The site is fairly freeform with weapons mostly being fluff but the upgrades do still make a huge difference, especially in regards to regal and magic ones, but just how much so? I don't like to think of myself as a power gamer but there is a lot that I still look at mechanically and wonder about.
1. How does the armor between classes stack up in play and do they really matter? If so does the armorslayer make that advantage mean nothing in the way a magic weapon would? And if the armor has an impact at what point can a player say oh, he shrugged off the attack because the killing edge could not pierce the armor? Or conversely a player says he slipped the blade between the armor's gaps.
2. Silver, Light magic, and Regal vs Monsters. Here is a big one that I think raises confusion at least for me. How does all of this actually work? As I understand it silver makes monsters easier to cut and harm due to the properties of the metal. Regal ignores magic in its entirety making it like its not even there. So would an unsealed use of a regal weapon obliterate a monster if the anti magic zone was used? and which monsters are made of nether? so super dead from a regal weapon vs has a nether enhanced catalyst to create a body that would offer resistance from both magic and a physical entity? For example a revenant that can be raised from the dead vs a Mogall or cyclops even that can only really come from a magical means?
Then you add light magic into the mixture. How much better is it vs a monster? Then how much better does slayer make it against a monster?
And all of this to say that I know monsters are not enemies to be trifled with, they aren't the bandit replacement and every single one of them should be presented as a legitimate threat. But there are all of these weapons and powers that are aimed at making things easier but I don't really know how to approach it without either trivializing my own capabilities or worse godmoding myself.
I ask all of this as a general statement and even as a suggestion to add more clarity to the functions of these weapons that are around as well as to the monsters' bios. And if this is all knowledge that should first be made known within the scope of the game I would request we get a monster researching quest going or the like.
And lastly just for my own self, Vin has a Magical Thani Silver sword with 2 seals working on three. It is literally as geared towards monster slaying as it gets and I don't know if I should be able to tear through monsters or if its really a overall worthless weapon. I'm trying not to trivialize either side but I can't figure out a good concrete comparison of them vs me.
