Name:Aea
Class:Manakete
Age:650
Born in:Sacae
Appearance:Human Appearance: Aea normally appears as a fairly short human, around 5'4", with pointed, elf-like ears that she usually tries to conceal beneath her long purple hair that falls past her shoulders. She wears fairly everyday, yet fasionable clothes so that she can blend in mostly unnoticed from most people.
Draconic Appearance: In her draconic form, Aea is around 15 feet long, with a long, slender, and legless serpentine body composed of purple scales. Her wings are long and feathered, reaching a wingspan of almost 22 feet, and possessing a slightly lighter purple coloration than the rest of her body. Her head is sleek and mostly smooth, though still very distinctly that of a typical dragon, though admittedly a bit less fearsome looking than some.
Personality:Aea is very shy around strangers, especially after being raised by her parents to distrust humans. She tries to make small talk with people when necessary, but if anyone presses her further, she tends to get very anxious and tries to get away from the conversation however possible. Once she does open up to people, she can be quite friendly and talkative. It's just getting through that first social barrier that Aea struggles with.
History:A couple centuries ago, already well past the Scouring, inquisitors of the Church of St. Elimine arrived at the mountains of northern Sacae where Aea and her family resided. Her parents, two wind dragons that had miraculously survived the Scouring, did their best to hold the inquisitors off to buy Aea enough time to escape. While Aea did get away, they themselves were not able to escape the weapons of the Church. Having fled the only home she'd ever known, and unsure of what else to do, Aea found a small cave entrance somewhere out in the mountains that she could just fit through, covering it up with whatever stones, dirt, and boulders she could find before going into slumber for the next century or so.
After nearly a hundred years passed, a pair of explorers broke through the simple, yet effective barrier that Aea had set up, causing her to stir from her slumber. Luckily, she was able to hide before they were fully inside the chamber she was resting, and so they never found her. Once they left, assuming the cave was worthless and devoid of any possible valuables, Aea stepped out into the outside world again, descending from the mountains to head towards the nearest village she could find. She was greeted openly by the nearby Sacaean tribe once she said she was a refugee fleeing from Ilia to the north, and they allowed her to stay as long as she needed, and even gave her traditional Sacaean clothing, which she took a fast liking to for their simplistic elegance. After a few years, and doing her own part to assist the tribe with tasks, some menial, others slightly more dangerous, she was welcomed as an honorary member of the tribe, and over time, some of the elders of the village taught her how to identify certain herbs with healing properties, at least in Sacae, and Aea found she enjoyed searching for them, along with using them to help people, and always carries a few around now when possible.
While she will always remember this tribe, and likewise vice versa, she could no longer stay in one place for long. Aside from her suspecting that some of the tribespeople were growing suspicious of her lack of physical aging, her wanderlust also drove her to seek out more places and sights, within Sacae and otherwise, that her parents would never have allowed her to see under their own watch. Ever since she left the tribe roughly 80 years ago, she has been travelling across much of Sacae, and sometimes other parts of eastern Elibe, sometimes settling down in one place for a short while, but inevitably getting back up to move again. At some point, Aea also learned how to play the flute (look up Native American flute for reference), and has played it in taverns and in private nearly everywhere she goes.
NPC fight:Aea knew she was outmatched. There were three archers trained on her. She wasn't sure what she had done to anger these tribesmen, aside from crossing through their hunting territory, which, come to think of it, probably was why they were angry. Diplomacy had already failed, so maybe a distraction of some sort would work. Breathing inwards, she focused her mind on the air around her, and the ebb and flow of the wind, much like that of a river in some ways. Opening her eyes, she exhaled as hard as she could, releasing a quick gust of wind at the centermost archer, blowing him backwards a few feet and causing him to stumble onto the ground.
Aea had to breathe a moment. She hadn't done that in some time, and realized she still had the other two to deal with. Hoping that they would tend to their ally and not pursue, or maybe banking on the fact they wouldn't mess with a "mage", she turned tail and fled, using her connection with the wind to help her run, even if it was a barely noticeable difference.
PC fight:Aea just narrowly sidestepped to avoid her opponent's blade. She knew Sacaean swordsmen were accurate, but that was a bit too close for comfort. The villagers seemed to get pretty excited at the narrow dodge, and Aea began moving along the edge of the makeshift arena fence, calculating for just the right time to strike. Just as the swordsman began dashing towards her again, she launched a blast of air from her mouth. She hoped it'd be enough to knock him down, or else she may lose this match. Not a big deal for a local festival fight, but she'd still be a bit upset at losing.
