A decade, that's how long WotW has been around. We've always had our ups and downs when it came to activity, one thing I can say is it never came to a complete stop. With each year of the site being around we like to recognize those who put in the time and effort in keeping the site's story going along with personal story arcs. Let's get down to the fun part, and looking at the categories. Remember to base your picks on the previous year's worth of post.
Rookie of the Year:
New people joining is bound to happen, this is the moment we would like to recognize those people. Only members that were approved on November 1st, 2014 or later will be considered.(Remember, it's date APPROVED that matters, not joined.)
Best Hero:
A hero is one who seeks out to help those in need of aid, who do you think filled that role the best.
Best Villain:
This one isn't as black and white as Best Hero. Some times they love to stand in the hero's way, other times they do what benefits them the most without considering what it would do to others.
Best Male Character:
Self explanatory.
Best Female Character:
Pretty much like Best Male Character, self explanatory.
Most Spirited Character:
Almost every RPG or anime has one of these, it's typically that character that a lot of people grow to hate. Nothing ever keeps them down, they're always striving to be the best, even if it's from side lines. Kinda like your mom at your sports game when you were little.
Best Battle Posts:
As it's been said before, combat is the bread and butter of Fire Emblem. Who paints the best picture of how they're gutting some fool in your mind?
Best Peace Time Posts:
Every warrior needs their down time, who's got the best non-combat post out there?
Best Pair:
Think Calvin and Hobbes, two people with fantastic synergy that get along so well.
Best (Worst) Enemies:
There's always a pair that loves to hate each other. Their relationship thrives upon that extreme dislike for one another, who high lights this the best?
Best Duo Topic:
This one was formally known as 'Best Support'. With the last year's "winner" taking place outside of the support board we decided to change it to 'Best Duo Topic'. What was the best topic you saw that had only two people, supports included?
One True Pairing:
There's always that one couple that feels as if they had no say in becoming one, it's as if fate decided they were going to be together no matter what.
Most Comical Post:
Was it a serious post that you couldn't help wetting yourself from laughing at? Or was it something you could see the writer put some attempt to crack a smile from the readers? It doesn't matter, it's time to let everybody know who you think has the funniest post.
Once you feel like you have your picks in send a staff PM by October 31st 11AM forum time(which is sent to CST). If there's a category that you're stuck on, you can skip it and add it in at a later date as long as it's before the deadline. The prizes will be the black tickets once again, the staff will try to think of something based on the character but if you have an idea shoot us a PM with it and we'll see what we can do. Good luck to everyone.
But wait, there's more.
When it comes to trading goods from Etruria to Bern or Sacae the most popular route was to sail around Nabata and stop along the way at port towns to sell goods as well as buy new ones to sell once they make their final stop. Pretty much SOP when it came to the merchants looking to make money, but one day a bold merchant with a new idea had thought of a way to cut down on travel time and hopefully beat his competitors to the punch line by having his goods there sooner. To sail directly from Etruria to their destination by going west until they hit land fall. The ship's crew had seen land in the distance, it had seemed much smaller than what would have been either Sacae or Bern but they went towards it. The ship's owner, the merchant, had quickly figured this was a new land and gathering goods from here could lead to a huge profit.
While exploring the land near the shores they had found a couple of small villages and began trade with the locals. Once returning to Etruria with new goods to sell, word of the new island spread like wild fire despite the merchant telling his crew NOT to talk about it. It didn't take long for merchants, and explorers alike to take to the seas towards the new land.
With that little story out of the way, we're adding in a new area for you to post in, that isn't connected to Elibe(for simplicity reasons, it will appear in the Elibe section). Now we have this new area to post in, we don't even know what to call it. We figured it would be pretty awesome to let you guys come up with the name, just include it in your awards ballet and once we have them all(or at the end of the voting whatever comes first) we'll make a poll for everybody to vote on the name. For the time being it will be referred to ?? Island.
