Nayru really was the queen of surprising Shara. Honestly, when the dragoness thought about it, it had been that way since they'd first met. Both comically and for...more serious, personal matters. Yet all the same she was once again caught off guard by Nayru's response, and actually stifled a small snort of laughter.
“S-Sorry. I just...I don't know what I expected.” She hoped her reaction didn't come off as insensitive. Nayru had been wonderfully patient and understanding with her through all of this. It would have left Shara feeling pretty terrible if she failed to at all return the favour, but she wasn't too worried. With how Nayru had worded her tale, it didn't sound like she'd take a small laugh too harshly.
“But I see. I can't seem to recall any one specific term for it either. Especially not in Common.” After all, why would humans have a word for a...trait(?) entirely unique to dragonkind in their modern tongue, when the vast majority of humans believe dragons to have been extinct for over a millennium? But Shara couldn't recall any Draconic tongue specifically naming the trait either.
Shara could guess why their changes were so different, either. Given the personal nature of the change, as detailed by Nayru herself, it was only natural. That said Shara wasn't about to ask for the details on Nayru's change. If the other dragoness ever wanted to tell her, then that was fine. Otherwise some things were likely best left alone.
“But yes, thankfully I am clothed...even if my new outfit seemed to consume Lucia's shirt.” Seriously, the entire event wouldn't be so difficult to explain if it hadn't been for that aspect. As the village gates grew closer Shara did somewhat dread that encounter. “Thank you for taking care of me. Sorry about your shirt.” A great way to show gratitude indeed. Worse still was that this was just one more surprise for Shara to heap onto poor Morrigan, granted it ought to be far less jarring.
Still...Shara noted that her mind had cleared. Not entirely. It was too soon for her to truly shoulder the events that had just occurred without any difficulty. But that maelstrom in her heart had been quelled, for the most part, and she could laugh and smile again.
...So, what would be next? Shara had her goal, but she knew not what her first steps ought to be. How could she best carry on that hope that she'd seen in Ragnis' family? Did she...go about uniting humanity and dragonkind? How? How could she even begin to end a thousand years of hatred between two races? How did she even go about re-introducing dragons and humans?
Was uniting the species the only way she could let this hope live on?
...No. This would all send her down that same spiral. Keeping ALL of her thoughts and emotions bottled inside, trapping herself in circular logic...she didn't want to do that anymore. Shara would rest on it for a few days before she decided to pursue this line of thinking again.
Maybe if Nayru or Morrigan were around, she would ask them. That...was what friends were for? Right?
