Wyatt grinned at her comment of fighting him again. [red]"Maybe a little bit later. I've got a couple of holes in my style I want to fix first. If we fight for real, I've gotta be at my best!"[/red] He seemed content to sit here underneath the stars just talking. It was nice to have someone to talk to anyway.
[red]"I'd wondered about that for a little bit."[/red] he responded. [red]"I mean, I've run into a lot of people over and over again in my travels. I think it's just because people like us are the only people who really up and move on a whim. Most people stay by their towns, leaving for trade once in a while. And people like us are easy to remember, we stand out. I think it's just that we are always moving around, looking for excitement, conflict, riches, fame, what have you. Drawn to battle like moths to a flame."[/red] He theorized, running his hands through his hair.
[red]"I mean, I've met lots of wandering adventurers like myself. Plenty of loyal knights out on missions, mages looking for some incredible knowledge, and..."[/red] He paused for a moment, considering if he should even tell her. Ah what the hell?
[red]"You might not believe me, frankly I don't think I believe me, but I've met a dragon before. It was weird, she looked like a human when she wanted to. I guess that was how she stayed hidden."[/red] That was just him theorizing, but he knew that Saffra being a dragon was true. Her saving him from a collapsing magical academy has vanished all doubts.

Mana only smiled and kept silent because she wasn't really serious while asking it. Of course she wanted to, but she wouldn't rush it. They would still be travelling together for a while so the chance would come by itself.
Listening to his theory, which sounded pretty deep into the matter. It sounded true and convincing in its own way. "Well, it could be. Maybe we, who always go adventuring, are connected by a thread of fate?" she said, giggling. She was joking about the fate, Mana wasn't sure if something like fate was really exist. If there was something that. "Probably not, I'll call it coincidence. But we did met for a reason, Wyatt. See? You repaired my sword and then accompanied me," she said, swinging er sword cheerfully, almost hitting Wyatt but the myrmidon didn't notice it. "Unless we are just characters played in some sort of drama that destined to meet each other somehow," she added then laughed.
Dragon? That creature wasn't fictional, was it? Mana had ever heard about them only in stories and old tales about The Scouring. By the way, she remembered that Elias ever mentioned something about a pink-haired dragon falling from the sky. "Actually, I do believe you. You don't look like lying to me," she said. Mana looked quite surprised when he mentioned it, though. "Eh, wait! Did you say she looked like human?" she asked again.

Mana mentioned threads of fate, and Wyatt chuckled. [red]"Oh boy, you sound like my sister. She was always wondering where her red thread would lead."[/red] He said, before considering that such a old world custom might not be known to her. [red]"Ah, right. An old idea is that everyone you will meet is connected to you by an invisible white thread. And that your soul mate is connected by a red thread. It's just a old wives tale from back in the country, but some people really believe in it."[/red] He finished, before listening to her reaction to him mentioning dragons.
[red]"Well..she could. Most of the time I was traveling with her she looked just like a human. I mean, if you looked close she had weird eyes, with these vertical slits in them. Long dark-ish hair, she seemed pretty nice too...almost like one might expect from a grandmother or something. But the big form...it's something else. We'd wound up in a collapsing building, a magic academy in Laus, and if it wasn't for her protecting most of us from the rubble, a lot of us would have died. She just grew into this huge form...like the size of 4 or 5 houses, and just closed her wings around us all. I was unconscious for a bit of it, so I don't remember too well."[/red] He seemed to think of it for a moment.
[red]"I mean, if there are some left after all this time, maybe they learned how to hide? It makes sense to me, we're their enemies aren't we?"[/red] Though he said it, he wasn't sure he believed it. Saffra had gone out of her way to save them all, and she had never been anything but kind towards them...but why? The old legends said they were enemies.

Mana crouched and watched Wyatt speaking about this dragon. This story about a kind dragon sounded interesting, but felt weird somehow. She only knew that humans and dragons ever had a terrible war called "The Scouring" a long time ago. That war raged in Elibe and ended with the dragons being expelled into other world. Those tales told the children about heroic deeds the Seven heroes had done.
"So she did...look like a human?" Dragons were supposed to be big, weren't they? To gear that those big creatures transformed into humans, or at least a form that looked like a human, was surprising even for her. "Wow, they can change forms. That's cool," she said, seeming interested to his story. By the way, she ever had this topic with Elias before although she thought he was joking that time.
"Must be magic. They can change forms using dragon magic," she remarked. She didn't serious when she said it, of course. The girl couldn't really understand how the dragons was able to transform their form into human-like, but the thought only had spurred some excitement to meet a real dragon in her heart. "But..." She looked hesitant when she heard his comment, crossing her arms while thinking her response. "I am not quite sure if they are enemies. She had helped you, hadn't she?"
"But I have only ever heard that Hanon fought against them to save humanity. Does it make them bad guys?...Uuuh, now I become confused," she said, grumbling. That was a long time ago, it might be possible if the dragons in "this time" was different from Hanon's era.

Wyatt just shrugged. [red]"They might just be like people, if you think about it. I mean, if the first people they met were brigands, thieves and murderers, they might think all of us are like that. Maybe the war came about because one side only saw the bad of the others. I mean, people can be good or evil, whose to say dragons aren't any different?"[/red]
He stood up, stretching, noting the sky even darker then it had been when they stared sparing. [red]"Well, we've got a long road ahead of us tomorrow. Maybe we should get some rest, especially since I've got a lot more training to do."[/red] He added with a laugh, nursing one of his many bruises from their exercise tonight. Aside from a bruised ego, he didn't have any major injuries. Well, you learned more from mistakes anyway.
