"So you will pay me that much if I help you out?" Gagel asked to his soon-to-be employer.
"Yes sir," the villager replied. "We are trying to get as much help as we can before we end up being attacked again."
Gagel stood up from his seat nodding. "Alright, if I can get some help, I will make sure that this town is safe."
"Thank you sir," said the young man that Gagel had just made a deal with. The mercenary did not really bother to say "your welcome" before he left the house.
A town in Illia has been regularly raided by bandits for loot. But now someone decided to try to hire people who mght be able to drive them away. Gagel happened to be looking for a job at the time, just in time to find the town who needed him. This reminded him of the incident at his hometown; only now he is not doing it for free.
But he could not take on an entire band of bandits. He needed to get some assistence first. He headed of to an inn to see if anyone was there who would be willing to assist him.

It had been a long trip, but Ace was finally here. The nation of snow and mercenaries like himself. Ilia was full of people like him, out for a job that can give a decent pay. Ace was sadly just trying to seek more and more money, so that he can accumulate it and help to fund for some Lycian restoration efforts. The cavalier wanted to help rebuild Lycia, especially Ostia, but in order to do so now he needed to get some money and experience to become a better fighter and person. This is why Ace found himself in Ilia.
"Well Troy, how do you like this cold weather, huh? It sure is a change from places like Lycia and Sacae." Ace looked down at his horse. Troy, the 'noble steed', just gave a slight snort and continued to trot on. Ace had come across another boring and ordinary village. Nothing out of the ordinary and definitely nothing extraordinary. Ace just needed a place to rest, so he ended up here looking for an inn. Ace left his horse at the side of the public inn and walked inside the inn hearing a little jingle as he creaked the door open. Ace sat down in a chair in the lobby of the inn. "Well this is sort of boring. Hopefully I can get a job soon that can spark some fun or at least a little interest." Ace lifted his right leg and placed his leg on top of his other leg. He began to doze off a little as his sword was planked to the left of the chair as his cape draped over the top of the chair.

Gagel decided to grab a quick snack as he was a bit hungry. After buying a roll, he walks to the table he claimed earlier (in his head.) He then finds another man was sitting at the same table. Normally, he would tell him to leave, but he saw that he had his own weapon. Unless it was just for show, mabye he could be some help to him.
"Hey, there," Gagel said to him, as he sat down on a chair at the same table. "How are doing?"

What the- Ace was trying to enjoy a nice little session of dozing off and getting some rest. However, a certain somebody was preventing the cavalier from doing so. Ace opened his right eye and looked at the man who asked him a fairly simple of question of "Hey" and "How are you?" Small talk that usually ends up becoming conversations of either love, trying to be friends, or eventually getting around to wanting something. Ace hoped the first option was off the table, so he decided to go along with it to determine what this man wanted.
"I'm doing fine thank you. Was trying to get some rest, but I'm up for some discussion now." Ace smiled at the man as he continued to talk, "How are you doing? Are you native from here or are you just passing by. You seem like a fighter type, are you a mercenary for hire or what's your deal?" Ace decided to be the one asking the questions. He didn't know who this man was, so he wasn't going to take any chances. Trusting people in Bern almost got him killed, so that's that for being so naive with trusting people in Elibe. Ace just wanted to stop being one step behind of people. He wanted to start being the one on top, so he has begun to try and gain some life experience and some physical training, so that he may come closer to achieving his goal. His goal of eventually helping to rebuild Ostia and Lycia.

Gagel blinks at the blaze of questions thrown towards him. Honestly, he could not blame him, as he did show up rather abrubtly. It is not like he is trying to talk like a con man, so he decided to just be straightfoward with his intentions.
"Well I could ask you the same questions," Gagel responded calmly. "I came across this town a while ago. Apparently this place is being frequently raided by bandits. You can ask the residents here if you don't believe me." Gagel took a large bite out of his bread roll. After he swallowed, he continued. "I have been hired to help take them down, but only if I can find enough people who will be willing to help me out. That's "the deal". Are you a mercenary of some sort?"

Ace looked at the man for a moment. He was supposedly a mercenary that was hired to protect this town from attacks by bandits. His desire from Ace seemed to be help well help from anyone in general. The cavalier presumed this mercenary to be a decent man and decided to open up a bit. He hoped that it wouldn't be a mistake and Ace decided that it was time to be of some use.
"As for your question, I am indeed a mercenary. You say this town wants more mercenaries to help protect this place, huh? Well I suppose I will help you and this town. No need for innocents to get harmed due to some stupid bandits. What do we need to do? Do we need to meet some other people or what?"" Ace wasn't even exactly sure what this guys name was. "My name is Ace Wilzor of Ostia by the way. What happens to be your name?" Ace stood up more in seat to show that he was interested in the discussion.

Gagel smirked. "My name's Gagel. And yes, we obviously can't take on a gang of bandits with only two guys. We need to find some other people willing to help out. That's again why I am here." Gagel then ate the last of his bread roll before continuing. "I have noticed some other fighters around here, so mabye we can get some help here. Of course, there is going to be payment. How much would you be excpecting?"

Hmm. Ace hadn't considered that question yet. How much did he want from this job. The cavalier didn't want to be greedy and take all of the gold. These innocents shouldn't have to pay all their life savings to eliminate these bandits supposedly around town. Ace looked at the man and gave a faint smile.
"Well met Gagel. I agree with the fact that we should gain more man power before trying to end this threat. Do you have any ideas as for that predicament? To answer your question about the gold, I see a couple hundred gold being sufficient for my services. I don't want to take away all the money these poor villagers own. That would be a very cruel act to commit. So what should we do now? What if we can't gain any more mercenaries to assist us in our just cause?" The cavalier truly hoped that this duo could find some more assistance. Ace was a mediocre fighter for now due to his lack of experience, so going into a battle against a whole band of bandits with only one ally could end up disastrous.

Syana was sitting in the corner of the inn, keeping to herself. She had a plate of food in front of her that she was picking at, but that wasn't her current focus. She noticed on her travels that he sword was growing dull, and that wouldn't do. So, instead of worrying about food, she was sharpening her blade. Thankfully, she had a sharpening stone and the inn was loud enough that it wasn't too distracting. As she ran the stone down the length of the blade, it made a noise that she found quite pleasing.
Part of the reason that she was so focused on making sure that her sword was nice and sharp was the reports that she had heard of bandits in the area. She wasn't particularly afraid of a few bandits, as she had encountered much worse, but she would still need a sword to put them down. Taking a break to take another bite of her food and a quick drink, her mind wandered to the mutters that she had heard around town since she had arrived. Apparently, one or more groups of people were forming with the intention of fighting off these bandits.
The red-haired mercenary wasn't interested. At least not yet. There wasn't much she wouldn't do for the right price, but she had other problem she had to worry about. She felt for these people, having dealt with bandits many times before, but this wasn't her fight. Syana was planning to leave this town once her food was finished and her sword was sharp. Until then, she hoped her luck held out and there wasn't an attack. That would be unfortunate.

Gagel sighed in deep thought. "Not being able to get more mercenaries would be a problem. Mabye we should put up some posters around town to become aware of what is going on before the next raid........" Gagel trailed off. The next raid? But when was it? How often did this town get attacked, and was it a consistent pattern, or just completely random. There were so many questions he could not answer. But the first question was answered when the door of the inn violently flew opened. At the door were several barbarious brigands and bandits.
"Alright, no one move and no one dies!" The supposed leader threaten.
"Oh hecks no!" Gagel muttered. Looks like the time for action was now. Gage then turned to Ace. "Well, hope your ready to get your hands dirty." Gagel grabbed his sword from under the table. "Whoops, I moved!"

"Not being able to get more mercenaries would be a problem. Mabye we should put up some posters around town to become aware of what is going on before the next raid........" Gagel trailed off. Ace didn't believe that would be the most effective plan of action of putting up 'posters' for awareness to this threat. Ace looked around the inn for potential allies. No one strike his interest, but a red-haired maiden. Of course, Ace could feel himself locking up due to the presence of being near a woman. The poor cavalier wasn't sure how to handle women at all.
"Well whatever we do, we need to do it quick. What if this threat attacks soon?" Ace looked to Gagel for an answer, but then he heard something shocking. Supposedly, some bandits have charged into the inn and were of course throwing threat around the place. The cavalier got up and grabbed his sword in almost a quick, fluid, and smooth motion all in one. He knew that fighting on foot wasn't his strength. The cavalier would need to get on his horse soon, so that he would be able to fight more efficiently. "So now what do we do Sir Gagel? Try to take them all on ourselves?" The cavalier was of course a bit scared. He hadn't handled a large group like this for a while and he also didn't have a lot to depend on in numbers.
"Well, hope your ready to get your hands dirty." Gagel grabbed his sword from under the table. "Whoops, I moved!"Ace just looked at Gagel before unsheathing his sword. Ace just sort of looked back to the bandits and held his sword steadily at them.

Gagel began to wonder if challenging these thugs was a good idea. But then he realised that there were a decent number of mercenaries here, enough to take on seven to ten bandits. Sure enough, a few of them were getting there weapons ready to take them on, but Ace looked unsure of himself. Had he ever fought before? Right now was not the time to ask though.
Gagel brought his blade down at one of the bandits, who sloppily blocked it with his ax, knocking it to the side. But Gagel continues with the swing and slashes it at his leg, mauling it. With that one down, a hand ax is hurled towards Gagel, who barely manages to duck underneath it. Another unfortunate mercenary behind him was unable to do the same. Gagel takes another whirl around to see another bandit coming after a red haird woman who was in the room.He clearly does not know how to treat a lady.

Syana groaned. Of course. Of course, she had to think about how she wished there wouldn't be a bandit attack. And looked what that caused. Not only was there a bandit attack, but they ended up attacking the inn that she happened to be in. She had just no luck right now. Probably Saturos' fault. She wasn't sure how, but she was gonna blame this on him. He'd be very confused next time they met up and she randomly hit him. Regardless, she figured that she was going to have to do something about this whole thing now. She couldn't exactly ignore all this going on right in front of her.
She noticed a few of the other people began to stand up to fight the incoming bandits. A couple of them looked uncertain of the situation. One of the bigger men went right into the fray, hacking down one of the bandits. As the fight began to grow, one of the bandits seemed to notice her and began to move towards her. Sighing, she pushed her sharpening stone back into her pack, she got to her feet. It turned out to be a good turn of fate she had decided to sharpen her blade while she ate. Shaking herself to get loose for a minute, she readied herself as the bandit grew close. She could tell by the look on his face that he didn't take her seriously. Tisk tisk tisk. He didn't even had a proper grip on his sword. She almost felt bad, but he had started this. Syana struck first, and struck well. With her first swing she banged against the man's sword, sending his arm off to his side. She then quickly spun around and drove her sword through his chest. As the mercenary pulled her sword out of the body and it fell down to the ground, she gave the blade a look over. Yup, plenty sharp enough.

Well that's one way to go on about fighting. Yeah, lets just charge at the bandits without really thinking of a strategy at all. Sure, no problem. Ace wouldn't really try this approach, but it seems to be working well for Gagel. He already managed to bring down one of them. However, there were still quite a few bandits left. Well I can't be the only lazy one here can I? Ace watched looked back with a short glance and noticed that the cherry red haired woman was quite capable herself. She put on a whole show basically with her swordplay. She also brought down a bandit.
Swoosh! An axe came straight down towards Ace. Luckily, the cavalier stumbled back and fell on his butt with his sword in hand and the axe planting itself down in between his legs. Ace looked up with large round eyes that were filled with shock at the bandit as he gave the same look in return. Then with sudden instinct, as the bandit was trying to release the axe from the ground, Ace pulled up his sword and drove it through the bandit's chest. The man gave a grunt as the sword plunged through his chest and he then fell on top of Ace. Seriously? I'm in the presence of a lady and quite a few other people. Of course I just had to look unprofessional in this fight. The cavalier then managed to push off the bandit from his sword and from on top of him and got up while dusting off his clothes. Ace then noticed that a bandit had cornered another mercenary in the inn that Ace hadn't met yet.
The mercenary lifted his sword and dug it into the top of the bandit's left shoulder as the bandit used his axe and cut a large wound into the mercenary's right arm. Both yelped in pain with the pain. Ace then quickly came over and with the bandit focusing all of his attention to the other mercenary, the cavalier drove his sword through this bandit's chest and the released it. The bandits turned around holding his wound, but couldn't react. He collapsed and let blood pool and ooze around him. The other mercenary also dropped to the ground while clenching his arm. Ace came over to the young man and wasn't quite sure what to do with the arm.
"Can anyone heal wounds? This young man needs a medic!" Ace was yelling at the tons of people in the inn, but didn't realize that it attracted two more bandits towards him and the mercenary.

With a total house brawl raging in the inn, Gagel found that the bandit team has been reduced to seven, and was about to be brought down more. He turned around, and found two bandits heading towards Ace who was by a wounded mercenary. Gagel runs towards one of them, and grabs them and slams them to the wall, followed by a thrust to their chest. He immediatly rushes towards them, but he is stopped by another brigand. Gagel gets his arms around him, forces him on the floor, and stabs him with his blade. Well, now the bandits were reduced to five..........and a random bandit death in the other side of the room makes four. He rushes to aid Ace, but no doubt he would had to fight him himself after those delays.
