Alice was being currently in the basement with a candle on the lone desk reading about the eight legends. Saint Elimine had many books devoted to her efforts in raising the church and the religion, but the other heroes she fought with were less popular. Alice did not like that. Surely everyone was equally important and should expect their stories to have the same reverence as time passed.
“Alice!” Father Reeves’s voice carried from above her in the sanctuary. Alice winced slamming the book shut and quickly putting it away on the proper shelf.
“Here I am Father,” Alice responded as she rose from the basement back up to the sanctuary floor. “What do you require of me?” Alice asked looking towards the older man.
“Oh Alice, what am I ever going to do with you?” The old Bishop sighed. “You are going to join the sisterhood soon in Aquleia. I know all the excitement got to you, but you need to be planning ahead. They may not be impressed by you knowing your way around a heal staff many can recite verses from memory.”
“Of course Father, I’ll go start memorizing now.” Alice said politely and bowed respectfully. Father Reeves was wrong it was not exciting it was horrifying…right?

Night came up to the entrance to the village. Looking around, he spied a familiar headstone, and took a short detour. "Hey, Leeroy." he greeted, looking down at the headstone with the name Leeroy Jenkins enscribed on it. Night smiled. It wasn't untill after they buried Leeroy that they realised why he insisted on being introduced with his full name. He didn't just want to lay in a nameless grave. After a brief salute, Night sauntered into town.
Well, it was getting close to dusk, and Night was tired. There was just one problem. "Out of money..." he muttered, staring into his coin purse. A void stared back at him. Closing the leather pouch, Night kicked the dirt. What the hell was he going to do now? "Hmm...I wonder..." He pondered, tapping his chin. "Well, he is a priest after all. Humanitarian and all that. And we did save this place." he reasoned. "Right! Church it is, then!"
Night approached the church door and rapped loudly three times before opening it. Stepping inside, he peered around. Empty as his coin purse. "Hello?" he called. "Father? Sister? Anyone home?"

The old church door groaning from the strain of doing its job and opening grabbed Alice’s attention. The light blinded her from actually seeing the figure, but she could make out the shadow. It was definably a man, wearing armor, and carrying a sword. Alice blinked and the man was inside. It was one of the mercenaries that saved the village. He was the…oh what was his name.
“Night!” Alice called out quickly moving to the back of the church towards the young man. She reached him and let her eyes scan for injuries. He looked different. Maybe it was the lack of blood, but he stood taller, his armor looked better. Did he have more muscles? His arms definitely looked bigger. Alice felt her blood rush to her face when she realized she was staring at the mercenary’s muscles, his arm muscles.
“Are you alright? You’re not injured are you?” Alice shook herself out of her trance and placed her hand against Night’s forehead.
“Alice? Who is at the door?” Father Reeves called out.

Night blinked. "Oh, uhh...Hey, Alice." He felt a little awkward, what with the look she was giving him. "Uhh...Is there something on my face?" Really, what was with this girl and staring at him? Sure, he probably looked a little different, but hey, so did she-Wait, her chest was flatter than that last time. Night was the one catching himself starting to stare this time. Blushing, he looked up at the ceiling. "Nah, I'm fine." he muttered.
Oh yeah! The priest! "Hey, Father! It's me, Night! From Balbos's group!" he called out to the man. "Where are you? I kinda want to talk to you!" Back to Alice. "Uhh...It's nice to see you again, Alice."

(OoC: I feel the need to beat you up now…)
“Oh sorry,” Alice drew her hand back. Her eyes fell to the ground and stepped out of Night’s way to allow the mercenary access into the church.
“Ah, you are one of Balbos’s boys. Well what do you want? Hmm, you’re not here to study up on religion I take it?” Father Reeves looked at the young lad and then at Alice.

Night scratched the bridge of his nose. "Eh, no Father. No offence to you or the Powers That Be, but I've never been all that interested in the good book." he admitted. "To be honest, I'm here for a favor. Y'see, I left the troop a little while back. I'm headin' down south, to Lycia. Problem is, I didn't exactly leave with much in my pockets, and I haven't exactly found any work from then 'till now. So, I was wondering if, by any chance, you'd let me stay here for a few nights, just untill I can get some income coming in. I promise to pay you back later."

“So, you need a place to stay while you make some coin? You can stay here, and I bet anyone left over from the attack remembers what you did. The locals would probably love to have you do some quick jobs for them in exchange for coin. They probably would just give it to you if you asked.” Father Reeves leveled Night with a look then. Alice flinched. She knew Father Reeves was trying to telepathically inform Night that asking for the coin would not be something he approved of.
“Where do you want to put him father?” Alice asked hoping her interjection would be well received. Father Reeves blinked and gave the young girl a once over.
“Well we cannot have him sleeping down in the pews, maybe we can get some bedding up in the bell tower?” The old man pondered looking up towards the bell tower. Alice grimaced, thinking about the drafts and birds that were common up in the tower.
“Father, there is enough cloth in the basement. I can stay down there and Ser Night can stay up on the ground floor and sleep in the pews.” Alice offered. Father Reeves scrutinized her closely.
“You’re only saying that because then you will be down there with all those books.” Father Reeves sighed dramatically and rubbed his forehead. “Fine, but Alice honestly what am I going to do with you? How about that Night? Will this old church be able to put you up?”

Night didn't have a problem with staying in the bell tower. After all, this was Ilia, and there were harsher conditions than what the bell tower had to offer. It was wolf free, for one, and at least it was dry. But Alice had other plans, and convinced the priest to let him sleep in the pews.
"I'm content with wherever you decide to put me, Father. I'll just be glad to be out of the snow and away from the wolves. Beggars can't be choosers, after all."

Alice hardly waited for Night's approval of her plan before she darted towards the basement with badly repressed glee on her face. Father Reeves may have shot Night a look of utter exasperation.
“Do try to get some rest Night, you do not look all that well. Remembering the last time I saw you I should not be able to say that.” Father Reeves raise a skeptical eyebrow at the young man, but did not say anything else just simply shook his head and walked away.

Night blinked. "...What did he mean by that?" the mercenary wondered aloud. "...Oh well. No point in dwelling on it." he figured with a shrug. Night pulled his cape around his body and laid down on one of the pews. "Gotta get some sleep so I can get some work tomorrow..."

Alice may have stayed up until some ridiculous hour of the morning. Night may have heard Father Reeves clamber down the stairs and toss a blanket on her. Alice may have gone to sleep like a good cleric and gotten up bright an early the next morning.
“Good Morning, Father!” Alice chirped along with the early morning birds and the older man crept towards her and the little hovel of a kitchen. Accurately, it was a fire with a table.
“Bah!” Father Reeves called back motioning with his arms as Alice passed him a steaming mug. “I know you demon, you are caffeine.” There may have been eye rolling when she turned back towards the fire. Father Reeves took a long draw from his mug and sighed blissfully. He smiled into the mug and took a deep breath. “Are those hot cakes I smell?”
“Not exactly, but we have a guest so I thought it was best if I cooked.” Alice spoke lightly keeping her eyes firmly placed on the fire place. She was not about to mention Father Reeves porridge in any way shape or form. Ever!

Night cracked open an eye and yawned. He closed it again, and rolled over. Right onto the floor. There was a heavy thud, then a yelp. "Damn you, gravity!" Night growled as he sat up, rubbing the back of his head. "Ahh, damn, that hurt..." Night complained.

Alice jumped when Night crash to the floor, she turned to Father Reeves who simply lifted an eyebrow in her direction. Communicating quite plainly that he was not about to get up and check on what just happened. He was an old man after all. Alice picked up her skirt in one hand and hurried over to Night’s side.
“Are you alright?” Alice asked crouching down by Night moving her hand to the back of his head to check the damage herself. “I guess it is a good thing we did not put you in the bell tower…” Alice mumbled to herself fingers assessing the damage to the Mercenary’s thick skull.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Night insisted, brushing the Cleric's hand away. "Just fell off, is all. Not the first time it's happened." He assured her. Standing up, he let out a groan as he stretched out his arms. He then sniffed. "Whats that smell?" he asked.

Alice backed off rising up to her feet, "Um," Alice started peering over to the kitchen, "Breakfast?" The cleric smiled a little nervously. She knew her food was much better than Father Reeves, but it was not like she had an actual cook book or anything. She had apothecary books, but salves were not always meant to be eaten.
"I mean, breakfast, there is hot tea and hot cakes, except they are more of an herbal cake because well we have a lot of herbs. Oh and the tea is herbal tea as well." Alice rambled off at a fast slightly panicked state. Quickly retreating away towards the kitchen area to check on all said food item.
