The sun rose over the horizon and brought with it the new dawn. The light, in all of its brilliance, shinned down onto the world and brought the deeds of men into light. Oichi, daughter of both Grace and Oleg set out to once again find her lost father. With Wutaka hung over her shoulder she followed the leads that he left behind. She looked up his old contacts and followed the stories of his movements. His path however, was a dark one. His movement mirrored that of the bandit horde that had assaulted the city of Heroes. The more and more she walk the path the more she saw the darkness her father was walking in. The answer was clear, but Oichi had not wished it so. Her father was one of the men fighting to pillage the city. Still there was hope. As before seige ended she heard tales of bandits switching sides and joined up with the heroes. She heard of the fall of the demon king and the brave men that fought to revise there wrong doing.
"Maybe he was among them", spoke Oichi as she walked the plains. Now she was simply following rumors. The forces that had left the City of Heroes moved in different paths. One group went to the north and another to the south. She heard tales of a man clad in black armor moving to the West. This she thought could have been her father, so Oichi walked the path. She wondered where was he, and what was he doing. "I prey for your safety father and if you have departed from this world I prey for you peace", spoke Oichi into the wind.

So, tell me Baron... What do you know of our HUMBLE host, hah?!
Sir, you know as well as I do that he does not reveal it to even me. We're totally in the dark, so posh off somewhere else with Jester.
IR BURNS IT BURNS IT BURNS IT BURNS IT BURNS
It sure does, lad, it sure does.
While the figments spoke, Mandess kept on trucking trough the region. He was getting closer and closer upon the mountainous border of Sacae and Lycia. Just some more and he wold claim what his king wished for him to. He would claim... He would... Would. His thought broke in two as something deep for once overcame the shade, stopping it in it's tracks upon the sight of a pink haired maiden below the ledge he had been traveling. The shade's mind rushed inwards, trough every little yell or conversation the figments were having, trying it's best to fish out answers, only to finally find...
The man had awoken.
Was that a good word for it? Awoken would imply it had consciousness. It did not. It simply had memories, a soul figment, simply something he used to fuel himself to move forwards at the very beginning of his journey. Now it was just there as his plaything. And that plaything was reacting violently to seeing the maiden. His... Daughter. Yes, yes, the shade could recall it now as memories flooded it's mind. So happy, so cheerful. So caring too. Oh, just the perfect daughter for an old drunkard.
The shade decided to just give the fickle what it wanted, reaching for the magical spear he had not yet to name, slowly and painfully ripping the man's head off of the spear. He then casually threw it down to her.
"Catch."

"A black wind begins to blow", spoke oichi as the wind suddenly turned a bitter cold. Goosebumps broke out all over her body as a cold chill shot through her body. She was not sure what was going on, but she knew it was bad. Suddenly she felt a presence, and a dark one at that. The maiden looked up to see a dark figure standing on a ledge. It wore black armor and had eyes as red as fire. Could this bee the black armored man she had heard about. She was hoping it was her father, but that could not be her father. She was not even sure if it was a man. The cold chill that rand down her entire body gave testament to information that her eyes were sending her. This was no man, but she still did not have a idea of what it was.
"Who", spoke Oichi, but she was interrupted by the thing. Catch it said and it dropped something Oichi's way. The maiden was perplex by the gesture. Here she was thinking it was some kind of monster, but now it was speaking. It tossed something her way. It almost looked like a ball or maybe a orb. She could not tell from below, but it was black and apparently smelled. Out of pure instinct Oichi caught the object. It was gross almost like sack of meat. The smell matched the feeling. Whatever it was it was decayed, almost as if it was sitting out in the sun for several days maybe even weeks. Oichi was going to drop it, but something about it seemed familiar. She could not put her hand on it, but it radiated with her memories. Curious to discover why Oichi turned the object and then her heart turned cold.
Silently Oichi stood there. Her eyes staring at the object. Her blood was a icy chill and her eyes as big as the moon. Her hands trembled and her heart sunk. "Father", she spoke as her legs grew weak and she fell to her knees. Tears began to flow from her eyes like blood as she stared at the decaying head. She had no words to say. No words to speak, only tears, tears and sadness.

Oh... Oh, come on. That was just uncalled for, look at her! She's practically bawling her eyes out already and...
Oh, SHUSH Baron! See, she's just growing. As slaughter! You know how they sometimes whisper to cattle while cutting it down? This is like that, just... More fun! Hah!
... I swear, Sir, you fit the farm life much more than me.
This exchange kept silent as the shade leaped down from the ledge, walking over to her slowly. If she took a step back, it'd just follow right after her, spear held low. It's eyes flared, although the head was tilted. To toy or to slay, to play or the claim... Such choices were always oh so hard for the shade. It did enjoy the pain and suffering of others, so killing her while she was still fresh in mourning was just so... So rewarding. But on the other hand, he could go further. He could make her break. Make her break so hard she would lose her mind, sink into her deepest depths, sink so low she would take her own life and feed his lust for souls as soon as possible without any work from the shade at all.
In the end, he chose the latter. Breaking someone so close to... His spark, would create joy. So it walked up to her, taking the head as it's own then suddenly faded from existence, holding it over where the real head would be. It looked dead still, but it fit the dead corpse so well.
"Oich... Oichi?" The voice called out, just like good old Oleg back in the day. Almost... Eerily too similar.

Oichi sat there for a moment. Her entire body numb. She held the head and stared into its eyes. There was no doubt this was her father's skull. How did this happen? Why did this happen? Why was that man or thing carrying this around with it. How did it know she was looking for him?
Everything was so confusing. Oichi's mind was a blaze with emotions of sadness and of confusion. Why was this happening to her? Had she done something wrong? Why was she being tortured like this? Not only did she have to watch her mother die in her arms, but now she had to see her father's death. She had to hold his head and look at the decay. Why could he have not died of old age and inside of a bed. He could have read to her children and even helped name them?
"Why is this happening", spoke Oichi. Suddenly her father's head was pulled form her grasp. The maiden was surprised to see the monster standing next to her. Was he not on the ledge, she though to herself. She was so focus on herself and her emotions that she did not see the monster descend. She did not even feel his dark presence as he grew near and removed her father's head from her arms. Now that she was close she could see. See that this was most definitely not a man. There was something there, something not human. Its body, its head, and the whole feeling of it. Everything was just... wrong.
"Oichi", the voice spoke out. So familiar, so common, just like her fathers. Oichi stared up in complete terror as the beast wore her father's head. It began to speak like him, talk like him, and mimic him so. It was too much for the poor girl to bare. A mixture of sorrow, fear, and anger began to boil up inside of the maiden. Oichi began to tremble. She was not sure if it was out of anger or fear, but something was happening inside of her. with a great leap Oichi jumped back and drew her sword. Her hands were shaky and her eyes hot with tears.
"Stop", she spoke as her knees quivered. She guess that it was fear, because never shook when you were angry.

"Why are you crying?" It kept talking. It kept imitating him so well... Like he was there. Maybe he was? Maybe the little spark had gone trough and actually won the shade, winning itself the freedom to become Oleg once more? Maybe the gods favored him so. The shade sat down next to her. "There there. Daddy's here." Those natural words sounded so wrong in the end when one compared to the fact that they were coming from a dead, rotten head that just oozed in the fact that he was not actually there. Or was she? Had she gone insane from grief and sorrow and she did just not realize it?
Is this real life?
Or is this just fantasy?
"Listen, listen. I have a story for you poor soul." He rested the shadowy hand on her shoulder, the rotten smile showing all of his teeth (and what rest had fallen off) to her in a way that just radiated what Oleg had been. A bit shady, in general coarse, but in the end warm to her and a few other people in his life. But could it make her forget this probably was not him but just something much darker posing as him?
The shade dropped down it's spear to reveal it's clearly peaceful intentions, patting on it's armored knee, as if wanting her to sit down unto it like she was some little girl. And maybe she was to him? His little girl. If it actually was him.

It was too much, to much of a monster. It acted peaceful ,strangely sarnie, but its aura gave her warning. It told her the thing that stood before her was no man, but it wore the face of her father. It spoke like her father, and even gestured like him. It was all to much. The grief, the anger, the sorrow.
"Enough", shouted the maiden as she raised her sword. Her eyes stared into the emptiness. She knew this was not her father, and yet it had the nerve to mimic him. It acted as the person she loved the most in the world. What was this monster? Why was it doing this? How did it know her father? Why was it wearing his head? Things were so confusing and so frustrating.
"How dare you", she spoke as he hand began to tremble. "How dare you act like my father? How dare you speak with his voice and wear his head as if it was your own! Then you would have the nerve to invite me in! To reenact the things I dreamed of as a little girl! Foul creature I will send you back screaming to the abyss!"
With both hands on the grip Oichi swung her blade at the Arum knight. Her eyes were filled with tears and her heart with anger. The sadness and grif that once overwhelmed her turned to rage. She was going to make this creature pay. Pay for killing her father, and pay for toying with her emotions. Whatever it was Oichi had enough of it.

"... Now that was simply stupid, little girl. Too, too stupid. And now... I guess a girl like you needs to be PUNISHED!"
Why in all the levels of hell and those that are not even known, why did you let Sir out? He's going to--... Oh for hells sake, Lord. I didn't think you'd actually kill her.
The shade didn't care much for the girl's fate. He had gathered what he wanted, that being her starting the fight as her sword slammed against it's armor, simply causing a loud clang to echo from the armor. It then took the head off calmly, suddenly impaling it back onto it's spear. It made a rather sickly crunch, clearly the head was still rotten and not totally devoid of organs. It then jumped back from her, it's shadowy head soon growing back as it picked up it's dropped helmet, placing it onto it's head.
It then pointed it's spear to her. If it had a mouth it would be grinning by now... Mostly because for once Sir was the one pulling the shots. The usual calm and collected battle demeanor was gone, and all that was left was bold rage that could erupt at any moment to try and crush the girl.
"Come then, girl... Join your father in the eternal sea of souls. Wouldn't that be nice, hah?! You, him, and a thousand other crying souls just ANGUISHING for the eternal peace of true death!" It prepared to lunge at her as soon as she moved.

The blade connected, Oichi was surprised. She expected the monster to dodge or for the sword to actually do more damage. Wutaka was a armor slayer, but it seemed that the blade did not pierce. A normal person would question the quality and craftmanship of the sword, but not oichi. She understood the moment the blade cut into the metal and did not cut clean through. It was not the sword that was lacking it was Oichi. Oichi was better than a novice, but other than that she was not even worth mentioning. The strength of her arm was weak, she mainly relied on her speed and precision to do damage and it was coming to back to bite her now.
The creatures movements were surprising though. The moment she attacked she expected it to react violently and fearsomely. However it remained calm and simply stood up and removed her father's head from its body. Now it was ready to fight and Oichi knew she needed to be prepared also. Her death was clearly its goal and to be truthful Oichi knew she did not have the skill to kill the monster. Her father was the far better swordsmen and he had feel to the beast. What was she in comparison. Retreat was her only option, however there was something she wanted to do before this battle was over. She needed to remove her father's head from the spear. At this point a proper grave was out of the question for her father, but at the very least she could destroy the head and prevent the monster from using it again or holding its spear. That would be enough for her.
Taking a deep breath Oichi lunged forward and attempted to attack with a horizontal slash. However the moment she moved the beast lunged forward and the true battle began.

He knew her skill level so well. After all, the owner of this body had fathered this one. While she was fast and all around someone who could be dangerous... She was far too weak. One strike and her hand could shatter. One strike at the wrong part, and her arm would just... Snap. What a beautiful idea. Imagine it, her fighting to the most valiant of strikes, but eventually succumbing in the most beautiful of bone breaks. It all made him feel such pleasure. Or well, it would feel pleasure on the thought if it could. Instead it kept on with it's relentless lunge.
It'd toy with her. Every swing he did would miss, be it on purpose or by actual skill from her, but each one came to a close call. Little scratches at most if she was very unlucky. Yet it's burning blaze kept on her features, it almost burned trough her with it's heated gaze of anger. Words echoed from it. Shouts, screams, yells. Everything came out in a loud boom... And it stopped for seconds, and then it came back. It was sudden and loud, screams of the damned in her ears for a while.
Come, come... FIGHT! Destroy, raze, sink into the slumps your father dug out for you, little girl!
HEEEELP MEEEEEEE I WILL HELP YOU BUT PLEASE LET ME OUT LET ME OUT
Come on lass, run! Before they get to you! Little girls should be knitting at home, not fighting something like us!

Oichi focused her mind as the attacks came at her. The words of her master Haschel radiated through her head as she deflected the tip of the spear with her blade. It was not a easy maneuver to pull off, but the long hours of training was finally starting to pay off. Sure from time to time the tip would get through her guard, but the damage was always minimum. Oichi was agile enough to avoid taking a serious blow, or her opponent was holding back enough that she was able to dodge. Oichi was not sure which one was which, but she did know she needed to finish this fight before too long. The more she dodged the heavier her body became and the longer the fight the more powerful the monster seemed to be. During the entire fight she was being raved at by the beast. It was, unsettling, to say the least. What in the holy name was this thing she was fighting.
Oichi had no delusions of defeating this monster in combat. That mindset made itself a reality once the two actually started to clash weapons. The beast was far more skilled than she and its weapon also held a distinct advantage. Oichi however had a goal she wanted to accomplish in this fight. She needed to destroy her father's head. It was not the burial he deserved or a sentiment of respect, but that was all she could possibly do. She was not going to let this monster walk around with her father's head on a pike. With her goal firmly in mind Oichi deflected the tip of the spear as it stabbed forward. And brought down her blade in an attempt to cut the head near the center of the lance. If she succeed she could successfully chop off a good portion of the head. If things went well the rest of the head would also simply fall off thanks to the shock of having the sword slam into the skull.

Splooosh. What a nice sound! The head did get some damage to it, splitting open from the sword strike as old maggots began to crawl out, screeching for their freedom as their old home was being destroyed. What was more horrifying? The fact that the girl was cutting trough the old head of her father, letting the ages old brain juices seep out from the wound and it's ears, watch maggot's run out from it and crawl along onto her sword out of panic... Or the fact that the head itself was shouting out to her?
Parlor tricks with the mind could be so amusing and simple to do, if the being had to be honest. The now partially split head let out a scream that would echo to about twenty meters of distance before stopping dead in it's tracks. Sadly the shade did not have enough power to make the scream radiate any longer, but if it did it totally would have made it a looot louder. Oh well. "I see you enjoy harming your father. What a brave little child." The shade soon returned to it's momentum, slamming the blunt back of it's spear towards her, hoping to hit her somewhere around the chest or with luck even face before then retreating back.
He then stopped a few feet away, holding the spear. Come, little girl! You wish for the head? HAH, you shall simply join it in the rotting collection of souls! COME, GIRL! COME TO ME!
All the while the head just kept screaming and shouting, as if it was in constant pain. A murky green sort of liquid dripped out of it's split, maggots kept swarming out, and it seemed like the head had been just awakened from a long slumber as it kept struggling in front of her eyes.

It was too much. The head, the monster, the screams, and even the entire situation. Things were going from creepy to insane very fast and the ounce of courage Oichi had mustered up to fight the monster was bleeding out of her fast. As Oichi swung her blade to defend herself the pressure of the situation caused her to miss. She missed the back end of the spear and took a blow directly to the chest. The force of the attack made her stumble backwards and knocked the wind out of her chest. If only she had been wearing armor, but that was a regret for another time. At the moment she needed to focus on the beast and recovering her breath.
The maiden coughed for a moment as the beast spoke. It was clear to her that the monster was right. If that attack had been the point of the spear instead of the blunt side she would have been dead. The monster was far beyond her skill level and the fact that she was even fighting it was foolish indeed. Still it was her father's head. However there is a point where honor become stupidity and the current situation seemed to reach that point.
"What are you", asked Oichi trying to stall for time. The maiden needed to fully recover if she wanted to fight, or maybe even run. There did not seem a opportunity to retreat yet and Oichi feared if she turned her back on the beast it would simply stab her in the back. The only thing she really had on it was the fact that it was wearing armor, but from the looks of it that monster was the armor. "Why do you wear the head of my father? What possible purpose does a creature like you serve". Oichi spoke, only to gain her breath. She really did not care about the answer to the questions she asked, but it seemed like a few statements the beast would not bother to answer. It seems to take great pleasure in tormenting the living both mentally and physically.

"Purpose? You ask for my purpose? Little girl, that is like asking why leaves fall. Because... Madness in in the nature of man. Every man falls to it at some point in their life. Someone killed their wife in a fit of drunken madness, some killed their friends in a fit of panic induced madness. And some... Some have not fallen yet. And that is where I come in. For I am many, yet I am also one. I am the madness in everyone's mind, little girl. I am madness personified, and your father? He was the maddest of them all.
Some lies were required. While the corpse he had taken had certainly... Some problems. Otherwise it wouldn't be one handed and headless, and it wouldn't have had it's head skewered onto a pole. Still, he did not sense much madness in the body when he had taken it. A lot of regret and shame, perhaps... But the girl would not have to know. To her, her father was actually an insane man. Someone who left her alone for some delusions of grandeur, when in actuality he had been an insane madman who was a danger to her and everyone else around her.
"He accepted me willingly too. I simply came to this world and he offered himself to me after sacrificing his whole unit... He was the reason why the bandit war over that small sacaen town was lost. Because of him, and his madness when he tried to take me as his own. The body I now hold is the result of that ritual... He failed. And died. All because of his insane antics... He was never your father, you know that? His mind was an interesting place to explore for sure. Apparently he just wanted to sell you for a few coins."
"Perhaps after having a bit of..."

Oichi sat there for a moment staring at the monster. It spoke of her father and of dark things. It told her that he chose to become that. The monster that was standing before her. It also said several other things that were equally disturbing, but Oichi refused to even think about them. This monster, it was madness. It was the madness of all the souls that it absorbed and it raged across the countryside like any other beast. However Oichi was sure that her father was not as it spoke. Sure he may have had some insanity in him. Her own mother would show flights of it in her youth. Closed doors, sleeping with swords, and paranoia toward things that do not even exist. This was the side effects of her profession and her life's experiences. However neither her mother or her father showed anything akin to this creature's filth.
Oichi closed her eyes for a moment to gather her thoughts. As she opened it she looked into the blackness that was the monster and began to speak. "You say you are madness and that you bring madness to others. That means you also want to drive me mad. Since I understand that then I know that anything you say is geared toward turning me mad. You care not for the truth or any sense of honor. You simply want to see the world burn, just like any other beast that runs the pains. Your words will not phase me", spoke Oichi as she charged forward with her sword. The young maiden lowered her body and jumped forward in an attempt to strike the head on the spear. This would be her last attempt. She knew she would have to retreat from this battle. There was no way she was going to defeat this monster. It was too strong, too powerful, and it already claimed her precious father. It would be best if she did not follow suit.
