OoC: Lol, Sabin, you should have stated that Sabin's hair and beard looked just as scruffy as ever.
Wyatt sharing in Aaron's own opinions hadn't been something he'd expected. Well, if he wanted to come along and play "nurse maid", Aaron wasn't going to stop him, but he still didn't have much of a direction.
Just then someone else came up, asking for directions and eventually, for where they were from.
"We've come for different reasons. Most of us are here to perform though. I don't imagine this land has had much entertainment for a time, but we're here now...." Aaron adopted an earnest tone, reinforcing his statements with a calm, business-like manner. He was able to do this, because he fully meant everything he was saying, even while leaving out the core of their business. "Everyone should be able to relax for a good show or story now and then."

When the green haired person responded to Gaven’s question it was quite a shock. He hadn’t expected him to talk at all so hearing it from him was quite a surprise.
I thought the warrior was the leader. Maybe I misjudged again? If what he says is true though then they are equals, because performers have no hierarchy. Hmm… why would traveling performers need weapons? Well I don’t know if he has a weapon but the red haired one so this one properly does likewise. I understand why traveling performers have weapons, because Bern is a dangerous land for travelers. So why hide them… ---- Gaven common sense and him had a conversation after that thought: So what should I do? Leave. That’s not fun. And it’s also not fun to be bleeding profusely. They won’t hurt me they seem nice. Can’t you ever listen to your common sense? Theirs a reason you were gifted with it. Why couldn’t I get amazing physical attributes instead of a nagging common sense? Likewise why couldn’t I get someone that actually had a brain instead of a rock? Ouch you know that hurts my feelings. I don’t care I am not connected to your emotional sensory. Jerk. Thank you. Anyway he seemed very truthful when he said it. Well he didn’t answer my original question he twisted it. Yes he did. No he didn't. he said "We've come for different reasons" He still didn't tell me were he came from. He just said reasons thus not truly answering my question and making it vague.I am going to ask again. Don’t! How about a deal.. Hmm… I am listening. Your always listening, you just never do it. -----
Gaven then relayed what his common sense suggested deal was, “If you are traveling performers can I hear one of your stories then?”

Grayson didn't completely agree with Inigo when it came to Saffra. He stroked the back of his head and shifted his weight to the left a bit. He didn't want to be at odds with a kindred spirit in the way of proper hair styling, but he couldn't help but speak his opinion.
"Well I'm not so sure. She seems quite civilized. Though I have no such experience with Manake... Manakot... whatever she is. I suppose I should differ to more experienced minds such as yours. Aaron and Gabriel seemed to have no problem with her, though."
Grayson peered back at Saffra and then at Aaron. It seemed he was conversing with some stranger. He figured it was just a guard of some sort.

At the suggestion of telling a story, Aaron felt the inklings of a grand saga ringing in his mind. The potential for a great story. However, he also knew something else. Their time was not his alone to organize. The rest of the group would probably be wanting to get away from the ocean, or at least get to work. They'd been cooped up on that ship for a while, and now that they were free, the walking fever would probably take over for a bit.
"A story?" The green-haired man asked. "Alright, but only a short one."
He cleared his throat for a moment, knocking the salt clear of his windpipes.
"Once, in a land quite like this one, there was a traveling band who came from across the sea. They each came for reasons their own. Some to tell stories." Aaron smiled at this. That was obviously him. "Some came searching for knowledge, that they might better perceive their world." This also was Aaron, searching for information on Bern, Illia, his own puzzles, and anything else of value. He was a vacuum, scouring away every morsel of information he could get his mind around. "Lastly, some came, simply because their friends came, and they wished to be there for them." That had been Aaron's original purpose in coming here, to Bern. His eyes dulled, just a bit, as he told his tale. So much for being there for your friends.... Now get over to Gabriel and let him know.
Aaron continued his story then, for the lad, smiling teasingly as he went on. "Upon landing, they blended into the crowds and dockworkers so well that some of those people came up..." The Mage paused for a fraction of a second, building suspense to what would already be becoming a forgone conclusion. "and asked for directions to the local shop.... Alas for their bard, they were still just in the process of getting unloaded, and organized for departure, and so he was only able to ply his trade for but a few moments."
Finished with his impromptu tale, Aaron rested his hand on the lad's armored shoulder for a moment, then released it. "That's all for now, but if you're still interested, you should probably talk to Gabriel. I guess he's... something of a crossroads. Most of us know him, even if we haven't gotten to know everyone else that well yet."
Aaron, being a natural at speaking, decided to take this opportunity to try and further Gabriel's goals a bit. Perhaps something of a parting gift. "Anyways, how about you boy? I'd guess you're from an out of town army unit. Are you part of the occupation?... Or, perchance are you from a group of mercenaries, traveling through the region?"

After hearing the impromptu story, Gaven was wondering what it sounded familiar to. Dam I am an idiot. It’s the events he’s been in… He tells stories so well I would love to here what he says of grand battles. Why does he have a hand on my shoulder? Gaven resists trying to squirm away from the older man’s grasp in case he may appear rude. When he releases his hand Gaven lets out an audible sigh but he quickly clamps his free hand over the mouth. To try to hide that rude gesture Gaven thoughtfully considered the questions the stranger had asked him.
He was obviously not an Illian soldier unless he truly was a master liar. He had seemed truthful with him so Gaven decided to be truthful with him. Gaven though wasn’t completely stupid though to reveal everything, just like the stranger was probably doing to him. Gaven formulated his sentences before replying.
“I am not like you all-knowing bard” Most people can’t resist flattery so Gaven considered the bard to be no exception. “I came to town to buy goods which was why I was asking for your directions.” Stupid layout of this town. It may be ready for a war but finding your way around was quite impossible.
“Sadly these goods are not for myself so I am very lenient about when these goods get delivered.” Gaven considered just stopping there but he realized that this bard couldn’t hurt him with a few extra tidbits. “My job on the other hand is not with the occupation” Upon saying the last word Gaven laughed a few laughs as if he was saying a private joke to himself. “I can say were my income is coming from is an organization. Sadly I can’t tell more because of certain oaths, which I bet you, can understand.”
”We’ve had this whole talk without exchanging names. Mines Gaven” Gaven does a small bow than quickly pretends he lifting something up because he is supposed to be a peasant. He extends his free hand for a handshake which is the peasant way.
He also realizes it also make it akward because theres two of them and he has only one hand. So he improvises and lets his spear drop which make a clanging sound on the gravel and then Gaven holds out both hands looking quite stupid in the process.

Wyatt watched the interaction between Gaven and Aaron, chuckling to himself.
"Wow, you sure do know how to dig right to the heart of things." He remarked, cautious not to drop Aarons name unless he wanted to. "And it is a little curious asking where we are from right off the bat." Wyatt said, sizing the boy up. Though only a bit older then him, he was much taller then the boy, and of a much tougher build as well. Clearly the hired muscle intimidation factor was on his side.
Wyatt laughed when Gaven dropped his lance on the ground, picking it up and handing it back to him.
"Well, now I know you are harmless." He said, a bit of mirth in his voice.

"All-knowing bard" was laying it one pretty thick. Thick enough that the mage couldn't help but smile in amusement at the name. The armored boy's answer as to who he was working for was suitably cryptic, though it certainly tipped Aaron off about one fact. His employers were interested in staying hidden. That alone made the mage consider checking in more, or at least sharing with Gabriel.
Aaron worked hard to keep the laughter from his face when the lad dropped his lance on the ground. He couldn't quite make out what the boy was trying to do. Wyatt was right. The boy seemed harmless.
"Well Gaven," The green-haired Mage stuck his hand out and grabbed the boy's hand, shaking fairly firmly, "you can call me Aaron, And... you've really gotten me curious about your group now. Occupational hazard of a bard. To always be curious. Hmm...."

Ha, about as harmless as a thief. You may think it now but when you notice the knife in between your ribs you will reconsider. Nevertheless Gaven didn’t say this but accepted the lance back and said a quite gracious. “Thanks” Gaven then however, imagines a lone battlefield were the red haired individual is clutching were his heart ust to be. A Javelin is in the place of his heart. The lances point is barely visible from the otherside of the man’s back barely missing his spinal cord. He’s trying to stop the blood flow but he is ultimately failing.
Gaven then visibly shudders at thinking these thoughts. He was probably was just trying to be funny with no insult intended. Gaven had noticed earlier that the red haired individual had been looking at him for some reason. It just occurred to him that he was sizing him up. So Gaven decided to do likewise because the bard had been distracting him from getting a mental image and sizing up the more deadly person. infront of him.
He was quite simply bigger than him. He was of a muscular body with round broad shoulders. This person had no stubble or mustache upon his face, so he must take pride in his appearance or dislike the scruffy look. His jaw was quite prominent so he must have been in multiple battles. Gaven decided with his final image: He more athletic than me. He is the type to run into battle without thinking. He probably dislikes politics do to the shifty nature. He also is most likely on the stupid side because rarely few people can have that much athletic talent and still be able to have a brain. I think he is a faster sprinter than me but I may be able to out endurance him. So pretty much he is a follower and not a leader and I am not ANYWERE near to his skill level. Note to self: Do not make him angry unless you want to be maimed.
Gaven realized he had said too much. Aoran probably had the resources and the ability to find out what organization he was working for. When he did it would mean the end to his family, him, and the terrorist group. He needed a way to right that wrong fast, when a brilliant idea yet far-fetched idea dawned on him.
Gaven said “Ahhh” and scratches the back of his neck to appear less sucipious. He then replies hastily as if to avoid interruptions "I just realized its getting late I have to go..and buy stuff.” he then sped of in the direction he had come in. It was quite obvious that he was trying to avoid the question, so he didn’t stop sprinting till 10 minutes later to avoid being caught by either one of the travelers. Oddly though none of the townsfolk had even tried to stop him.
Now though Gaven was quite simply lost he started to wander amislly till he hit a sign, wondering how he was going to make this work. “Mehhet’s Emporium- the finest place to buy all your miscellanies goods” Why couldn’t I have found this earlier and avoided meeting Aoran and the fighter. He walked in and saw a purple haired woman dealing to a man in his youth. He was probably around 17 or 18 and he wore a sheathed sword to his waist. Also upon his back was an oak bow but Gaven was at an angle that he couldn’t tell weither the man had a quiver or not.
This man turned around letting Gaven see more of his face. He had blonde hair that neatly rolled into a pony tail on the back of his neck. He had 20 yellow fletched arrows n his homemade brown quiver.
He noticed Gaven staring at him and asked casually “umm hello?”
“Are you an illian soldier” Gaven asked hopefully. His plan may accutally work if his answer was to his liking.
”Ya, why?”
“Because I was told to deliver a message from” Gaven then used one of the master horseshoer’s name that he had heard. “That there have been an unknown load of mercenaries that are most likely are going to be used to help Bern’s freedom.”
”How do I know that your not lying”
“Do you want to be remembered as the person who could have stopped the rebellion and yet failed?”
”Hmm... Okay I will alert the guards and get there as fast as we can. What direction are they in. thanks for your patronism.” Ohh this soldier had no idea how ironic that sounded.
“Uhh….” Gaven had been running through the street so fast he hadn’t had the time to memorize the directions. So Gaven made an educated guess which could potentially make sure that the soldiers wouldn’t even find Aaorn’s group, because they would think it was a prank not a real alert. "East”
The man quickly hurries out of the shop leaving a package behind. Gaven stares at the package unsure what to do until the lady says “Just pick it up he isn’t going to be back for it. He was so exited about that prank that you did on him he won’t even remember he came here.”
”Prank madam? That was most definitely real” Gaven said not particularly paying attention to what she was going to say, because his mind was on steroids Yes it worked! Most likely those people will now hold an everlasting grudge on Illia for attacking them if it works. Anyway it’s a win-win situation because they are probably going to kill illian soldiers and if they die it deprives Illia of good fighters. Unless of course they are Bern rebel members and I just blew their cover. Let’s really hope not otherwise I will hate myself. First of course it has to work so no use dwelling on it.
”Ha Bern’s freedom is only the stuff of wishers and dreamers think about. Now do you want to buy something in this store or not” The madam says the first part wistfully like she dreams everyday of it. The second part though her voice goes all business.
Gaven peaked inside the package to see a Vulnerary ((well there has to be some way or characters start out with 1 of these)) nestled inside it. Gaven carefully takes it out and puts to his side before saying “Sure show me your wares”

Gwen hit Inigo on the shoulder. "Uncle Inigo! There's no need for that kind of talk. Be nice!" She hit him a few more times. She wasn't exactly surprised, however. From what she could remember, he'd always get into little fights with her parents over various things. She sighed, old habits die hard apparently. But she'd try her best to get him to stop. Shaking her head, she walked about from her godfather and sat down a little ways away from everyone. Her thoughts drifted back to Rayl. Was he ok? Was he with someone else? Was he fighting for his life? She hoped they're pick up the pace and meet up with him already. All this waiting was killing her.

Gabriel chuckled at Saffra's comment about breathing fire. That'd convince people with ease, and with three mages on board it would be easy to put on a show should things come to worst.
After a while everyone had gathered their belongings and met near the entrance to the port. Gabriel took a look around to check that no one but those from the group were nearby.
"First priority is to get information on the state of things. Anything will do. Just be mindful not to let anyone know where we come from or who we are. We'll start right in this port town. If nothing comes up, then" he added, taking out his map, "we'll move north from here and then slightly to the east. There should be another town not far in that direction."
He stood there, looking at everyone's face. There were varied reactions, and it only felt normal to ask at that point. "Any questions, guys?"

Wyatt sent an odd look to Aaron when the boy ran off, it wasn't his usual care free expression, this was actually serious.
"A scout, you think?" He said to Aaron, thinking nothing else needed to be said. Wyatt himself had no special reason for being here, but Aaron and his company might have drawn too much attention. Hell, the lot of them stuck out like a sore thumb.
"Something about that kid. He got a look in his eyes, I don't think he was really just looking for directions or a story. He was way too nosy and way to quick to leave when things got 'complicated'." Wyatt's face scrunched in thought, should he have done anything different in that encounter?

Aaron considered, thinking back over what he'd gathered from the brief encounter with Gaven. "I don't know. He did get out of here rather quick though, once I pressed him for information.... Dipping into this mess of hidden meanings won't get us anywhere, but I don't believe him to be an adept liar." The mage didn't supect the boy to be with the illian occupation forces, though he wouldn't put his life on the line to prove it.
"We probably ought to be getting out of here too. Let's go join up with Gabriel."
Aaron stepped lively, heading back over to the group, and collected Fable from where he'd tied the etrurian crossbreed of a horse, leading the grey along behind him. "North and East is good. The farther we can get into the middle Bern, the better off we'll be. Unfortunately, I won't be with you for much longer Gabriel. I think I'd just start getting in the way on this trip."
The green-haired mage waved off any objections that may be forth coming. "We can talk about it on the way, but why don't we head out now, hmm?"

Gwen stood and brushed off her bottom before making her way over to the group. "Heading out sounds like a good idea." She looked back towards the ship. "I feel like I'm gonna throw up again if I have to keep seeing that thing." She shook her head and looked away from it again. She shivered at the thought of being back on that thing and looked at Aaron with a weary smile. "If I ever puke like that again, I'll be too soon."

Aaron laughed, cutting through the various noises of the docks with a ringing clarity. "Indeed, you did seem to cause quite the mess up there Gwen, but I'm sure Inigo had it coming." His voice and the teasing expression he wore made it clear that he was only kidding around, and not intending any injury with his words.
"If I ever need another sick pal, I'll know where to come first, but I think we'll be better prepared for any other occasions. I intend to study the use of heal staves at the first available opportunity. The last thing we need is to be stumbling around heaving our guts out everywhere."

Gwen gave a thankful smile. "That'd be nice. I have a feeling a ship ride could be fun if you weren't being relieved of your lunch the entire time. And it would be very nice if we ever had to fight on one, cause like you said, it would not be good." She sighed, she hated getting seasick. "So, what do you think we're gonna find now that we're here?" She had to admit she really didn't know much about the present situation. "Do you think all the rumors of rebellion are true or is it all just made-up?"
