As she listened to him struggling to tell her his reasons for joining, Clair slowed alongside him. He really was making good sense, actually. In this army, there were smiths, wagon drivers, cooks, and carpenters, in addition to the more militant aspects of the it.
His other reason though, really opened her eyes. Before she had joined the army, Clair had been woefully inexperienced in the ways of war. As an Illian pegasus squire, set on becoming the best, that wouldn't do. She had heard of an army in Sacae, and decided to join. Originally, she had intended for it to only be a temporary job, but fortune was with her, and she had joined athe army not as a mercenary, but as the Assisstant Officer to the then Region Officer Abend. She'd had to learn well and learn fast the ways of an army. While performing her duties in the army the last few months, she had broadened her horizons drastically....
Why not for Adete too?
"I understand...I've learned alot since I joined. Let's get up to the army."
Within a few more minutes of travel they had gotten up to the army's edge, and they passed through after a brief check. As they approached where the High Officer normally rode, the army seemed to be stopped. They halted at the edge of the clearing, behind a soldier in light green armor. Something was going on. She took in the whole clearing, amazed at the scene, before asking herself, "What happened?"
There seemed to be a cluster of people gathered in a small clearing. Some of the soldiers around the clearing had their weapons out and at the ready. She loosened her own weapon in it's saddle hook. Commander Richter was there, and also that High Commander that was leading the forces here. She glanced at the robed man, but quickly looked towards the wyvern rider that the High Officer was conversing with.
By the Prophet, what happened? I leave for 20 minutes, and this happens! She was a little bit irked to not know what was going on, but turned her attention to the her Commander, who was walking away from that man in the robes. She'd just have to watch and try to get an idea of everything that'd been going on until someone filled her in.
Clair dismounted Corona, and motioned for the musician to get down as well. "Adete, I think, maybe, we'd better wait for a bit. This looks like bigger stuff than us."
...As though anyone would walk into the middle of a clearing bristling with weapons.

Adete looks at the crowd, and sighs. "I can wait. Nieah's horse, however, is getting tired. I will play a calm song of my father's design, so that her horse ca rest." He jumps off his horse, and gets out a piccolo.
Adete takes in a deep breath, and begins with a small, unheard note, that escalates to a simple tune. As the melody runs, memories melt, while some stand out. Memories of dreams, the shortest, yet sweetest dreams. Adete himself finds it hard to lose focus...

Mavick did not respond to Morgoths constant chattering. He stood completely still, his right hand raised so that his three undominate fingers could rest under his chin, his index finger hooked over, covering his lips, and his thumb raised, nestling into his cheek*. The only sign that he was still alive was his eyes. He was blinking, and occassionally, his eyes would move up, down, or to the side, as if surveying the area.
*Thats what I do sometimes when I'm sitting around the computer and thinking. If you've ever seen Hughes sprite, just imagine that with the hand raised slightly.

(OoC: okay, I'll keep this post nice and simple. Then, we'll move on.)
The newcomers were all guarded and the army slowly started marching again. Ariston invited both messengers to march next to him.
"Now, where's that letter." He asked and showed a cool gaze.
"You will not find the Herald here, but you might as well adress me. Read it to me boy, read to me what it says." Ariston smiled at the messenger. While he was stern, he had a feelings, but wished not to show them.
They were only a day away from the old fort called "Salvation Point". This mission was almost over, but first he had to take care of some business. Mainly, all those new people. He had been given orders that this mission had to be top-secret. While waiting for the letter to be heard, he played with the dragon stone. So this was their source of power. The Prophet would be very pleased with such a gift... A dragon on their side... he should get this Dragon to surrender and to join him. But those were worries for later, for now he awaited the reading of the letter.

Guinevere had taken off her helmet and stored it again now that the excitement was over. She was a tad disappointed she didn't get to prove herself more, but she was patient. She knew there'd be another time, probably soon, where she could. She looked around as the march started up again. She couldn't see where all those new people had gone, but she could see Commande Richter still. She smiled slightly. He was the type of soldier she strived to be, and having an example like him was a great help.
She kept looking around and spotted the soldier from earlier, still looking her over. She glared at the man, who had a rude gesture back. She sighed. Pig. She looked around more to notice several of the nearby soldiers had taken to staring at her. Some looked away quickly when she noticed, other just kept staring. She shivered slightly. Guinevere didn't much care for be stared at all the time. She wanted to do something, making some kind of scene to get them either in trouble or just away from her. But she knew better and kept her mouth shut. She'd get back at them, they'd see.

Marcus now found himself guarded by Richter. Still missing his dragonstone, he was irritated. However, the presence of a potential ally soothed him a bit, and allowed him to think clearly. "So what's your story?" he asked the pink haired swordsman.

Not looking directly at Marcus, Richter acknowledged the dragon. "Let's just say I'm trapped here, just like you. The only difference is that I'm in a position to do something about it," said the High Officer. He'd tell him enough to get him on his side, but not enough to jeopardize his position. Such information could be fatal if it got into the wrong hands. "What's important is that my name is Richter Abend and I'm a High Officer in this here Inquisitional Army." Wiping a clump of hair out of his face, Richter turned his head towards Marcus. "I don't plan on staying a High Officer forever, though."

Marcus thought to himself for a moment. "Inquisitional army? That doesn't sound good," Marcus thought, "especially not for a dragon like me." Marcus turned back to Richter. "So do you have a plan? I'm gonna need my dragonstone back if I'm to be any help at all. And that xenophobe Ariston isn't likely to give it back until he has me by a chain." Marcus shuddered at the thought.

Clair watched the scene continue to unfold before her, but she wasn't close enough to clearly mae out what was being said. Adete's song played softly in the back drop. She had to admit, the idea of having a musician to take away some of the monotony of the day was sounding better, and better...
The Pegasus squire noticed the soldier in front of her. She was mildly surprised to see that it was a woman, not a man. It looked like she had been at the site since the start of the ordeal. Taking a few steps closer, she turned her attention to the armored lance fighter while her Commander was still busy. She tried to assume a proper attitude for speaking to others in the army.... The High Officer always seemed to have the perfect balance of authority, and openess. If I want to be a capable commander myself someday, then I'd better try to pick up some of his talent.
"Soldier, what happened here? What is going on?" There...that sounded professional enough, I think.

Guinevere snapped to attention as Assisant Officer Feldsky addressed her. "Ma'am. While you were gone, a..." She felt embarrassed to say this, because it seemed so unreal, "well, a dragon landed in front of us. An archer rode the beast and dismounted upon landing and the dragon then somehow turned into a man. Commander Richter confronted the two, as a wyvern rider also landed. The dragon-man gave some kind of stone to Commander Ariston, who had come up by that point. After that, all three were put under the guard of soldiers. I think I saw Commander Richter himself guarding the dragon-man, Ma'am." She hopped that she had done a good enough job reporting to her superior. She hadn't had to do it many times, and never to anyone so important. She was quite nervous, but hoped it didn't show.

Clair took in the story, and stood there, rooted to the ground, in astonishment. It wasn't that she was noticibly freaking out. It was more like her brain just refused to understand. A DRAGON! Those were in the tales that she heard as a child. They taught about the Holy Knight, Barrigan. She heard of some of his exploits at the academy in Arphen. It was taught there so it must be true, right? But that's beside the point. Dragons were supposed to be dead, right? Of course, there had been rumors of dragons a few years ago, while Clair had been in training.
Archer... dragon turned into a man,...wyvern,... Commander Richter guarding the dragon-man? As the familiar name came into the discussion, it gave her something to seize on. It would need some more filling in, but at least now Clair knew some of what was going on.
She put her hand on her face shaking her head slowly for a moment. "A dragon... What next?...It's no wonder that the High Commander came for this personally." She'd seen angry mobs of Sacaens (quite unusual itself), then the living dead assaulted them. Why should she let a dragon surprise her after all this?
"I... Thankyou." Clair started to turn back to the larger picture when she thought of something. Hadn't she heard of this soldier before. "Guinevere the Gorgeous" was what she'd heard. She was a rather beautiful young woman. She'd gathered that some of the men thought she herself was rather pretty as well, but it was better to behave around an upper ranked soldier, especially one who was the assistant to a High Officer. Really, her tasks kept her too busy to think much on it. She looked back at the soldier.
"Are you you Guinevere? I've heard of that you're making a name for yourself here. Maybe you'd like to have a spar with me later?"
OoC: Just so people know the ranking goes like this.
High Commander Arriston, High Officer Richter Abend, and other NPC high officers Other Ranks, Assistant Officer Clair Feldsky, other NPC assistant officers,
>Mavick fits somewhere in there, as he works directly under Richter, as a tactician.

Guinevere was surprised that an Assistant Officer knew her name, but didn't allow it to show on her face. "Yes, Ma'am, that's me. I hope you've only heard good things," she said with a hint of a smile, "I've tried my best to let my actions speak louder than my looks, but it doesn't seemed to have worked out too well. I hope one day people will know me for my fighting skill rather than my looks, but I'll just work at it til then." She shifted her lance slightly as she spoke, bringing it to an ever straighter position. "I would be honored to spar with you, Ma'am, if you had the time."

Byron looked down at his feet, dissapointed in the amount of freedom he had. Byron didn't want to be a hostage forever. He realized if he wanted to make this work out, then he would have to act now. Byron stepped forward to see if Morgoth would notice, he didn't. Byron proceeded to walk closer to the person in charge. Byron cleared his voice and spoke up. "Sir, you are the one I'm supposed to address correct? Byron asked not waiting for a response. "I do not wish to cause harm to you or anyone in this army, so I give to you my quiver of arrows. Also, I wanted to know If, when Marcus is deemed trust worthy, I will be free of being kept prisoner." Byron said as he waited for a response.

Richter signaled Marcus to walk with him. He'd prefer to get Marcus away from Ariston as possible. While the High Commander was proving to be more amiable than Richter's other superiors, he wasn't going to be walked on. "I don't have any concrete plans at the moment, but I do know that to get your stone back," said Richter, looking the dragon in the eyes, "somebody is going to have to die. I hope you have no qualms about that."

Marcus listened intently to Richter, as he started to walk. "Qualms?" he said, "Personally, I can't wait to tear that mans head from his neck and rip out his..." Marcus stopped himself, realizing he was being overly grotesque. "If you can get me my stone back, I might let you fight on top of me." Marcus looked at Richter and gave him a warm smile. "Richter, I have a feeling this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."
OOC: I'm sorry I just had to say that.
