You can download a free demo here; but naturally there's some selective things you can and can't do in it.
==============================================
SRPG Studio lets you make Fire-Emblem esque games. If I recall, Shouzo Kaga himself is behind this (but I'm not sure, I can't read Japanese!).
In the demo you can only make like, 10-ish characters and some items around that number. But hey, I'm having fun with just that!
I can't read Japanese, so most of it is just trial and error for me. If you're slightly versed in Japanese or know how to get stuff like this translated, go for it.
You can do stuff like give characters (allied or otherwise) their own little battle themes.
Can also make weapons, naturally.
If you give them 0 durability, they last infinitely. So you know, that's fun. You can make an OP unit to wreck stuff with (but that's not much fun other than to screw around with.)
The first map I made was just a small test field using green units.
You can actually alter behavioral patterns. Making them offensive, some move only when a unit is in range. Some don't even move at all and just attack when attacked. It's really neat. Usually they aim for the "Lord", but that's typical Fire Emblem logic.
Map making is pretty simple, you click on a map thingy on the top to change terrain, and a green/blue msn looking icon to add units(goodies, baddies, whatever.).
There's stuff for dialogue and recruiting people but I'm still experimenting with the menus on those.
In the demo you can't really import any sources (like custom art/sprites/etc) but it looks like you can in the full version... (Sobs internally)
Anyway, this game's pretty neat, so if anyone is interested in trying it out, try out the demo. =D
Might be cool to make some FEWOTW based stuff with it later on.
