Name: Wicca Ceridwen
Class: Shaman
Age: 18
Born in: “The Convent”, Western Isles
Personality: Wicca is the kind of girl who would choose to study elder magic because it sounds like the coolest. The end.
...Kidding!
Thankfully that wasn't Wicca's ONLY reason, but she'd be lying if she said it didn't play a large factor.
The curious, exploratory, mad scientist type: Wicca saw the most potential to be unearthed in Elder magic. She fancies herself an individual that can break ground in application of the nether. Studying it in all forms, but particularly in energy. Genuinely believing that Elibe could benefit from proper, refined use of magical energy beyond simple combat, she's determined to come up with unique uses for the nether.
...Plus, come on, dark magic is hella rad.
Outside of her main passion, Wicca can be a bit of a motormouth. Quick to respond and even quicker to lead, once she gets rolling it can be hard to cull the onslaught of abstract ideas, jokes, or innuendos from pouring out of her mouth. These tendencies do sometimes embarrass the girl, or get her into bad spots, but she likes to think a quick tongue is a good talent to have regardless. Especially as a mage, though her magic is cast non-verbally.
Wicca is usually full of energy and vigor, and has trouble just...stopping. Even if her body isn't going then her mind most certainly is, working overdrive on whatever happens to cross her mind. It's usually more than just one thing at that. Her energy and focus lends to a good work ethic. However, her people skills tend to vary. On the one hand she's typically cheery and...sometimes polite. People who are just the right kind of cra...er, special, may even find her charismatic.
On the other hand, she has trouble shutting up. Even if she's mostly quiet she always seems to have the need to slip in a joke or make an observation. Given her background, Wicca is rather competitive and a touch prideful as well. She doesn't enjoy being shown up, mostly by others her own age. If an older, more experienced mage does something cool, she's not above fan-girling over them. Other people are allowed to be epic and all.
Not nearly as confident as she likes to pretend she is, Wicca keeps her confidence up as a wall against the world. Her life of semi-isolation leaves her unwilling to let others too far in almost solely because...well, she's not used to it. In time, though, who knows how she may change?
Story: Wicca is the only child of the Ceridwen family: a family famous for producing very talented mages throughout the Convent. Both of Wicca's parents hold seats on the council within the Convent, her mother a highly skilled staff user as well as a highly skilled anima user. Her father primarily practiced soul magic.
Wicca, of course, figured the best way to stand out against her esteemed parents was to choose the path not yet tread in her family's recent history – Elder Magic. Of course the choice would not have been up to her at first, there were the typical tests that all children of the Convent underwent, but either way it seemed Wicca knew herself well. She was assigned to study Elder Magic all the same, her affinity for the nether stronger than her affinity for any other type of magic.
Beyond her studies Wicca's life was never as noteworthy as she would have liked. Every day felt like the same outside of her own personal studies and experiments with magic. Her parents remained focused on their own pursuits and business with the Council. It was...a bit of a lonely life, really. Most of Wicca's friends were mostly just acquaintances that wound up put off by Wicca's heritage, intensity, and the quick jumps her mind tended to make during conversations.
It bothered Wicca more than she'd ever admit, but it also did not stop her from moving onward. It was fine if her parents paid her the bare minimal attention required. It was fine if she uh, was often excluded by peers her own age. Really, it was. All that really mattered in the end was that she became an even better mage than her parents...or maybe she'd have to go beyond even that.
