Name: Amica Neerwinden
Class: Mage
Dragon Element: N/A
Age: 19
Born in: Adwest, Ilia
Appearance: A red-haired girl, Amica is a mage that stands about 5'8" tall, with a rather curvasceous body, made much more pronounced thanks to her red robe featuring yellow trim. While not athletic by any stretch, she will often carry a bag that contains at least two books, a spellbook and another log, alongside quill and ink.
Due to her affinity towards fire and thunder, she will often gravitate towards yellow and red for clothing. She'd rather wear a woollen cloak when out in the colder areas of the world, but when it's not too cold, she will still want to wear dark red leather jackboots so thather feet won't be too hurt when walking.
Personality: Amica is a mage for whom intellect is crucial in how she operates; she is a highly logical girl, for whom knowledge and facts are important, and critical thinking even more so. For this reason, she can sometimes come off as cold, but she will still be approachable, unless when the other party shows a clear lack of logic, in which case she can become less approachable. In fact, it can seem rather easy for Amica to form friendships and loyalty. She will often tend to learn and understand faster than average, and she doesn't seem to like having an idle mind when she is awake, especially. She often feels that intellectual training is important for training magic users regardless of the chosen school of magic.
She will often have a tendency to use magic even in the more mundane situations, such as using a lightning spell as a light source in the dark, or using fire spells to light bonfires or torches. But when she uses magic several times in a row, she will steadily increase in aggressiveness, going to greater and greater lengths to finish the job until it is either done or she runs out of mana. Normally, she will stay at a distance until she feels the urge to close in for the kill.
In addition, she will attempt traveling the land as a fortune-teller, so that she can do her part for providing for her family while the rest of the family is going away in different directions.
History: Born in the village of Adwest, in southwestern Ilia, Amica was quickly known as an outlier in the mountain village because she learned to read much earlier in life than her fellow village residents. By age 8, she already began reading magic tomes, even though at the time, she struggled a little bit in actually understanding the tomes' content. Yet, it only served to fuel her curiosity about magic, which turned herself into a curiosity among the villagers, who all wondered when she would be able to actually use magic at all.
It took a while to materialize, especially since the village's library was very, very lean in terms of collections, comprising only about a dozen books at most, which she read in their entirety before age 10, given her propensity to remain in the library with one or two villagers that were regular residents, such as the village's priest, and also the village's lack of scholarly budget, due to the village's size. The village's priest recognized the redhead's potential by age 8, and took it upon himself to teach her what she could about magic, but it became clear that she wasn't all that interested in healing magic, given that she would not be able to defend herself using staves.
However, as a pre-teen, she just couldn't travel on her own to learn whatever variety of magic might have interested her, so she ran a fortune-telling shop for travelers from other Ilian regions in an attempt to capitalize on her reputation as the village's resident genius until she was able to travel on her own, years later, when she thought that it was safe for her to start traveling in search for that knowledge she needed in order to become a more complete, fulfilled person.
By age 16, she began traveling to nearby Etruria so that she could actually gain more magical knowledge than was available in her hometown, even trying out the other types of magic, such as anima, light and dark, and, because she made the realization at some point that she would be getting more non-combat use of magic by learning anima than she would have had of light or dark, she settled on anima magic, and, upon her return to Adwest, resumed going around her business of touring the region as a fortune-telling, but she also became a mage for hire as well. Even so, as a mage, she is still a little raw.
NPC fight: As soon as she took on the mission to escort a shipment of grain across the mountains, Upon seeing the enemy bandit, Amica started casting her lightning spell, focusing on drawing electricity from the sky towards the bandit's iron axe, which she knew would be conducting the electric current to the bandit's axe-arm. Provided, of course, that it hits; she knew the spell was a little imprecise and she would need to run some distance away once the spell has been cast. Her mind began to run, and then her body followed suit once the lightning bolt ran its course.
PC fight: Amica realized that her best chance at taking out the enemy acolyte was to cast spells faster than he did, knowing that beginner acolytes like Stella were usually rather slow at casting spells and headshots would prove debilitating to his ability to cast spells. She would then get her mental gears running and start creating a fireball over Stella's head, in an attempt to disrupt her opponent's ability to cast spells. Now, Stella knew she only had a short while to get out of the fireball's way, but it may be enough since the fireball wasn't exactly the fastest. Part of her subconscious mind hoped that Stella would not be fast enough to outrun what was happening, but she knew that firing a magical headshot would not necessarily hit the mark, either. She also stood ready to stay out of the way if necessary.
