"Actually I never really had a problem with those kind of men", spoke Bee as she loked at Min. "Probably because the way I dress", she spoke. "Anyway I guess we are going to Bern then", spoke Bee as she looked at her master. The maiden did her best to put on a smile. She was not completely looking forward to the trip, but she did want to see that wall and become stronger with fire magic. That idea alone really set her ablaze. "Ok so when are we leaving", asked Bones. The fire could be seen in her eyes now as Bones began to think of all the wonderful flames she would create. She really did not care much about the bandits, but the true power of fire magic. The amount of heat necessary to set a human on fire was extraordinary. And Bee wanted to know how to call out that much power in a single bolt of fire. She had heard and seen so much.
Touching the straps on her Bag Bee remembered that she had that thing with her. It was a fire tome of unbelievable power. At the time Bee could not access it s power, but she knew in the coming days she would be able to tap into it. "Oh Master", spoke Bee as she reached into her bag and pulled out her advance fire tome. "Can you tell me how powerful this tome is. I bought it from a traveling merchant. He said it had the power of a volcano locked into it, but I figured he was just trying to sell the thing for a good price. I have yet to unlock its power, but I am sure that there is some great magic inside. Do you have any idea what it is", asked Bee as she handed the tome to min.

"Bern indeed. I think you'll like it, Bee. It's a place of adventure and fiery spirits, so we should both fit right in."
The mage laughed, looking at her young study and shaking her head at the young mage's excitement.
"When are we leaving? We can leave whenever you're ready, Bee. Bern isn't gonna run away, but it sure as hell isn't gonna walk to us, so if you want to see it we'd better get moving!"
Then the mage brought out a book, its cover red and its pages covered with long lines, inscriptions and cautions and every manner of interesting options. Taking the book from Bee, Minerva slowly flipped through it, her eyes scanning each page carefully and every rune burning itself into her mind in that strange way writing always did. She never could forget a page of a book. Came in handy for casting, actually, since she could use both hands and didn't have to worry about holding a tome in front of her.
"I'll have to look through it carefully in my mind... But I think... that the vendor wasn't wrong. This looks to be Volcanon, a powerful tome of fire magic. Let me see if I can muster up a quick demonstration."
Raising her hands, she recalled one of the first pages, one of the most basic incantations, and then hurled her hands down. The ground in front of them bubbled, and then a spurt of pure flame erupted in an explosive splash like liquid incineration from the crack in the dirt, scorching the grass and leaving naught but blackened, charred dirt.
"Yes indeed... Volcanon."

OCc: Actually Ryu I think the tome can only deals with fire, if you want Laval you have to combine with earth tome.
"Lava", shouted Bee with surprise as she stared at the power. She had no idea that the tome she had bought was that powerful. If she could master that then she was sure she could defeat Guro with ease. Yes she could see her ultimate goal in sight. All Bee had to do was master the use of fire magic, which was not really easy but muh, and she could finally be free of that man permanently, and this women, Mineverba was the key to it. If she could learn everything she knew Bee was sure victory would be assured.
"Right I am ready to go then", spoke Bee. The girl was as excited as a child in a candy shop. If going to Bern seemed to be the road to power and Bee was up for gaining more power. Not to mention she was also now curious. She had never been to Bern and at the moment she wanted to see everything the nation had to offer. According to the old history books the land itself use to belong to dragons. She wondered if that made it magical in nature or was it just simple dirt like every place else.
The maiden began to walk in the wrong direction as she began to think on things. "Maybe next time I should ask Aeos about that", spoke Bee to herself. She then shook her head as she realized the question might offend him. "I just have to see Bern for myself first", spoke Bee with a determined look.

"Well, then, let us be off..."
As her young study started off in the opposite direction, Minerva reached, out, snagged her collar, and dragged her back to the proper path.
"You might be excited, Bee, but you'd better pay attention... If we get into a dangerous situation, I'm trusting that you'll be ready to protect yourself and back me up. You can't keep your head in the clouds. Make sure you stay alert!"
Minerva laughed as they headed down the road. It was a beautiful day, the birds were out, and they were headed to Bern. A land of fighting and a land that promised wealth for any and all who would scrounge it up. The land held plenty for farmers or traders or artisans, but with all that had happened to Bern, now was the time for the looters and the pillagers to rise up and take control. Aye, one could rob the clothes off of Bern and make a pretty profit from it. Bern would bring wealth, that was for sure. And she and Bee would be there to capitalize on it. Mark her words... She'd emerge from Bern wealthy and in good spirits. There was lots in Bern.
"You'll need to practice with Volcanon if you want to use its power, Bee - so perhaps along the way we can spar and I can give you some tips. You'll improve, I'm sure, on your own - but we can improve much faster if we work together to learn from each other."

"Oh right sorry about that", spoke Bee as she rubbed the back of her head. It was embarrassing to go walking down the wrong path. Bee began to head Minerva's words on being cautious. That seemed to be her greatest flaw. Once she summoned up her flames she would some times get distracted by there brilliance. There was something, how do you put it, motherly about them. She was not sure why, but all fires seem to remind her of her mother. Maybe it was because of the forge and the long days staring into the flames. Maybe it was because she was crazy, that was always a option. However Bee just seem to like fire and staring into fire was a hobby of hers. That hobby however could get her killed. She could not only get herself caught up in one of her own fire attacks, but it could leave her open for a attack by someone else. On this journey of hers she needed to make it a priority to break her bad habit of admiring flames. She could always do that when she was at a tavern or simply practicing magic. She did not need to do it while in battle.
"Right, I usually practice with my fire tome every morning, but I will switch to using the Volcanon instead. I know very little about the tome to be truthful and only recently I have been able to awaken the power within. Though if we work together I am sure I can master it. Though I have to ask Minerva, how many fire mages are out there? Not the exact number of course. I just wanted to know if it was a popular school of study. I wanted to master fire magic to its fullest. There is something empowering about fire."

"How many fire mages? You mean those who strictly practice fire...?
Damn, that's a bit of a hard question. You see, most mages start out with fire, like I did, but branch off and study other magic, so that they can use the elements in conjunction. I hope to soon master the winds, so that I can summon up storms of fire and ice. But to confine oneself solely to fire? I don't know about that. It seems counter-intuitive to me, but if that's what you want to do, I can see you becoming a true master of the inferno. I have never seen one who focused themself and dedicated themself solely to the study of fire... So if you are successful, you'll be the first I know of.
And if you wish to be strong? I can teach you. We will train your body and mind, and you shall grow like fire fed birch-paper and sticks. Your blaze will rise up and consume all, Bee. You'll be great - I can see that - and I'm just happy I will have helped you along the path to greatness."
The mage smiled, patting her apprentice on the back as they walked, and then idly summoned up a ball of ice, holding the crystalline sphere in her hands and then causing it to melt into a splash of water that darkened the ground behind them as they walked on.
"So what do you want to learn first? Offense or defense? Both are necessary, but it's up to you which you want to learn first."

Lots of flattery and nice words, but Bee was more in tune to what she could learn. Though the subject about magic and the way people used it interested her. Bee wanted nothing more than to simply use fire magic and burn her opponents into submission. However she had to think about the future. There was a reason that people augmented there flames with other magic. Bee had thought about one day getting a wind tome to super charge her flames or possibly invest in a earth tome to give her attacks more substance. However that would dilute the purity of her fire. She was not sure if she wanted to go that route. At the time Bee would just have to think about it. She wanted to defeat Guro that is for sure, but which one was more important. The defeat of the druid or her own value on magic and how it should be used.
"Offense", spoke Bee as she looked at Minerva. Her answer was quick and without hesitation. "From what I understand about combat a powerful offense is the greatest defense. Not to mention that I plan to use fire magic as a bonus. Fire magic is destructive and powerful, but it has little to no force behind it. A blast of fire can't knock a man down. There is little defense when using fire. So the more fearsome my offense is the greater chance that that I will take down my opponents before they strike me down. So from both a personal and logical point of view I would rather start off with the offensive portion get good at killing my opponents and then focus on defense later when I have the luxury of it."

"Offense! Haha! You think like me. Well, then we'll be great together. Plus icy magic makes for good defense, so I think we're set even if we go full force offense. Hey, you know... Since you have Volcanon and I have Fimbulvetr, what if we swap books when we rest to take breaks? I'd love to study up on Volcanon - I've never gotten a good chance to crack one open. And it won't take me long to know everything in the book... Although using it is a different story.
See, Bee, I have a weird memory. If I look at a book, I can see each page in my mind, just in a split second. I can call them all back up. I know every word of my fire tome and every glyph in Fimbulvetr. It's such an unusual ability, but it doesn't do too much for me... besides make it lighter on me when I'm traveling. I can just flip through a novel and then leave it at home. Hah!"
The mage chuckled, reaching into her bag and withdrawing her light blue Fimbulvetr.
"Actually, if you don't mind, let's swap now and just peruse as we walk. When we reach a good clearing, if you want, we could take a break and practice, both with Volcanon. Learning together, Bee. It'd be a great experience for both of us, and you'd be able to start training your offensive mind. We'll get you to be top-class by Bern, I guarantee. Hah!"
The mage smiled once more. She liked her spunky apprentice. Indeed.
OOC: Didn't know your plans for the thread; if you want to train that's cool, or if you wanted to make a support for it I'm game with that as well.

"Umm sure", spoke Bee as she talked about using her fire tome. Bee never really like the idea of using other types of magic. It was not like she as married to the fire spells, thought she might as well been, but she did not care for any of the other tomes. Fire was the power that called out to her. She was not really interested in using water magic or lighting for that matter. Fire was the only element that truly song to her. "I really don't care for water magic to be truthful", spoke Bee as she rubbed the back of her head. "You can use Volcanon thought, I don't really mind. I am not that good with it to begin with. However if I can avoid it I really don't want to use the ice spells. It is not really my element, but if I need to study them to become a better mage, well that is different. I will learn what I can", spoke Bee.
Now that the thought of other magics was in Bee's mind the maiden began to think about it. Could she possibly fuse different types of magic. It was something that really did not come up when she was learning from Guro, which was no surprise really. If Bee some how combined two elements together into one spell she wondered what she could make. Wind and fire would create some fearsome flames. Earth and fire could create maga which was pretty much fire with weight. Fire and lightning, well she did not see anything fuitful coming from that. The same with fire and ice, but if you used the water side of the tome then you could make steam. Steam sounded useful, but it was nothing compared to the beauty and power of true flames. Bee shook her head throwing the thought out of mind. She was no where near powerful to reach that level of magic. Maybe with two mages working together they could pull off such feats, but alone, not going to happen, well not for a long while.
"Right lets get into that training. I want to go ahead and learn", spoke the maiden.

"All right, then... If you say so!"
Minerva stepped back, raising her arms to battle stance, and staring Bee down with a look of pure determination and concentration. She'd make this girl a damn good mage by the time they reached Bern. She wouldn't be any sort of fantastic, amazing wonder sage, but she'd hold her own like a champ, even if she only used fire magic.
"I'm going to defend every spell you throw at me. Your charge is to use as much creativity as you can to break my defenses. Power, speed, angles... Exploit all of them and hit me with something. I'm just going to warn you, you'll need a bit more than just throwing fireballs if you want to tag me. Remember my magic - fire and ice. I can extinguish any slow-moving, easily dodged fireballs with a squirt of water, or block them with a shield of ice. You need to make me think, make me open up, force me to make choices. Dodge, duck, retreat - make me give up ground! Force me back! Shatter my defenses! Come on, Bee, show me what you've got!"
Minerva laughed and whirled her hands, flicking small embers into the sky and staring Bee down. She'd no doubt open with what she thought was a clever fake, and try to go around. Or maybe a wide attack. Either way, she knew her pupil wasn't thinking in the right manner. She had to look carefully, had to examine and find the chinks in the armor. Simply having heart wouldn't do it, sadly.

So Min wanted to see what Bee could do. She was no brigand, so simply shooting fire at her won't work. Mage on mage battle was something Bee was not familiar with. Everyone else she fought was not a mage and looking at Minerva's tome Bee was at a elemental disadvantage. Even though the odds looked completely stacked in Min's favor Bee was excited from the challenge. This was the kind of battle she needed. When she face Guro in the end she would be fighting with these same restrictions. Elder Magic had the advantage over fire and her opponent was far more skilled than she was. This fight was almost the same fight, just placed on a much lower scale.
I have a plan, thought Bee as she started to put things together in her mind. She had the volcanon tome, but she was new at using it. Its power was impressive, but, well she doubted she could defeat Min with it. However if she used it as a sneak attack she might be able to catch her off guard and get a lick in. The goal of the mission was get a blow on Min right. She would need to hit Min in a place she would not expect.
Starting off the challenged Bee ran toward Min's right hand side. She touched her fire tome which was hanging off her side to make a connection. Stopping Bee punched to create a fireball in front of her fist. It was a motion she had created recently to help her in controlling the magic. The fire spirits swirled into a ball of flames and lunched forward toward he target. She did not however expect for the blow to work. This attack was just to gauge Min's reaction time with her water defense or her movement speed. Any one of them would aid in finding a opening.

The pupil began to think, standing still and stewing before finally beginning to act. In that time, Minerva had already formulated her first response - a scare tactic. It would only work if Bee sent a fireball towards her, a single fireball, but if the conditions were wrong she could always duck. This was just for show, to intimidate the younger mage and to inspire her with a demonstration of what she'd one day be able to do.
So when the fireball ripped from Bee's fist and began hurtling towards her, Minerva broke into a wide grin. Yes! Exactly what she had hoped for.
The mage stood her ground, and as the fireball neared, Minerva summoned her own firepower, concentrating and focusing her energy into her fists, which began to glow with blue flame. As the fireball slammed into them, she forced her own power outward and grabbed onto the fireball, slowing its momentum as she swiveled three hundred and sixty degrees before hurling the 'same' fireball back at Bee. In truth, she'd absorbed the impact, wincing when Bee couldn't see her face, and then made up for the fireball's power with more from herself. But to the younger mage, it would look like she had grabbed the attack, spun, and sent it hurtling back at her with a new coating of blue fire. A deadly return to sender.
"Catch!"
Now, enough play. She had to watch carefully. This was a serious fight now, and she couldn't afford to eat any more attacks.

"What the", spoke Bee as it seem that Min caught her fire ball. It was amazing, something she had never seen before. It was also daunting. If Minerva could catch her fire balls that meant that her entire stratagem would not work. Bee wanted to get her use to her small fire bolts and then try to burn her feet from below when she witched over tomes. However with Minerva able to simply grab fire, which made no sense to Bee but it just happened, that means she was going to have to come up with a new plan. Minerva would probably not even pay attention to the small bits. She would see her cleaver change before it even happens.
"Looks like I have to pull out the big guns", spoke Bee as she pulled out her Volcannon tome. She had not used it as much as she wanted too, but Bee knew how to use it. Well she thought she knew how to use it. Min seemed so much better than her. Taking a strong step forward Bee pulled upon the power of her new tome. She had not yer set spells into simple motions yet so Bee was going to have to keep the tome in her hand. Drawing from its power Bee extended her hand forward calling upon a stream of fire.
The fire spirits began to dance as Bee's had jutted forward. The command came for them to fly forward and fly they did. Like a river flowing from a rock flames began to pour from the area in front of Bee's hand. The mage had set the spell to try and overwhelm Minerva's defenses with pure volume of flames alone. Sure Minevera had water, but if she cranked up the heat she could evaporate it before she countered her, or at least she thought. She did not know much about water magic, but she did know that it did not create water. That meant she got it from somewhere. The only places would be a nearby water source, which they where not near, or the air itself. So if she could create more flames than air then she could win. She could do it.

"Well, that's a lot of fire, huh..."
She could douse the flames with water - but that would take a lot of concentration. She could shield herself with ice - but that would take lots of power. So the most efficient option would be simply...
The mage spun on her heels, retreating just out of Bee's range, and stood at the ready. The gushing jets of flame were impressive - but could she keep them up and increase their range? They had a wide spread, but not a lot of range. And to send them farther would require more power... How far would she be able to send them before she got too drained?
All those questions could be answered simply by seeing how Bee responded to this change in the 'arena' of battle. If she advanced, Minerva would retreat. If she increased her range, Minerva would retreat. She'd keep Bee struggling to catch her, and wear the young mage down... And then... she'd strike!
The woman smiled, her face lighting up as ideas flashed through her mind. She could do one of many things to surprise Bee and retaliate, but she figured that she'd lock in her decision when it came to that point. Until then...
"Hahaha! Come on, Bee! You didn't think I'd stand still and let you roast me with your flamethrower, did you? Why don't you come and get me? I'm just a little bit farther... Come on, you can reach me if you just fire a little farther!"
