Aw crap, seems like I hit her lungs... That wasn't supposed to happen. Let's just pray I didn't the axilary artery. Doing major surgery in the middle of the street would pretty much be impossible right now. She seemed to still want to go... She definitely had a lot of courage to want to keep fighting... or maybe too much stupidity.
She tried to cut him again. Sadly for him, he was too close to her to be able to block properly, his gamble by getting closer definitely had some risks. He felt the sharp blade cut into the outside of his left upper arm. Deciding to let his dagger go since it was already well stuck in her armor, he felt he couldn't give up now. Anyways, backing up would only give her an opportunity to strike again. Now that his left arm had been hurt, he decided that he might as well continue on. Quickly jerkin the blade out of his arm, he remembered another trick Melia had thought him recently. "And then you coil your arm around his, almost like a snake, which is why we call it the snake strike. With it, you stop his entire arm from moving. No chance he can get a good swing only with his wrist. However, move quickly as you won't be able to hold him in an armlock for too long. Now that his arm was twisted around hers, he grabbed onto her shoulder with the same arm, completing the armlock. Bringing his other hand to hold onto her shoulder, he was now able to put his entire strength to pull her down. His goal now was to try and lower her head enough to come in with his knee and knock her out. The less she moves, the more chances that knife won't do too much damage. Gotta end this quickly.

For Rhia, the pain around her lung was getting to be too much, and the armlock Sigma had put her in certainly wasn't helping things for her. Though she had made contact with his arm, it clearly wasn't enough to stop him all that much. You wily little weasel.. Dammit.. I can't keep this up much longer... He's got me outmatched. Damn... That would have been a nice paycheck too... Sighing heavily, Rhia opened her hand, causing her sword to drop at her feet, clanking loudly upon contact with the ground below.
"Alright, you've won, you've won! I clearly went in waaay over my head when I took this contract. Ugh, now I've just been humiliated... Well, what are you gonna do with me, huh? Surely you aren't just gonna let me go or something. I bet you're gonna drag me off to some criminal base and lock me up, maybe even kill me... I'm at your mercy now, oh mighty Sigma, Thrower of Bread..." The last part of her statement was definitely mixed with some venom, as Rhia still hadn't gotten over that first distraction of his, and her made up title was said in an unmistakable sarcastic tone.
Why did I have to pick the one contract that involves a thief who knows martial arts, and is also skilled in the ways of dueling at least enough to be competent at it? Not to mention he's really good arts improvising. Sigh, guess I'm just waiting for him to dish out whatever he deems as proper justice now...

As he was about to bring his knee in her face to end her rightly, she seemed to give up as she dropped her sword to the ground. Ugh, she's be better off if I knocked her out, that knife is in a seriously bad spot. If I let her go who knows what'll happen. Smirking a bit when she said "Thrower of Bread", he replied to her:
"Oh nothing like that, I'm not the kind of person which has an evil lair or anything. Though you are right about one thing..."
He paused.
'I'm not letting you go anywhere with that wound" Suddenly, he lowered her head and brougth his knee upwards to knock her out. Even though she couldn't hear, he still said out loud: "Sorry, still not sure if you won't try to pull any funny business..." Lifing her up, he had a bit of trouble to bring her back near her horse. The beast was wary at first but Sigma's experience with horses helped calm him down. Taking out an elixir, he quickly healed the horse's wound, apologizing to it profusely. At least, there was no scar to speak of thanks to the potency of the salve. Putting the woman on her mount while still unconscious, he started leading the horse towards an almost empty side of town, where he and Melia had rented out a small house. Much better than an inn when you're working in shady activities. He knew Melia would be able to fix her up. He started to move quickly, seing that she was still losing blood.
[...]
He had just arrived in front of the house. The cavalier was still out cold... Yeah she's gonna have a pretty bad bruise on her forehead... Melia had seen him arrive from far away, apparently she was doing some maintenance on her equipment what with the grease stains on her clothes.
"And what did Little Grey drag back? Don't tell me you drugged her..."
"Oh hardy har! Melia, I really need your medical skills right now." he pulled her body off the horse to show the knife still in her chest. It was obvious why he wasn't in the mood to joke around.
"Oh crap, alright I see... Take her up in my room, I'll go get my equipment. Oh also I'll need your elixir, you wounded her, it's your stuff i'm gonna use.
And here I thought I was actually going to use that thing on me...
[...]
Sigma was waiting around outside of the room, Melia had made it very clear in a somewhat sarcastic tone which was quite typical of her to leave the woman take care of the woman. "Don't worry, I can take care of it."
After taking off her armor, Melia removed the dagger to look at the wound. "Ah geez, could have hit her somewhere else?" one lobe of the lung was definitely punctured... taking Sigma's expensive and rare, elixir, she applied it to the organ, hoping it would seal up. "Still probably gonna need at least one or two days for it to completely heal and gain back her ability to breathe properly." The woman in green hair started to wake up as Melia was about to start suturing the wound close.
"Welcome back to the land of the living! Now please don't move if you don't want to be in more pain than you already are..."

Rhia felt like absolute crap. It had been a long time since she'd received a good beatdown. Her forehead hurt like hell, and her breathing was still a bit of a struggle. Still groggy from just awakening, she wondered if she was even still alive. If she was dead, then boy, did the the afterlife suck. No.. wait... I'm not dead. I can hear someone. Someone... healing me? She couldn't make out anything the female voice was saying, or whether she was even talking to Rhia, but she opened her eyes just before she heard the words "welcome back", and then was able to see the woman in question working on the dagger wound on her lung.
"Ow.. ah.. alright, sorry, I'll try and keep still. Um.. just who are you exactly? And where am I? Just as things began to focus in better around her, her eyes widened as she remembered something. Instinctively trying to sit up, pain immediately shot into her upper body, and she fell into her back again, screaming in pain. "Owowowow! Ahh.. Right. No moving. Sigh... well, what I was gonna say... Where's Geist, my horse? Is he alright? Please tell me he's okay." Not realizing that Sigma was right outside the room, and could likely hear her, she said, "If that dastard Sigma did anything more to hurt my little baby Geist... I swear I'll... I'll get his head on the tip of my lance and serve it straight to a gargoyle!"
Feeling another wave of pain, Rhia winced, trying to relax as best she could, and doing her best not to think of the battle for earlier.. today? Yesterday? Rhia honestly had no clue how long she'd been out, or what time it was now.

From his side, Sigma took out a vulnerary to try and fix up his arm. Tch, she could've at least OFFERED to heal my wound... Now I'm stuck with boring vulneraries while my elixir is being used up *sigh*...
[...]
What did I tell you? You're a feisty one, that's for sure... she started over again to stitch up the stab wound. She seemed confused when the cavalier mentionned her horse being injured by Sigma. "The black one? I don't what you're talking about honey, when Sigma came back with you, the cute thing seemed alright... Walked with no problem and I couldn't see any injury to speak off... Try to calm down a bit, I don't want to mess up right now."
Hearing voices from the other side, Sigma decided to speak up from his side of the door. "Are you guys done?"
"No peeking good sir! This is a female only room, ya hear? she might be rough around the edges, but Melia was still nice enough to preserve a woman's decency in times like this. Not replying, Sigma's footsteps could still be heard as he wandered off away from the door.
Now that all the distractions were over, she finally continued to sew the hole in her ribcage with precision and dexterity. "To answer your first question, my name is Melia, I'm a friend of the guy that just knocked you out. And you're currently in the house we're renting. Being the worryrat he usually is, Sigma probably knocked you out since he wasn't sure if you were gonna play nice and instead give out his location to the man that hired you. Hmm, this is actually pretty funny, I was once also hired to kill him, but I think you can guess who won the fight huehue..."
Continuing to work on her, she was almost done. Smirking a bit, she said: "Though I will say I'm surprised he defeated you, what with the fact you must fight on horseback... What did he do to get you?"

Rhia seemed a bit surprised at the odd coincidence in how she and Melia had both met Sigma. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Melia. My name is Rhia, and I'm a mercenary who hails from Bern. I suppose I should thank you for what you're doing. Given you're a friend of his, I figured you'd hate that I tried to rough him up and drag him away. Heh, now that I think about it, I guess he's two for two on beating people sent to kill or capture him. Maybe people will catch on eventually that it won't happen. Either that, or it'll just get worse and worse for him..."
Rhia chuckled a bit when asked how Sigma had beaten her, but them stopped, as it hurt slightly to laugh. "Well, you see, it started on a fairly empty and narrow market street. I approached him, being straightforward that it was a submit or be hunted down scenario, she he chose to run... right after throwing a bag of bread at my face..." Rhia became flushed a bit as she recalled the embarrassment of the bread bag debacle. "A-anyway, I chased him through the streets, and once he'd led me into the square, I couldn't find him until it was too late, and I was in a fairly sparse location, in terms of people immediately nearby. He threw a dagger into Geist's leg, so I was forced to go on foot and use my sword, which I'm not as good at as I am with the lance. After some sloppy fighting on my part, and a stab to the lung, he put my arm into some kinda hold, at which point I surrendered, but he still knocked me out. Aaand, now I'm here!"

Taking off his leather harness and sword sheats, Sigma hanged them on a hook on the wall. He also decided to remove a couple items of clothing like his headand and vest which for now, he'd stitch back up later. Looking around, he noticed the near empty pantry in the corner of the kitchen... Ah crap, why did I have to waste that bread from ealier? Ugh, guess I should go get Gambit to get some quickly... Dashing out of the house, he quickly got his horse to do some last minute groceries. Guess even mercenaries have to do the little boring things in life from time to time...
[...]
"A bag of BREAD?!?! HA! Ok now that's rich! Man, I wonder when he's gonna find something he can't weaponize one of these days... Though I am rather happy he seemed to take my little training sessions seriously if he really did use my techniques... chuckling to herself, Melia started to bandage up the newly made stitches, making sure to not move her around too much.
Well, I would tell you to lay down for now, but I think I can already guess you're not the type of girl to do that. I'd at least ask you to stay here for a day or two, you might not feel it now but you're going to have trouble getting enough oxygen if you try to stand up and walk around too much. Don't worry, after doing that to you, Sigma is gonna be of the same mindset as me to keep you here. It's not like you personally wanted to capture him after all. Mercenaries do what mercenaries do...
Standing up, she wiped off her arms from the bit of blood that had gotten on them. Alright then, you can take one of these clothes over there. she pointed randomly towards a small pile of basic woman clothes that belonged to her. "Yours need a wash badly after you lost that blood. I'll be in the next room if you need anything." she then left the room, only to find the thief carrying back a pretty big bag of bread.
"Bread Thrower, huh?"
"Oh, put a sock in it, Melia..."

As Melia finished up on Rhia, she said, "Thank you again for your help. I really can't thank you enough. I suppose I should also thank Sigma, since he's the one that brought me here... ugh..." Rhia was already feeling reluctant at seeing him again, especially so she could thank him of all things, after all that had transpired before. "Huh, where did he go anyway?" As if in response to her question, Rhia heard the main door of the relatively small house close as someone left. "Welp, never mind then I guess! Could you just.. I dunno.. maybe send him in here when he gets back? I wanna talk with him for a bit."
Once she heard Sigma return, she assumed that Melia would simply send him in at some point. Until then, she simply sat there twiddling her thumbs while she thought to herself. Sigh... A day or two, huh? With two complete strangers? Something tells me I might get more acquainted with Sigma than I would have anticipated when I first took the capture job. Plenty of awkward moments await in the future for Rhia and Sigma! What are they gonna be? Who friggin' knows, but I guess we're gonna find out. Maybe even right now, if he ever comes in here! Now, Rhia just felt a mix of incoming awkwardness, a bit of anger, and boredom. She just wanted to talk to Sigma, or either of them for that matter. She wasn't used to staying cooped up in bed, especially since she rarely got sick, she sent when she did, she wasn't usually completely bedridden. Ugh... This is gonna be a long couple days, isn't it?

Oh! I almost forgot, Oh Mighty Chucker of Various Baked Grain Loaves, Rhia wants to talk to you in there... Ohhh, you gon' get it Grey..." she started putting her hand up to her mouth in a playful manner to really drive home the fact she was making fun of him. Simply closing his eyes, smiling in response, Sigma walked past her to enter the room. Better just get it over with now, she's probably VERY pissed about the whole thing... At least she's too hurt to do anything dangerous?
Slowly opening the door, he instantly recognised the green haired mercenary even if she wasn't wearing her ebony-like armor. Walking over to grab a chair next to Melia's desk, he quickly sat down, crossing one leg over the other before speaking: "So? Are you doing ok? I really didn't want to hurt you this badly. I've simply taken a habit of always going for weak points... Guess that's sort of dumb when trying to fight non-lethally... Well anyways, I'm also sorry about your horse. I gave him some elixir to cure his wounds, if that makes up for it in any small way. I just couldn't fight you while you were on horseback, no way I'd have won that fight. I don't do well against cavalry..."
Leaning in, he started looking her directly in the eyes, curious to know what it is she wanted to talk about: "But anyways, Rhia. Oh, I hope you don't mind I call you Rhia? Anyways, Melia told me you wanted to talk to me, correct? What is it?"
He still was a bit weary about her. If he needed, this could easily become an interogation to find out who had called the hit on him. Sigma may not like murder, but questioning with some slight "motivation" to help out definitely wasn't under him. Maybe Melia knows a few tricks if needs be...

When Rhia heard the door creak open as Sigma entered, she tried to turn on her side to give him the cold shoulder, but was again met with immense pain in her side, forcing her to roll over onto her back again, and making her initial response to what Sigma asked to be a bit strained. "A-ahhh! Dammit... Sigh, I guess I'm doing as well as anyone else would be, had they just been stabbed in the lung. Maybe even better off in my case, thanks to your friend helping to heal me. And, uh, apology accepted regarding Geist, but once I'm good enough, I'm checking every square inch of him, just to be sure!"
"I guess it's fine if you call me Rhia. I mean, it'd get really annoying and inconvenient if I made you continuously refer to me as 'Lady I Stabbed in the Lung'. And yeah, I wanted to ask you something mainly..." Rhia paused a moment, catching her breath before continuing to speak. "Why the hell did you spare me? I was an open threat to you, and whatever it is you do around here. For all I can assume, I basically put your livelihood at risk. Despite that, you decided sparing the bounty hunter with a possible case of anger management issues was a solid idea. You definitely aren't the typical criminal, Sigma, I can tell that."
Hmm, maybe I can find a way to get back at him yet... hehehe...
Piping up in a mocking and pompous voice, Rhia waved her hand at Sigma. "Oh, dearest me, it seems I'm quite famished, but, oh woe is me, I cannot move from my bed! Please, dear Sigma, might you be able to fetch me some food and drink? Thank you in advance, my good acquaintance!" As she finished her sentence, she stared Sigma in the eye with a mischievous grin. This'll be fun! Hehehe...

Surprised I didn't kill you? Damn, you must work with some seriously dangerous people if murder is the solution for a simple capture and retrieve mission... he first gave her a confused look before finally explaining himself: "Well it's quite simple, no? First thing you said to me was that it was your job to bring me back to Ilia. I imagine me being killed would kind of ruin that plan. So if killing me wasn't your goal, why should I do it to you? I don't know how you do things in your line of work, but I personally prefer to avoid killing needlessly, I'm not a sellsword anyways. If people start hearing I kill people, it'll ruin my reputation. Also you knew when to give up. Killing you then would've been stupid knowing your wounds weren't fatal." he quickly remembered the bandit he had to kill a few weeks prior after severing a major artery too hard to stitch up.
His calm demeanor however changed as Rhia decided to push her luck and try to twist Sigma around her fingers, his expression changed to that of an extremely unamused one. Walking up to her, his face did not show any emotion as he slowly said: "Hey Rhia... Have you ever been tossed out of a window of a two-story building? Because I have, and as so will you if you continue talking with that tone. I wonder what happens when you fall straight on your torso with a hole in your lungs."
Hoping that got the message across for Rhia that him rescuing her didn't give her the right to start acting all high and mighty, Sigma went back to his seat, this time a lot less patient:
"Now why don't YOU tell who hired you? I want a name.

Hmm, I suppose he makes a fair enough point on why he wouldn't kill me. I guess I'm just used to so many other mercenaries and such operating on a take-no-prisoners policy. They don't all of that, but I've seen node that do than those that don't, unfortunately. Rhia was starting to gain a small bit of respect for the information broker as he continued on with explaining his reasoning for not killing her. That changed however, when she decided to be a smart ass, something she regretted immediately.
As soon as she tried to be humorous in her way of asking for food she drink, her heart skipped a beat as Sigma got much closer to her, and more aggressive, threatening to throw her out the window of the room. As a few gears began welling up in her eyes, she tried her best to stay strong and keep them inside. "Y-you wouldn't really do that someone who can barely move, would you? I-I'm sorry! I was just trying to be funny! I thought you'd appreciate some humor, but I guess you're not one for comedy..." After pausing for a moment, trying to breathe clearly amongst labored breaths mixed with mild hyperventilation, she finally continued, "Look, I'm sorry, but I don't know who the hell it was the at hired me. He never gave a name. All that I know are his physical features. He had gray eyes and hair, he was sort of on the upper end of middle age, and he also seemed to be Ilian. If you're hoping for more, I'm sorry. I promise on my life that that's all I know about him!"
Starting to choke a bit on her now mostly faint words, she said, "C-can we please stop this now? I don't like it... I p-promise I won't joke around near you again..."

Wait what's happening? A few hours earlier she was still making fun of me with a goddamn knife in her ribcage... So why is it that she seems so... scared right now? Or maybe she's simply putting on an act right now, that could also be possible. But still, very good crocodile tears if so. sighing softly, his tone lightened somewhat but could still be considered stern: "Oh no, I love comedy. I'm simply a bit on edge today and also I don't like it when somebody sasses me when I've saved their life instead of simply letting then bleed out like many others would've done. But I guess you're right, I wouldn't throw you out the window, it's much too small for that." Sad thing is I think Melia would've done a lot worse, she lucky I'm the one asking the questions..."
She then went on to say how she didn't know the man's name. Tch, guess only I try to build a trust between employer and employee... Apparently he was a middle aged man, something quite common for the people Sigma used to spy on or steal from. However, what really ticked him off was when she mentionned his eyes... Grey hair is normal but grey EYES? No... I couldn't possibly be the one I'm thinking off, there's just no way!
Looking stressed for a few seconds as he looked at Rhia without saying anything. Realising he needed more, he put back on his serious face. Sorry Rhia, but right now I couldn't care less if you cry your eyes out. Coming closer another time, he went right to the side of the bed, putting his hand on the wall while he leaned over to get much closer.
"We're not done here, Rhia, sorry. That man... You said he had grey eyes... Do you also remember his hands? Were there any rings? he put a foot on the side of the bed. "This is very important so I hope you remember, was there a large golden ring with a ruby on his pinky finger?"

Rhia despised the fact that she'd been reduced to tears. She hadn't cried in a long time, but her injured and helpless state, combined with the fact she didn't have her armor or weapons on her, made her feel utterly weak and pathetic, and crying was the only defense she had left. Without hard steel to back up her words, she was hardly the intimidating person that she was on a normal basis, and she hated it. She likely would've kept started arguing with Sigma were she not confined to a bed, something that he must've been enjoying immensely due to how pitifully easy it made it to interrogate her.
When he continued anyway despite her tears, after a moment of realization from the description she gave, Rhia decided to just answer his question as quickly as possible, hoping there'd be no more questions related to that answer. Keeping the tears inside for now, she kept talking. "Hmm, l-let me think a moment... Actually, now that you mention it, I think he did have a ring that'd match that description. Why does it matter though? Is he like a rival, or your mortal nemesis, or something? Or is it something worse? I-I'm asking cause if I got myself dragged into something bigger than I intended, I think I deserve to know. I just work as a mercenary, I don't do these webs of intrigue like information brokers do. I know how to fight well, and that's usually enough for me to get through the day."

"H-he did? Then that means... Feeling an overwhelming nausea over his entire being, Sigma's face turned white as he turned around to put both hands on the desk. No no no no... This can't be happening. If he sent someone to try and capture me... That must mean... Oh god. Oh this is bad. Seymour was in prison last time I'd heard... He's back. This is awful... GODAMNIT! Smashing with both hands the desk, Sigma was able to make the wood crack slightly. "YOU DIGUSTING EXCUSE OF A MAN, WHY DON'T YOU JUST DIE ALREADY!?!?" Dashing out of the room, he went past Melia who seemed quite concerned without even looking at her. Grabbing his sword from its sheath, he let the scabbard fall to the ground as he went outside where he and Melia had built a training dummy in the small garden.
"SEYMOUUUUR!!!!" going at it like a wild wolf, he repeatedly started wailing on the dummy with his blade, hitting vital areas like the neck with incredible strength. He continued doing this for quite a while, never slowing down.
I haven't forgotten the day I met you. You were a monster then and you still are one now. I swear to god, I'll die fighting you before I let you lay another finger on Juniper! You should've stayed in that dungeon for the rest of your days!
[...]
Melia simply stared in shock as Sigma went past him, fury in his eyes. Quickly going into the room, she was glad to see that Rhia hadn't been harmed. "Oh thank god... Just what the hell happened here?"
Sigma's shouts of fury could still be heard in the back as Melia went closer to Rhia to be sure her stitches were still intact.
