Richter raised an eyebrow. "You were sent here to monitor me? On whose authority?" he asked. The last thing Richter felt like dealing with was another monitor. The District Head had been tolerable, but now he was being watched by a child? The Herald had faith in him. This had to be the Prophet's doing. You could never find a more suspicious man. He liked this boy, but if he was one of the Prophet's agents, he had no issue with keeping him in the dark. "We're simply moving the army out of Sacae. The Sacaens are overly hostile and to stay here any longer would result in needless deaths on either side." Richter waved his arm towards the hundreds of tents that were now being packed up. "You can travel with us if you wish, but before we speak any more, I'd like to get your name."

"Valorian nodded. "Not monitor you per say, but to observe the former commander. As I said, sadly his actions were expected, though we hoped to be wrong. If the army did not agree to follow the victor, we would all be dead right now following a Sacaen attack. The hope was that should that happen, I would be able to pick up the pieces. I am glad to find it was un needed."
When Richter lied to him, Valorian didn't let on that he knew better. "I see, that is a very wise decision. You truly do value your men's lives. An excellent leader."
He then realized he had never given his name to the man, and gave a short bow. "Ah excuse me, my manners must have escaped me in all the excitement. I am Bishop Valorian, at your service."

Alright, so Jya had gotten bored, everyone was like packing up to go. The two of them sure talked a lot, she felt somewhat left out, literally. Pushing herself back up, she took quick, long strides towards the tent before entering.
"Sir, or rather sirs, should we get moving? I mean, err," she tried to sound a little bit more respectful, but she never had any real lessons.
"Should I wait outside a little longer?" she asked finally, changing the whole topic. For some reason she felt an urge to grip her weapon, just in case, even on the slightest chance that something was over her shoulder or perhaps this guy was also crazy.

Valorian turned to Jya with a smile. "Ah, sorry to keep you waiting Jya. No no, it's all right. We should probably work on breaking down camp if we are to be moving. Oh but before I forget." He stood between the two.
"Commander Richter Abend, allow me to introduce you to my traveling companion, Jya." He walked up to her with a smile. "Have you been feeling better? We'll be traveling with this army for a bit to Ostia, so I don't think we'll have any more trouble on the plains."

An arrow came flying past Clair and buried itself in the lance fighters shoulder, causing him to drop his weapon. As he stooped to recover his weapon with his other hand, Clair rose to her feet. She was still weak from recovering after the battle at the fort. This would need to be dealt with quick, but how?
Corona was harrying the man who struck her as Clair circled around, and approached from Kynlis' direction. As she stepped in and struck, she remembered Commander Richter's instruction from their first sparring match. Take a deep breath, focus, relax.
The blow struck true, right on his helmet, but he wasn't done yet. He managed to get Clair between himself and the pegasus and swung his sword. Clair tried to block, but was only able to step back out of the way.
The ally from earlier had engaged with the lance fighter and was fighting like mad. Avoiding thrusts from the pole weapon, while attempting to strike home with his sword.

Richter's eyes shot to Jya as she approached. "I'm glad you seem to be feeling better," he said with a slight nod. "If you would like to rest a bit longer before we head off, I'd be happy to make the arrangements." Richter shrugged slightly. "That's if you want to. I just wouldn't want you passing out on the march." He looked her up and down. "You still look like you could drop dead at any moment, though."

Jya laughed very lightly, she had been told about her conditions many times. They always say she would probably drop dead any minute, but it hadn't happened yet. The only way to cool her nerve and respond was to try to laugh it out. She had gotten used to lying, especially around those nosy type of people.
"Well, I'll be fine, ready to go as well and don't worry, I always look like this. You know, its a whole lot easier to play dead," she responded, sounded just as lighthearted as ever.

Morgoth walked up behind his "commander" and stood silently. He hadn't found anyone to kill, so he had wandered around until he came behind Richter, and waited.

OOC: Came up behind Richter...when Richter is in a tent...if that is what you intended that he just strolled into the tent, well that is fine I suppose.
IC:
Valorian became aware of the awkwardness of the conversation now, as well as this new arrival whom did nothing to put his mind at ease. "Ah, we tarry too long, let's see if we can help with something around here Jya. Oh and I have a few things I need to discuss with you before we set out." He opened the tent flap and gestured with a smile that she should leave with him. "A pleasure to speak with you Richter." He added in parting.

Richter nodded to Valorian and Jya as they left the tent. After the room was silent, Richter coughed and brushed past Morgoth. "I'm heading over to the courtyard. If you want to keep following me, be my guest."
As Richter left the tent he saw that most of the soldiers were almost done packing up. He turned to a passing soldier and grabbed his shoulder. "Find a few other soldiers and spread the word: I want all soldiers to assemble with their things in the courtyard when finished. We leave in an hour. An soldiers not ready get left behind." Nodding, the soldier hurried off to disseminate the command.

When the two of them managed to reach a somewhat secure area, Jya tried to figure out what their next course of action should be.
"So like, what should we be discussing?" she asked, intent on prying out the conversation. She couldn't help, but look over her shoulder once or twice, clearly not at ease around here.
"I'm just being paranoid, sorry," she noted before having her attention set on Val.

Seeing as Clair, her pegasus, and the one swordsman were all close together, Kynlis refrained from taking the shot there. She didn't want to hit her newfound companion or her mount after all.
The hunter looked to where the spearman was assaulting their helper, just in time to see the swordsman take advantage of the spearman's over-extension, his sword slipping past his guard and smacking the flat side against his opponents helmet. The spearman dropped, and the swordsman went to help Clair.
Kynlis, removed somewhat from the violence, saw what the man did not. The spearman had gone down, true, but was not out of the fight. He got up, readying his spear to stab the swordsman in the back. Kynlis, not wanting the man who had decided to aid them to be killed, quickly drew, nocked, and fired an arrow in one smooth motion, just like her training. Her arrow flew true, and took the man in the neck. He stood, poleaxed, for what seemed an eternity, before crumpling to the ground. The girl stared in shock. She killed him! She hadn't meant to, she meant only to hit his arm, or, or... something other than that!
Kynlis shook her head and shoved her feelins deep down. Clair was still fighting. Not for long though, as their helper was about to attack from behind.

Clair was busy reacting to the enemy swordsman. He was forcing her back with his continued assault, until Corona started pushing forward again. They moved in on the last enemy, together. Clair and Corona were moving in unison, their old combat training being practiced and improved upon.
She struck at him with her lance and... he blocked. Using his free hand to grab the shaft of her lance he started a counterattack with lethal intent. He never got to finish it though. A curved sword crashed down on his shoulder, severing through the armor, and into the neck. Clair's enemy dropped to the ground, a pool of blood spreading around him.
As the Pegasus Squire looked up at her rescuer he looked down in concern. "Are you ok? I was going to leave with them, but I couldn't stand for killing such young things as yourselves."
Clair nodded, finally fully recovered from the blow that had knocked her off Corona. She didn't really mind being called young. She was. The pegasus was still nearby, looking after his rider. She looked down and saw the two dead soldiers. Why did they have to fight? Couldn't they understand that they had the opportunity to better their world?

Kynlis saw the swordsman cut down Clair's attacker. With that, it was all over. Looking around, she surveyed the battlefield. 2 dead men, and the 3 exhausted - both mentally and physically - victors. She walked toward the two, and, after flashing the swordsman a grateful smile, turned to Clair.
"Are you alright?" she asked weakly. Then she started and turned to the swordsman. "Thank you so much for your help. What's your name?"
"It's Jainus." Looking toward the bodies of the two men, he shook his head. "Look, you better get back to the camp. I'll deal with them," he said, indicating the bodies with a nod of his head.
Kynlis just looked toward Clair. The fastest and easiest way to get back to the commander would be flying.

Clair had no idea about what to say to him. First he was leaving the army. Now he had helped them, and was coming back. What did you say to a traitor when they returned?
Clair turned to Kynlis and answered her calmly. She felt weary, but the trip back would do much to lift her spirits. "I'm fine. But we do need to get back to camp." She hoisted herself onto her pegasus and turned to give Kynlis a hand up.
Once Kynlis was aboard Clair, looked down to Jainus, and said, "Thank you for helping us, and for standing with the Prophet. Please, return to the army when you are done here. The army needs as many good men in it as it can get."
Corona launched into the air and once again the feeling that came with flying buoyed her up. Clair looked over her shoulder at Kynlis, and gave a small smile. "So that bow isn't just for show after all. Thank you for helping back there. Those arrows may have been the reason we survived."
The camp was fairly close, so they made good time to the courtyard. As they touched down she dropped down, off Corona and looked around for the Commander.
OoC: Will edit if requested. I just thought I'd get us back since Richter and the others are done.
