“You did well, girls. You killed a ragtag Etrurian scouting party, a group of useless dolts they gave me. But can you kill the man who led them, and groups before them? When my men die, somehow I live… I live and wreak more havoc. Many have tried to kill me. Assassins, political rivals, enemy soldiers. They have all tried. But none have succeeded in killing the Lynx!”
Fargus nocked an arrow on his bow and pointed it at the man who spoke to them. Fargus smiled tauntingly and then said "Bravo, you managed to survive a few bouts, but lets see if your as tough as you claim to be then! Else it be a sad statement to put on your own tombstone..."
Fargus pointed his bow at the man who stood in the center and aimed at him. I just hope I'm not bluffing myself by saying that...else it be a sad statement to say on MY tombstone... He stared directly at the man who spoke with a daring look in his eyes. "You may have lived through assassins, political rivals, and other soldiers in battle, but this will be one battle you will not survive...Lets hope that theres room for you in hell when we send you down there ourselves!" Fargus shouted as he then fired the arrow at the man who called himself "the Lynx" Fargus then pulled another arrow out and nocked it on the bow and took aim once more at the Lynx, daring him to attack.

Faith had moved into the fray as the Lynx had attacked, and in the lull after the first clash of weaponry, Fargus had spoken, his tone uncharacteristically belligerent and full of bold claims. Faith admired the bowman’s pluck, but she simultaneously knew what she had been briefed about the Etrurian agent known as ‘Lynx.’ He was, indeed, quite skilled.
After Fargus finished his battle speech, the Lynx merely raised an eyebrow, watching the bowman draw back and fire his arrow. The enemy Swordmaster bent backwards, planting his hands and then whipping his feet over, ending up standing about a body length behind where he had been. The Hunter’s arrow entered the dirt in front of the Lynx, and the Etrurian stepped forward, breaking the arrow under his boot.
"Bold words from a filthy whelp from the plains. We will teach your nation of primitive savages a lesson, of that I have no doubt. And I will start by making an example of you and your soldier friends.”
The Lynx ran forward, slashing outward as he did so with his weapon. The Squire nearest to him leaped aside, dodging the attack, but the Swordmaster did not try to chase her down. Instead, he continued his full-on assault towards Fargus. The distance rapidly closed, and the Etrurian raised his sword to strike, sneering at the defenseless Hunter. That was when Faith stepped in, coming from the side at a run and holding her lance tight by her body, its point directly aimed at the Lynx’s midsection. With his current momentum, there would be no way he could stop in time; Faith braced herself to feel the man’s weight crunch against the sharp tip of her weapon.
There was no impact. The man simply dropped, ‘falling’ to the ground and skidding in a similarly uncontrolled fashion past her. He failed to attack as he did so, but the Squire could not capitalize on it, amazed as she was at the ease with which he had thwarted death. As the Lynx rose, Faith barked out an order to Fargus and her unit, and the other five Pegasus Knights in training formed up, making a defensive wall.
“Fargus of Sacae! Get behind me and poke him full of arrow holes! Seventh Unit, assemble! Let’s take the Lynx down.”
The Etrurian man laughed, swinging his sword in large, looping arcs.
“This is amusing! You all try so hard, but even at your best you can’t hope to touch me!”

“Fargus of Sacae! Get behind me and poke him full of arrow holes! Seventh Unit, assemble! Let’s take the Lynx down.”
Fargus ran behind Faith and aimed once again at Lynx. He glared at the man who called himself "the Lynx". He then nodded at Faith and then said With pleasure..."
He pointed his bow at "the Lynx" and continued to glare at him with his single eye. "You know, I've always wondered why Etrurians were so cruel...now I know why, because theres monsters like you running around ruining it. Your no better than those bandits that harass the helpless people that try and travel...With that, we'll finish this once and for all!"Fargus said as he pointed his arrow at "the Lynx"
He then fired another arrow at "the Lynx" and quickly nocked another arrow and aimed it right at "the Lynx" "Oh and, let this be a lesson for YOU, to never mess with a Sacaen...especially one without an eye since he was six! he yelled out, clearly angry at this point. He then fired his other arrow at "the Lynx" as it soared directly at him.
I didn't mean to blurt that out, but this guy is really starting to get on my nerves, its time that he know what true pain is...he will know the pain I felt when I lost my eye...the pain I felt when I lost my parents on that day to those bandits...the pain that I feel now, knowing that fiends in human flesh like him walk around! Fargus thought as he nocked another arrow on his bow and pointed it at "the Lynx"

“Enough.” The Lynx said, his voice devoid of the jovial theatrics he had previously displayed. It was time to show these children what playing at war will get them. The Sword Master didn’t even bother dodging the arrow, it flew so far to his left, instead focusing on the 2 squires that tried to time their attacks on him together. “Children, you should have run when you had the chance.” As the first squire’s attempted to pierce his heart, he parried the weapon with his shimmering sword. The second attack aimed for his head, but was clumsy and the girl’s footing was off. He ducked, grabbed the shaft of the lance and pulled the foolish squire onto his blade, her lack of proper form allowing her no stability in her stance. He turned the body pierced blade to the other squire, who seemed to have gone into a state of shock at seeing her friend killed. These children had never seen the truth of battle. Nor would they ever. From his shimmering blade, erupted a beam of pure light at punched straight through the shocked squire’s neck. Blood leapt from her neck as she fell into a crumpled heap. She was dead before she hit the floor.
He took aim again, this time at one of the pegasus that had brought the squires to their fate. The foolish creature had flown down, no doubt in defense of it’s fallen mistress. But even the horse lacked the proper training of a war pegasus. It landed in front of him and rose onto it’s front legs, but the sword master was faster than anything they’d ever faced. Pulling the squire off his blade, he leapt to the left side of the pegasus and plunged his sword straight into it’s heart. Shine magic bled from the blade and slaughter the poor creature from the inside out. A spear took him in his off arm as his back was turned. Spinning quickly, he drew the sword from the pegasus’ chest and swung at his attacker, erupting a beam of light from his sword that cleanly cut through both the girl’s lance and her leg. He looked up at the remaining combat ready children.
“So. Are you going to follow your orders and eliminate the enemy like good little soldiers? Or will you join the Prophet’s army and serve us in our conquering of your homeland? The choice is yours.”

Fargus gripped his bow. He looked at the slaughter that the Lynx had caused and shuddered slightly. But he remained steadfast and aimed his bow at the Lynx. "Not a chance, not when we've gotten this far" he said confidently. I wish I was as confident as I sounded...he barely broke a sweat taking down most of our squad! Fargus thought. He then nocked an arrow on his bow. I've got to take him down...no way am I going to suffer the same fate as my parents...and die by a ruffian such as him! he thought to himself.
He continued to aim his bow at the Lynx. "Even men like you must meet their fate sometime...and I think it's high time that you met the end of your life! Sure, we're nothing compaired to properly trained soldiers that you claimed the lives of..." he then paused, and gave a long sigh. "...but it doesn't matter! We fight for a cause that we believe in...unlike you who fight only for the thrill of killing...nay, butchering your enemies! I swear, in the name of our butchered friends and allies, I will strike you down!" Fargus yelled. He then released his bowstring, sending his nocked arrow flying right at the Lynx. Fargus then nocked another arrow and pointed it right at the Lynx. I know that I by myself won't be able to take him down, but if we work together, I know that we'll be able to take down even a powerful commander such as him...I hope that my allies can back me up...otherwise I'm as good as dead like those three! he thought, taking a quick glance at the remains of the Squires and their Pegasuses...
