Name: Henso
Class: Myrmidon
Dragon Element: N/A
Age: 23
Born in: Sacae
Appearance: Henso is a short man, only about 4ft 10 in fact and to his dismay bares many effeminate features. His face is soft and lacking in hair while the hair atop his head has been allowed to grow unhindered save for a rare trimming. Long hair was said to represent great strength in his tribe, the Kyogi tribe. His hair is adorned with jewelry and the like for purposes of style as much as it is to maintain the unruly length. If left to itself his hair would in fact reach the back of his shins, as it is it falls to his hips. Despite appearances there is a sharpness to his eyes, a deceptive and keen awareness of surroundings born from years of training and time in the wild.
Henso also suffers from having a petite frame, but refuses to be hindered by it and sports a full set of armor with the intent of standing out in spite of expectations. In truth he would be far more efficient without it as it was his fathers’ before him and was made for a larger man. The armor is made of bronze metals but polished to look like gold with a cape dyed a deep crimson. It was made to show status while maintaining a cheap cost.
Henso maintains a general demeanor of bold and seriousness. He is not one to show weakness openly and stands tall at the worst times. His blade was passed to him from his father, built from classic Sacaean methods the hilt is wrapped in both black and red but the blade shows much use from years long past. The scabbard is black but leads into gold, it is a design spared no fineries.
Personality: Henso is bombastic and loud. He is the type to take the lead in any situation and to make himself the center of attention. He will allow no slight on his honor and if he is challenged he turns away no man. He can be described as a dreamer seeking to offer his loyalties to a lord and become their conqueror. Perhaps he intends to betray them at the end and seize rule for himself, perhaps he is fine playing second in command and only wishes for the thrill of war, he won’t say.
For all his loud bellowing he maintains an air of mystique about himself, fully intentional mind you. He rejects all advances from even the most beautiful women, nor desires companionship with men, and travels alone across the land as an unusually well-armed vagabond, never using his blade for free of course.
While he seeks no love or friendship he desires two things, vassals and a lord to serve. If you are neither you are beneath his notice unless you bear a job worth a living to continue his journey.
History: Henso was born to the Kyogi tribe of Sacae. He never knew his mother but was always told that she was the sun goddess. He believed it. From a young age his tribe prepped him to lead them in battle. He was not meant to be their Grand Chief but rather their war chief. For this Henso was subjected to endless trials of combat which he had to rise above. These included challenges from other tribesmen, hunting wild beasts/monsters, and even leading a raid upon their rival tribe The Giman.
Raised for such a purpose Henso was allowed to know luxury and suffering in equal measure and it made him into the man he is today, but the greatest tragedies of his life were twofold. When his tribe was slaughtered by their rivals he had been away on a trial hunting doogs. When he returned they were in tatters and the Giman tribe was in equally bad shape. Mutual destruction If you will. Henso found his father amidst the destruction and took up his blade in vengeance. He proceeded to hunt the last of the Giman tribe until he and their final member did battle. The victor was clearly Henso.
With no tribe and no family he decided to find a new purpose and began to travel living by the blade he knew well. He seeks several blades of power spoken of in legends of his tribe. The Reinboburedo, a sword with a crystal blade said to embody the pure essence of light, The Ketsueki, a crimson hued sword said to embody the purity of the nether, The Hanoha, a bladeless sword embodying the spirits of nature, and The Bafu Ha, a blade said to give the wielder incomparable advantages in war.
Of equal import are the hidden abilities of the body that Henso seeks to master, to perfect himself in order to perfect the powers of his ancestors. For five years he has traveled this path with only a crude map in hand said to guide its owner to their destiny. To study the map and draw insight is to invite madness as its age shows a vastly different landscape to that of modern Elibe.
Henso has found work within all the nations of Elibe and made boasts of strength in each that he has continued to prove himself capable. Be it taking down a bandit leader, or fending off a wight in combat he has done it time and again. Perhaps his single greatest achievement was when he and fellow fighters defeated a bael in combat where he had delivered the final blow against it, taking its fangs as his prize.
Or so he claims he has to all that will listen. The truth of these tales is questionable at best and unbelievable the rest. But producing a pair of massive fangs has a tendency to silence most that question him. Until he is challenged in battle anyway.
