Sarah looked over at Wei and laughed to herself about his comment to the old knight but after listening to the boy's next plan of action she simply nodded at him and said to him.
"Alright then, we'll wait for you at the tavern when you are done with your shopping and whatever else you need to do here, just try not to get yourself hurt okay?"
After getting done talking to the boy, she looked over at Giles who said that he did indeed know his way around the city, which was good for her as she wanted to not only rest for abit, she also wanted to see what else this city had in it and any rumors that she can learn about and study for future needs. After hearing that the knight would agree to her request to take her to the tavern to give her some time to relax before heading out to their next destination in Lycia.
"Thank you, you know now that I think of it I never did get your name, I think it's best that I do get to know you better since we are going to be working together for awhile but let's talk more after be get into the tavern."
After being guided to the tavern like she ask, she walked inside the tavern and took a look around the place, to her this place seemed pretty normal as most taverns go but she knew that she needs to not draw too much attention to herself as belonging to a noble family likes to draw bandits and other people that would look to take advantage of a noble out in the middle of nowhere but Sarah decided to stop overthinking things and went to get something to drink and relax for abit.
"I'll take just a glass of water and that well be all."

"Get myself hurt, oh come on, not you too", spoke Wei. "I aint no baby just walking around. I am a warrior damn it! i will prove that to you both in the coming days", spat Wei as he ran off. Now the pretty girl was getting under his skin. The old guy had won this round, but Wei knew he would have the last laugh. His brave axe insured victory, or at least he thought. The weapon was so light, but yet so strong. He was sure he could swing it a thousand times without tiring out. Though Wei himself had never done it. He made a mental note to himself to see how many times he could swing his weapon. It wold not only be good training, but would also let him know his limits.
With the duo behind him Wei made his way toward the market. He already had a daunting task ahead of him. Food and water were essential for traveling, but Lycia was having a bit of a shortage on both these days. the monsters continue to blight the land and farm holds continue to disappear. With such threatening times prices went up. People would attempt to take advantage of him due to his youth. There was always a lot of problems for Wei when he traveled. People either treated him like a kid or like a mark. he did not like any of the two. He was a man dang it! he was old enough to leave home and travel the world and old enough to start a family. His grandfather was already a father by the time he was his age. Nobody called him a kid.
"Dang old man", spoke Wei as he kicked a rock. The stone flew into some random shop and hit somebody.
"Hey", shouted a women's voice as what Wei could guess was a man stepped out. Well to be honest it was a women, but she had so many bulging muscles that you could slap the time of dude on her and people would believe it. On her shoulders was a two handed axe that looked like it could kill with a tap. Her pink hair ran down her head in a glumpy mess, and her eyes screamed of murder. Wei wasted no time turning the nearby corner and staying hidden till he heard her go back into a shop.
"Ok, maybe I do need to be careful", he spoke to himself indulging in his bad habit.

Giles chuckled at Wei's response to what appeared to be genuine concern from Sarah. The boy then went on his way to gather his supplies. Giles already had just about everything he needed. He was that kind of person, he had been trained to always be prepared. Sarah asked for his name on their way to the tavern and spoke on the importance of getting to know each other if they were going to be in the same travelling party. "Oh yes, I apologize my introduction was interrupted by a certain redhaired youngster. Nonetheless, my name is Giles Brand, former royal knight of Marquess Laus. I am pleased to be of service to you." Giles gave a small but noticeable bow. He lifted his head and opened the door for the tavern.
Sarah ordered a water, Giles followed suit. Truthfully, he could've used a drink to make the trip with the redhaired boy more tolerable. But that wasn't appropriate for his line of work. Giles took the opportunity to speak about the logistics for the trip. "I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind answering. First, I see that you carry a staff. I would like to know if you are a cleric or a mounted troubadour. If you do have a horse, could you tell me it's approximate size? Second, how much combat have you seen in your time? Are you comfortable seeing people fight and possibly kill each other?" They were fairly blunt and heavy handed questions but Giles wanted to find these things out up front, that way they could avoid problems later.

Sarah took a drink of water and relaxed with the free time that she had at the moment until she heard that Giles was asking her a few questions about if she was a cleric or a troubadour and the other being something she guessed would be coming at one point would be how she felt about battle. After she had got done drinking her water she took a deep breath and began to speak.
"Well first off, I am a cleric just like my mother was, as she was the one that trained me how to even be a cleric but having a horse wouldn't be bad but meh, I just enjoyed walking more then riding. And as for your second question I've always played it smart and avoid getting into combat but if there was no choice of getting away from the fighting then I would prefers not getting stuck on the front lines of a battle but as for people fighting and dying well that has being a normal problem of this world so I wouldn't be scared of a battlefield."
After getting done with that little speech with the knight, Sarah started to get up and grabbed her staff and her bag of notebooks and other supplies she had inside the bag and looked at the door and said.
"Alright, I'm ready to go, unless you're not ready yet then I can wait, and if you are then lets go find that kid and let's get started on our journey through these whole land."

After gathering his supplies Wei was ready to return to the tavern. He decided he would take the long way back. It was unlike him to be so angry all the time. Normally he was calm about most situations. Ever since he got into town he has been on a high spin of emotions. Maybe it was the old guy and his off brand comments. Maybe it was the girl. Women always seemed to have a effect on men. His father told him that things would change when puberty hit, but for Wei everything seemed the same. Well considering his change in mood, nah, that had nothing to do with it. To be honest Wei could probably trace this entire incident back to his time around that jerk with a sword. That cut had left a deep scar on his body and his mind. If Wei had to blame anyone he blamed him.
"Alright enough with the hot head", spoke Wei to himself as he arrived in front of the tavern. Pulling his brave axe from his belt Wei began to swing the weapon around a bit. Drawing upon his second iron axe Wei began to use both weapons in combination fighting with a dual axe style. "Alright just stay focus and keep your head cool", he spoke to himself as he placed his weapons back into his belt. A small crowd had gathered to look at the strange kid swinging his weapons around. He could hear the chuckles from a few of the local maidens and as a result his face became as red as his hair. "Ignore them", spoke Wei as he opened the door to the tavern. He knew the two of them were probably waiting on him or still talking. He could not care which at the moment.

Giles nodded, he had gained the information he requested. The woman was a cleric meaning Giles would have to stay close in case of emergency. If she were a troubadour he could work with a little more leeway due to the increased mobility. But no matter, worst case scenario, Giles could likely scoop her onto the back of Aurochs and take off. The cleric also claimed to be comfortable with battle. A good sign. It would certainly make things easier if she wasn't frozen by fear in a life or death situation.
Sarah asked if Giles was prepared to leave. "I am prepared to leave. For now all we must do is stop by the stables and pick up my steed." Giles rose and exited the tavern, running into Wei on his way out. "Greeting Wei. Are you prepared to leave?" Giles moved outside in the direction of the town's stables. Upon arrival, he untied the large horse and mounted. Upon the seat of his steed, the great knight sat in all his glory. Purple armor with golden trim donned by both man and horse. Giles' weapons and supplies sat on the back of the horse. He rode the horse out of the stables and addressed the group.
"To Pherae, we will be taking the eastern gate. We'll likely pass through Santaruz, or perhaps Badon if you prefer. If you need any assistance in carrying your supplies, Aurochs here will have no trouble hauling them." Giles patted the armor on his ox-like steed. He began making his way toward the city gates.

Sarah got up from the table that she was sitting at and saw that Wei had returned from whatever business that he needed to do Sarah waved at the boy and ran over to him to talk for abit.
"Is there anything else you need to do here before we go to Pherae, if there is nothing else that you need to do here then let us get going, we can't stand here all day we got an adventure to get started."
Sarah was full of energy and couldn't wait to get moving out in the outside world, there was many things she wanted to see and learn about but she knew that she couldn't do everything at once, though she wished she could but after getting done thinking to herself, she heard that Giles needed to get his horse before they could leave, having no problem with that Sarah nodded in agreement and followed Giles to the stables and waited for him to get on his horse and waited for him to get done talking and heard that he would allow the horse to carry their stuff for them and was grateful as for her carrying all those supplies has been a pain for her in the past but now she wouldn't have to worry about that anymore thanks to the knight.
After putting her supplies on the horse she had one more question she needed to ask them before they all head out.
"I'd like to ask you both something, why did both of you choose to come with me, I hope it wasn't just to get some quick cash off me, I want to travel with someone that has their own dream that they want to follow while we journey out in the world."

"Yeah I got everything I needed", spoke Wei as eh walked up to the two of them. He was a bit happy that the old man did not try him again. Though Wei was sure that he had his emotions under control at the moment. He was going to need to be clear headed for what they were going to face. He knew the roads and he knew monsters. It was not going to be a easy journey. Wei was not as experience as he boasted. He understood his weaknesses and his strengths. He was sure however that he could make the journey. He made some by himself before. Most trouble you can avoid if you keep your eyes open. Wei however was not looking to simply avoid trouble. He was looking to fight and get his bearing toward combat.
"I will carry my own stuff. It will not only be good training, but I want to keep my stuff close to me. Nothing personal, but I don't trust horses. On more than one occasion I have seen one of those gets get spooked and run off with everyone's gear." Placing his backpack onto his back Wei began to walk toward the road. He had already prepared his feet for the journey that was to come. It was then the maiden asked the question. It was a good one ,but redundant. Wei had already given his reason when they first meet.
"Hey remember I did not ask for gold", spoke Wei. "I am coming along for the purpose of becoming stronger. One day I am going to be a legendary hero. You can count on that. However in order for me to do that I am going to need to become stronger. So I have to train. To make it simple I am coming along to test myself."

Giles nodded at Sarah,as she agreed to have Aurochs carry her gear. Wei refused however, claiming horses get spooked. Giles scoffed at the thought of his steed getting scared or skittish. The horse had been his companion for quite some time, it had seen all kinds of combat and had not once failed him. Monsters, bandits, thieves, wyverns. Nothing scared the beast. It was a large, intimidating horse and it knew it. Nonetheless, the redheaded Wei made a good point to be ready at a moments notice. "Fair enough." Sarah asked a question of her two new companions. Why were they here? Of course Wei had a dream that suited him, but Giles was past that point in his life. He wasn't out here to make a name for himself or to become a legend.
"I am a bodyguard. I protect people from the dangers they may face throughout their lives. If I succeed in that then I am happy." Not only that but helping the next generation grow and fulfill their potential. It made Giles happy. It made him feel like he was doing a good job, like he had an effect. The thought made him change his opinion on something. He wasn't doing this for the payment. Deep down he just wanted to help, but he still needed to maintain some semblance of authority during the trip. "Don't worry yourself about my payment. I'll get you both to Pherae, safely. For free." Giles smiled briefly before pulling Aurochs' reins and turning toward the gate.

Sarah was happy with both of their answers, Wei simply wanted to become stronger and become famous, a good future dream in her book and smiled at him and nodded and then she looked over at Giles while thinking about his choice of future, to simply protect those that can't fight or too weak to defend, a kind and noble goal to how Sarah sees it but that just might be just what old soldiers like to do as Sarah sees it and nodded to him as well and looked onward at the sky and road ahead and thought to herself.
(So this is how my next journey will begin, still I do like to see my home and family back in Ilia at some point, I should visit them at some point just to let them know I'm doing okay out in the world, and these group of people seem trustworthy enough, maybe enough to tell them of my noble bloodline but that will be for another time in the future, time to look forward to the present.)
As Sarah was walking down the road leaving the city she wanted to make a promise with her other two companions that would be traveling for who knows how long that could be. Sarah turned around and looked at both of them and said.
"Alright I know I've been talking alot right now but I want you two to promise me two things, one: I don't want to see anyone of you trying to act like a hero and sacrificing yourselves got it, I want to see these through with all of you. And two: please try not to fight too much, we all need to get along from now on."
Sarah halted after getting done talking and waited for their agreement or disagreement to her promise.

Don't be a hero, Wei hated it when people said that. Heroes are suppose to go out and fight and come back alive. The ones that die in the end are not true heroes. They are just side kicks for the true hero that comes out later and saves the day. Still Wei understood what she was saying. She wanted to end the adventure with good memories not the death of any of them. Wei could toast to that. Having the death of a companion on ones mind was not something Wei wanted to experience. He had seen the results in his father when his partner died on the city guard. He was never truly the same after that. He just threw himself into his work and preyed for a promotion.
"I can promise you the first one", spoke Wei as he began to scratch his chin. Not even Wei was sure about the second one. Sure at the moment they were getting along, but Wei was sure that it would not be long before the old guy and Sarah for that matter would start treating him like a kid. Wei was man #$%@ it! He was not some whelp carrying around a blanket and drinking bottles of milk. "I can get along with the old guy. Just as long as he stops treating me like I am four years old", spoke Wei. With that statement out the door he was sure he could handle the old guys antics.
With everyone talking about the road ahead Wei could not help but give off a small inner prayer. 'Roland make strong. Strong as you where and even stronger than what you can become. Guide my axe to its target and look out for my companions. Specifically Sarah. The old guy you can do what you want with him. I am sure he has lived his life. All jokes aside watch over us and guide my axe. Never let me turn my back to my enemy and never let the enemy over come me. Make me a Hero.'

Giles nodded in agreement with Sarah's sentiments. He had no interest in heroics and the like. He would sooner scoop the two up and take off rather than fight as a hero in their defense. He had to keep them safe, he didn't have to fight for them. As for the second promise, Giles didn't think he was fighting with the boy. Does a monkey fight with a silverback? Either way, Giles was inclined to agree. Wei claimed he was upset because Giles had treated him like a child. I treat people as they present themselves. Giles didn't voice this thought but it was present regardless.
"If all I must do is address you as an adult, then we will get along fine, Sir Wei. Also, let us hope the need for heroics doesn't present itself." The phrase felt strange in his voice, but there it was. Now that those simple requests were taken care of it may as well be time for Giles to make a request of his own. "I would also like you both to agree to a request of mine. If a dangerous situation arises, the best way for me to assure your safety is for you to follow my directions. Know that this will only be necessary in dire situations. Nonetheless, I need to know I can trust you both to follow my orders." Giles grew silent but was rather serious as he waited for the responses of the two. He hoped they would comply and that would be the end of the conversation.

Sarah was happy that they would agree not to get themselves killed while out on there journey, she wanted to make it to the end of the journey with everyone still in one piece. After getting that problem taken care of, she had heard that Giles had a request to make of his own that he wanted her and Wei to agree to. After hearing what he wanted from the both of them was that they would listen to him if something bad ever happens while out on their journey. Sarah knew that something was going to happen at some point in the future but for right now she decided to focus on what was now and worry about stuff like that when the time comes. Sarah nodded in agreement to the knights request and said to him.
"Alright, I'll listen to what you'll say when something bad every happens but as I said before, don't to anything stupid and get yourself killed out there got it?"
After getting done talking to the knight and saying her part about his request she looked forward at the road and sky ahead and started to write down some future notes that she would want to look at in the future. After getting done with her writing looked up at the sky and said out loud.
"Alright let's get going, there alot to see in this world and I'm not gonna miss one bit of it at all!"
After speaking out loud, she started to run off ahead of the group, down the road that would take them to the land of Pherae.

"That is fine with me", spoke Wei as he stared up at the great knight. He was sure that the old man was probably thinking he was going to complain. It would not be out of character for Wei. However Wei was not a stupid lad. He understood the need for experience eyes and precise commands. "I am not a monkey you know, I can tell when somebody has some experience. You did not get old by just charging into every fight like a meat head. if you got a command I will follow. Just don't tell me to do anything stupid like walking on my hands or holding off a horde of zombies by myself." With that Wei decided to add a quick note into his mental log book. When they stopped for the night he would need to jot down all the information he knew about the two of them in his info book. You never know when information could be useful. Especially the fact that the old dude use to be a part of the royal guard. Now that was something he never thought he would run into. If his father was here he would be chatting the old man up. He could never make it past sergeant and that was the regular guard.
As Sarah began to lead the way Wei quickly caught up. he wanted to be at the front of the group. If there was trouble he would be the first one to react. he needed to be. Fame only came to the swift. Wei desired famed. Not to mention he really needed the combat experience. He was still just a journeyman. If there was a fight he needed to be in it.
"Take what you can and leave nothing behind", spoke Wei. It was his father's old mato he used when he too left home to train.
