"So the City of Flowers has finally returned", spoke Xanthos as he stood at the cities front gates. The golden hair mercenary looked out upon the town taking in the divine scenery. Maidens, of all hair colors and sizes walked the streets. There hands filled with baskets of flowers and there necks covered with petal necklaces. Cherry blossoms petals lined the street and pink curtains covered every buildings window. The sweet aroma of pies and sweets baked zigzaged across every corner. Singing filled the air and drunken songs erupted from the local taverns. This was the Festival of Flowers after all. The celebration of a great harvest and the divinity of the young maiden. Today would be the day that engagements would be declared and weddings planned. It was a fine day for couples and a even finer day for the single man.
"So where do I start", spoke Xanthos as he began to look around. There were so many beautiful women to chose from. He was sure that one of them would become his before the event was though. Still he needed to pick carefully. If he ran up to some random women, like he normally does, and tries to lay down some of his charms he might end up getting a dagger in his back. The men of Arc were known to be fearsomely jealous and more than one fight has broken out in the Festival of Flowers. Shoot, that was the main reason it was canceled for the last five years. Well one of the main reasons. The Monster infestation was the true main reason. There presence tainted the land and disrupted the harvest. Not to mention the constant need to be on alert for there roaming bands. However the inner turmoil created from in fighting due to relationship rivalries began to build up. Eventually the mayor and the village elders had to cancel the festival. A serious blow dealt to the life of the village. However now the festivities are back and in full swing, and Xanthos was going to enjoy every minute of it.
"Alright only one way to decide", spoke Xanthos as he drew his sword sheath and all from his sword belt. Stabbing the tip of his longswords scabbard into the ground Xanthos let loss his blade. The pull of gravity took hold and the blade fell to the ground toward the right. "Alright it is decided then, to the tavern", shouted Xanthos as he replaced his sword onto his belt and began to make his way to The Din Of the Drunken.

Worde.
Ah, Lycia. There was something about these territories that gave Aria a sense of calm. She loved Bern and all, but sometimes it was just nice to get out of the country. Aria and Chewy arrived in Worde a few days ago. They had heard of this festival of flowers and hoped to both enjoy the sights and probably find some work as a guard. The fun would come first! This was the first time either of them would experience a festival outside of Bern. Aria was particularly curious to try some of their local cuisine. She was going to do almost everything this town had to offer. Cherry blossom cookies. Cakes. Floral crowns. Cherry wood charms. The sky haired rider wanted to do it all.
A wyvern in Lycia drew attention. Soon, she had a small group of onlookers curious to see the red colored oddity that flew into their midst. Chewy knew people were watching her so she did her best to look good. Posing and showing off her wings. Aria spent a good deal of her time explaining things before leading her mount out towards the cherry tree fields. She found a nice man who allowed her to bring Chewy into his orchids. So long as Chewy didn't knock down the trees or the flowers out of the trees, she was free to romp around in the clearings of the orchids. Chewy being the wyvern she was tried to chomp the petals that danced in the wind. She had fun kicking up the already fallen petals from the ground into the air with her tail.
Aria plucked a few flowers out of the trees, some blades of grass, and started to weave the flowers into a crown. She'd have to make two crowns. One for herself and one for Chewy. Although now that she looked at Chewy. Perhaps, two tiny floral crowns to go at the base of her horns.

"Alright it is ale time", shouted Xanthos as he pushed open the door to the tavern. His eyes were meet with the image of maidens and lads alike. The maidens were all wearing flowing robs and pink dresses. The gentlemen were were not as elegant. They wore there good tunic of course, but the quality varied greatly between person to person. One thing that did not change between them was the constant sight of mugs in there hands. The pink liquid fuzzed and bubbled all around spilling over cups and swashing down peoples throats.
With a smile Xanthos walked into the tavern and made his way over to the bar keep. The man was already fixing a drink for another gentlemen, but Xanthos did not care. Walking over to the bar Xanthos slammed down a shinny gold coin onto the counter top and looked at the man. "Give me a Sakura Sakurai", he shouted trying to make his request heard over the sound of joy and glee in the tavern. The barkeep took one look at him and then turned back to the drink he was filling.
"Give me a minute", he spoke as the mug topped off in pink fizz. Handing the cup to the man waiting the barkeep picked up Xanthos golden coin. He looked at it for a moment and then bit down on it with his teeth. The metal did not bend and the man was satisfied. He tossed the coin into his pocket and picked up a glass from under the counter. Pulling back on a lever the pink swill shot down and filled the mug. He waited to the right moment close the valve shut and allowed the fizz to just breach over the top. "Here you go", he spoke as he passed the drink back to Xanthos. The mercenary took the cup with glee and walked off back towards some tables.
Practically sticking his face into the cup Xanthos took a great gulp out of the liquid. The foam collected around his mouth and the liquid filled his body with glee. Xanthos was not a light weight, but the quality of the Sakura Sakurai was top notch. They say that cherry blossoms were used in the brewing, but Xanthos had his doubts. It was a local favorite and one that was served only during the festival. It was no wonder that so many people had pushed themselves into the building so early. Best get some while the getting was still good. Thought the barkeeps in town did well to insure they had enough for the who festival, but ever year it ran they always seemed to run out. Probably due to employees saving some of it back for themselves or mabye the fact that it was limited pushed everyone into over drinking. Xanthos had no idea, but he was sure that he needed to get his wile the getting was good.
"Alright now that my side quest is over", spoke Xanthos as he drowned the last of his ale. His eyes fixed on a young maiden in the back of the tavern leaning on the wall. Her dress was cut low, but ran all the way down to her knees. A good sigh thought Xanthos. It was time for him to try his luck. During the last festival he had failed, but this time. He was sure that fate was on his side.

She spent a good ten minutes on her crown of flowers. She held the crown on her knee for a moment while she went to work on her own hair. She made a half crown braid to her hair and held it in place with a pin in the shape of a wyvern. She then put the crown of flowers on her own head. She got up and dusted herself off. Chewy continued to play among the flora. She had caught enough petals into her mouth so that it looked like she had a big toothy grin on her face. Almost as if it was something out of an illustration. This made Aria laugh.
"Ya think you'll be okay on your own Chew?" She asked. The rider was kind of eager to go into town and do some shopping. The wyvern lowered her head down and nuzzled Aria in the face.
"Don't eat too many petals. Ya might get an upset stomach. And I am not going to tonic you." She cautioned. The brick colored wyvern gave a bit of a snort. The wyvern wanted to follow her rider back into town. But even she knew her big size would be a problem for the people living there. She growled then whined a bit.
"I know, I know. You want to tag along. But, you know better. Stay here. Be nice to the trees and the people. Unless they threaten you. Then you can bash em and fly away. Alright?" She petted Chewy on the head. The wyvern licked Aria's face before stepping away and curling up in the field. This was a perfect time for a nap.
The sky haired rider walked back into town. She browsed a few stalls. She got her and Chewy's image carved into a wooden tag. The carpenter said that these tags brought good luck to those who carried them around. She didn't care if it worked or not she was just really amused at the illustration. She looked like one of those little caricatures she'd seen in books or in some stained glass. She mused for a bit then asked to have a second one molded into Liam and Julius. She paid for the tags, then wrapped the charm in a small rag. Then put it into her bag. As per the carpenter's suggestion, she went to the pub next. She was told to order the Sakura special.. or something like that. Supposedly it was a pink drink. There was also a dessert made with the leaves and flora. It was some sort of stretchy, gooey, starchy, thing wrapped in a leaf that she have to try.

"Hello there fair maiden", spoke Xanthos as he walked up to the women he saw leaning in the corner. He attempted to put his best face forward, but genetics were working against him. His smile which was intended to be friendly and comforting came off as creepy and perverted. His lavender eyes, which his mother always told him were the gems of her life, came off as intimidating and gloomy. His blonde hair, which would normally be recognized as a sign of beauty, grace, and attractiveness, came off as a bit dirty. The way it hung over his face gave off a menacing presence. To add insult to injury his pointed shaped ears, a trait he inherited from his true parents, marked him as strange and foreign. His only great redeeming factor, his well chiseled body from hours of sword practice, only upped his intimidation factor. To say that Xanthos first impress was bad would be a understatement.
"Umm", the maiden spoke as she immediately became flustered. Her eyes darted around looking for anyone to pull her out of her situation. It was then in the corner of the room that she noticed a brawny fellow hogging all the attention. "Hey Gaston", she shouted as she pretty much ran away from Xanthos. Poor Xanthos looked on as he was rejected without a single word. His heart sank into his stomach like always and he began to walk away dejected. "Curses", he shouted as he took a seat at a nearby empty table. He looked on as that fool Gaston began to tell tales of his greatness.
"I need to become famous", he spoke as he shot back up and made his way to the bar. He pulled another gold coin out of his pocket and slammed it down onto the counter top. "Another Sakura Sakurai", he shouted demanding another drink.

Aria squeezed herself onto a bar stool in in front of the bar. She looked at the drinks that were being served. A nice range of hard spirits, frothy bugs of beer, and this strange pink thing she had never seen before. The man at the bar seemed to recognize her.
"Hey there lass, you was the one with that flying red devil earlier no?"
"She's a wyvern. Not a devil." Aria corrected him.
"Eh, tomato, to-mah-to. Anyways, what ya be having lass?" He asked. Well, Aria certainly wasn't going to give him any tips after her drinks had been served. Not with the way he's comparing wyverns to devils. Sure, Chewy may be a bit of a handful, but she isn't like those vile creatures seen in Elimine's books. And neither was the actual creature she had met that was in Elimine's books.
"What's that pink drink?" She asked.
"That there be one of the festival specialties. A Sakurai. Festival tradition. Costs three gold coins." He responded. Aria nodded and handed him the coin. He whipped up a mug with the drink and handed it to her. She took a sip and was surprised. She had expected a drink that was associated to be with such soft, sweet, smelling flowers to be just that. Soft and sweet. But, no, this drink was oddly salty. She could taste SOME sweetness to it. Like someone had added sugar to it but it felt out of place. She drank it anyway.
"Not.. exactly my kind of drink. I'll take some mead instead."
"Three more coins." And she paid him just that. She took the frothy cup of mead and sipped on that. Ah now this was something she knew. The strange flavor of the other drink was washed away by the crisp, tart, taste of mead. But this was a different flavor. Probably because it had been aged in a barrel made of cherry wood rather than oak or cedar. Either way she enjoyed this more then the Sakurai drink.
"Ya fancy, a mochi? It's a sweet bean filling wrapped in either a leaf or in a bun. You can take your pick. They be five coins." This man was milking her of her coin. But, she was here to enjoy the festivities.
"Bun." She spoke and handed him the coin. This was the last purchase she would make from this man. The sweet bun was presented to her and she took a bite. And instantly fell in love with it. It was gooey, sticky, sweet, and just a tiny bit tart.

hmm, thought Xanthos as he watched a quite attractive blue hair maiden walk up to the bar. He had seen pretty women before, but this one stood out. To his amazement though she had the look of a fighter, a rare thing among beautiful women. As she came up to the bar she ordered the special, the Sakura Sakurai. It was a local favorite and one of Xanthos as well. However something was off. Where the barkeep had only charged him a single gold for the mug he had charged the young lady three. The same thing for a normal mead as well, thought that price was only two gold coins. During the festival the shopkeeprs usually scaled back on prices. They sold more and as a result they made more money, but they also made it possible for people to get the full enjoyment out of the day. It seemed here however this man had decided that he wanted to bleed the young lady for what she was worth, a action that Xanthos could not stand.
"Hey barkeep are you serving me pig piss or are you serving me mead", spoke Xanthos as he turned his cup upside down and poured the liquid onto the floor. His actions caught the attention of several other customers around the bar.
"Excuse me", spoke the barkeep with a concerned look. He had no idea what had gotten into Xanthos, but he knew it would turn out bad. He was easy to handle any other day, but once he got angry.
"Are you serving me piss or are you serving me mead", spoke Xanthos again as he got out of his chair. He slammed his mug down onto the counter top and stared into the man's eyes. His lavender eyes seemed to shine with a evil light as they cut deep into the opposing man's soul.
"Of course not! What kind of question is that? I gave you Sakura Sakurai, just like all the others. You know about ...", spoke the man, but Xanthos cut him off.
"Then why are you charging me only a single gold, but the fair lady over there you are charging three. So what are you giving me piss out from the back or are you simply ripping the young maiden off.
Oh crap, thought the barkeep. He should have known it had something to do with a women. However that was the least of his worries now.
Hold on a second", spoke another man in the crowd. "That dog charged me five gold coins."
"He charged me ten", spoke another women.
"Hey old man what is up with the price differences", spoke a burly man as he made his way up to the counter top. Now the man had customers breathing down his neck, but for Xanthos his part was done.
"You seem to be enjoying that bond there", spoke Xanthos as he turned toward the blue hair maiden. "Let me give you a introduction. My name is Xanthos. I am a local from around these parts. You don't mind could we possibly share a cup of tea."
As Xanthos made his move in the bar the sounds and cries of the festival swirled into the heavens. A town in a complete uproar radiated sound waves all thought the vast woodlands that surrounded the area. The sound of merry making and fun became the dinner bell for others. Inside of the thick woods monsters began to stir. The sound of the festival began to draw them out of there dins. Like a moth to a flame they began to make there way toward the town. There moans and groans muffled by the sound of cheer.

Oh so there was the possibility she might have drunk urine. Well that's surprising. And yet she was unphased by it. There were plenty of odd things that ended up in her mouth and down her gullet. Growing up in a ranch meant that you ate what was given to you, even if it was wyvern feed. The blonde man had called the barkeep out on his shady tactics. To which the rider thanked and then dismissed. She was focused on enjoying her sweet mochi thing. But, the man had taken the recently vacated seat next to her and offered her a drink.
"I appreciate the gesture, but you can keep the tea. I'd prefer another round of these sticky bun things." She grinned lightly.
"Also, name's Aria. I'm wyvern rider from Bern." She greeted the man warmly.
While Aria was busy enjoying the festivities in town, Chewy was resting in the cherry blossom orchid. She had tuckered herself out chasing the petals in the wind, she was lying down her belly up, in a deep snooze. Few would be fool or cruel enough to wake a sleeping wyvern. Especially, one that looked so comfortable sleeping under the sun. But, the world was full of cruel and foolish things. Something did wake her. The scent of the dead. Chewy's eyes open and immediately jerked to her feet. She looked around at her surroundings. She couldn't see the walkers. But, she could smell them. She knew there were people around, specifically, those who tended to the trees.
She stretched her wings and took off. She circled around the orchard and let out several high-pitched cries. From the air she could see movement. Movement of those things getting closer and closer to civilization. Chewy's cries weren't going unnoticed. The animals were starting to run away. Those that were penned in were starting to panic. This drew the attention of the humans. Until, finally one of the ranch hands cried out.
"Monsters!"

yes, thought Xanthos to himself. He had made it past the first conversation. Most of the time he gets shot down pretty quickly. For once things seem to be moving in his favor, thought he did make a new enemy in town. Who cares about that right. He had gotten in the graces of a beautiful women. All he needed to do now was to invite her on a nice date and convince her he was not a complete scumb bag. That was simple right, well his track record did not state so. "Well then let me get you another", he spoke as he prepared to try and get some food out of the barkeep. It was possible to go to another, but he was not sure if she would follow him to another place. It was probably best not to push his luck. Unfortunately for Xanthos fate was against him.
"Monsters", shouted a voice as a man clad in white guard armor kicked open the door. Behind him was a company of the city guard and a few mercenaries in town who had volunteered. The site of people scrambling could be seen outside the door as the man walked in taking the attention of the entire tavern. "We have monsters at the gate", he boomed as he slammed his spear butt into the ground. "Those of you with combat experience and weapons you are now drafted into the guard. Get your gear and move out to defend the city", he shouted and walked outside.
Naturally the tavern blew up in a uproar. The people had there own personal opinion on the matter. Some were scared. Some were angry at the way the guardsmen demanded there service, and others just did not know what to do. Today was suppose to be a happy day. A festival to celebrate a good harvest and now the beast were at there door. How many beast were there, one had to wonder. Especially since the guards demanded assistance. Xanthos however was cursing his luck. Why of all times did this have to happen now. He was finally getting a chance to move to first base.
"Shint", shouted the mercenary as he slammed his fist onto the counter top. "Sorry Miss Aria, but our conversation is going to have to go on hold", he spoke as he picked up his shield. "It seems that the monsters don't have respect for holidays. However once this is all over I would gladly take you to visit the cities finest bakery shop. It is a little place not far from here. There sweets are divine. We could considerate a victory celebration", cheered Xanthos. He was going to have to fight. That was clear to him. One he did not want to look bad in front of the ladies, Aria specifically. Second monsters did not care who did not fight they were going to kill them all. At the very least he could try to spin this in a way to give him a chance to pick back up the ball."

Well this blonde man was improving Aria's mood. Then again she liked anyone who bought her food. Especially food she liked. Food she didn't like usually went to Chewy. Which meant extra treats for the brick colored wyvern. So, Chewy liked whoever brought Aria food she didn't like. Wyvern and rider had both a simple and complicated relationship.
"Thank you kindly, Xanthos." Bit's of her rancher's accent was starting to slip though. She couldn't help it though, she was enjoying her time here. She felt so relaxed and comfortable. The food and drink were keeping her in good spirits.
"Bakeries you say? I love pastries. Especially any with mincemeat in them." Mini meat pies. She remembered her mother would make some whenever it was a Bernese holiday. Or a chicken pot pie when it was an Elimine holiday or a day when it was particularly cold or wet. Chewy loved them too. She was fond of the spicy meat flavored variety of meat pies. Or those that had pork. Even though all the fat in pork ruined Chewy's digestion for a few days. But, instead of stuffing her face like a hog with a full trough of scraps, she'd grab her lance, and help defend the town.
"Dang nab it." She muttered under her breath.
"Rain check on those baked goods. I've got to fly." She got up quickly and left the pub. Chewy was already in the air. Flying high above the rooftops calling for Aria. Aria quickly moistened her lips with saliva, put her thumb and index finger in her mouth, and whistled for the wyvern. She had a very distinct whistle. It was three notes long and quick. Chewy responded with an audible chirping noise. The wyvern descended closer towards the rooftops trying to spy her rider amongst the running crowds. Aria kept moving towards the town gates. She kept up her whistles until she found a clear patch of land for Chewy to land in. Then the whistle changed to a high-pitched, singular note one.
Chewy let out a quick warning growl then landed in the clear path. Aria quickly threw off her wreath of flowers and put her helmet on. She scrambled quickly into whatever armor she was missing on her person. Did a quick check of Chewy's armor and saddle. She took a look at her lances and javelins. Everything was in order. She gripped the reigns, put her foot into the foot hook, and sat down in the saddle. She tied herself down. Then quickly commanded Chewy to fly up. They had work to do.

"Shint", shouted Xanthos! There she went, yet another failure. Maybe he could pick it back up after the fighting was done. Now more than ever Xanthos hated monsters. Taking up his shield and Xiphos Xanthos made his own way toward the gates. He watched from a distance as a wyvern flew overhead. There were a rare sight in Lycia, something you did not see everyday. At the time however the mercenary had not placed two and two together. His focus was more on joining the organize resistance. His weapons of choice were designed for group fighting rather than individual combat.
As both Xanthos and Aria made there way toward the gates the guard captain began to attempt to get the situation under control. With a single signal they were able to shut close the South, Eastern, and Western gates to the city. However in doing so they had locked several people outside the city on those side. They were doomed to the monsters. There only hope was to run around the city itself and prey they made it to the northern gate. The Guard Captain would have closed that one as well, but the mayor of the city refused. He called it inhumane and lacking in proper order. As a result most of the fighting was taking place there.
"So how many undead are we dealing with", shouted a burly man covered in well toned muscles. He was missing one eye and had a long fearsome scar straight across the face. This was Zane and he was the guard captain.
"Not completely sure sir", spoke a helmeted soldier as he pointed toward the map of the city. "Around the closed walls the undead number around twenty or so deep. Considering the size of the city it has to be a great number of them. Around the main gate..."
"I already seen that front", the Guard Captain cut the man off.
"Any way to save our people to the south", spoke a fat man with a fearsomely large mustache.
"A few of them had gathered together and formed a front at the Wild Berry estate", spoke another soldier. "The place is pretty small only twelve acres squared, but it has a decent wall. From the top of the wall we can tell they are still alive, but..."
"The gates won't last long", spoke Zane bluntly. "They are going to die."
"Then we should open the south gate and rescue them", spoke the mayor.
"Then we will doom the city", retorted Zane.
"What if we dropped people over the wall then? A small but skilled group. They may be able to cut a path through to the ..."
"They will die trying", hufed The Gaurd Captain. "The undead will encircle them and slay them all."
"Report" came a scream as another soldier moved into the make shift command post. "Bonewalkers have been sighted mixed in with the undead at the front gate."
"Damn it", shouted the guard captain. Things were already tough as it was with just the undead.

Monsters had congregated at two sections, the north, and southern gates. Since, rider and wyvern were closest to the southern end of town. They figured they would defend the southern gates. The gates were closed. Which was smart for the village but bad for those outside the gates. From the air, Aria could see some villagers trying to make a stand at someone's property. Those poor souls would be surrounded and overrun by the monsters in time.
Aria couldn't let that happen. A mass of them were trying to burst through a wall. Aria wordlessly commanded Chewy to fly low. The wyvern dove down through the air like a falcon after prey. Aria pressed her body close to her wyvern to avoid drag. At the right moment she pulled the reigns and the wyvern moved horizontally. It took advantage of the momentum of the dive and charged forward.
Few things in the world could stop a charging wyvern. Especially, one covered in thick scales and metal armor. She barrelled through the quivering mass of undead. Aria kept her head low as Chewy’s body made impact. The human rider could still see forward. In the gaps between Chewy’s horns. The various corpses were flung past her. Each with their own sickening thumps and squelches. After that Chewy landed a few feet away. She turned around roared and slammed her tail down at the ground repeatedly. The red wyvern was challenging them.
Aria grabbed her lance and pulled herself upright. She would use her lance to defend her wyvern from the undead. She'd skewer, poke, and prod them off her mount.

"Dang it", spoke Xanthos as he made his way toward the northern gate. His ambitions had once again been crushed by cruel fate. Still there was a chance of a recover after the battle, maybe. As Xanthos walked forward toward the north his mind began to drift from the maiden and move toward the battle. The sounds of horror and screams fill the air. They grow louder with every step. The mercenary, despite not swing a single undead, drew his blade. His heart began to beat and his muscle began to tingle. Citizens rushed around him now scrambling to get toward the inner city. Those who could lift a blade rushed forward with weapons in had.
"Oh Shint", shouted Xanthos as he reached around the last tall building. He was now on main street and the gate was in sight. The undead had swarmed it like a horde of ants. The guards were currently holding the line, but the daunting numbers of undead behind there ranks would drain the courage out of the heart of even the most Lion of hearted. Shields overlapping shields and spear stabs over the top, that was how the guards kept the zombies at bay. The zombies pressed hard, but the soldiers held there ground. There leader, the lieutenant was clad in heavy armor and leading his men from the front.
Looking around Xanthos did not even know where to begin. Should he try to join up with the guards, or maybe he should hold back. A few of the archers had climbed up atop nearby buildings and were shooting arrows into the horde. Xanthos however had no skill with the bow and as a result he could not give aid. The guardsmen formation requited that everyone fight and move in the same way. Xanthos had never trained with them and as a result he could not simply join up and hold the line. The addition of his blade would only weaken the formation as a whole. The mercenary was in a bit of a conundrum, however he was not the only one. All around he saw a few more men simply staring at the formation. They all had weapons, but they were completely useless. Double headed great axes, lances, swords, and even wooden clubs. The men were ready, but the situation would not allow it.
It was then however that the unthinkable happen. One of the gaurdsmen, at the center of the formation went down. Apparent a undead was crawling on the ground and had grabbed his left. Knocking the man off his feet the horde of undead had opened a hole in the formation. The guards attempted to revoer, but it was to late. The undead began to swarm in, there numbers were now poise to rip the formation apart.
"Now", shouted a voice just as everything seemed dire. Xanthos turned to see a orange haired man with a battle axe tossed over his shoulder. The man was wearing nothing more than a black leather jacket and a pair of tan slacks. He was clearly not a warrior for hire, but he charged in anyway. His axe at the ready he rushed in and slammed his mighty weapon into the chest of the nearest beast. The blow caved in the undead's chest, it did not kill it, but it did do its purpose.
"What are you guys waiting for", he spoke as he turned toward the group of freelances and gave a twisted smile. The rest of the men rushed into battle to follow his example, Xanthos included.

"Holy crap that Wyvern went over", spoke a female mercenary in a mini skirt. Her eyes were focus towards the sky as a wyvern had flow overhead.
"Way ahead of you Nina", shouted another female Pegasus rider as she jumped up on her mount. Her green hair flowed in the wind as her majestic stallion kicked off the ground and took to the air. The maiden however was soon followed by three other riders. Each one of them with a different hair color. It was almost like a rainbow had descended on the undead as the peagus riders joined the Wyvern rider in her assault. There was no way they were going to let a Wyvern out do them in combat.

"Well.. THAT drew their attention." Aria muttered as she glared at Chewy. The wyvern's charge did more then enough to piss them off. Her roars and displays of aggression only further aggravated them. The first wave of bone walkers ran towards the red wyvern with their weapons drawn. Fortunately, a good chunk of their weapons were swords. Curved blades with all manner of blood and mud on them. Swords was something Aria could handle. Aria needed to buy Chewy some time. That charge was powerful but also energy consuming. The wyern would need a few moments on the ground to catch her breath.
Chewy charged forward with her head down. Her head being lowered allowed for Aria to lunge her lance forward and skewer those in front of her. Chewy snapped at their legs. Her teeth sunk into flesh and cracked through bone. She'd shake her head and rip the limp from it's body. Sometimes the leg would come off. Other times the whole bottom half would snap at the base of the spine. Both rider and wyvern worked together to ensure that the undead we're rendered incapable of fighting. But, they could only do this to one undead at a time.
Aria drew her lance out of one undead and speared it through the head of another. Chewy couldn't maw at this one because she had her mouth full of another. Chewy's tail occasionally side swept and knocked over any undead that tried to come at her from behind. Chewy had to rely on Aria weakening the undead so that they didn't overtake her.

"Back up the wyvern rider", shouted a few of the pegasus knights as they charged into the battle. There lances came in first followed by there white winged mounts. Using there bodies as weapons the Pegauss knights landed their mounts on the bodies of the nearby bone walkers moving to strike against aria. The massive winged steeds sent a wave of thunder though the area as the bones cracked under there massive weight. Spears shot out from there saddles as the riders began to strike against the evil undead that tried to rush into there location. With the ferocity of a dragon and the cunning of a tiger the pegasus riders joined Aria in cutting a path through the undead.
Meanwhile at the northern gate Xanthos was fighting for his life. The breach in the formation had caused the gaurdsmen's formation to crumble. The volunteers had rushed in to fill it, but there very presence prevented the guards from reforming up. As a result the battle for the northern gate turned into a organize free for all. On the left and right flanks the guards held up two phalanx and battled back any beast that attempted to overtake them. In the middle however it was pure chaos. War-hammers flew left and right and swords clashed against rotting hide and old bones. Chaos ruled the day.
"Come on, you can do better than that", shouted Xanthos as he clashed with a bonewalker. The beast held a curved blade and armor that was rusted from years of disrepair. Its blade however was well kept, or at least it appeared to be. Its shinny hue made it easy to follow as it sailed though the air. Xanthos battled back its blows one by one, but neither of the two seemed to find a opening in the others defense. When it swung wide Xanthos shield would catch it mid way. When it tried to swing in with devious ploy his blade would always stop it. The same could be said by Xanthos attacks as well. The creature was a skilled swordsmen with the blade. Every assault made by the mercenary was beaten back blow by blow. The bonewalker was living up to it's race reputation.
