Althea stood there for a moment, as much to gather her thoughts as her strength in the wake of what she had done. She wasn't sure if she regretted it, exactly, but it was certainly a heavier burden than she had realized. It was easy to say she would do such and such, but to actually do it, to be faced with the stark naked truth, had a weight all its own. She would not... could not let it break her, she had to be stronger than that, but the foul taste in her mouth was something not so easy to wash away, and it might never be. In the words of her father, 'always have a purpose, and know your purpose.' Easier said than done. But she had to face it here, rather than fleeing it or letting it consume her.
One more deep breath. Althea stared at the array of corpses and scars of battle, realizing with the slightest tinge of amusement that in this moment she was most worried about trying to explain exactly what had happened here to the relevant authorities. Levity washed away quickly though, and after another moment of hesitation, of weakness, she forced herself to move again. "We should leave now. Travel will be difficult, and we both need rest; the sooner we get moving, the better our chances of avoiding trouble... and the night." Amusing, in a way, that they fled both cold and heat rather than simply the seemingly omnipresent heat, but that was life in the desert without preparation. Traveling at night was ideal if properly prepared, but neither of them were. Hm. Her cloak was still in the ruin, she might have a spare one for Circe if she looked... Althea didn't even realize she had moved on, her mind already focused on the next path towards the future.
