"Why are we heading to Sacae?" Marcus asked Hassan, his imagined wolf companion and guide. "Because this is where I feel we should go," Hassan retorted. "That's it?!? No little bits of wisdom? Just because you said so? I'm beginning to wonder why I even listen to you." "Marcus, please just don't question me, I just know something important will happen." Marcus continued through the plains, the sun beating down on him. It was already hot, but the dark robes Marcus wore made it even hotter.
"Hassan, it's ridiculously hot. Why can't I take off these robes?" "Marcus, you know how people feel about your kind. What would they think if they saw your wings?" "Hassan, I swear sometimes your worse than my mother." "Marcus, you didn't know your mother! Sometimes your a downright dunce!" "Ok, that's it Hassan!" Marcus charged at Hassan, attempting to tackle the wolf. It only then dawned on Marcus that Hassan, despite all previous attempts to touch him, was still not solid. Marcus tumbled and landed on his back. "Note to self," Marcus thought, "Hassan is still not solid." "You see what I mean Marcus? You never stop to think!" "Let's just keep going, Hassan." "Gladly"

Byron continued down the path, he was sure that he was going in the right direction. Byron sat down for a minute, and checked the map of Sacae. "They're supposed to be around here somewhere." Byron said to himself. He layed down and kick off his boots. His satchel slid off his back and he adjusted it. He looked at his map again," I guess since that river is there." He points to a marked location on the map. "Then I must be here." Byron sat up. " It has to be close by..." Just then he saw a small black smudge near the horizon. "Aha, there you are. That has to be them, who else would be wandering out in the plains." Byron put his boots on and stood up. He drew an arrow from his quiver at his waist, and strung it on his bow. With his bow in one hand and the other holding his satchel in place, Byron went to look for a good vantage point of the plains.
Byron reached a tall shrub and crouched near it. "He can't see me from here, I'll just wait until he shows up with all his buddies." Then a thought jumped into his mind. What if he's not one of the brigands. He lowered his bow at the thought. Dissapointed in his theory, he approached for a better look but kept his head down.

"Marcus, once again you are unaware of your surroundings!""What are you talking about?" You've obviously allowed somebody to sneak up on us!'"Hassan, what are you talking ab..." It was then that Marcus heard the one leaf crack behind him. Marcus whipped around, still not seeing anybody behind him. "I know your out there! Just come out and I won't hurt you!" "Yeah you're real threatening, Marcus."

Byron squeezed his eyes shut when he stepped on the leaf. "D*** it" He whispered. He had to think quickly. The first thing that came to mind was to surprise him so he did. Byron shot out of hiding with his bow strung and aimed at the guy's head. "Freeze!" was the first thing he could think of. The guy was rather tall with black and red robes on. He had a big build and didn't look like a brigand. "I'm sorry, who are you and why are you wandering around out in the plains, especially wearing that."

Byron wiped the sweat of his brow and looked towards the sky. "Ha!" Byron laughed, "A bandit I am not, however I am hunting a group of bandits." Byron looked around as if someone was watching him. He repositioned his satchel on his other shoulder and sighed. "But I haven't found anyone yet." Byron pulled out the folded map from his pocket and glanced at it. He put it back in his pocket and watched a tree blow in the wind.

"Well that's good then, it just so happens that when it comes to hunting bandits, I'm a pro." "Who are you kidding?!? You couldn't have found a single bandit without my help!""Hassan, be quiet! By the way stranger, I don't think I caught your name." OOC: Just so you know when Marcus talks to Hassan he is talking out loud, so Byron should be picking up on this, just maybe not mentioning it.

"Uhhh the names Byron.." Byron glared at Marcus."I am the only one here right?" Byron asked as he looked around again. Maybe there are bandits nearby and they are their next target. I guess I'm just being paranoid Byron looked back again as the breeze brushed his face. The breeze made it momentarily cool out and it made Byron smile for a second. He looked back at Marcus with that glare again waiting for an answer.

"Yeah, its just me and my..." Hassan growled at Marcus and he quickly realized his mistake, "JUST ME!!! NOBODY ELSE!!! Just me walking through the plains, nobody else is here!" "Oh that was smooth." "So let's go hunt some bandits, ah Byron was it?"

" Yeah right..... Marcus...." "Sure you can join me if you can find out where some bandits are." Byron hands Marcus the map. "See if you can make any sense out of it, because I think I'm lost." Byron looks out across the plains and squints, "I don't see anything, do you?"

"Hmm, well from what I can see, the bandits have a small, makeshift village not far from here. It doesn't appear to be very large, maybe only able to support a small raiding party of four or five. With a size like they won't have enough to post sentries, therefore a sneak attack would be quite easy." Marcus handed back the map to Byron. "So what say you? Should we try it?"

Byron looked at Marcus from head to toe. "Alright let's do it" I'm going to go around back and pick off some of them while you take them head on..." Byron searched Marcus for a weapon but didn't find one." You do have a weapon right?" I don't see how he could have made it here without one, but all he has is his robes.

"Yeah, you could say that. Trust me, when we fight those bandits, you'll see what I mean. Alright, let's get into position, and to give me a sign, you make the first move. Let's do this!"

Byron ran ahead without saying another word. He snuck behind some trees and disapeared. Byron began to see smoke from the camp up ahead. There were five exactly, and Byron had his eyes on the perfect target. One of the brigands sitting close to the fire was leaning forward, giving Byron an easy shot. Marcus better follow through with this. Byron pulled and arrow from the quiver and strung it on his bow. He furrowed his brow as he concentrated on his target. Byron has never killed anyone before in his life, yet his life has been filled with death. Byron concentrated on his accuracy and let go of the arrow. The arrow went flying through the air and hit the brigand right in the neck. He fell over dead, unfortunately attracting the attention of the other four brigands.

Marcus circled around and waited for Byron to make the first move. He didn't have to wait long. One of the Bandits by the fire twitched, and fell to the ground, an arrow in the back of his neck. "Well, looks like Byron's more reliable than I first thought. Time to get dirty." Marcus reached inside of his robe, and grabbed his dragonstone. "I'll bet they're not expecting this." Marcus released the energy inside of the stone, letting it absorb into his body. Marcus felt his body growing and changing. The transformation completed, and in Marcus' place stood a black and green dragon slightly larger than a horse.
Marcus let out a roar and charged into the camp. The bandits, now clearly in shock, split up, two headed towards where Byron was hiding, and two coming towards Marcus. One of them charged at Marcus, and leaped once he was in range. Marcus let out a plume of green flame. The bandit, now caught in the flames, swung but missed and rolled to the ground, hurt but not badly burned. Marcus had lost track of the other bandit, but a moment later, realized where he was, as he felt a sharp pain on his soft stomach. Marcus reared up on his hind legs and the bandit scurried out from underneath, barely avoiding Marcus' feet as they came back down.
