great going to be up all night", spoke Gaston as he began to check around some nearby trees. The burly man was already getting himself into the zone. He was writing his congratulations speech and making up the story how he hunted down the massive animal. "Yes it will all be perfect", spoke Gaston as he disappeared into the darkness.

Rixsch reached the village and walked to the nearest tavern. He took some gold out of the sack, just enough for a weapon, and put it in his pocket. He then dumped the sack on the bar and said "a night's lodging and a good meal please" he then looked around and smiled "and everyone's drinks are on me."
This caused everyone in the tavern to suddenly look up towards Rixsch, one nearly spitting out his drink. "What?" He asked "You think I'm gonna spend all this by myself. No, I'm happy enough, so all of you, drink and make merry!" As soon as Rixsch finished this speech, everyone in the tavern roared with delight. Soon after, Rixsch had eaten a good meal and lay down on a comfortable bed "ugh, well, thanks for everything, oh great Gaston." These words caused Rixsch to laugh slightly.
