At a village near the Rhine river
Early morning
Rebuilding a nation ravaged by decades of conflict was not an easy task for those soldiers who had rebelled to improve the living conditions of the Bernese people, nevertheless while progress was slow everyday more was achieved trough painstaking effort.
Most of the warrior that remained now traded their weapons for tools and got to work rebuilding houses, bridges and roads who had been left devastated in the aftermath of the rebellion. Eventually a calm settled in across the scarred lands of Bern as the farmers returned to work on their crops. Precious time had been lost but not working the earth could only result in a mass famine that would no doubt claim more than the rebellion itself.
A blond lady galloped the trail that lead to the closest town a top of her white Andalusian stead. Judging by her neat and clean uniform she was a former member of the army. At this point all of the locals were familiar with Marina whom worked on the Village taking care of the sick and injured.
Countless people had been left in a sorry state, particularly children and the elderly were those who needed the aid the most The uniformed woman dismounted her horse whom she'd named Edel, tying him up to a tree in what remained of the town square were she had set up a temporary hospital.
" Good day, ma'am." Spoke one of the guards while performing a cordial salute.
Lance wielding sentries stood there all day and night in order to keep people form looting the scarce medical supplies. They saluted Marina who was their superior of sorts. Healers were a commodity in a war torn setting such as this one and thus her service was invaluable.
" Thank you for your help, Gentlemen. Your relief will be here soon enough." Marina replied, grateful for the men efforts in keeping looters away from their humble outpost. With that out of the way it was time for the Troubadour to get her healing staff ready and start taking a look at the people that were about to show up at their door any minute now.
