"Shameful", whimpered Bee as she stared into a batch of molten hot metal. Pride and Joy, those were the two things that Bee had in abundance. Now they were gone, stripped from her by her old enemy. Twice she had been assaulted by the forces of Draco Guro. The first time was in Ilia and the second was when she left in Sacae. In there first assault they had claimed a dear friend and in there second they had pushed her to the brink. In fear Bee had taken ship and moved to sail around the continent. Her destination was Vinland, a place she knew his influence could not reach. On the way to the new world she was attacked once again by another one of Draco agents, but she escaped that time as well with her life. Now Bee was forced to hide out in Vinland. She had to hide, at least till she was strong enough to crush those who were after her.
So here Bee was, at the end of the world. Fire was now her blood and steel her body. Day after day she worked the forges creating blades for those who explored the world. Bee had placed her fire magic to good work smelting iron ore and forging weapons of steel. However ever so often someone would mix tin and cooper together to forge. The green flames would send a cold chill down her spine. Her body would remember the fight with Black Dog. It would remember the loss of Elementious and the closeness of death.
"Good job Bee", spoke a burly man as he walked into the forge. The maiden pulled a lever and a counter weight was released. The smelted slag was released from the smelter. Its blazing content rand down a metal troth and out of the way. With tow large tongs the man reached into the smelter and pulled out the real prize of the day, the iron bar that sat at the bottom. "We will get to work turning this into a blade. You go get some food and rest. We will see you tomorrow morning bright and early."
"Alright", spoke Bee as she jumped down from her work station and left out the door. The sign above the place read Old Bob's iron works. It was a decent shop with a decent man running it. However he seemed more interested in using Bee to smelt iron than to have her actually forge. If Bee had to guess it was probably due to her gender. The man was a proud member of the Lycian League of smiths so he knew about Bee's certification when she presented it to him. However sexisum was stronger, or greed. Bee had to add that one into the mix. She could smelt metal five times as faster and far cheaper than the normal method. Still though he payed well, which was one of the reason Bee still worked for him.
"Let see if I can find some good pie", spoke the maiden as she began to skip down the street. Once she was away from the forge and its green flames her personal joy had returned. That and before she left she saw a few sparks from them forging the blade. Sparks always reminded her of her mother. The sight alone could bring her out of any slump.

Neamhain wasn't kidding! This place is huge! And SO DIVERSE! LOOK AT ALL THE TENTS AND TAPESTRY! Aeos couldn't help but gawk at all the things that were on display. Is this silk? Mom would love this silk! He mentally shouted as he passed by a tent that sold cloth. This place reminded him a whole lot of Khan Yunis. Vendors that lined the streets selling all sorts of bits and bobs. Cloth with intricate designs. Weapons of all variety. Some armor. Both light and heavy. There was even a pub. A place where taguel and human from all walks of life could sit and eat if they had the coin. And well, Aeos did have the coin. He stayed home in Khan Yunis after the shark hunting season and worked to fill his coin pouch. The trip back to Vinland wasn't cheap and he knew he needed extra gold if he wanted to eventually make a home here. Neamhain said that Dawsbury was probably the best place for it as they had similar laws regarding buying things.
He hoped to scout the city and find a patch of land to make a home. Or possibly buy one that was vacant. He wasn't quite sure which. The city if he could call it that seemed to be well fortified at least from what he could see. There were so many taguel and human eyes and ears that could raise the alarm should something wicked come. He was able to save some more coin by roughing it out in the wilds so he would not need to pay for an inn.
He honestly had no idea where to start when it came to looking for a place to buy a home. There weren't exactly signs that said "land lords looking for tenants here". So, he would go and check out the local pub. Perhaps, the keeper of the pub knew of someone whom was selling a home or the land to make a home.

"You know what lets eat out tonight", spoke Bee to herself as she made her way to her favorite Bar. It had been a while since she had showed up there. The last time she went she ended up having to leave. There was this one guy that would not leave her alone. Probably a drunk if she had to guess now. He kept spitting out complement after complement and kept getting closer to her. Eventually Bee had enough and threaten to burn his face off. The bar keep did not throw her out, but she left on her own. She actually liked the guy so she did not want to burn down his shop, nor did she want to miss out on a days work in the iron works. Even if burning his face off counted as self defense Bee would still spend a day inside of a prison cell.
"It is the hair", grumbled Bee as she began to touch her long pink locks. It had been a long time since she first had escaped Guro's control. Since then she has not cut her hair. Now however it had grown quite long. The maiden had plans to cut it back down to size, but everyone at her job begged her not to. The boss even went so far as to threaten to fire her if she did. That guy, she swears he is a sociopath. Some of the younger guys in the iron works swore that Bob never slept and that he spent every waking moment trying to control there lives. One guy named Jimmy took it even further. He thinks that the way the shop is set up that Bob had placed certain people near each other in order to make them get along and again affection toward each other. He called it the Support system, Bee thought he was just crazy and went back to her work. Thought she did have to admit that some of his placements were a bit fishy. Like the time he made Bee smelt iron next to his son Bob Jr. Jr had no experience in metal work and was better at sales, but for some reason he made Bee work her magic right next to his office.
"Bump it" cried the maiden as she began to shake her head. Her long locks waving all around. "Work is over. Leave the iron where the iron lay. I need to focus on what truly matters." With that Bee walked into the Crusty Clam, a old sailors Bar. Despite the name and the reputation of the people that often visited the place it was actually very clean. The floors were often scrubbed and messes cleaned up. The owner of the place was a bit on the crazy side. He liked to keep things as clean as possible. One spilled drink and he was having a fit. The cleanliness was one of the reason Bee fancied the place.
Oh miss Hives, spoke the barkeep as he noticed her come in. the maiden gave him a smile and walked right up to the bar.
"Hey can I get my usual order, oh can you throw in some apple pie as well. I am a good mood for sweets."
"Do you want some milk with that. We just got a batch in this morning and thanks to the ..."
No thank you Barns, do I look like a milk drinker to you?"
The man stopped and looked Bee up and down. "Yea, you kind of do", he chuckled.
"Pashaw, guess who not getting a tip", lashed back Bee as she walked away from the bar and found herself a seat

Do the taguel even have the concept of owning property? He wondered. Neamhain did say this place was more or less like a traditional city. With some form of capitalism. Right? At least that's what he gathered with all the trade and commerce going on. He could always spend his life out in the wild but something about that notion did not sit right with him. He wanted a place of his own. His own proper home. A place where he could invite his friends. His parents. Something. He kept walking though the city looking at all the people. All sorts of people. Mother's with children, taguel with humans, taguel with other taguel. It was so nice to see such a community come together like this.
His feet found the local pub and he walked in. There was a sign cautioning customers not to track mud inside. So he quoted his shoes as best he could on the nearby mat. The pub sorta looked like every other pub he'd been to in his life. A nice fire. A few drunken patrons. And workers of all kinds helping to fill orders. The scents were also familiar to him. Meats roasting away in an oven. Stock being prepared. He glanced around looking for a place to sit. He spotted an empty bar stool next to a link haired lass. He shrugged and took the seat. The lass made an off hand comment about milk. And the voice felt very familiar to him. Her scent was also familiar although it smelled like it was covered with soot and ash. And then it hit him, who it was, this was Bee!
"If the lady doesn't want the milk I'll take a glass." He spoke to the bar man. Then turned in his seat so he was facing her.
"Hiya Bee!" He had a smile on his face.

"Aeos", shouted Bee as she jumped out of her chair. The maiden's hair bounced around as she moved forward with the speed of tempus. With a smile on her face and arms held wide she grabbed around Aeos's waist. It had been to long since she had seen her dragon friend. The last time they meet it was in the cold of Ilia. Back then she had hugged him as well, but now she was much bigger. Her hair was far longer than before and she had grown a full three inches since then. She had also filled out in all the right places. As a result however all of Bee's old clothing had to be scrapped. She was now wearing a completely new wardrobe of outfits. The one she favored the most was her dark purple tank top with a shoulder guard. A pair of black slacks along side a pair of dark brown steel toe boots. Her spell tomes were kept on her side in a specially designed book belt, and her hair was now flowing freely down the sides of her head. After her run in with Draco's men she stopped keeping it in a messy clump like she use to. In order to throw them off she had to start to comb her hair. Ironically enough it worked out quite well.
"Where have you been? Why are you in Vinland? How have you been? Hey did you see the world pool on the way here?" The maiden barraged her long lost friend with a sea of questions. It had been to long for her. Aeos was like a brother to her. A bigger, more scaly, and not a fire dragon brother. That was one thing she was disappointed in. Aeos should have been a fire dragon if he was going to be a dragon. However she would have to stick twith him being a wind dragon.

Aeos hugged Bee back. He was genuinely glad to see her again. He was worried for a while after he left her in Ilia. After he had transformed out of necessity and revealed his great secret to her. She was smaller then. She's taller now. And her hair grew almost as much as she did. And her clothes changed too. He couldn't get over how much she physically changed. She was no longer the little Bee with the spunky hair. But was now Bee, the young lady. But, then she bombarded him with a series of questions, which made her sound a whole lot like the little Bee he remembered. Human growth is fascinating.Answer her questions! His other half quipped. It too was happy to see her. As she was one of the first humans he had ever met when he first started his journey outside of Nabata. Bee held a special place in his heart. Right, next to his parents, Euphemious, Gar, Locke, Nayru, and Neamhain. Huh.. that's a lot of people in our chest.
Aeos gently pried Bee off of him.
"In order, I've been almost everywhere. I'm here in Vinland looking for a place to live. I've been great. And I did not see a pool... if there was I would have jumped in it." He took a moment to think. Something told him she didn't mean a literal pool of water.
"This is actually like.. my third or fourth trip here to Vinland." He took a moment to count on his fingers.
"I am in love with the island. Everything feels so natural. It's such a nice change from Elibe.. and Nabata. Don't get me wrong I love Nabata. But, this place is too nice for me also not to love. So I'm trying to find a way to live here. But, enough about me. How about you?" He took a moment to breathe.
"You've grown up so much since I last saw you. And you hair, it's so neat and tidy. You look great!" He was kinda a bit too excited to say that last part. Aeos was a fan of long hair. He had long hair. His mom had long hair. His dad had long hair too once. It was something that ran in the family. Grooming and hair styling was something the family could bond over.

"Ugg", Bee groaned as Aeos began to talk about her hair. She hated it. She liked it better when it was short. The only reason it was as long as it was was due to her being both busy and her being hunted. Now she had to maintain it and that alone was a pain in the bottom. "Personally I prefer my hair short, or standing straight up. However because of Draco Guro and his stupid henchmen I have been forced to change my style, unless I want those idiots at my door step", she spoke. Great now that fool had ruined her conversation with Aeos. Bee was starting to get fed up with all of this. She had half a mind to return to the continent and go hunt that old Druid down. However at the moment she was not strong enough, so she had to wait. "Also growing older sucks", wined Bee as she began to think back to all the clothing she had to throw away. "Do you know how many outfits I had to get rid of. I loved my white priest top shirt and my old pair of slacks. Bah, now I am stuck with muscle shirts and boots."
"Well enough about me", spoke Bee as she looked at Aeos. It was the first time those words had ever come out of her mouth. However she wanted to change the subject. She had been experiencing changes of late and as a result life has become a lot more difficult than it use to be. You think getting older would make life easier when your on the road. Nope, it just added a entirely new wave of problems.
"You said you were looking to build a yourself a home around here right. You are probably going to need some nails and stuff. You do know that I have become a official blacksmith right. I can forge up any of those objects if you have some iron. I can even smelt it to", spoke Bee as she tapped her fire tome.
There were a few more questions Bee wanted to ask Aeos. However she had to leave them for a more private time. She wondered how the new island treated dragons. Was it still a taboo or with all the beast people running around it was normal. She would have to ask him once she got a chance. Still the idea of Aeos dragon form brood a bit of disappointment. If only he breath fire.

The barkeep placed the glass of milk down on the bar table. Aeos didn't grab it to take a drink just yet. He was smiling at Bee's comment about the hair. Apparently, she did not appreciate growing up. To Aeos, Bee had it good. The transition between child to adult was a tricky time. An awkward phase of growth, voice changes, and body hair.
"Consider yourself lucky Bee. You do not want to get 'stuck' in that growing up phase. Yours will be relatively short compared to mine." He grabbed the glass of milk and took a sip. He then put the glass down.
"I was stuck with a squeaky voice change for.." He had to stop himself. His transition to adulthood was so slow compared to humans. He distinctly recalled looking like a twelve-year-old boy for well over fifty years. Before his growth spurt happened and then he looked like a fourteen-year-old boy for another hundred years after that.
"Well.. it was for a long time." He sighed. He couldn't really say exactly how long he was stuck in the transitional hell that was puberty.
"My growth spurt was delayed too. Mother kept me in my child clothes for what felt like an eternity. Do you know what's that's like, being small while the people around you grow taller and stronger? It is awful!" His smiling and good mood stopped though at the mention of a Draco Guro and henchmen. Did someone attack Bee?
"Bee, when you say Draco Guro and henchmen what do you mean? Do I need to help you with something? My plans for a home can be put on hold if you need me for something." Do we have to beat someone up? His dragon side was always in the mood to beat something up.

"Actually I do know what it is like to be small while everyone else around you is tall and is growing taller", spoke Bee as she looked at Aeos with green envy. Aeos was so tall to her. He was much taller than her. It was not fair. Why could she not be the tall one. Aeos got to live for thousands of years, she would only get a hundred if she was lucky. Bee continued to complain in her mind till she remembered the cost of replacing her entire wardrobe. Then the maiden quieted down a bit. Getting taller would mean new clothing and Bee did not have the funds for that. Still it must have sucked being short for hundreds of years constantly being treated like a baby. Bee could understand that.
"Well look on the bright side Aeos. At the very least you did not have to buy your clothing. When I started to grow taller and bigger all of my clothing no longer fit. I had to go out and buy new ones. Do you know how much money it cost to buy a white dress with eturian embroidery. I will give you a hint, it is the same price for a steel katana. To make it worse however after I pay the money for it I out grow that piece of clothing again in three mounts. This is pure chaos!"
As Bee groaned Aeos seemed to have picked up on what she said earlier. He brought up Draco Guro and Bee's heart turned to ice. She did not mean to bring Aeos into this. Draco was her problem, and not Aeos. She loved the dragon like a brother and because of that there was no way she could tell him about Draco. Aeos was a dragon and he was powerful because of it. However Draco Guro was a devil. There is a clear difference between them. Draco had not only power, but influence as well. He could destroy Aeos at any time he wanted, Bee was certain of that. Draco probably already had a plan laid out for a dragon. As a matter of facts go Bee was sure that Draco probably was hoping that he was attacked by a dragon. There would be no other way for him to experiment with them. When she last remembered Draco he was obsessed with dragons and there near immortality. He wanted to know everything there was to know about them.
"Draco, oh right", spoke Bee as she attempted to play it off. "You don't have to worry about that guy. I already took him out. Now I just have worry about a few of his old followers showing up. You know that whole you killed my master kind of thing. Anyway Aeos you should probably be asking around about land and junk. Never lose sight of your goal", spoke the maiden as she walked past the dragon and up to the barkeep.
"Excuse me sir, but have you heard anything about anyone trying to buy or sell land. A friend of mine is trying to move into the area, but he is having difficulty trying to find a place to settle. I am sure there are a few customers who have talked about or whispered about land.:

“I’d rather buy my own clothes then have to constantly keep going home to have them repaired. I mean I know how to mend my own clothes.. but I am not a seamstress.” He loved his mom. But, he knew she could be a bit smothering. She was her only son who managed to survive up to adult hood. Aeos was aware that he had other siblings that came before him but they had passed away during childhood. An event neither of his folks ever fully recovered from. He imagined that the death of any child would be something no parent could ever recover from regardless of they be taguel, dragon, or human.
“Why not buy clothes a size bigger so that you grow into them? Thus lasting a little longer then getting something fitted right from the get go.” He shrugged. He didn’t have to deal much with Bee’s clothing issue. His growth was painfully slow. When he did finally have his first growth spurt he was still the same size after that for several decades. Although, now he was starting to grow differently. Since, he had been on Vinland. Living off the land and traversing through the wilderness he was getting stronger. His muscles were getting more defined and pressing themselves against both of his sleeves. His clothes were tighter but still tolerable and not yet breaking.
He frowned slightly. He hadn’t quite bought Bee’s story about Draco. There was something in her voice and something in his gut that told him otherwise. Some sort of protective instinct. But, he wouldn’t press the issue. At least not right now. Now, he was focused on the issue of land.. and food. He realized he had never placed an order for an actual meal.
“It doesn’t have to be land only. Any apartments or buildings or tents to rent are also acceptable. And.. may I have the special please?”

It seemed like Aeos was not buying her story about taking down Draco Guro. Shoot she would not buy that story. It was rushed and not well prepared. Not to mention Bee was not the best liar. She easily cracked under pressure. This was one of the main reason why she was happy when he did not push the issue any more than necessary. Bee did not want Aeos involved with anything Draco Guro. Even if it meant she did not receive extra help. As a matter of facts go she preferred it that way. Defeating Draco Guro was her quest, not Aeos.
"Alright lets focus on that then", shouted Bee as she tried her best to dispel any negative thoughts. "Currently I am living in a shark near the outskirts of the eastern half of town. It is not anything grand or really nice. However it is a roof over your head and a cheap price. Currently I am renting, but you are looking to own right. You could go over there and ask around for a price."
As Bee began to talk to Aeos about housing the maiden began to think back toward her own humble abode. It may have been a shack, but the shack reminded her of her home back in Nabata. she could practically hear her mother working her forge. It was a happy moment and that moment hung in every room. Just walking into her rented house Bee could feel a since of relief.
"Personally I suggest that you don't move to that area", spoke the Barkeep as he cleaned a mug. "The Eastern side of town is falling into decay and in certain areas it has become lawless. Not the best place to live", spoke the barkeep as he laid the mug down on the table.

Aeos sat there. Content to listen to the woman speak about her home. Aeos had a small fondness for shacks. He had spent a good chunk of his life in one. His mind briefly flashed with the memory of his temporary Nabatatan home. It wasn't the most glamorous place to live. But, it was home. His parents made it home. He could almost smell the spicy meat and flat bread in the air. But, then it was back to reality. The maiden had been talking about the eastern end of town. Apparently, it had fallen into disrepair and crime was common. It sounded exactly like the area of his Nabatan home. The slums weren't an easy place to live but they gave the young dragon an appreciation for the possessions he did have.
"The eastern end of town.. sounds an awful lot like home. Not the best place to live.. but it's still liveable." He mused out loud.
"But, if it's within my budget.. Hmm.." He kept talking.
"I will keep the idea open for now. There is still more to this island to explore and I've been told there is another city. Maybe I will find a better opportunity there. But, thank you, ma'am for the suggestion." He nodded softly. He then turned to face Bee again. A place to live was one of many goals. He needed to test how much he and his dragon self-had grown. He needed to learn how to better defend himself against magic.
"Hey Bee. I've got a suggestion. I want to see how much you've grown with your magic. And.. well I need to see how well I've grown with mine. How about some training after our meals?"

Well this was going well, thought Bee as Aeos processed the information. To be honest she was happy to see the dragon. Bee had not seen Aeos in quite some time and Vinland, despite its exotic nature, was not a place Bee would normally visit. to be honest if she was not being chased around on the mainland she would never had come here. Once she was here Bee felt a bit alone. Sure she did not have any real family on the mainland, but she had made some close friends and people she considered closer than kin. One such person was her master who was still back in Lycia. She was so far away from him and everything she had come to know as normal. Now she was in Vinland a place of extreme danger and weird people. Now however Bee had somebody here she was close to. A friend she could count on. Yes Bee liked the idea of Aeos living here. Not only would she know where to find him at any given time, but she would also have a place to visit often.
it was then that Bee had heard Aeos comment about testing her magic. What a fool Aeos was. Bee was the greatest pyromancer in the world, self-proclaimed of course. The maiden however liked the idea. She always wanted to see what would happen if her fire magic had classed with Aeos wind powers. Sure Aeos was probably far stronger in his full form, but when he was not transformed, now that would be interesting.
"Very Well Aeos", shouted Bee as a smiled rushed to her face! A wide grin crossed her lips as she began to envision the entire engagement. "Don't think for a second that I am going to hold back on you Aeos. We will see which one of us has the greatest magic. Your wind vs my flames! I will show you the might of the worlds greatest Pyromancer!"

"Sweet!" Aeos was happy. He was finally going to test his mettle against magic. Now he had some run ins with mages in the past. But, most hadn't actually been able to hit him with it. Locke being a manakete hit him with a breath attack, once, but he was able to defend himself. And Nayru's lightning magic hurt. It hurt a lot. And he wasn't fond of pain, all the more reason to find a way to better defend or tolerate magic.
"I've been training hard. I actually can't wait to show you." He grinned. He had grown so much since he first left Nabata. He had learned he could do things with his wind magic that helped to defend himself. Helped to defend others. Aeos glanced at the waitress. There were two plates of food coming. Both with the same meal. The local specialty. A various assortment of meats, potatoes, and local berries. Both plates were presented to the two patrons.
"We might need to be careful Bee. Wind and fire tend to make wildfires. Last thing we'd want to do is accidentally burn the island to the ground. Let us see if there is a place for us to fight safely. Probably someplace not surrounded by flammable greenery. I think there was a small pit.. like arena thing coated in rocks and sand the taguel use for fighting. Maybe we can try there." He suggested. Then dug into his meal. He had forgotten how hungry he was. He had travelled through the wilderness to get here.

Wildfire, thought Bee as Aeos mentioned the flames. The maiden's mind jumped to a image of a great blaze reaching all the way up to the heavens. The idea of such a fire was thrilling, but completely impractical. Aeos might have not known it, but the forest had its own way of stopping fires. Even if a portion of it blazed there end result would usually end with the flames being put out by rain created from the steam of the water and burning plants or some of the more fire resistant trees. However Bee did see the wisdom in what Aeos was saying. Fire and wind was like saying oil and fire. It was a combination for greatness. However one women's greatness is another women's horrible death. Bee had learned to keep her own hobbies at bay.
"Yeah I guess", spoke Bee as she took a bite into the meat. "It would be beautiful fire though." Her comment turned the heads of a few long ear patrons, but eventually they moved back to there own meals. "That arena place sounded good, but you could always go near the sea. The beach is a good place to avoid setting things on fire. Even if some fire shoots off and sets something on fire you could always use your wind magic to push some waves up and put it out. Of course that is all speculation. I have never dealt with Wind Magic so I could not tell you how it would react with the sea water. I don't see a reason why it would not work though."
The maiden really began to dig into the food as she began to think up ways she was going to handle this fight. Aeos was a dragon so she was sure he could handle anything she threw at him. However she was going to need to think on her own defense rather than Aeos. Wind magic was known for its cutting power and fearsome speed. She was going to have to counter that with her flames. She had a few moves in mind, but she would have to test them on the battlefield.
