"A bit", spoke the maiden as she swung the sword. "The blade is heavier than normal as well. Orcleous said he like a bit of weight on his swords. It made it less effective when it comes to stabbing, but it was adventitious when your hacking", she spoke as she swung the blade. Her arms where starting to burn as she reached the number seventy. "Even still I like the sword", spoke the maiden. "It has a advantage against the monsters that roam the land and does well against in a fight. This sword has saved my life at least twice now. One of the main reasons I like having it at my side", she spoke as she reached eighty.
"As for Orcleous", she spoke as she turned the conversation back to her master. "I don't understand him sometimes. At some points he is virtual and at others he is all about profit. At times he will risk his life just because and at others he will refuse and simply walk away. The way he is I can not figure out what his goal is. If I don't understand his goals then I can't predict what he will do. If I can't predict I can't control and if I can not control him then things might happen that I don't want to happen. Essentially he is sometimes chaotic and I don't like chaotic. Everything must have some kind of order to it. The last time things went wack I was on a carriage to god knows where and that carriage was attacked by monsters. Order is control, order is safety", she spoke as she finished the last of her swings. As she finished the sun started to rise. "Hopefully we will reach Bern by tomorrow", she spoke as she placed the sword back into its scabbard. "I hope I can get that bath soon starting to feel gross", she spoke as she began to walk toward the tent.

Marle clicked that word against her tongue clicking the roof of her mouth a little bit. Virtual, what did that mean? She didn't want to seem stupid infront of someone who was much younger than her, so she left it be, nodding softly, while placing a good deal of her weight into her her spear as it held her up. Still, she didn't really like hjow the girl talked. It made her feel uneasy. Rubbing at the back of her neck, straightening out her shoulder-length hair, Marle begun spinning her lance, after dropping her shield to the ground. it was a prctice of control, especially with the double ended blade she had equipped.
As the General joined in for the practice, she made upward jabs, then down, followed by a spin of the lance over and then giving the tip a swing upwards, as if she were fighting with a staff. "The way you mention control, you sort of speak how like the old Bern government used to. Control bringing order, you cannot control people to free them, or make them safe. Controlling another person is a more selfish way of feeling safe about yourself. I think you should be a bit more relaxed with the man." Planting the lance hard into the ground, she looked over the girl, sharing that sort of same sentiment. "A bath would be good, you have no idea how hot it gets in this armor. It's a pain honestly." She didn't expect to change Xeldine's mind, but maybe broaden her horizons. Everything afterall was only her opinion. She never expected anyone to listen.

OCC: Should have been virtues, I spell checked it and well you know
"It is not like I am trying to control him like a puppet or anything", spoke Xeldine as she tried to defend her words. "I just don't want things to end up like last time." With that she walked into the tent. Orcleous was still laid out asleep. The Hero took as much rest as he cool and when he slept there was no form or straightness to it. One could say it was a weakness, but to Orcleous it was a blessing. He knew far to many soldiers, mercenaries, and would be heroes who could not sleep well at night. At the very least Orcleous had that."
"Hey Orc wake up", shouted Xeldine as she tried to wake the Hero from his slumber. Orc was to far gone for that. The young maiden was amazed sometimes that he was even alive. She was sure some brigand would walk up onto him sleeping in his camp and slit his throat. Rather than waste her voice or get to close Xeldine took a pillow and tossed it at Orcleus face. As the thing hit him Orcleous rushed into action. "Invaders", he shouted grabbing the iron sword lying next to him. He was quite surprise when he saw it was just Xeldine.
"Oh it is just you", spoke Orcleous as he looked up at her. The light inching through the flap on the tent told him that it was morning. "Crap", he spoke as he rubbed his hair. It had grown pretty long over time. Orcleous was going to need to cut it later.
"Good morning to you too Orcleous", spoke Xeldine as she stared at him. The maiden thought back to the other women's words, but threw it off. "By the way what happened to that conversation about you wearing a shirt when you are sleeping."
"What conversation", spoke Orcleous as he pulled himself off the ground and grabbed his shirt next to him. "You spoke, I nodded and went back to what I was doing", spoke the Hero. Orcleous walked over to his bag and pulled out his water bottle. Chugging a bit of it and throwing it back into the bag Orcleous grabbed his stuff and walked out the tent. "It is your time to put away the tent", he spoke as he walked outside and greeted the General.
"Your still here", he spoke as he placed his breastplate over his shoulder and strapped in the side buckles. "I made a bet with myself that you would have left by morning. Nah, just messing, figured you would stay", spoke the Hero as he grabbed Xigshaw out the dirt and cleaned it off with a rag. He then strapped it back onto the straps he used to keep it on his back.
"Hopefully we can reach the northern mountains by nightfall", spoke the hero. As Xeldine took down the tent Orcleous began to dig into the food bag. There where a few pieces of bear jerky left and a few more preserved morsels. Orcleous began to chew on the bear jerky as he motioned to the general if she wanted a piece.

Ah...the sun sure was nice as it rose. She was left alone, but she remembered the girls words, not having tried to stop her from her duties. Apparently there was more to Xeldine's actions than she had known. At least there was a purpose to her rudeness, not one she could fathom, mind, only having been interacting with the pair a whole day. She would follow behind much more slowly. She was more or less already to go, just needing to load up her donkey, who was already awake with all the ruckus.
She tried not to eavesdrop as the two were in the tent together, but well, this proximity made it impossible. She didn't understand why Xeldine was so opposed to the man not wearing a shirt. Most men did that afterall, it was common. Perhaps there was more to their relationship than she cared to analyze about. Bowing her head to the swordsman, Marle slung her spear into the holster prepared on her back, tugging and attaching her shield to her bracer so she need not carry it.
"Oh, that's good to hear. it'd be a fool thing for me to do, cut and run like that, when I have no idea where I'm going still."
She allowed herself to chide the man somewhat, but further agreeing. it would be splendid to reach those mountains soon. A change in scenery would be a nice thing to have. Waving her hand dismissively to the offer, being quite full already, though she did take the time to drink water from the skin she kept. She would really need a refill soon, being on her last two bags for the day.

"Here", spoke Xeldine as she walked up to Orcleous and handed him the bag that held the tent. The maiden had a annoyed expression on her face as she did so. She hated putting up the tent. It took to much time and took a delicate hand. However it had to be done and Orcleous was not going to do it every night. He use too, but now he made her help. Though the rotation he set up made a little sense. The one who did not put up had to carry the bag so at the very least Orcleous would be carrying it this time and not herself.
"Right", spoke Orcleous as he threw the bag straps over his shoulder. Orcleous hated to carry the dang tent bag, but he was the one who made the rotation so he could not complain. If you asked him thought it should be Xeldine's job. Orcleous earned the gold, bought the food, and payed for everything. The least she could do was carry the tent. Though his conscious would not let him stress the point. If his mother found out that he was making a young girl carry stuff around like a pack muel she would give him a ear full.
"Carrying your weapon with you this time", spoke Orcleous as he noticed she had her spear on her. Well it pays to be cautious. Not to mention with the northern mountains coming into sight. The Bern mountains are known for there bandits. The birgands have a way of sneaking up on you and ambushing you when you don't expect it. Orcleous and the group would have to be more careful form now on. "Alright lets go", spoke Orcleous as the trio began there journey. Orcleous had to say that this trip was turning out to be a long one. Though the excellent conversation helped speed it along its way.
"By the way I almost forgot", spoke Orcleous as the group moved a hour or so into the trip. "We are going to pass the river before we hit the northern mountains. I was going to refill the water containers while we are there, but do any of you want to make a stop. I know you been complaining about the muck and grime for a while", spoke Orcleous as he looked at Xeldine.

Witha heft of her weapon, she gave a curt nod. "That's right, since we're close to Bern now, I wouldn't want to be caught unawares." She almost looked liek she was dressed for full on battle. All she needed now was her helmet, and she'd be ready to go. For now, she carried her one lance on her, while the other two were slung on her back. The steel in her hands of a finely balanced weight from end to end. it felt nice in her hands, proper. one was so light it felt like a toy, and the other, well...should anyone come riding a wyvern seeking a fight, that would be the way to deal with the beast.
She seemed to perk a little whle downing another mouthful of water. The river huh, that would be nice. Leading her donkey over to her bags, she was quick to bucke the straps around the creature, checking to see if there was any loose weight, but all in all, she was ready to head out, just as soon as Xeldine and Orcleous were ready.
"That's good news. I need to fill up on water, so that would be the best in my case..." She then pondered about taking a bath, shaking her head. it would take too long to get out of all her armor for something like that, but she would be good for stopping. "I'm good for stopping if Xeldine wants to take a dip."

"Of course I want to stop", spoke Xeldine as she looked at her skin. Her eyes some how could see the dirt despite the fact that Orcleous could not tell. Maybe it was because Orcleous was a dirty person could not tell. He took baths of course, just not when he was out on the road. Way to much trouble and left your to vulnerable in his book. Maybe when he was at a inn he would. "You know you should probably go for a dip too", spoke Xeldine as she looked at Orcleous. "You are starting to stink."
"Really", spoke Orcleous as he raised his arm and attempted to smell himself. "Bah, I don't smell anything", he spoke.
"That is because you are dirty", spoke the maiden. "Anyway how much longer till we reach the river", she asked. Orcleous looked around for a bit to get his baring. He knew where they where at just not the point. It took a moment, but the Hero was able to give a suitable answer.
"About a hour or two away", spoke Orcleous. "However I am going to say that you should not doddle at the river. Not only is this open country and the threat of bandits is high, but there might be other people."
"Other people", spoke Xeldine as she looked at him. It took a moment, but it dawned on her what Orcleous was saying. "On second thought we can skip the baths till we get to a inn", she spoke as she began to speed up a bit. Orcleous could swear she was blushing.
"Well that was easy", spoke the Hero out of ear shock toward Xeldine. The Hero did not want to make the stop. Even after they reached Bern they had a long way to go. They had a few mountains to climb and a few stops to make. Orcleous needed to see some of his old contacts and figure out what is going on before he just walked into the region. "So what do you think our chances of running into bandits are", spoke Orcleous as he looked at the general. The hero was more tense than ever. He knew the closer they got to the river the higher the threat level was. Like in nature bandits hunted near the river banks. Everyone needed water and they knew that more than most travelers did.
After a hour and a half of walking the group reached the river banks. They where making good time. As they approached Xeldine took out two large jugs out of her bag and stuck them into the river. She needed to collect as much as possible. Orcleous did the same, but only filled them one at a time. While one bottle was under he kept a eye on the hills.

Tugging that donkey along, the General began making her way back to the road, before coming up along side the other two. Two hours away, really? Probably should have set up camp around there then. Either way, she didn't really care too much of the distance that was between here and there. It was on the way, so it was plenty good enough for the woman. She would blink at the sudden change of hear Xeldine showed, not understanding.
"Wait, why the change of heart?"
It seemed a little silly to change her convictions like that. If the positions were reversed, she would like to stay and have that bath, damn people who were already there. She didn't need to unclothe fully to just have a bath. Shaking her head, the woman trod along, waiting for that answer, her eyes went off towards the mountains. They were close, but these mountains seemed alot smaller than the mountain range she crossed through Ilia to Sacae.
"Huh...getting close now...is there anything set up along the roads, like a toll or anything that I should know?"
The General used that lance of her's like a walking stick to keep herself supported. Her shield was heavy afterall. it did well to offset the difference in weight. All the while, , with every step, the butt of her lance it the ground, making loud metallic ringing as it hit stone beneath it, or soft little thuds on the packed dirt underfoot.

"Because I don't like peeping toms', spoke Xeldine as she shouted back. "When I take a bath I want to enjoy the water and bask in the cleanliness. Not look over my shoulder to see if some middle age freak was staring at me. The thought of it sends chills down my spine", spoke the maiden as she held her arms.
"Not like there is much to see", spoke Orcleous chiming in. It was a little pay back from all the stuff she did before. Believe it or not the Hero could hold a grudge.
"What was that", she spoke as she began to his like a snake. Words came out of her mouth, but Orcleous drowned her out. Instead he focused on there heavily armored companion.
"A toll", spoke Orcleous as he began to think back in his memory. "Not that I remember. "The only thing of note that I remember when I passed through last time was a boarder guard outpost. It was not that far from there and a few of the men would question travelers coming in. They left me alone as I was going out. Though now that I think about it I am not so sure about which side of the conflict those men where on. At the time I did not care and did not think to much about it, but it could prove a problem if you made yourself too known."
"Essentially what he is saying is don't go screaming the Ilia national anthume as we come in. Believe it or not I don't want to be skewered by a spear over a stupid conflict I have nothing to do with."
"That could have been worded better", spoke Orcleous.
"Go jump in a river", spoke Xeldine. She was still mad at Orcleous earlier comment.
"To be honest", spoke Ocleous. "I think we will be fine. The boarder guard should not give travelers to much trouble and I have a few papers showing myself as a mercenary and a citizen of Bern. With those we should be able to pass anybody's check point rebellion or no."

Ah, that made sense. She had never really considered peeping toms. All the baths were enclosed in Ilia, and bathing ina river? Well, that was one way to die. Humming that thought to herself, she did inwardly laugh at how much it bothered the younger girl. Marle wasn't really affected by such thoughts, never really considering herself any kind of maiden. Just a soldier.
Lifting up her spear, the General rested across her shoulders, looked to the two she was interested to hear if there was a poll. She too, had prepared papers, but it was good they still had border guards. That still meant that there was a body of power...but who ran it, loyalists or Rebels? in her mind, it was probably rebels. She wondered how they went about accepting mercenaries into the country. A vast majority of them were from Ilia, and Ilian mercenaries weren't exactly loyal to their country afterall, which made things complicated. If she were to fight against the Rebels and they employed them, she'd be killing kinsmen, and that deeply bothered her. Money sure did make people do weird things.
"Yeah yeah, I got that." She turned her eyes to Xeldine, narrowing them some. Was she making fun of her? "Don't look at it so negatively. Atleast you'd get a conversation starter from being being skewered." Sghe couldn't conceal that grin that worked over her face.
Rolling her shoulders again, lest they get stiff, she had to pull that donkey along. Guessing it was trying to stop and eat again, despite the lax amount she put on the reigns. Turning, she frowned at the beast. it was so handy to have, but also an immense bother for the General, making her kind of regret bringing it.

"That is a conversation I would rather not have", spoke Xeldine as she tried to break away from the topic. She had forgotten that the General was actually dangerous. Even thought the comment had no true ill intent Xeldine picked up on the possibilities. Orcleous warned her before about picking fights she could not win. It would not surpise her if he let her dig her own grave, thought she was sure he would step in ... right. Once again she was confused about the muscle bound lunk. Virtues and pragmatic, you never know which side of the coin he is on at a particular moment.
"Oh right I have been meaning to ask", spoke Orcleous as he looked back at the general pulling her donkey along. "Who made your armor. It seems to be of some fine quality. I had been thinking about upgrading mine at some point, but was wondering about the weight and strength. I never fought in full plate before, but from what I heard you needed to have it designed specifically to your body. If not it would cause problems during combat."
"Your looking to wear armor", spoke Xeldine as she looked at Orcleous. "If you did that then you would loss speed, and if I remember correctly you told me that speed was a vital part in combat with a sword. How is wearing plate armor going to help your sword skills."
"Well first off", spoke Orcleous as he once again began to share wisdom with his foolish apprentice. "I said speed of hand was important to swordsmenship. Speed of hand and speed of movement are two different things. Second speed is important in a fight, don't get it twisted. However if I add armor I can up my defense and not have to dodge as much. It is useful when fighting against tough opponents and enemies that catch you off guard."
"Still seems silly to me", spoke Xeldine. "I would rather move fast and take advantage of my enemy openings than simply try and take hits and shrug off the damage."
"Well you are a skinny women with fast feet. I am a burly man with broad shoulders. Speed is already difficult for me to begin with. Adding armor just", spoke Orcleous when he saw a glint of light coming from behind a misplaced bolder. Orcleous had noticed it at first and figured it rolled down from the nearby mountain, but once he saw the flash of light something more sinister came to his mind. Without missing beat Orcleous slammed his hand into Xeldine's chest pushing the young maiden down. A moment later a arrow flew by where her head was and hit the ground.
"Dang I missed", spoke a burly man as he walked from behind the rock.
"What was that for ...", spoke Xeldine as she looked up at Orcleous serious face. She then saw the arrow stuck in the ground and realized what was going on. "Are we under attack", she spoke as she pulled herself off the ground and drew Orcleous sword. The maiden quickly pulled his kite shield as well off her back and held it up in a defensive stance.

Marle was a little too pleased by the reaction sparked by Xeldine. It was pretty obvious that she meant absolutely nothing by it, but now and then, the woman liked to be a little controversial, it made things more interesting. Having an inward chuckle, the General gave a look at Orcleous, a look of intrigue. he wanted to know about her armor? Ah, how nice it was someone took interest in the craftsmanship of her splendid regalia. "Ah, this? Is it to your fancy? Well, there is a man named Eamon in Arphen. he crafted this for me as a custom order, for my appointment as captain of my unity. it wasn't cheap, and he did not do it for free, but I am glad I did it. Truth be told, he only actually did the plate itself, there's much more to my armor than that, there's the chainmail and padded cloth as well."
A smile shone over those lips, quite happy to share. No one ever seemed interested in it, most even shunned her for wearing it, much like how Xeldine was now teasing Orcleous about his interest in wearing higher quality armor. Still, it was probably just because he was being very broad in his explanation of why he would like to wear armor, but eh didn't have things quite right. it was probably better to fill in there. "Well, you're mostly right. The armor his it's clear advantages and disadvantages. Of course, it lets you take a hit, but just because it won't cut you, does not necessarily mean it won't hurt you. The armor ends up making you have much more bruises and broken bones than I care to admit. That hammer of yours, Orc, would probably do quick work if I let you hit me with it, so you must remained trained at evasion, but be conservative with motion. it's hard to move in this, after all.."
That was when the arrow flew out of nowhere. She didn't really realize it until Orc reacted. Marle was just too engrossed in her explaination. Immediately, she rose that shield of hers, where another arrow let fly in her direction, harmlessing clinking off that large shield. From afar, the sound of dis-satisfaction rose and could be heard. Letting go of the reigns to the donkey, she moved quickly and took the Helmet that hung from the side, placing it atop her head. It had no faceplate, but the helmet swept downwards, like a beak overhead. While she finished donning her full gear, more bodies began to push over the hill, rising up one by one. It was quite impressive. She didn't think that there'd be anyone is in this area.
"Hey, look on the bright side, atleast we get to see what your apprentice can do. Maybe she can back up all that talk!" Clearly, the General was not taking this too seriously. She was...pretty confident in her abilities.

Great Bandits, thought Orcleous. Here they where having a interesting conversation about armor. Some of that information could have been useful to him. Still Orcloeus had to deal with what he had to deal with. The brigands did not look that tough, but they had numbers, which made them powerful. As they began to move in Xeldine moved a bit close to Orcleous. It was a smart tactic to group up. It made fighting easier, thought Orlcoeus thought it was more of a crutch for the maiden than a help.
"Maybe she could", spoke Orcleous to the surprise of Xeldien. However he was not going to let her have a moment that easy. "If she actually used her own sword", he added to the end, which made a frown cross her face. Orcleours pulled Xigshaw off his back and held the hammer ready for battle.
"I am using my own sword", spoke the maiden as she looked at Orcleous Silver Blade. The brigands had moved in and where ready to attack. The first one charged with a fury matched by only a mad man. Orcleous, holding his magical hammer, had the option to knock his head into the sunset, but rather than do that he decided it would be a good opportunity to show off his skill with his blade.
"How in the world did my sword become yours", spoke the Hero as he tossed the mighty war hammer to the brigand. The motion caught the bandit off guard and instinctively he moved to catch the weapon. The weight of it sent him falling to the ground with Xigshaw pinning him into place. The magical hammer would not find him worthy and as a result would not sare any of its power with him. Orcleous, now weaponless, drew the iron sword from his shield and charged forward toward one of the bandits.
"Have you not heard of spoils of war", spoke Xeldine as a brigand brought down his axe. The maiden had rushed forward with her shield and had allowed the axe to strike the side of the kite shield as it came down. The blade was then forced to slide down the side of the sheild rather than come down straight onto her. Seeing a opening she stabbed forward with her blade attempting to claim the brigan's heart. However the man leaned back dodging the blow and struck out using his hand.
With expert timing Orcleous twisted his sword and cut the forearm of the brigand off before turning his blade back to another of the unwashed heathens. As the man swung his his blade Orcleous forced a clash in mid air temporary putting a stop to the man's assault. "Spoils of war only count when you actually...", spoke Orcleous as he broke through the brigand's guard. He then stabbed his sword through the man's chest and ripped it out the right side. "win a fight", spoke Orcleous not skipping a beat. "The last few fights you have been in have been down right pathedic."

Were those two for real? Marle didn't turn her head away from the enemy, but instead averted her eyes towards Orcleous. Were they seriously still bickering, even with the threat of danger? She couldn't believe it. She thought they were a bit more composed than that. Despite that though, they were competent, atleast Orcleous was. When he through that hammer, well, she was a little surprised. Hobnestly she was much more interested to see what he could manage with that weapon. An idle thought of seeing a man fly sure would have been funny.
Ping!
The arrow bounced harmlessly off her shoulder, bringing her back into reality. Really, what was the archer trying to do, annoy her to death? This armor wouldn't let an arrow through, not one of that caliber anyways. It was good though that the arrow did hit, she almost had forgotten about the two men coming down at her. Both with swords, typical. The first of thew two trying to bull rush her with an attack that she saw coming a mile away. With that sword raised up, Marle took the brunt of his hit on her shield, but the weight of him behind it caused her to stagger some, having to step back, The other man, well, he wasn't too bright, attacking in on her right side, where she held that lance. As he closed the distence, like a flash, that lance thrust forwards, driving into his chest and between the bones of the ribs. The body slumped on the end of her lance, until she pushed back again with another thrust, to unlodge him and toss him back.
Dealing with the man who tried to brute force his way past her shield, she redoubled her strength, boots digging in hard as she pushed him back slowly. The man was larger than her, but she was stronger. it was like comparing the strength of a horse to an ox. With a quick push, the knight drove him back into a stumble, where she immediately charged with shield raised, to knock him over the rest of the way. The sword fell from his hand as his back met the ground, and with Marle walking over him, She dropped that shield onto his neck, crushing his windpipe.
Turning her gaze upwards, she saw more incoming, but she slowly moved herself closer to the other two again. it seemed a better way to form a bulwark as they started to charge down. "Honestly you two, is this your relationship? You love eachother so much to bicker in battle?" With her lance raised alongside of her shield, she lashed out at one who got nearby, catching his foot by piercing the ground next to it, having aimed for the foot though, and the crossguard on her lance, tripping him up, Reeling back, she relentlessly stabbed him in the back with his face in the dirt, not just once, but twice, for good measure. She was unafraid of the whole myth that it was cowardly to stab someone in the back, why bother letting this fool get up to attack her?

"Crap", spoke Xeldine as she raised Orcleous' silver sword in her defense. The maiden blocked a blow from a enemy axe. However the force was so great that it caused her to take a step back. The time she needed to maintain her guard ate up the time for a counter attack. The brigand took full advantage and struck back at the maiden again. His blade was once again blocked, but the force pushed her back once more. Now fear started to set in as the brigand began to get into a roll. The young novice was being overwhelmed by the man's brute force and Orcleous knew exactly how it would end.
"Less focus on mouth more on blade", spoke Orcleous as he used her iron blade to deflect a oncoming axe strike. The hero needed to pull off and help his apprentice and the brigand knew it. In order to take advantage of this and prevent him from giving aid he pressed his attack. Swinging his axe in a circular motion he began to throw attack after attack at Orcleous. He hoped the hero would loss focus enough to get cut, or he could hold him in place till his friend finished off the young girl with a chip on her shoulder. However Orcleous was not going to allow either of those.
Jumping back to create space Orcleous placed both hands on the hilt of the sword. The axe men rushed forward with his weapon coming down from the air. It was the perfect strike as orcleous stance did not allow him to roll. However Orcleous had no intention to roll in the first place. As the man brought his axe down Orcleous swung the maiden's sword with the full force of his arm. The blade smashed into the axe with exceptional force. The blow however was to much for the sword to bare and the impact caused the iron sword to break. However the axe was not unharmed from the clash. The bow caused the man's weapon to be blown away as Orcleous strength far outmatched his even with a downward strike.
'Now', thought Orcleous in his mind as he saw a opening. Taking a step in Orcleous channeled the natural energy into his right arm. With the full weight of his body and the enhancement power of the natural energy that flowed through his body Orcleous slammed this fist into the center of the man's chest. The blow hit with a great force as the brigan's body shot backwards like a arrow from a bow. "Smite", spoke Orcleous as he watched the man's body fly forward into the boulder the first brigand was hiding behind. His body slammed into the stone and fell lifeless to the ground. If Orcleus had to guess he figured he killed him when his punched first hit. The Hero had aimed the blow directly at the man's heart after all. If that was not the killer blow than it was the rock. Still Orcleous did not have time to debate or think on that matter he had to save his fool hardy apprentice.
"Excuse me", spoke Orcleous he put his right hand on the handle of Xigshaw. The mighty warrior picked the weapon up with one hand freeing the bandit stuck underneath. At the moment Orcleous did not worry about the man. The way hammer had been pressing him since Orcleous first threw it on him. Right now he was simply trying to catch his breath and recover. While he was coughing and doing whatever it was he was doing Orcleous turned his attention to the brigand that was getting dangerously close to cutting down the thorn in his side.
Crap, crap, crap, crap, capr, shouted Xeldine in her mind as she was being forced back by the birgand. Every blow he struck the more powerful he seemed to become. Slowly buts surely he began to grind down on her. His axe rattled her muscles and fear ate at her nerves. She wanted nothing more than to flee in terror, but the attack where coming to quickly for her to retreat. She was at the mercy of his axe as the brigand stuck repeatedly at her.
"Die maggot so I can take your stuff", shouted the man as he stuck her blade. Finally he reached the point he wanted. As he struck her last strike Xeldine's guard was knocked all the way back. She was open. She would not be able to pull her arms back in time to block his blow. Pulling back on his weapon the Brigand moved to slay the fair maiden. He had already picked out a place on the wall that he would place her skull.
As the bandit pulled back to make his swing a great shadow appeared above him. The man turned around to look and it was the last thing he saw. Orcleous had brought down the hammer, quite literally and figuratively. A loud boom filled the air as the earth was knocked out the way of the great hammer. There was nothing left of the man, but a imprint of what use to be him.
"Xeldine sit back and watch", spoke Orcleous as he turned his back to the maiden. A angered expression crossed the maiden's face as Orcleous ture message reached her. 'Stay back you are to weak', the words bounced around in her head and fired up anger in her heart as The Hero walked forward to take care of the problem. There where not that many bandits left, as there was not that many of them to begin with, but Orcloeus. Well he plan to trim there numbers a lot more.
"Hey I can", she spoke, but Orcleous took off running. Charging toward the remaining Brigand Orcleous held the massive Warhammer ot the side almost as if he was holding a great sword. Quickly the brignad with the bow turned his gaze from the armored general and placed it upon the charging her. He fired his first shot, but unfortunately for him it was off. The arrow slammed into the war hammer and deflected off to god knows where. However Orcleous was still standing. With a rage equal to that of a Beserker Orcloeus rushed in with Xigshaw in hand. The Hero slammed his weapon into the archer. The swing not only crushed the man's body like paper, but also shattered the boulder the brigand where hiding behind earlier. Xeldine stared with axe and fear as Orcleous began to tear into the brigand using the full might of Xigshaw.
