Name: Nergui Moto
Class: Cavalier
Dragon Element:
Age: 20
Born in: Sacae
Appearance: Nergui stands at a somewhat below average 5 foot 7, his body lean and lithe, though some would call him somewhat scrawny. His has wild black hair that he ties up behind his head to keep it out of his face, and brown eyes so dark one could almost call them black. His skin could be called sun-kissed, made so by his time as a youth spend in the plains of Sacae. He sports the colors of his clan on purple armor with white and yellow trim, white cloth pants and purple boots. Around his neck he wears a necklace with a small jade pendant on it, which he likes to hold close to him when he feels nervous.
Personality: Nergui is an easygoing, optimistic sort, his personality generally being described as altogether pleasant. He tends to act politely, never speaking unless spoken to and being altogether quiet and observant. This does not mean he is shy, no, quite the opposite actually. Nergui adores being around others, even if he does not contribute much to a conversation. He enjoys listening to people talk and hearing them speak on and on about themselves.
Ever since he was young, Nergui has followed the Moto tribe’s code of honor. While he may not follow every tenet to the letter, he does use it to guide his life, and there are a couple parts that he keeps close to him. Nergui will do his best not to provide aid to those who require it, and he will never let what he perceives is wrong exist while he can make it right. This does cause some trouble for him, as what he believes is right and wrong can easily conflict with those around him. Finally, Nergui never stays in one place for too long, whether that place is physical or mental, and as a result Nergui can seem somewhat airheaded or easily distracted to outsiders.
If there is anything the Moto tribe values more than anything else, it is their horses. Takhi, Nergui’s horse, is no exception to this, as Nergui counts her as his most trusted companion. Takhi herself is a wild and stubborn horse, listening to none but her rider. She can be mischievous and playful as well, to a point where even Nergui suffers the noble beast’s troublesome activities. Nevertheless, in return for Nergui’s love and care, Takhi provides her utmost loyalty, and will rarely, if ever, go against the word of her master.
History: Ever since he was a young lad, Nergui wanted nothing more than to be a hero like his mother, Sarnai, a great warrior of the Moto. Listening to stories of wandering heroes that protected the weak and defeating villains ingrained themselves in the young boy’s mind. And so it was that young Nergui dutifully practiced in what he believed a hero should be good at, and to the young boy, that was riding a horse and fighting.
The boy soon revealed his potential as a warrior. His progress with the sword, especially on horseback, pleased the elders, along with his mother, whom he often spoke with about his dreams of being a hero. Of wandering not just the plains of Sacae, but of traveling throughout all the land, accomplishing great feats and bringing glory and honor, not only to himself, but to the tribe. However, the elders of the tribe forbid him from leaving, believing him to be a greater asset to the tribe, and that the responsibilities he had as a member were far greater than whatever silly dreams the young man could think up. While Nergui complied with the elder’s words, he did so reluctantly.
Nergui’s mother sensed that the wanderlust in her son could not be contained, and so, once Nergui came of age, she took the boy aside. Sarnai told her son that she was proud of him, and that while she wishes he could stay, she wouldn’t feel right as a mother if she kept him from his dream. She provided Nergui with his armor, supplies, money, and finally, the jade pendant that Nergui now treasures so much. With a final, long, tearful hug, and a promise to return, a mother and son parted ways.
So began Nergui’s path to become a hero.
NPC fight: Nergui urged Takhi to charge at his foe, a bandit in leather armor, and the beast complied, her hooves pounding into the dirt as she began to pick up speed towards the bandit.
The bandit, noticing the mounted man growing closer to his position, shifted his stance, tightening the grip on his axe as Nergui lifted his scimitar.
As Sacaen rider closed in, he let loose a fierce war cry, and brought his scimitar down upon the bandit, only grazing the man's upper arm. Nergui cursed and reined Takhi in, furious that he had only caused such a minor wound to his opponent. His ancestors would be ashamed.
The bandit hissed as he gripped his arm, noting the small amount of blood on his fingers. He raised his axe as he charged forward towards Nergui, swinging it towards his horse. Takhi reared up in response, whinnying wildly as she narrowly avoided the bandit's axe falling upon her. The horse grunted and turned to her side, where Nergui was. The rider swung his sword downwards, the bandit barely having enough time to block the blade with the flat of his axe. Nergui couldn't help but smile, the shame of his earlier mistake lost in the thrill of the fight.
PC fight: Nergui cried out as he was struck by his opponent, tumbling towards the ground away from both his foe and his horse. Picking himself up, he realized he was faced with a perilous decision. He could try to run and mount Takhi once again, wasting time that his opponent could use to catch up and fight him on equal ground, or he could abandon any pretense of getting back on his horse, and instead charge the opponent, perhaps taking him by surprise.
He spit in the dirt. A Moto never turns his back to the enemy. Quickly picking himself up, he locked eyes with his opponent and let his legs carry him forward. Nergui roared, his blade pointed straight towards the man's midsection, aiming to run him through.
