'Yes, I do, Lyndsey. Thank you very much. You are my only bargaining chip. But Dray'Gon, that's another case. He has a better weapon, fear. if only that wretched dragon would make haste.' He said back, irritated at the delay.

Ralph looked at Matis, "Shouldn't we hurry on? Those flying guys are way ahead of us."

The tension was near breaking point. By now, several of the more sharp eyed archers were started to shout and point. The whole unit started scrambling, preparing the ballista. Lyndsey couldn't turn to look, but she guessed they had begun to notice Dray'Gon arrival. It looked like her plan might result in all of them being killed. "If you don't let me go they're going to attack Dray'Gon. He's big, but something tells me that a few bolts from those," she pointed at the balistae, "are going to hurt."

'Well, they can hurt me too! If I let you go they'll pierce me with arrows. These guys may not know it but Dray'Gon is smart. I can only hope he'll go about this smart.' He said still holding the sword to her neck yet talking with an air as though they were discussing the weather.

Dray'Gon continued to scan the ground, as well as the sky on occasion, in case he just missed the two fliers. Finally, he spotted a place that seemed to be the source of a lot of commotion. Dray'Gon began to fly in for a closer look when he spotted Ballistae.
Stopping for a moment, he quickly tried to asess(sp?) the situation. He spotted Alan, and Lyndsey. Both had seemed to land unharmed, though Alan had a sword at Lyndsey's through. There also seemed to be a well decorated man facing them. It seemed he might be in charge of this complex.
Not wanting to risk being shot down, Dray'Gon quickly headed down to the ground a distance from the camp to devise his next course of action.

Lyndsey was beginning to wonder how long Alan planned on standing like this. She was starting to cramp up from being held in such an awkward position for an extended period of time. By now all the ballistae were armed, and every troop that could shoot a bow had one. Juchack, the hero who'd stepped forth, was evidently sizing Alan up. "You do realize that we aren't going to sacrifice the entire camp for one woman, don't you?" he called to Alan. "And if you kill her, you'll never make it out alive. You're only hope is to let her go, and we can talk about this."

Alan took stock of the situation. If i let her go there would be nothing standing between me and those ballistae shots. Killing her would have the same result, only that woul keep her from flying back and lead the others in this trap. Then there's Dray'Gon. They'll either panic and shoot him, or bolt and run. Alan made no reply to the hero, the expression on his face was hidden behind Lyndsey's hair. The only thing he could do wait.

Lyndsey had tried nearly every trick in the book. The only options left were for her to try and fight her way out of the grasp, or start crying. There was no way in hell she was about to tear up. But, she also knew she couldn't fight Alan, he was much stronger than she could ever hope to be. So, she could either try and kill herself on the sword, or sit and wait to see what happened. She choose waiting, silently cursing Alan and promising him a painful death at some later date.

Dray'Gon had landed, and reverted to human form. There were too many Balistae to try and fly in, even in dragon form. He took a moment to try to piece together what may have happened. One of the two had to have betrayed the other. Dray'Gon didn't have a fond start with Alan, but in the current situation that Alan was in, it was apparent that had he been the one to betray, things would not have ended up as they were. That left Lyndsey, whom Dray'Gon almost began to trust.
"How foolish of me to think that one whom sided with the bandits would so easily change sides." Dray'Gon said to himself in disgust. Dray'Gon then thought about what to do. Alan is in trouble, and needs help. I could fly back and alert Matis and the others, but by that time... No! I'm gonna have to find a way to get inside the camp, and get Alan free.
Began to think on how he could sneak inside. He knew his wings would be a clear indication that he was not human. If he had held onto the cloak he used before to cover his wings when looking for help, he might at least be able to hide them. At that moment, Dray'Gon heard voices comign towards him. He quickly took up a place to hide to find out whom it may be.
"I tell you, I saw somethin' come down around here. It was moving pretty fast, so I didn't get a good look at it, but anything falling that fast has to be injured, or dead."
"An' I say that you're delusional. Been hittin' up the ale one to many times."
Dray'Gon frowned as two figures came into view. They were bandits, and where there were two, chances were there were more. He could easily take out these two, but transforming now might draw more unwanted attention. Dray'Gon then got another idea, seeing how one of them was wearing a cloak that might be big enough to suit him for what he needed.
"If your so sure I'm delusional, then why ya be comin' up here with me?"
"So you can't come claimin' to find somethin' that ain't there. Besides, the boss said nobody was to move around alone. There's mercenaries in these mountains, and they may have patrols. We'll be coming to take care of em' soon enough, but we can't be risking losing people before it's time."
They were coming up to a part of the mountain underneath a ledge. Dray'Gon quietly mad his way over to the ledge in hopes of making the 'attack' seem natural. As the bandits passed the ledge below him, he push a fairly large rock off the edge. It successfully stuck the bandit that had the cape, and he fell unconcious.
"What the!? Gaffry! Gaffry, are you all right? I... I'm goin' to get you some help. Hang on!" The bandit then ran off back down the mountain.
After he was out of sight, Dray'Gon quickly, and carefully made his way to the other bandit. He carefully removed the cloak, and put it on. He then folded his wings as much as he could to hide them. It would seem he had a hunchback, but it was the best he could do. Now equipped with a cloak, he headed upwards towards the camp to see if he might be able to find a way inside.

Dray'Gon had managed to get close to the camp. Looking around he could tell getting inside without being noticed would be a hard task. Not being the most skilled in sneaking, Dray'Gon still had to try his best. He picked up a pebble, and tossed it off to the other side to try and draw the attention of the guards away from him, and away from the entrance.
The guards heard it, and one said, "You hear that? Go check it out. I'll keep watch on the entrance." The other guard headed out to inspect the noise, and Dray'Gon hoped he would be able to sneak in but he was spotted by the other guard. "Halt! Who goes there? You look like one of those bandits."
Blast! I'm not close enough to take care of the balistae, and I doubt I can take care of anything in my human form... Dray'Gon stopped, and raised his hands, showing he was unarmed. The guard came over and to do a quick search to make sure Dray'Gon had no weapons. Dray'Gon quickly said, "I am not a bandit, but I do have some urgent news concerning them." Hoping to prevent him from getting the chance to see his wings.
The guard stopped momentarily and said, "If you are not with the bandits, then how did you come across this information?"
"I was wandering the mountains, looking for a path through when a group came by. I hid because I thought they might take my life. As they passed by, I heard them talking about a plan to attack this outpost, so I came here to warn you." Dray'Gon tried to put on his best poker face, while also supplying facts to try to make it more believable.
The guard eyed him suspiciously. "Then why would you try to sneak past me?"
Dray'Gon tried to think of a reason on the spot, "I... was unsure of how you would react. You said yourself I had the look of a bandit."
"...And trying to sneak past only adds to that."
"My appologies good sir. It will not happen again." Dray'Gon paused a moment, trying not to seem too eager. "Whom should I deliever this information to? I'm sure the chief of this outpost would like to hear it."
"You can deliver it to me, and I will pass it on to the commander."
This did not benefit Dray'Gon's chances of getting inside so Dray'Gon had to think of a way to encourage the guard to let him pass. "You might be able to deliever the message, but you wouldn't be able to pass on something else that might benefit the commander."
The guard became suspicious once again, and asked,"What could you possibly have that you could not pass on to me to deliver to him?"
"It is not something I believe I could explain to you in such a way that you could reliably pass it onto to the commander. However, I do know that it is of grave importance."
The guard looked at Dray'Gon for a bit, before saying, "Fine, I'll take you to him, but you will be under heavy watch, and if you so much as threaten the commander, the bandits will be the least of your worries." He then escorted Dray'Gon towards the commander, Alan, and Lyndsey.

Alan looked as Dray'Gon approached. he doesn't seemed to be held against his will. But then, he doesn't bear any weapon... That they know of. Boy, are they in for a big suprise. Alan now held his hand before Lyndsey's mouth. He didn't know Dray'Gon's plan, but he couldn't let her spoil it.

Lyndsey growled as the hand went over her mouth. She saw the dragon approaching, but was more worried about the sword than the dragon. Her best bet was to wait out and see if the dragon would do something to press her advantage.
"Who's this?" Juchack asked, nodding towards the coming dragon. "another person here to threaten our base?"
ooC: feel free to use Juchack, guys. he's a fairly intelligent hero (class).

Dray'Gon carefully looked around as he was being escorted, noting where Balistae placements were in case things turned bad. He noted where Alan and Lyndsey as the commander came forwards. He then gave a short bow before saying, "I have come to warn you that the bandits in the area plan to attack this outpost soon."
The commander looked at Dray'Gon, and asked, "And how, pray tell, did you come across this knowledge. Perhaps you are one of them yourself, sent here to distract us and lower our guard as they attack, and the moment I turn my back, you'll 'try' to slit my throat." He said the word 'try' as if he didn't expect it would be possible.
Dray'Gon frowned slightly at the commander's arrogance, but tried to recover from it before it was noticed. "With what weapons would I do that?"
The commander countered, saying, "Even if you are defenseless, which I somehow doubt by the way you carry yourself, You could easily grab a weapon from someone else." Turnign to the guard escorting him, he added, "This man HAS been searched for weapons, right?" The guard looked shock, realizing he'd been distracted from doing that. He was about to respond when the commander said, "I guess that means he hasn't. Search him now, and then tie him up! If these bandit do attack, he'll be the first to go."
The stubborness of humans continues to amaze me, thought Dray'Gon as he prepared to focus his concentration through his stone. He was not about to be taken prisoner again. He figured he'd give the commander one last chance to change his mind, however, as his cloak was removed, and his wings became visible, suprising all who say them. "I would not suggest that. I'd be a great ally in defeating these bandits, or I could lay waste to this outpost. Your choice."

Alan threw Lyndsey off him and sheated his sword. 'I suggest you choose well, commander. My friend here is beyon any of you.' Alan knew he was in grave peril but looking covinced that he was in complete control was vital to the bluff.
