"The night shall burn like the new morning light" mourned Bee as she placed two cold coins over Elementious eyes. The young mans body had been placed on top of a pyre. Bee had taken upon herself to build the Pyre personally. She had gathered up the wood, bought the oil, and even secured some bits of tin and copper to fill in the empty spaces. It would be the most magnificent flame she had ever created. She would send her friend off with a blaze. In all it took her three days to prepare, but the body was not going to go anywhere. The snow would preserve it and it did. Once she had the pyre made she had covered her friends body in oil and placed him atop the mound. However she did not simply throw his body upon the heap like some corpse being burned for easy barrier. She had placed a crimson cloth over the top and placed the body in the center. Surrounding it was flowers and snow berries that grew in the region. On the center of his chest was his lightning tome, as Bee would not allow anyone to take it. As a final touch Bee had used it only once to shoot the greatest bolt she could muster into the air. As the sun set it was time for her to send him off.
"Goodbye Elementious", she whimpered Bee as she began to call upon the spirits of flames. With every fiber in her body she attempted to hold back the tears. "Goodbye Wilson my friend", song Bee though her pain. "May we meet again in the next life or in heaven. I don't really know what happens next. However I know that I owe you a drink. Maybe next time we can shoot some bolts of lighting together. Next..." The maiden stopped as tears escaped her eyes. She released the fire bolt she had created and the entire mount began to go up in flames. The tin and copper inside began to mix and in a awe inspiring chemical reaction the flames turned a brilliant green.

Dawson stood by silently. He couldn't believe it...he failed...again...he watched as the green flames overtook the dead mages body. This is my fault...maybe if I had just passed by...maybe Black Dog would have gone after only me...I swear...Draco WILL pay for this... he thought to himself. He sighed...it would take a long time before either of them could recover from a loss like this. He suspected that Bee was upset the most from it, considering it looked like they both were close to each other.
He then silently went up to Bee. With his head hung low, he could only look at the ground. "I'm sorry..." Dawson said. He knew that it wouldn't be enough, but it was all he could say. He continued to look at the ground in shame...unable to bear the guilt that he failed...again. He would get Draco one day...he WILL avenge the fallen mage and bring Draco to justice. I swear Draco...you best be ready...one day...I will come for you...and just as your minion showed no mercy to the thunder mage, I won't be merciful to you either! Dawson thought. He could only sigh again sadly.
He then slightly looked up at the burning area that Bee created to remember the thunder mage by. He was not going to let this happen again. I swear...I will not lose another ally like this again...I will honor not only my own wishes, but possibly the thunder mages as well, and get strong enough to prevent Bee from falling to Draco again he thought. He will not fail again...he mustn't!

As Bee stared into the flames she heard foot steps coming from behind her. She did not need to turn around to know who it was. Dawson had made himself present ever since the battle with Black Dog. There was no doubt in her mind that he was blaming himself for the lost of Elementous. He was a fool in that regard, thought Bee. He always blamed himself for everything Draco Guro did. To be honest Bee wondered how he was so focus all the time. Once Bee had escaped Draco she did everything in her power to put the man out of her memory. She did not want to think about him, hear about him, or even dream about him. As much as she was concerned Draco did not exist. That was the way she lived. If she could act like the past did not happen she could move forward with a smile, and for a while it worked. She went around simply enjoying life to the fullest showing off her magic and making friends along the way. Now however her past had caught up with her. Now it was real. Draco had sent one of his minions after her and as a result one of her friends lost his life.
"This sucks you know" whimpered Bee as she stared into the flames. "This is probably going to stay in my memory for the rest of my life. Tainted ... he has tainted the flames. I won't be able to look at green flames anymore without thinking about Elementious. I won't be able to forget the loss. That is why I did not use regular fire. Flames remind me of my mother. She use to work the forge all day long and the sparks and fires were engraved into my memory. That is why I like flames so much. Every time I see them dance I see my mother swinging her hammer. Now, now every time I see the green fires I will Elementious burning. The loss of a friend. Black Dogs cruel sword taking the young mans life. Tainted ... the stain will never come out."

Dawson could only stand silently as Bee told him what has happened. He could almost feel the same pain she did. I'm sorry...I know how it feels to lose your parents...mine were murdered by Draco shortly after he found out that I escaped...I could never forgive myself for what I've done with him... but now..." Dawson said
He then glared ahead and clinched his fist. "Thats it...I'm done with you Draco...You have claimed your last innocent person in your "plans"! he said. He then continued. "I'm through blaming myself for what isn't my fault. From now on, I will not blame myself for what you have done Draco...I swear...may the gods have mercy on ANYONE who gets in my way, in the way of your death Draco Guro! he yelled out.
He then sighed...he turned to Bee with his head bowed. "I'm...no...I'm going to stop blaming myself for his evil actions...it is Draco who will pay for his actions..." He could feel his adrenaline build up, he was NOT going to let Draco claim another life again...Dawson then sighed. "As painful as it is...I'm going to stay here in Ilia...just not around here though...I-no, we need to get stronger. I'm likely thinking about finding a group thats fighting Etruria here and help them. It would help me grow stronger and keep me hidden from Draco for the time being...Where do you plan on doing now?" Dawson asked. He was almost tempted to ask her if she wanted to go with him, but he decided to not ask. He didn't feel it would be fair of her to stay in an area where she lost someone close to her.

"Me", spoke the maiden as she really began to think on the subject. Bee had not really decided where she was going to go. She knew she was going to leave Ilia, but she was just not sure of where to go. If Draco could find her here then he could probably find her anywhere. That being said Bee would still have to leave. Staying in Ilia would just let Draco tighten his web around her that much easier. If Bee was going to go somewhere it would have to be a place where Draco would not have a organization to lean on. It would have to be a place where society was still young. There was only one place in Bee's, mind that fit that description, Vinland. She had been there before, but not for long. The place was quite dangerous and quite wild. The trip would also take a bit, but she knew once she was there Draco would be a distant memory.
"I am probably going to go to Vinland. You have heard of Vinland right. It is the new island discovered by travelers recently. The place has some strange magic and even stranger people. I heard that there are people there who have ears like rabbits and can transform themselves into gigantic bunnies. Not completely sure if any of that is true, but I have seen a few people turn into Birds in my last visit. So it is not that far of a stretch. Speaking of which, you might want to be careful Dawson. The people you are going to be looking for might not be what you think they are. Draco has a lot of influence and that could have something to do with this resistance. Make sure you check them out before you join up."

Dawson nodded when Bee asked him if he heard of Vinland. It was true that the land was mainly composed of strange things, but he knew that it would be a difficult trip. "Yeah, I've heard a thing or two about that place when I escaped from Draco, it would be a good place, but...Like you said, it'll be a long trip...And you might encounter another of Dracos minions or even Draco himself...Just promise me you'll be careful when you go there, alright?" Dawson said. He was sure that if Draco found them here, he might easily be tracking Dawson or Bee.
He took out a sack of coins from one of his pockets and handed it to Bee. "Here...take this then. It should last you until you get there. It's the least that I can do..." Dawson said. He then nodded at her. "Don't worry about me at the moment, I'll be careful...I won't be dieing before seeing Dracos demise with my own eyes" he said, giving Bee a reassuring smile. He turned back toward where they walked from. "Don't worry about the bar back there...I'll pay for the window. Besides..." he stopped himself before he said anymore. He knew that the pain was too real, physically and emotionally for her to go back where the thunder mage was killed. To be honest, I'm afraid of going back there myself...it pains me to have failed to stop Draco from taking another life...but it won't happen again...I won't allow it to happen EVER again! Dawson thought to himself.

"No", growled the women as she marched up to Dawson. She took her right hand and grabbed his left and forced his palm out. she then plopped the bag of coins down into his hand and looked him sternly in the eyes. "I can handle may own travel fee and I can handle the window repairs. It is the least I can do for poor Wilson. Not going back there is not going to change the fact that Wilson, I mean Elementious, died there. As a matter of facts go I see me not going back there as dishonoring his sacrifice. I need to burn that place into my mind. I need to scorch my hear so that it will always remember his sacrifice. Elementious died there in a battle to save my life."
"As for the money", chuckled Bee as she let go of Dawson's hand. "I can handle my own funds. I have a lot left from that blacksmithing job I did a while back. Not to mention I have savings. Your going to need your own coin to get where you are getting. Giving your coin to me will not make my trip any easier. As a matter of facts go it will probably make it more difficult thanks to bandits. I thought my destination out beforehand. I can make it to Vinland with the money I have. So don't worry about it."
As Bee finished talking she began to examine the mood. It was a bit too dark for her. They needed to be talking about something other than Draco Guro and the dangers they will face. Even if it was just for a little while Bee wanted to take her mind off it. "You should worry about yourself some more Dawson. Remember for all those promises you are making you need to be alive to do them. If you give away to much money and end up freezing in the cold how are you going to take down Draco. Let me worry about me, ok."

Dawson sighed. He knew it was true, but he still felt somewhat bad in having nothing to help her with. "Very well...if you insist..." he said. He could see in her eyes that there was no way he could convince her to accept it anyways. He then looked at her and said "Just promise me this much then: Promise me that YOU won't get yourself killed either." he said. Dawson was not going to fail this time either, and he had no intentions of failing ever again until he saw Draco killed with his own eyes.
He then looked up. "Don't worry, I'll be careful myself. Besides, like you said, I have a promise to make" he then got a determined look on his face. "And trust me, I am NOT one to break any promises either." He then sighed again. "Will you...at least allow me to accompany you back to the bar then? He will be remembered, and honored..." he then paused there. It was only partially true, he did want to remember and honor the thunder mage that was killed, but he still did not feel comfortable enough to head out just yet. He wanted to do some things first at the bar before he left, including possibly purchase a vulnerary or two from the barkeeper if he had any on hand. If he was going to stay in Ilia and join a resistance, he needed to be prepared for whatever may come, regards if he encountered Draco or any of his minions during the time spent in the resistance, whatever the resistance might be.

Bee gave off a long sigh as she took in Dawson's words. The maiden looked up at Dawson with a stern visage. "ARE YOU STUPID", screamed Bee at the top of her lungs. "WHO IN THE WORLD DO YOU THINK I AM DAWSON! I KNOW YOU HAVE NOT KNOWN ME FOR LONG, BUT BY THE HEAVENS YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS BY NOW. I AM BEE THE GREATEST FIRE MAGE THAT HAS EVER EXISTED AND WILL EVER EXIST! DYING IS NOT EVEN A POSSIBILITY FOR ME! IF I WAS CUT DOWN NOW THE FIRES OF HELL ITSELF WOULD SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL AND BRING ME BACK TO LIFE LIKE A PHOENIX RISING FROM THE ASHES, THAT IS HOW MUCH OF A AWESOME FIRE MAGE I AM! I AM GOING TO BE A LEGEND DAWSON! YOU ARE GOING TO TELL YOUR GRANDCHILDREN ABOUT ME! YOU ARE GOING TO SAY I MEET A FIRE MAGE SO STRONG THAT ATHOS HIMSELF DESCENDED FROM THE HEAVES JUST TO BEG ME FOR FORGIVENESS FOR ATTEMPTING TO MATCH MR IN PYROMANCY! DRACO AND HIS GOONS WILL NOT STAND A CHANCE! ONCE I RETURN FROM VINLAND DRACO WILL BE RUNNING AWAY FROM ME IN TERROR! I WILL RIP HIS DARK MAGIC OPEN THE POWER OF MY FLAMES AND CHAR HIM DOWN TO HIS VERY BONES! HIS FLESH WILL MELT AWAY LIKE THE SNOW AND EVERYONE IN ALL OF ELIBI WILL KNOW THE NAME OF BEE! THE GREATEST FIRE MAGE THAT HAS EVER EXISTED! SO YOU BETTER HURRY UP DAWSON AND GET STRONGER! BEFORE YOU KNOW IT I WILL BE LEADING THE CHARGE TO TAKE DRACO GURO'S HEAD! IF YOU ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH I WILL LEAVE YOU BEHIND AND MOUNT THE SCUMBAGS SKULL ATOP THE GATES OF MY FALLEN VILLAGE!!!"
As the maiden finished her rant she crossed her arms across her chest and began to laugh into sky. At this point she was sure that Dawson was probably very confused, but Bee did not care. She need that. She needed to kick her own self in the bottom and remind herself of who she was. She had been down since Elementious death. Now she was prepping herself back up. She needed to stay positive. Sure she was not strong enough now, but she could get stronger. Her flames can get hotter. she had not even made the rank of sage yet. Power was still available to her. She just needed a good kick in the bottom and a direction she needed to go.
"As for the tavern", chuckled Bee as she finished her crazy laughter. "I will allow you to accompany me to the place. it will be a good memory for the both of us in the future."

Dawson was surprised and taken aback by what Bee had just said. He then smiled. He knew that she would be fine on her own. "Heh, your right. I guess you are the best fire mage that I have met. I'm not going to doubt you ever again, not that I ever had mind you" he said. He really wished he had the same confidence that she had. But he figured that this would be a start. And I will become strong enough to match you some day, so we can BOTH take on Draco and his goons he thought to himself.
He then turned toward the direction that the tavern was at. "So, shall we get going? I for one don't think being an ice sculpture is not how we'll get things done here" he said with a chuckle, hoping to lighten the mood some. He now had a new attitude that he'll try and take on. An attitude in which he'll not blame himself for the horrors Draco caused, but instead, make Draco and his minions pay for their crimes. I will become strong enough, I MUST get stronger. I want to look Draco right in the eyes as he sees his own doom approach, in the form of either me, Bee, or even both of us! he thought. He then gripped his satchel that had his flux tome stored. I will get stronger...just you wait Draco. Dawson looked at the ground and released a slight sigh. "I just hope I'll be strong enough to even be of help taking him on" He then shook his head, then got a determined look on his face. "No, no more being a downer, I will succeed! I must!" he said.

"To the tavern then", spoke Bee as she turned and began to walk in the direction of the building. Dawson began to show signs of doubt again. At this point Bee was wondering if that was a permanent part of his personality or was it simply something that went along when he compared himself to Draco. To be honest she could not tell. Still Dawson seemed like a good guy. Once he got a lot stronger she was sure that he would walk around with his head held high. To be honest though she thought Dawson needed a lesson in self motivation. However Bee was not going to be the one to give it to him, well at least not now. She just wanted to get the dirty deed done with the barkeep and leave this inn behind. Despite all of her bluster Bee still felt a bit of emotion when she saw it.
"so Dawson", spoke Bee as she walked with her hands behind her head. The maiden was attempting to distract herself from her own feelings by sparking up some more small talk. Preferably she wanted something other than Draco. She was tired of talking and hearing about Draco. That jerk had interjected himself enough in her life for a lifetime. "Hey Dawson how old are you anyway. I forgot to ask you that. You look to be around my age, but the way you talk and speak makes me think that your a bit older. Hmm, if I had to guess maybe a year or two older than me", mused Bee as she placed her right index finger over her mouth. The maiden paused for only a moment and then spoke a number. "Probably eighteen or nineteen right? Or did I overshoot it." the maiden stared at him with curious eyes wondering about the answer.

Dawson turned toward Bee as he kept walking. "My age? I may not look like it, but I'm actually 24. I know, its really old for what I look like but hey, looks can be deceiving, right?" he said. It was true that he looked about her age, but really, many people back in Lycia thought the same thing when he was younger when he was with his parents. "So...from what you've described, you do blacksmithing, or at least you used to. Do you have any other things that you enjoy doing?" Dawson asked. He was hoping to keep his mind as well as Bees off of Draco for awhile.
"You know, this somehow reminds me of when I was younger. Back in my village in Lycia, me and my family always used to travel around to nearby villages to gather up supplies so we could take back to the smithy that was in town to make various decorations. I never had the privileged to make anything great mind you, but it was always a cold night like tonight..." Dawson said. He truthfully missed his family that was murdered by Draco when he escaped, but he knew that this would only make him stronger. He had another reason to keep fighting. Not just to survive for his own sake and get revenge on Draco, but to honor his family. "To be honest, I sometimes miss my village back home, but I know that when I come back, it will be great..." he said. He turned towards Bee again. "So...what about you?" he asked.

"TWENTY FOUR!" The maiden almost shouted her head off. There was no way he was twenty four. He was was so, well youthful. She figured they were around the same age, but darn for there to be that much of a difference. Clearly Draco must had done some really weird experiments on the lad or dark magic was far more powerful that Bee realized. The idea of Dark magic being that strong did not sit well with her. She was going to have to fight that magic after all. For now though Bee threw that entire though process out. She needed to focus on what was important, blacksmithing.
"Yeah I blacksmith", spoke Bee eager to change the subject. "To be honest it is a family trait. My mother use to be a blacksmith. Master of her craft, she would often say to customers who came thought her door. She would spend hours simply staring into the flames. Her keen eyes picking up on the different colors and patterns of steel. She was so beautiful", swooned Bee as she began to think back onto her mother. It had been quite a while since she thought of her. She remembered her mothers long pink hair that ran down from the top of her head and ended just above her knees. She remembered how long it took her mother to tie it all up before she began to work the forge. The smell of sunflowers which she used to scent her clothing and hair, and of course the most important thing about her, the sparks. Her mother would beat the metal with such ferocity that the sparks would light up the dark. She remembered the sparks well. Her mother was obsessed with them. She would often spend hours simply hitting metal against metal just to see the flash of light. On one incident she remembered her ruining a sword because she could not pull herself away form them.
Without any warning the maiden started to chuckle. "My mother was a jewel, but I remember nothing of my village. It was just a place to be honest. A place I can't return to". There was no emotions in Bee's words as she had no connection to the village. The only thing that truly touched her was her mother, the one thing she lost that she could never get back.

Dawson nodded when he heard Bee talk about her mother. "Ahh, is that so? That's really interesting actually. I guess that explains your interest in fire magic huh?" he said. He was just glad to be able to change the subject for once. He was sick of constantly talking, and thinking about Draco and what horror were planned out by him.
"You know...my mother used to claim I got my smarts from her and my looks from my father. It may be true, it may not be. I'm just happy to have known my parents for as long as I did." he said, keeping a positive attitude. He wanted to know some details on Bees father, but he decided not to ask. He thought for one it invaded in her personal life. He decided to not ask about her father. "Anyways, sounds like you really take from your mother though. Thats...actually very nice to hear." Dawson added on. He was honestly surprised. He figured that the reason for her interest in fire might be something else. Of course, he wasn't surprised at the same time.
"So anyways...is there anything else you'd like to know about me while we're walking toward the bar?" Dawson said. He was really hoping to keep the conversation away from Draco. For one, he didn't want to get depressed again, and for another, he figured it would be reasonable to just forget about him for now. After all, he didn't want to cause more pain for Bee...or for himself.
