Bee had made a bit of a name for herself after that work she did with Don. Sure they had nearly burned down the forest, but they did not and her skill with manipulating fire opened doors for her. Still Bee was not really a mercenary. She took that job because Don asked her too. She was not really truly interested in fighting for coin. She mostly fought in order to increase her skill in fire manipulation and to adjust herself for battles to come. Bee wanted to take down Guro and that meant that she needed to be good at combat. With that goal in mind Bee took a local job in Tania. It was a small province with a small military, but they had lots of heart. There however was a problem near the edge of the region. A group of undead had moved in from some of the more violent parts of Lycia. The monsters where even a threat here. A group of mercenaries, numbering about six or so had picked up the job to eliminate them. Bee had joined up with them as some back up and form what she heard there was going to be another mage joining them as well.
"so how many undead are there", asked Bee as she looked at there young commander. He was what, maybe three or four years older than she was and clearly not as exsperence as other mercenary leaders. Even the men under his command seemed green, and that was probably because they where. Most of them where the same age as Bee or a year older.
"There are about ten undead", spoke the man as everyone gathered outside the tavern. "From what I understand none of them are what they call Entombed so it should not be that much danger. Just keep your wits about you and remember your training", he spoke. Some how some way he went from talking to Bee to talking to everyone. It kind of made Bee a bit mad, as he was practically ignoring her, but the maiden kept it to herself. This was suppose to be a simple job right, thought Bee doubted it would be with this guy leading.

Lopey was saddling up his horse he heard his leader start moving. "Well Evelyn are you ready?" He inquired of his horse. However, Evelyn only whinnied in response. "This is my first job here so I'd better do it right or else I may not find work." He thought as he swung himself onto his horse. He quickly joined the back of the band of mercenaries and true to the commander's words when they spoke last night there was only one other person on a horse. He remebered meeting the captain in the inn last night. He seemed like a friendly enough person but he didn't have the air of traveler about him unlike I do, seeing as I came all the way from Etruia. There was a cavalier, an archer, a myrmidon, two knights and the captain, a fighter in the group with him. As he surveyed the group to make sure everyone was fine he noticed a young mage holding a fire tome near him.
"What's your name?" He asked the mage. "I'm Lopey, a troubadour I just joined his mercenary band yesterday."
"Although," he thought to himself, " that mage looks like she could bite or burn my head off I should get to know her seeing as we are both magic users."
He was kind of worried as he couldn't fight directly against the undead or "Entomed" as they called them in these parts but his adrenaline rush took care of his nervousness so he was quite energized

OCC: As a side note Lopey you need 250 words to get gold. This has to be on the first time you post, you can't go back and edit it. Trust me I have tried.
Bee looked up and saw the young man on a horse. She was expecting a mage or possibly a druid. Not a troubadour though. That caught her off guard. Then again it made sense. If you where going up against a enemy you don't really understand then it was best to bring a healer. A troubadour was a fast healer and fast healers make sure you are not dead. "Oh so that is you", spoke Bee with a cheerful smile. "Well my name is Bee. Bee spelled B E E, just like the insect without all the stinging. So you are a troubadour right", spoke the maiden as she looked at his staff. "Well to be truthful I was expecting another form of combat magic when I heard there was going to be another mage on the job, however I am glad to have a healer. That means I screw up and not completely bleed out for it", spoke Bee with a chuckle.
"Hey guys we are going to move out soon", spoke the leader as he walked up to the duo. "Make sure you have everything you need. We won't be back till we finish off the enemy."
"Understood boss man", spoke Bee as she grabbed the side of her bag. Bee had already prepared her stuff beforehand so she had little to actually worry about. "Well right Mr. Rider", spoke the maiden toward Lopey. "When we are out there try to stick close to the big guys in armor. They will probably need you less, but are the safest to be around."
-------- As the group of mercenaries set out to find there target Bee began to think on the battle that was yet to come. She heard a lot about the zombie threat, but never really seen one herself. Now she was going to go up against some in the flesh. Some of the rumors she heard however bothered her. Mainly the parts where people called fire magic ineffective. Bee was in fact a fire mage and the idea of her magic not being able to do the job disturbed her greatly.
"We got bitters", shouted the archer as he pulled out a arrow and shot it into a nearby bush. At the moment Bee was in though and as a result she was caught off guard when the undead began to pour out of the nearby bushes and assault the mercenaries.
"Crap we walked right into them", spoke Bee as one of the beast rushed forward and assaulted her with its claws. Swinging with power and speed Bee had not seen before the beast slashed into the maiden's shoulder causing her to fall over. "Crap", she spoke. One of the two knights rushed over and blocked the beast assault with his shield and began to push back against the monster.
"Medic", he shouted calling for assistance for Bee.

Ooc:I know but thanks for saying so!
IC:"Hey guys we are moving out soon", called the leader as he neared them. "Make sure you have everything you need. We won't be coming back till we finish off the enemy." "Ok, thanks for the advice Bee." After he finished talking he was about to review his inventory when he realized that he left his vulenary back in his room at the inn.
"I think I'll be fine because I'm not going to be actually fighting the zombies" he thought to himself, "It's the other mercenaries I should be worrying about, but I can't let them die, not like last time." As he was mentally preparing himself for the fight he noticed that they were getting farther and farther from the village
------------ The archer farthest away from him was the first to spot the undead. As he heard his call he spurred Evelyn on to reach the captain, he heard the call to heal someone from the knight so he shifted his target there. On the way he avoided most obstructions but he almost missed the knight. As he neared the knight he called "Who needs healing?"
The knight gestured to behind a bush with his shield while thrusting his lance at the zombies. When Lopey neared the bush he dismounted and was shocked at the sight.
"Sheesh, how'd you get such deep and infected wounds this early, Bee?" he said under his breath as he handed her an antitoxin and started healing her.

"Crap", spoke Bee to herself. Here she was at the start of the mission and already injured. It was a poor showing since she was the one who warned the rider about the zombies. He was suppose to be the one receiving protection from the knighs not Bee. The maiden however needed the bleeding to stop and to get back into the fight. Calling upon the magic in her tome Bee began to process of heating up a frying pan she brought with her and was prepared to cauterize the wound with heat when Lopey showed up. Naturally the healer let her have it about her wound and how early in the fight she had gotten it. It was to be expected, but Bee did not like it.
"It is not infected it is just a gash" spoke Bee as she let him do his work. The maiden took a portion of the anti toxin and sat still as the healer began began to use the power of his staff. However the undead had other plans. As he began to heal Bee heard the sound of another creature as it shuffled its way out of some bushes. With its claws ready it charged toward the duo. "Get back", shouted Bee as she motioned to push Lopey out of the way and deal with the monster. As it moved to swing Bee raised her hand. Her fire tome on the side of her belt lit up like a firefly. Bee snapped her fingers and gave a command to the fire spirits in the air. Immediately they gathered and created a flame and then suddenly expanded. The attack came off as a sudden eruption of fire that exploded catching the beast entire body on flames.
The undead stopped as the flames over its body caused it confusion. What little sight it had was completely gone as the fires skewered its view. Bee was shocked however as the beast continued to swing its arm's in a violent matter despite being on fire. However the maiden was not foolish enough to go toward the beast. Instead she backed up till the fire did its work and the monster fell to the ground dead. "So that is what they mean by disadvantage", spoke Bee as she looked down at the beast. "Lop you alright", yelled Bee as she gave the medic a nickname.

As he was healing her he still felt the same rush of euphoria that he had when he first held and used a staff on someone wounded, as well as feel the power of the spell contained in the rod. But then as he was finishing up he startled by a foul stench and a shout from Bee. He instinctively moved back as the maiden's arm swing his way. Confused he glanced at her and saw Bee's fire time glow when he realized that the stench's source was a zombie that had broken through their lines and was heading straight towards them! He heard Bee mutter something and the zombie burst into flames like a demonic flare. However, although the foul being was on fire it was still hurling its arms about.
Once the zombie was burnt to a crisp and its ashes were smoldering he heard Bee say something about a disadvantage and she also asked if he was alright. With a nickname no less! "I'm fine! How about you, and how many more uses of your tome do you have left? We might need lots more of it depending on the state of our band." he said as his realized that Bee didn't realize that she was right next to him. "Also can I have that antitoxin back? I'll need it to give to the other people if our undead enemy has any venomous claws." As he said this his rush of adrenaline wore of and his voice started to quiver slightly.

Wow that was embarrassing, thought Bee to herself. She had thought that Lopey had retreated or moved away. She was so focused on the zombie that she was not paying attention to anything else. That was a bad sign. If Bee did not get her head into the game then she could end up dead. It was this kind of dollying that got Bee slashed in the first place. "Oh sorry about that Lop", spoke Bee as she handed him the antidote. "The undead just came out of no where so I did not think to give it back to you."
"Aim for the head", shouted the leader as he began to direct the group. Many of the members where stabbing the beast in the body or the heart. They where all good kill spots for any other creature, but not for the undead. Like Bee's flames the undead where practically immune to any other blow other than to the brain. You can cut off there arms, stab them in the heart, and even set them on fire. It did not matter. Unless the grey matter was destroyed they would get back up and assault you all over again.
"My tome is fine", spoke Bee as she turned back to the troubadour. "I don't think it will be breaking any time soon. However I don't think my magic will be all that effective in this fight though. Setting the zombies on fire seems to be a bit counter productive. With there bodies on fire they can cause real damage, or worse set the entire woodland on fire. We can't have that. I already put out a wild fire before and trust me it is not a easy job."
"Mage to the front", shouted the leader. Bee was going to have to have a word with him about her magic, but at the moment she was just going to follow orders. He was the team leader after all.

"It's fine, I just wanted it back so I could use it again on someone else." said Lopey as the commander give the rest of the units a tip on how to beat the zombies. He already knew this tip however as he had observed that when Bee's fire hit the enemy its arms only stopped swinging, and it's legs stopped propelling it towards us when the flames had burned through the rest of its body and reached its head. It was getting dark and Lopey had a scientific guess that someone on his side would be dying tonight seeing as our human visiblility would decrease and our moves would get more sluggish but the zombie's vision and moves would remain static as the night wore on. As Bee finished talking about how burning zombies would be bad he smiled and said, "Did you start the wildfire?" but Bee was already too far away to hear.
After he watched Bee move away he put his foot into one of the stirrups of his horse, Evelyn, he fumbled, and lost his balance and completely fell land right flat on his back. He got up and looked around quickly but fortunately no person or zombie had seen his possibly fatal blunder. As he was riding towards the archer and knight about six yards away, he let out a piercing shriek of terror. There was a group of about seven zombies who had come in from behind and we're headed straight towards him!

"Hey boss man", spoke one of the knights as he stabbed his lance though the head of a undead. "How many undead did they say where located here", he asked as he looked around.
"The report says ten", spoke the leader as he cleaved through the skull of a undead beast. It was pretty clear to anyone at this point that there where more than ten undead. The number of undead dead on the ground told that.
"Leave it to Tania to give us bad information", spoke the archer as he pulled back on his bow and fired a spiked wooden rod, aka arrow, into a creatures skull. "We need some more fire power."
"More fire power coming up", spoke Bee as she rushed to the front of the line.
"Oh good the mage is here", spoke the leader as he began to point toward three shambling corpses. "I want you to take those three out with your fire magic." Bee was quite for a moment as she began to think on the results of her last attempt to take down some Zombies. The flames only really made it worse, thought she was not going to tell there leader that. She needed to be useful after all if she wanted to get paid.
Bee closed her eyes and began to draw upon the power of her tome. Her book began to light up as Bee gave the fire spirits a command. Snapping her finger as usual Bee summoned up a small bolt of flame. Creating a small ball aiming toward the center of a zombie pack. Suddenly that ball expanded and burned out. The flames from that attack caught the three zombies on fire along with the grass around them, not that it mattered. Most of it was dead or being stumped out.
It was then that Bee heard the sound from Loop that there was trouble. "You guys deal with the burning zombies", spoke Bee as she moved to aid there healer leaving the burning shambling corpses assaulting the leader..

As the zombies started actually noticing him and not just heading in his general direction, he spurred his horse into a gallop, away from them. When he reached the spot he had healed Bee, his horse was exhausted, "I'm sorry Evey, it was necessary. I'll give you lots of apples back in town." he said stroking his horses head and thinking,"I need Bee or a knight to save me now."Then he noticed the mage. "Speak of the devil, there she is." he muttered to himself as he cantered up to a small rise in the battlefield. In hindsight he should have went over there because he realized that he never actually saw the knight or the archer stationed on that edge of the battlefield.
As he surveyed the battlefield the zombies out-numbered them 2 to 1 not counting him. The units remaining were one of the archers, one of the knights, the captain, Bee and himself. That meant the cavalier, the myrmidon, 1 of the archers, and one of the Knights had died. The terrain is slightly hilly in an arid region and the time was 11:15 pm. He saw that there were actually 5 zombies approaching him, not 7 as he saw at first glance. As Bee neared him he shouted, "I could use your assistance right now!" "Also need any healing? I feel pretty useless right now so just ask if you need something." He wanted no not wanted but needed to keep Bee alive. He couldn't bear another young death.

"Oh crap", spoke Bee as she looked at the approaching zombies. This was bad, she thought there where like five of them. If they died like normal men then it would not be as much of a problem ,but Zombies seem to just keep walking when she used fire. If only she had fire that had some weight. Maybe a exploitation. If she could find a way to make her fire spells explode rather than simply burn that would do it. However doing something like that would take some time and a understanding. If she was off by herself she could experiment and get it to happen, but right now she was in battle and time for trying out something new was not at hand. Bee was just going to have to go with another one of her advance moves.
"I am fine", spoke Bee, thought her arm ached a bit. "Just fall back toward the captain and the others. I am sure they could use some healing right about now", spoke Bee as she closed her eyes and began to focus. The five Zombies began to move her way, thanks to her shouting and the light shinning off her tome. "Wiggily Woo wiggily Wee, Burn them dead or Burn me", shouted Bee as two orbs of fire appeared in both her hands. The speech was not needed, but Bee had practiced this spell with it. By combining the words and the motions Bee was able to memorize how to control the fire spirits and make them move the way she desired them too. It was a little trick she picked up along her journey.
"Burn", shouted Bee as she opened her eyes. Two of the zombies where soon upon her, Bee was calm. The maiden stretched out her palms and two jets of fire shot out of it like arrows. Bee had controlled the flames so that they came our almost like a drill instead spitting everywhere. It was controlled heat and controlled fire. The two jets slammed straight into the heads of the two oncoming undead. The flames melted the flesh off there bones leaving nothing left but there charred skulls. As the other three approached Bee turned her hands inward and sent the fire to a single point where it began to swirl around itself and create a ball.
"Ifrit's Gaze", shouted Bee as she began to pool the flames into a fire ball. This attack took a lot more effort and would take a bit of time.

He stared as Bee changed the fire spirit's energy to something under her control with words he knew were unnecessary and shot fire at the 2 zombies closer to her. He thought back to the time a wandering Mage had come to he monastery. He had come when he and the monk were having dinner so Lopey answered the door. Lopey was 8 at the time but he had had no contact with mages other than the Bishop who ran the monastery so he was quite intimidated. The Mage dined with them and then had a discussion in the sitting quarters that Lopey wasn't allowed to be in, but he listened anyway. "Who's the child you've got there? the wandering Mage asked the bishop. "He is an orphan who I am caring for Cedric. Be kind to him, he is a kind boy." the bishop replied with a smile. "Is he at all skilled in magic?" the Mage, Cedric, asked. "Yes, he can see magic spirits and use a heal staff." answered the Bishop. But after this they got up and Lopey scurried to his room.
At this point, Lopey moved to stand slightly behind the fire mage and glimpsed the rest of their army. They had finished destroying all of the zombies near their side and were sleeping oddly enough. The remaining three zombies were still approaching Bee and he realized that the spell Bee was charging up would finish in time to burn the zombies before they attacked us. So Lopey grabbed her arms and hoisted her onto his horse carefully so she could still concentrate on the spell and Evelyn started to move away from the zombies but still keeping them targeting her.

"What the", spoke Bee as Lopey touched her. She had not expected him too and as a result she lost control of the spell for a moment. A bit of the fire spat out from the source, but Bee quickly took back control and refocused the magic. She wanted to yell at him for touching her while she was charging magic, but she needed all her concentration on finishing the spell before the zombies where in attack range. It proved to be a wise decision as the troubadour some how managed to get her onto the horse without her breaking her spell and move away a bit. This give her more time to finish her spell and sent the last three ghouls straight to hell.
"Burn", shouted Bee as she raised her right hand. The fire ball pulled into the air above her head as the Zombies moved close to attack the horse. They where just the right length apart from each other. With a evil smile Bee sent the fire ball down hurling toward the beasts. The massive ball of fire slammed into the three of them and immediately set them on fire. There bodies flailed around in flames, but the heat from the fire put a quick and sudden end to it. The flesh on there bodies began to melt off as the smell of cooked meat filled the air. Bee stared on as the fires consumed there bodies. She could not help but be mesmerized by the flames.
"There is no more pure flame", spoke Bee as she stared at the burning corpses. Giving herself a moment she jumped off the horse and put her feet back on solid ground. Bee hated riding on horseback. She liked having her feet on the earth. It allowed her to move and get a better understanding of her surroundings.

"Are you ok! I'm really sorry for breaking your concentration. I just figured it could work and tried it." Lopey blushed profusely from emberasment as he apologized to Bee. He had a some what impulsive streak in battles if he thought he had a good idea. As he spoke he realized that his horse was covered in small scratches from the underbrush. He quickly got out his heal staff and started working on his horse's many little nicks and scratches. His healing reminded him of the first time he and his horse had meet, in woods akin to these ones.

OCC: Probably best to end the thread and star a new one. As a tip for writing characters if you are trying to make up words and make the character flow go back into there motivations and what they are thinking. You can waste a lot of words simply describing facial expressions and chain of thoughts. Doing a healer is hard as healers don't have combat to push them. You chose a hard rode to be honest. Try talking to Remus for advice he is one of the most successful healers. Also you can join up in the Cbox.
IC: "Holy crap", spoke Bee as they finished off the last of the undead. She was surpised that this battle was as hard as it was. The group's main problem was that they got ambushed. If they had taken it slow and scouted out the area they might have been able to avoid most of the undead and fought them on there terms. However with them arching right into the group it made there formation break down and cause so much trouble. If this guy was going to remain leader of a group of mercenaries then he was going to have to shape up. They got luck this time, but the next time they might not be so much. Bee sure is not going to be with them next time. She could not trust her life to the guy.
"Forget about it", spoke Bee toward Lopey. "If you had not moved me then I would have had to use the spell early. Not to mention you patched up my wound after I got hurt. If it was not for you then my skin would have a second scar on it." Bee was tempted to roll up her shirt and show him the wound, but she had a second thought and figured it was not a good idea. It would probably cause some problems and start some rumors. Bee hated rumors more than anything.
"Well lets go report back in so we can get paid", spoke Bee as she stretched her arms behind her back. She was starting to feel the effects of using so much magic. It was nothing compare to that one time she had to stop a wild fire, but it was still enough to make Bee need to streach. She was truly learning to control her new tome, but it would take a lot of practice for her to reach true mastery. Still there was coin in her pocket and a job well done that was enough for her.
