It was very disorienting. One minute Selunae was staring at Kyra’s corpse, frantically begging her to get up. The next, she was torn from the dream by the jostling of a very much alive Kyra. “Noo!!! I didn’t mean..!!” A startled cry, almost loud enough to be shouting, burst from the terrified huntress’s mouth before she even realized Kyra was there. It was just a split second later that her eyes locked with the novice’s. The resulting confusion that flashed across her features was brief, almost immediately being replaced by a mixture of relief and the theoretical grief of ‘what if the dream had been real.’ “Oh Kyra..!! You were... I mean... Somehow I... I...” What was remaining of the explanation was lost in tears before the archer could choke the words out, the girl on the verge of hyperventilating. Pushing herself up, Selunae threw herself into a tearful hug with hardly any explanation of what had troubled her so. Clinging tightly to the novice, she wept terribly for a brief moment before calming considerably.
Finally pulling back enough for both of them to have personal space, Selunae looked her friend in the eyes with remorse, silent tears still rolling across her cheeks. “I.. I’m sorry.. It was just.. just a dream..” The girl’s cheeks twitched as she sniffed, making it rather clear that she might burst into another fit of sobbing at any moment. What had happened? The details of her nightmare rapidly deteriorated, as her probing thoughts searched for anything she could find. How had the novice died? Had she murdered her friend? She couldn’t have, right? Gods, none of it made sense. A single arrow.. it couldn’t be! A gambit of emotions danced in the archer’s eyes as she sorted through thought and memory alike, trying to understand but failing to do so.

When Lunie awoke with a start, Kyra almost jumped a bit herself. She was met with stammering from the red headed girl, and soon enough, she began embracing Kyra, her face flooding with tears as she choked out her words. Before she could ask what was wrong, though she kind of assumed the answer, Lunie pulled bad from the hug and explained that she'd had a bad dream. From the context of her stammering, Kyra guessed it had something to do with her as well. Looking at Lunie sympathetically, Kyra began to speak. "Lunie, it's alright.. I don't know what you were dreaming about, but it's over now. We're right here, safe in my house."
Hesitating for a moment, Kyra decided to mention her own dream she'd had. "You know, just before I woke up, I had a strange dream of my own. I saw.. Well, it was a sword, but not like any I've ever seen before. The blade was pitch black, and it was sitting in an area that was just.. fog. There was no floor, or walls, or anything. And there were words that I heard whispering in my mind... I wanna brush it off like it was nothing, but it felt so... real... It was almost like it was calling to me in some way. That.. that sounds ridiculous though, right?"
Waiting for Lunie to answer, if she even could answer something crazy like that with a reasonable response, Kyra decided to focus more on the immediate future. "So, I guess we should probably figure out what we're gonna do once we're completely recovered. I know I said I was going to the Tournament of Arms, and I don't wanna be late, that's for sure. I guess that means I should be getting some things together as soon as I'm able to."

“I..I’m okay now.. It was just.. it felt so real..” The huntress brushed the remaining tears away as they ceased to fall. She was slowly forgetting what the big deal had been, something about Kyra and death, or that bandit. Wait, what did the two have to do with each other? As the finer details became more obscure with the waking world pushing them out of her mind, the dream became less and less significant. It seemed that Kyra had been hurt or dead, but she wasn’t even clear on that anymore. It was turning into silly rhetoric at this point and seemed pointless to even try to figure it out. After all, Kyra was obviously right here before her alive.
What resembled confusion in Selunae’s expression at first, turned into clear confusion at the mention of the novice’s dream. The archer idly arched an eyebrow as she took in the details. None of them struck a chord in her mind. A sword? Swords didn’t have much use to Selunae, but perhaps Kyra was just wanting a new weapon or somethin’? It made sense. Well, a little bit. No floors, though? Was everything just fallin’ forever? Sounded rather evil to her. Maybe the sword was a monster or demon or somethin’? Now, that sounded ridiculous. Didn’t stop the huntress from involuntarily shuddering. “Can swords do that? Call people ‘n everything? How wouldja answer it? Guess we’re both havin’ weird scary dreams, huh?”
As idle thoughts ran their course, the archer laid back down to relax as she sorted through the events of the past two days. It had been a roller coaster of emotions for the girls. She wasn’t sure what to make of the aftermath really. She didn’t know what to do about any of it. Could she just leave again so soon? She had thought about heading off with Kyra to the Tournament of Arms, but she felt a pressing obligation to stick around home for the time being. Kyra was actually talking about it again now. Her friend’s intent seemed to be to leave as soon as she able. Selunae couldn’t do it though. With the fate of Ito, Alphonz, and Chase all up in the air, she couldn’t bear to leave without knowing what became of them. “I..” Selunae inhaled deeply and sighed. “I can’t leave ‘til I know the others made it back safe. I’m gonna wait around here ‘n see if they show up. I wish I could go with ya, but they wouldn’t even have been in danger if not for me. I’ll..uh.. be here when ya get back though. Make sure ya tell me what I miss when you-” A sudden knock at the door interrupted the huntress. Guess the loud noises she’d made waking up hadn’t gone unnoticed after all. Sitting up slowly, Selunae gave a glance to Kyra and then toward the door.

Diana was awoken with a start as she heard loud noises coming from a couple rooms over, down the hall. Immediately concerned, as it seemed to originate from Kyra's room, she bolted out of her bed, not even bothering to change out of her nightgown, or straighten up her messy hair. Rubbing her eyes as she walked out of her bedroom, she took large steps down the hall, but before she was about to simply shove the door open, she noticed the louder noises had died down, but she could hear a muffled conversation taking place. Hmm, it must be Kyra and Lunie in there.. But what was all that noise? Gods.. I hope nothing bad has happened... Taking her delicate hand, she lightly knocked on the door a few times, hearing whoever was talking immediately stop. "Kyra? Is that you in there? Is Lunie with you? I heard some commotion a moment ago. Is everything alright?"
Hearing her mother's voice, something that she had almost forgotten was a thing that existed ever since the events of the previous night, Kyra quickly got out of her bed, rushing to the door to open it. When she did so, seeing her mother's face again filled her with so much joy, despite having just seen her the day before. It was in that moment that Kyra couldn't keep it in any more, and simply broke down. Sniffling, she gripped her mother tightly in a hug, choking out a few words as tears began streaming down her face. "O-oh, mother! I-I'm so happy t-to see you! I-I love you so much! I-I don't say that all that the time, but it's t-t-true!"
As Kyra's tears began soaking part of Diana's nightgown, she noticed the bamdages wrapped around her daughter's shoulder, and looked over at Lunie, admittedly confused and worried at the same time. "W-what in the world happened to you girls?"

Diana stood in the doorway with a look of concern as the door swung open. Selunae hadn’t expected her to check in. Come to think of it, she had made enough commotion to wake Kyra. It seemed she had woke Kyra’s mother as well. It was embarrassing, to be frank, knowing that she had caused such a scene in her friend’s house to draw so much attention first thing in the morning. Seeing the novice’s reaction to the sight of her mother was bittersweet. The huntress had returned Diana’s daughter safely home, but it wasn’t so much her efforts that had accomplished it. In fact, Selunae had been more apt to bring about the untimely demise of the older girl than salvation. What a mess it had been, but at least it was over. Over for now at least. Someday she would have to find a way avenge Flint, but could she ask any of her friends to help after what had happened this time? Would anyone even wish to assist her? This was Kyra’s fight too, though. Wasn’t it?
Had learning the truth been worth the price? Did Selunae even want to know this truth? It would have been easier to deal with, not knowing. The girl’s childhood had seemed like a golden age in comparison to the rotten reality that surrounded the circumstances. It seemed silly to hide it from Kyra. Devon had betrayed the novice just the same as her fellow hunters had betrayed her. Why had she felt compelled to tell everyone the hunters had died? Was she ashamed that they had turned to banditry? Was she trying to protect them from her new friends? Gods, it was so complicated!
When Diana’s eyes and question fell upon Selunae, the huntress almost cowered in guilt at the condition she had returned Kyra home. The archer had promised.. promised.. the woman she’d take care of the novice. With great effort, the teen steeled herself with a deep breath to recount the events of the prior night. “I-it was.. I.. She.. Oh gods.. Where d-do I even..?” Selunae tried grasping at thoughts at random, wishing for the right words to fall into her lap. Diana’s inquisitive expression didn’t afford the poor girl any relief as she tried to sort it out. “It.. Devon.. Devon did this..! He offered t-to guide us, but.. It was an ambush, he b-betrayed us and Kyra.. she.. s-she....” The huntress could go no further. In spite of all effort to hold firm, her voice cracked and her emotions overcame her. All she could do was bury her face in her hands to hide from Diana’s gaze and let the tears flow.

Please don't say it, Lunie.. Please don't tell her I had to kill Devon... Kyra's mental plea was immediately answered, as Lunie's voice got cracked up before she could finish the sentence. Thank goodnes.. I don't wanna have to explain to my own mother what I had to do... Hugging Diana a bit longer, Kyra finally let go, walking back a bit towards the bed so she foul sit down on the edge, waiting for her mother to speak again.
Diana, quite frankly, wasn't sure how to react. There were still many pieces missing from Lunie's choked up attempt at relaying a story. Looking sympathetically back and forth between the two girls, she simply said, "Look, Kyra.. Lunie.. both of you. I'm not upset or anything. I'm just happy that you both came back alive, and that's what matters most to me right now. I would hate to have lost my only child..." Shaking her head at the morbid thought, Diana continued, "You two stay as long as you need to recover. You're always more than welcome here, Lunie. As much as I'd love to prevent you two from getting off into danger, I saw yesterday that Kyra is just as determined as her father to be out in the world, fighting and helping people. Kyra, as much as it pains me and worries me sick, I think that you're old enough to decide what's best for you on your own. I know this is somewhat repeating what I said yesterday, but I felt I should restate it."
Reminded suddenly of something she kept around for emergencies, Diana started to leave the room. "I'll be back in a minute or two, Kyra. I have a vulnerary lying around somewhere downstairs, for times like this. Hopefully that'll help patch up your shoulder." At that, she walked out of the room, her footsteps being heard heading downstairs, presumably into the kitchen.
At the mention of a vulnerary, Kyra's face immediately turned to one of shame as she was reminded of the night before. Turning to Lunie, she spoke up, "Lunie.. I'm sorry about not using that vulnerary on myself last night... I know you must've left it on me for the purpose of, well, using it, but I.. I guess I panicked and didn't think I could use it in on myself and still throw it at the horse in time... I-I'm really s-sorry..."

It was difficult to cope. There was so much to deal with. Selunae could see through Kyra’s attempts to hide the pain she was dealing with, just as she knew the novice saw through her own. The moment any chinks in either of the girls’ armor were struck, the emotional struggles they endured crashed through. Selunae was deeply grateful to have Kyra’s shoulder to lean on in this tough time in her life. No matter what it took, she hoped she could make it up to the novice. Kyra had saved her life twice in three days. Well, she supposed they were sorta-kinda even, but she still felt that she owed her friend so much.
Diana’s words stuck well with the huntress. It seemed that the girl’s expression had betrayed her thoughts. Perhaps it was just the wisdom in Diana’s age. The pair had made back alive. That is what mattered most. Glancing into Kyra’s eyes with a smile – a melancholy smile, but a smile all the same – Selunae allowed the woman’s words to sink in as the tears faded once more. They had both shared a similar loss, though they both had dealt with it in differing methods. The two of them had endured though. She was sure that they’d both come out of this stronger. Selunae wondered if Kyra was thinking the same thing.
As Diana left to retrieve the vulnerary, Kyra’s visage sunk shamefully as guilt resurfaced from what must have been lingering regrets. A flash of concern surfaced in the huntress’s eyes before melting away at the explanation her friend offered. The wasted vulnerary, it had already slipped her mind. Selunae’s eyes brightened with a warm smile and gave a brief, lighthearted giggle. “Don’t be silly, you. Ya don’t have to apologize for that. We made it back, didn’t we?” The archer scooted to the edge of the bed and gave a good stretch of her arms with a yawn. It was as good a time as any to get up. As soon as she stood and put her weight on her right leg, a sharp yelp followed by whimpering burst from her mouth. The girl stumbled forward, hopping off-balance on her left leg to try and recover. Breathing in sharp gasps through her clenched teeth, the huntress glanced down to find her right calf horribly swollen and bruised on the side. She’d smashed it against a rock pretty hard while holding on for her life last night. How careless she’d been to forget. What had begun as an attempt to give Kyra a reassuring hug resulted in her having to rely on Kyra’s help just to remain upright, a sheen of sweat beading across her forehead as her injury throbbed.
“I... phew... didn’t... realize.. I..” As the pain became more manageable, speech became easier and the archer tried a second time to express her mistake. “Sorry.. guess it slipped my mind how bad I hurt my leg last night. I’m such a bother, huh.” Forcing a small laugh, the young teen was unable to conceal the pain in her face and voice.

As Lunie started to stand up, Kyra was taken completely off guard as the girl began crying out in pain. She didn't realize how bad her leg had gotten until she saw it now, and before she could fall to the ground from her staggering walk, Kyra rushed over to catch her and prop her up. Waiting as Lunie started to catch her breath, sweat beading down her face, Kyra said short and simply, "Are you alright, Lunie? Here, come lie back down on the bed." Guiding Lunie back over, Kyra helped her sit down on the edge of the bed. Whether she chose to lie down or not was her own decision at this point.
Letting out a quick sigh, Kyra spoke again once she was sure Lunie was safely on the bed again. "You scared me there for a second, Lunie.. You might be gotten seriously hurt had I not reacted as quickly as I did. I don't know if a vulnerary will help with your leg or not, but maybe we should consider splitting it when my mother gets back. You're not a bother though. Don't ever feel like you are, not to me. Friends are supposed to help each other, especially when they're hurt, right? So that's what I'm doing. Just cause I'm a bit hurt myself doesn't mean I can't help you too."
Admittedly, Kyra was very much downplaying the relatively sharp pain she still felt in her left shoulder. While it wasn't as bad as the night before, catching Lunie and holding her upright certainly hadn't helped it at all. She tried her best to keep a straight face though, as she didn't want Lunie to feel even worse than it seemed she already did.

With Kyra’s help, Selunae carefully limped back to the bed. “Yeah, I’m o-okay.. Jus’ hurts to stand on it ‘s all.” The girl winced as she eased herself down. There was just enough fire left in her to drape her hurt leg over the edge the bed, the archer collapsing to her back with a pained hiss of a sigh as she did so. From there, the startled novice began what Selunae had assumed would be a lecture. Instead, the assumed prattling turned into an offer that made the huntress smile. Sharing a vulnerary. The young archer thought back to when they had met and she had shared a vulnerary with the novice after slaying that wolf. It really had only been two days ago. Gods, how could they have been through so much together and come so far in only two days? She felt as if they had known each other for years already. Time seemed to be playing tricks on them. Selunae responded to the swordswoman’s words by reaching for her hand and pulling her closer with a sincere smile. “I’m sorry for worrying ya. Thank you, Kyra. I’m so glad that we’re friends!”
Despite the feeling of closeness that had developed, she knew there were so many things they didn’t know about each other. A lifetime of memories that neither of them shared. That could change easily though. Yeah! Both her and Kyra had their whole lives ahead of them still. Looking back, she had been so lonely after Deen left, but she didn’t have to be lonely anymore. Well, sure, Kyra would be leaving Lucerne soon to head to the tournament. She, herself, had only meant to return home for a day to let everyone know she was alive and well. She needed formal training if she was ever gonna be useful and according to Master Flint and even Roddy, that training would need to come from Sacaean tribesmen. Maybe Kyra could come with her, but it seemed a lot to ask of her. Nah, it was best to think on it a bit more. She didn’t want to leave for Sacae until she found out what happened to everyone else anyway. Selunae was pretty sure now that everyone had escaped but it didn’t stop her from worrying, and it wasn’t just that. She needed to let them know that she was safe as well.
The sound of returning footsteps pulled Selunae out of her thoughts and she absentmindedly allowed Kyra’s hand to slip out of hers as her attention focused on the returning woman.

As Lunie got settled in again on the bed, wincing in pain at first as she stopped being supported up, Kyra noticed that the girl seemed lost in thought about something, but she didn't begin to wonder what it could possibly be. Likely something involving the two of them, or perhaps her parents. She'd likely never know, but it was comforting to see that she at least didn't look upset or distressed like she was a little bit ago and the night before. Realizing she was starting to stare into space in thought as well, she spoke up, "You don't have to be sorry, Lunie, I'm just glad you're okay. And, um, I'm glad we're friends too, heheh."
I may have caught her fall just now, but that was somewhat easy. Last night was a disaster, and I was hardly able to help, barring helping Lunie and I ride away on horseback like cowards... I should've been string enough to help defend my friends and allies, but the best I could do was chuck a glass bottle at the side of a horse and hope for the best as we rode off... Father would've been ashamed if he'd seen that display of cowardice. I bet he never ran away from any battle. How could he have? He has the scars on the blade to prove he went head to head with tough enemies. And yet a group of us couldn't take on a few bandits...
Kyra's thoughts were interrupted as she heard her mother coming upstairs again. She entered with two containers of liquid, and quickly explained. "Well, you two are lucky. I had just remembered when I was downstairs that I actually had a second vulnerary stashed away too, so you can each have one if you need it." Taking note of Lunie's leg, Diana nodded, "I'm not sure how well it'll treat your leg in that sort of condition, Lunie, but I'm sure it's worth a shot."

The novice’s mother strolled into the room with a second vulnerary. It cast a damper over the romantic notion of the cycle of friendship returning full circle, but that in and of itself wasn’t a bad thing. Dividing the effect of a single vulnerary between the injuries of the two friends had been fine earlier. The injuries suffered from maw and claw of wolf were superficial in contrast to what the pair suffered from metal and stone. The huntress didn’t have any other options of treatment, anyway, besides to see what a vulnerary would do. She’d had no idea she’d injured herself so bad, really. It had been sore the night before, but she’d been able to walk on it fine. Selunae glanced down at the bruise while Diana reached one of the vulneraries gingerly to her, as if the vial would shatter spectacularly on contact. It had been Kyra that had destroyed the previous one, not her. It was an amusing thought, but the archer kept a straight face. No need to begin grinning like a loon. The other vulnerary was smoothly pressed into the novice’s palm and with that, Diana eyed them both to make sure they took the medicine. Selunae did so with no hesitation, plucking the cork from the neck of the glass and rapidly downing the remedy in a quick gulp. It was funny, this one had a sweet and fruity taste compared to the ones she’d received elsewhere. Kyra’s mother must have purchased these from a specialty shop or had them specially mixed.
“Thank you, Miss.. Dina?” The girl’s wonderment turned to shock as her eyes widened for a second. That wasn’t right! Dina? Dana..? No no no.. Diane? Diana! That was it. “S-sorry! Diana..!” Embarrassment reddened Selunae’s cheeks at the mistake. Not only had she got the woman’s name wrong, but she had done it right in front of Kyra as well. She uttered a nervous chuckle, hoping that she hadn’t upset anyone. Diana returned the gesture with a glance of dubious confusion towards her daughter’s friend, but it was replaced quickly by a soothing smile that eased the archer’s mind. “Y-yeah.. I uh hit my leg on a rock last night. Didn’t know it was this bad til I tried to get up haha..” The archer’s halfhearted laugh trailed off, the girl still feeling a bit stupid about forgetting Diana’s name. She had just blurted the closest thing that came to mind instead of taking the extra time to remember it and, yeah, it hadn’t been the brightest idea.
“S-so.. um Kyra, you were uh.. talkin’ ‘bout goin’ to see that Tournament right?” Selunae really wanted to distract everyone from her blunder, so she shifted conversation to Kyra’s plans in hopes that no one would say anything about it.

Diana chuckled a bit as Lunie struggled to remember her name, responding once she heard the girl apologizing for the mess up. "Oh, Lunie, you don't have to apologize! It's quite alright. You've heard my name, what, once? Twice maybe? I wouldn't expect you to have it down pat after a day!" After Lunie mentioned what had happened to her leg, Diana grew concerned. "Oh my, that sounds extremely painful! Well, I hope the vulnerary helps, if even a little bit." At that, Kyra also started consuming the vulnerary that she'd been given.
When Lunie started to mention the Tournament, Diana looked over at Kyra, then at Lunie. "Well, well, Kyra, I didn't know you had an interest in going to the Tournament! I'm not upset, nor surprised, though I wonder now when you were planning to inform me you were going there. The day of your departure, perhaps? Even your father had more manners than that." Though her words may have sounded like scolding from a different person, Diana was clearly lacing humor into her words, showing that it wasn't that big of a deal that Kyra hadn't said anything. "Well then, I suppose I'll leave you two girls here to talk and rest. I have a few errands I need to run around town, and I'd prefer to get them done sooner than later. I'll see you two later!"
Saying goodbye to her mother in return, Kyra waited until she heard the door to her room fully close before she started to let out a few faint giggles, clearly amused by the situation that had just transpired. Composing herself a bit, she asked Lunie a question. "So, uh, I guess if we're gonna do anything, we should just stay in here and talk or whatever. You aren't really in any position to be walking around just yet, unless that vulnerary was some miracle holy water that fixed your leg up all the way already."

A shy smile spread across the huntress’s lips as Diana dismissed the mistake. A brief thought slipped into her mind of the arrogant woman from the other day. Why couldn’t that woman have been kind like Kyra’s mother? As quickly as the gentle demeanor calmed the girl, the effect was nullified by the reaction elicited from mention of the tournament. Selunae shrank away noticeably, fearing that she’d let slip something Kyra hadn’t intended her mother of knowing. Though it felt that Diana hadn’t been terribly concerned over it, more expressed through tone itself than words, the archer wondered if Kyra might become upset that she’d spilled the beans. In any case, the delicate woman was departing. That meant that if the novice was upset, she’d find out very quickly. With the most sincere smile the worried thoughts would allow to form, Selunae chirped a a somewhat enthusiastic response to the parting lady. “Thanks again, for the medicine an’ all! I’ll try ‘n make sure Kyra doesn’t get hurt again while yer gone!” Ugh! Why had she added that last part? Perhaps it was just nerves. The woman had put her on the spot earlier, and now she was blurting out Kyra’s plans at random. Well, actually Kyra had done the same yesterday morning hadn’t she? It was rather different though, viewing a tournament as opposed to challenging a violent bandit clan. Also, there were two very contrasting mothers involved in each case. The chance of Diana throwing her out over Kyra’s plans were nonexistent.
Luckily, Kyra was mildly amused by the ignominious antics. Hearing her friend’s fit of low giggles caused Selunae to nervously chuckle herself, briefly. It spread from there into a nice genuine laugh before she settled into a modest smile. A gentle sigh accentuated the air between the two girls as Selunae relaxed again. “Oh, my leg isn’t so bad I can’t walk on it. It was jus’ that it startled me the first time.” To prove her point, the archer eased her legs back to the floor and stood, her weight shifting predominantly to her left leg. A cautious showing of the girl taking several steps proved she could walk, though not without a noticeable limp. “See? Toldja. ‘Sides, I could really go for somethin’ to eat right about now. Ya think maybe yer mom has some kinda breakfast ready? You prolly need it more’n I do.”

Kyra smiled a bit as she saw Lunie get up and walk mostly fine. She had a bit of a limp to her step, but as long as she was careful, Kyra figured she'd be alright. "Well, I guess you're right. Sorry I doubted you. I just sorta assumed it wasn't working at all." At the mention of wanting something to eat, Kyra responded, "Gee, I hope she left something for us, because now that you mention it, I'm starving!" Moving to open the door for Lunie, Kyra held it open for her to ensure the girl could focus on not falling. She also kept close by as they went down the stairs, fearing what could happen if Lunie took a wrong step with her bad leg.
As the two girls got to the bottom of the stairs, a scent wafted in from the kitchen, and when they rounded the corner, it turned out to be an assortment of foods laid out for them. There were pieces of buttered toast, which seemed to dominate the overall sent of the room, along with a few apples and other fruits in a small basket. Along with those were two small plates, each with a baked potato cut down the middle, steam emanating from the inside. In addition to all the food, there was a glass of what looked to be apple juice for each of the girls. Seeing all of the food there, paired with the glasses of sweet apple juice, Kyra could barely contain herself. It'd been a while since her mother had made quite this much for breakfast. In fact, she may have gone slightly overboard. Looking at Lunie, Kyra nodded and said simply, "Well, let's dig in!"

The prospect of breakfast thrilled the huntress, who followed Kyra carefully out of the bedroom. With deliberated steps, she kept close to the novice, hoping to use her for support should she turn out being wrong about her leg’s ability to support her. Several winces went unseen by Kyra as the archer misjudged the weight she was allowing her right leg to bear especially as she slowly descended the staircase. She mentally swore, wishing that Kyra’s bedroom had not been upstairs. From the novice’s perspective, all she would notice would be the sudden stillness of Selunae’s breath as she held it behind clenched teeth with each lower step bringing with it just a tiny bit more agony than the one before it. Thankfully the staircase was not as endless as it felt. Finally, with both feet off the stairs, the huntress exhaled deeply from the effort involved in her descent. Another inhalation was released in a less dramatic sigh before she continued. A heavenly aroma drifted about the lower floor, of toasted bread and... was that potatoes she smelled? Selunae drank in the scent, mouth watering all the while. “Wow.. That’s.. that’s a lotta food for jus’ the two of us. It smells so delicious too. It’s gonna be a good day..OW!” The huntress made a quick movement towards the spread on the table with gusto, leading off with her right leg, and almost stumbled. She giggled in spite of the pain. “I’m okay! Just got excited.” Showing a bit more restraint, at least as far as her legs were concerned, Selunae chose the nearest plate and slumped into the chair in front of it. Not wanting to be rude, she waited for Kyra to take a seat as well. The archer’s eyes met the novice’s with a happy smile for just a brief moment before she began her voracious assault on the assortment of edibles places before her. After demolishing an apple, the girl eased into a less startling pace. She carved several thin slices off of a second apple and began layering them across a slice of toasted bread. “So.. umm.. Kyra? I got somethin’ I need to talk to ya ‘bout.” The reluctance in the girl’s voice was in stark contrast to the enthusiasm that had been bubbling so energetically before. Selunae was nervous about what would come next, and she silently watched the novice’s reaction with growing anxiety before moving on with the conversation.
