Kelvin had watched the others leave the cave and now stood in the mouth of the cave, watching the battle rage. He wanted to join the battle, yet... Kelvin felt as though he should stay here. Chelsea was still here and she was unable to do any fighting. If a wolf slipped into the cave, she would be defenseless. The cavalier unsheathed his lance and walked back into the cave, sitting down on a log next to the archer, giving her a small smile. "I couldn't just leave you here," Kelvin said reassuringly.

Chelsea felt herself immediately gravitate to Kelvin. She felt bad leaving Rin to warm herself, but she couldn't resist a change to snuggle up to her boyfriend. There was something about his warmth that wasn't like any other. A small smile grew over her face as she looked up into his face. "Thank you..." She snuggled into him, getting it so his arm was draped around her. She felt safer this way. She knew he'd never let anything happen to her.

Gabriel sat by the fire, his back against the wall. The fire had helped keep his mind clear of all the noise that had suddenly filled the cave, what with the large amount of people now in it. Morgoth, Aaron, Rin, Lea, Fargo and Perseus had somehow all found their way to that lone cave in the middle of nowhere. And now two of those were out with Yaen and Valcrist, probably looking for Fargo's friend.
"Joseph...?" he listened. Fargo was lying down right next to him, Aaron kneeling by his side. Just then, a howl could be heard outside. No...this was more like a screech. It pierced your ears and sent goosebumps down your spine. Most of them had probably heard it before. Gabriel stood up almost instinctively.
"They are close" he said, approaching the cave's entrance and trying to look outside. "What the...?" a girl was lying on the ground, not a meter away, the wolves snarling and growling around her. Without even looking behind him, he shouted, trying to get the attention from those left inside the cave "Need some help here, FAST!". He brought his Fire tome out and tried to conjure up a fireball, only for it to turn into vapor just as fast as it came to be. "Damn it!" he said, and simply rushed towards the girl, hitting the wolf on top of her with his tome.

As much as Chelsea was enjoying her Kelvin time, she knew he had to go help. "Kelvin, go help Gabriel. I'll be fine here for right now and they need you." She gave him a little poke. "Go. Help. I'll be here when you get back." She gave him a little smile. Sure, she didn't want their little time here to end, but she wasn't going to be selfish about it. He had a job to do. The others needed him more than she did. And she needed him to help, because she didn't like nothing being able to.

Apparently, the green-haired boy was still not feeling well. He continued to groan, a name occasionally slipping out amid the sounds. Joseph What was there to do, or say. He attempting to reassure him by saying "not to worry" wasn't going to cut it. There were people out there, in this drencher of a rain storm, fighting to help a companion that they had only heard about. Whether they'd understood the boy right or not, there was definitely a fight going on out there.
Aaron glanced around. His new acquaintance, Kelvin, and an orangey haired archer girl were over on a log doing what looked very much like... cuddling. A grin overtook him as he looked away out towards the cave entrance. Even as we here on the cusp of ruin, at least some are able to indulge in the simple joys of companionship. He shook his head a bit at the tone of his thoughts, still grinning.
That was when they heard it. A shriek, one of the blood-curdling sorts, pierced the mages thoughts, shattering the mirror of his musings, and revealing the stone of resolve underneath.
Gabriel appeared to know what that sound was as well. Aaron was only a step or two behind the younger mage, to the entrance. He took in the scene before him. Three of the wolf-like monsters, and a girl fallen at the entrance. A complication arose, when Aaron realized that Gabriel wouldn't be able to sustain a flame in the rain. The determined youth had ended up running out and using his book like a bludgeon.
Aaron considered his options, but ran out of time as he saw a wolf leaping at the mage. Using the training he'd developed over the years, the Mage threw his arm out, launching a stream of flame out. The energy used to sustain the flames had been tampered with, adjusted to burn like a chemical fire. Even in the rain it would continue to blaze, sticking to it's target for a few minutes, till it's slow burn fuel ran out. The trade off was the energy required. Aaron felt his remaining resources drain away. Thankfully his teacher always taught him to keep a small reserve. Aaron cut loose with that too.
The fire stream blazed out and hit the wolf charging at Gabriel, sending it sprawling, before it got up and rolled away, tearing at itself, trying to get rid of the unrelenting flames. There were small spots of flame on the ground still hissing, and burning in the rain. That was all Aaron really had time to see, before he fell, feeling a wave of weariness the like of which he'd never felt roll over him. He caught himself on the side of the cave, and managed to ease away towards the middle again.
He decided he really wanted a nap about then, but that he wouldn't give in to just yet. He wanted to see his end coming, if these creatures made it in. "I just hope... I hope Barek thinks I'm advanced enough to learn more of his lessons by now." He mumbled to himself.

Arturia couldn't move and just lying in the ground. She was conquered by fear. One wolf moved closer to her, sniffed her face then opened its mouth. Arturia closed her eyes, prepared herself for the worst.
Damn it!"
She heard someone's voice and opened her eyes. She saw a man hit the wolf with his tome, the wolf was thrown away after that hit. Another wolf rushed to her savior but burned by strong flame casted by someone standing near the cave entrance. She noticed her savior still standing beside her. "Thank you.", she said to the man who saved her life and got up quickly.
The last wolf growled and leaped to them, opened its mouth to show its sharp fang. Noticed the danger, Arturia pushed the man beside her down to the ground. Both fell to the ground and the wolf missed its target, but the wolf landed quickly and attacked once more afterwards.

I save him, and I get a glare. Yay. Helping people is so profitable. With a roll of the eyes, his gaze returned to the wolf who was painfully slowly circling him. He was close enough to the injured man that he could bolt there in no time, helping him if he needed it. Though... All this running was starting to wear Val down, it was one thing to run, it was another to run under a lot of pressure while the ground is trying to keep you trapped and eating your feet with mud. Speaking of which, didn't feel nice. Val preferred dirt. Or rather sand, despite it being gritty and coarse.
"Come on... attack or something. I'm not going to show you my back, so just... just attack so I can kill you." He looked at the wolf with annoyance in his eyes. With a howl, it obliged and charged at the boy. All words to the contrary, he wasn't quite as prepared as he thought he was, and was caught by surprise. The wolf leapt, and while it missed with its snapping, gnarling teeth, Val slipped and landed on his back. The mud decided to change from suctiony to slick with no warning, and without shoes Val had nothing to stop his foot from slipping. He landed somewhat hard with a splash, and to add injury to injury the wolf decided now would be the perfect time to attack to boy. The monster leapt onto his body, its sharp claws digging into his flesh and tearing his already mostly ruined clothing. It went to tear the young man's throat out, but found a blade in his mouth instead. Even if Val wasn't quite strong enough to pierce bone, a blade there would be more then enough to take most living things down.
He stuck Fang into the earth, using it to pull his self up. Bleeding from the claw wounds, and feeling all around sore from his tumble. He hoped this battle would be over soon.

Wein sat on the foothill, his cloak set up over his head in a makeshift tent, held up by some sticks and anchored by some rocks. It shivered and shook with every gust of wind under the gushing torrential rainstorm bearing down upon him. On observation, this "tent" was a modern marvel: a miracle of engineering. Despite the almost ridiculousness of the storm the archer had found himself in, he had managed to create a lasting shelter out of nothing but some twigs, a few stones, and his own clothing. All those architectural books had finally paid off. About time.
It was of little use, though. Due to the angle that the wind was blowing the rain at, most of the water went right under the top of Wein's makeshift cover, and as a result, he was soaked from head to toe. He had originally set up the tent to keep him dry, but after the wind had changed directions for the umpteenth time the archer simply gave up. Oh well, at least it made him feel a bit better about the situation. With a grim smile, Wein held out his canteen, letting the rain water fill it up, and bit into his wet, soggy bread rations, staring out into the rainy scenery before him.
It was at that moment Wein's blood ran cold and an icy shiver ran up his spine. Not from the cold, but from fear. A familiar cry, bestial and frightening, rang through the air. This time, however, Wein was all alone.
"You have got to be kidding me..." thought the Ostian, eyes wide, frozen to the spot where he was sitting, though he kept on chewing, no...drinking his bread. With a shiver he looked around him, but couldn't see any of the beasts. They were sneaking up on him. This was the end. Wein shook his head vigorously, as if shaking the stupid thoughts out of his head. "Get it together," he told himself. "You've been through worse things before. Like dragons, and fire, and evil sorcerers, and the undead." Yes, if he could survive that, he could survive anything...right?
Putting his wheat mush down, Wein untied the ribbon around his bow, letting it spring into its battle ready form. He stuffed the ribbon into his pocket and slowly, cautiously, he crouch-walked to the edge of the small, rocky cliff he was sitting on.
Beneath him he saw quite the sight. Beasts, swordsmen, mages, damsels, the works. Nothing too unusual. Plus, they were all down there, and he was up here. That was a by-the-book tactical advantage. Wein: 1. Them: 0.
Realizing his efforts would be much better spent killing evil demon wolves, then watching them like a zoo attraction, Wein quickly drew an arrow, notching it, releasing it, and watched it zip through the air, lodging itself in the side of a half-burnt beast. From what he could see, though, much of the shaft was still visible. A shallow hit. "Damn, I forgot how thick their hides were," he muttered. Wein: 1.3. Them: 0.

Kelvin simply nodded at Chelsea, kissed her on the forehead an stood up. Grabbing his lance he strode out to the cave mouth, he watched the chaos outside for a second, then ran out into the rain. A wolf was attacking a young woman, so Kelvin charged headlong at the wolf, plunging the lance into its back and then vaulting over it , ripping the lance out as he passed over it. It snarled at him and then lunged for his throat. Kelvin threw his arms up in defense and felt the sting of the claws dig into his skin. Kelvin fought the urge to shout out in pain and swung the end of his lance at the wolf, knocking it aside.

A knight killed the wolf but got injured in process. Now just two wolves remain, one had burnt by flame but still alive somehow. Arturia looked to the mage who help her, she noticed that he couldn't use his fire tome because of this rain. But still,he jumped into danger to save her form the wolves. She appreciated his effort.
Suddenly, a wolf howled in pain. For some reason, an arrow pierced its side although still not enough to kill. Then, the two wolves ran away to the forest. Arturia looked up and saw someone holding a bow standing there, he was the one who firing the arrow to that wolf, drove them away. She smiled to him showing her gratitude. Then she changed her attention to the wounded knight. "Mmm, if you don't mind..." Ignoring her own wound, she used her staff to heal his wound.
Her cloth was wet, her body was cold and tired, her wound was aching. She needed rest for sure after what happened.

Damn, that was close
"Are you both okay?" Gabriel asked the girl, getting up and closing in on both her and Kelvin, and then looked at whoever had fired that arrow. The rain only let him see a rough figure, far from identifiable. It did have the physique of a man, though. Whoever he was, they'd thank him if he got down from up there.
"We better get back inside before we catch a cold. It'd be a bad idea to travel while being sick" he said, trying to get both Kelvin and the girl to follow him into the cave.

She had finished healing the knight's wound when the mage told her to follow him, her skill wasn't a top-class but that must be enough to ease his pain. Then, she followed the mage into the cave, she saw another mage near the entrance, he looked exhausted. She noticed that he was the one who did that incredible fire magic. Even in Etruria, that was rare. But she was too tired to think anything right now and just go inside the cave. Inside there, she saw three girls sat near the fire.
"Fire."
She joined them and warmed herself near the fire. She felt warmer and relaxed. Then she noticed the girls who sat beside her, they were Sacaen. It was her first time to meet one. She remembered the Prophet's words, he said many bad things about Sacaen because of their religions. Still, she never believed that words, the Prophet wasn't better with his extreme way.

Yaen sheathed his swords. Just as the second sword's guard hit the scabbard, something jumped into his mind. "Valcrist." he stated, making his way towards one of the wolves. Kneeling down, he rolled the beast over, and found what was nagging the back of his mind. Grabbing the arrow, he pulled it from the beast with relative ease. "Arrows do not fall from the clouds." he stated, mostly to himself, as he stood up, unsheathing his right hand sword. "Who's out there?" he demanded in a loud voice. "Show yourself!"

Valcrist kinda sorta lumbered there. He was still standing, though he was bleeding. It wasn't a serious wound, but it would be enough to slow him down. That was something he couldn't ignore, he pressed his eyes even more then before to pick up any signs of attack so he could put them down before it called his agility into question. The tip on his blade was covered in both blood and mud, and he felt wetter then he'd been in his entire life.
On the brightside, it looked like the number of enemies has dropped. Significantly for that matter. The battle would be over soon, he just had to wait it out...

"That's the last of 'em," muttered Wein as the last two beasts ran off into the woods. With a sigh, the archer began to grab his things and pack up. There was no point in hanging around in this rain now that he'd revealed his presence. It was then that he noticed a blue clothed Sacaen examining the beast he'd struck with his arrow. The man removed the shaft from the monster, then wheeled around and drew one of his blades.
"Who's out there? Show yourself!"
Wein, his satchel over his shoulder and his cloak around his neck, was about to give them the slip when he noticed the sword brandishing Sacaen had another sword sashed to his belt. "Wait," thought the Ostian. "Two swords...?" Wein crept over to the rocky edge, peering closer to get a good look at the man's face. No, it couldn't be. He roasted in the forest! Well, at least that's what Wein had assumed. The archer took a second look. No, it really was him.
"Yaen!" he called out, hopping over a small boulder and sliding down the foothill, waving as he did.
