Ok. You've used Flying Arrow with and without the Mastermune though, right? If you use it WITH the Mastermune, you will see a projection of Masa and Mune from Chrono Trigger after they've fused together instead of a projection of Serge. And no, theres no secret. Its just cooler. (Custom weapons tend to only have a few points of attack less that spectrals, and they hit criticals so often it doesn't really matter. Plus, lets be honest, they look WAY cooler!)) Lets see..Theres Mastermune, Einlanzers, The Plasma Gun, Vipers Venom, The carrot weapons...Zappa's hammers...thats all of 'em, I think. I probably forgot a few. OH yeah, that panzy Pierres Hero Sword, made from the Prop Sword...Viper's venom is stronger than the spectral, I think, but has a lower chance of hitting. And to be fair, look at the SIZE of that thing! Oh, and I just looked up MasterMune, apparantly you also heal HP every turn. I think I remember that, its been years though. IF I'm right, its about 50 hp a turn...
Edit: And I looked up the einlanzers. The einlanzer alone is about the same as a stone sword, but with the second einlanzer, is stronger than a prism sword. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE SHINEY PEICE OF CRAP!!!

Really? I've yet to even use Flying Arrow. Haven't seen the need to.
And stronger than the Prism Sword...interesting. Still, I thought it'd give him some cool bonus, such as Mastermune's high critical ratio. And does that thing really recover your HP? That surely makes it GODLY(or rather, godlier than I thought it already was).
Seriously, 12 critical hits in a row = Madness.

Yeah. Flying arrow is a single attack, unlike Forever Zero, sadly. Still, you go with what you've got...And like I said, it only heals about 50, maybe 100 HP a turn. Still, thats pretty handy. And just go to the bend of time (in your boat, in Other World I think, the bermuda triangle I believe it is, or near it, where you can fight LOTSA monsters) and try out Flying Arrow both ways. Its actually not that bad of an attack, but hey, I only got to use Forever Zero once, can you blame me for being upset?

So yeah, strength stat wise they don't always seem better, but the high critical ratio, speed, and in Mastermunes case Hp recovery, it more than makes up for it.

Okay so, as I said, I finished the game, and with what is apparently considered to be the "good" ending. Seeing how hard it probably is to figure out for most people you might wonder "How the hell?". Well, here's the thing. I KNEW the Chrono Cross element had something to do with the ending. There had to be a reason for it to be there. Moreover, I had noticed the small spheres that appeared when different elements were used. So, I came up with several theories on it's use(after having seen the bad ending once).
1. It had to be used at some point during the battle. Tested and gave, of course, no results. 2. It had a special way in which it must be used for it to be effective(namely, the spheres at the top). So I thought what the combination could be. The most obvious and first to come to mind was the order of elements which TD had gone through during the previous battle. Still, it didn't work. 3. Convinced that 2 was right, I wondered what I was doing wrong. Then it struck me. "What if I set it to the place it should be in?". That is, putting it in the 8th slot in Serge's element grid. So I tested my theory. Success!
The only thing that bothers me about the ending(Kid looking for Serge through the ages and dimensions was an awesome ending) is the fact that Schala was blond. She had blue hair back in Trigger, and that struck me as odd. That and the fact that about 70% of the story is actually told to you by the "memories" of Chrono, Marle and Lucca at the very end of the game. It's as if the developers said "We have to make this cool idea fit, somehow".
Still, awesome game. Now off to Ys VI and Trauma Center(DS version, of course).

And now, with Game+, you can play again with all previous stats and such, and can get new, wackier endings. ^.^ Also, heres a note. In the original Chrono TRigger for the SNES, if you got Magus's special ending, he made a speech before going to fight Lavos alone. Before the lst battle in Chrono Cross, if you have Kidd, she says the EXACT same thing, albeit australian-ised(Oh, and hears a treat. Technically, Kidd would be Magus's little sister. Technically.))

Oh, and also, any other battle, if you use Chrono Cross, it will revive all your element uses. So two Flying Arrows, two Strong Arms, and two of whoever else I decided to use at that moment. ((Seeing as I chose the path that didn't get Glenn, and my CD was too scratched to get Kidd...But I wouldn't have taken out Grobyc. Not ever. EVER.))

If used in the 8th slot, that is? Because in the 1st column of the grid it did nothing when I tried it. I recognized Kid's speech immediately.
"If history is to change, let it bloody change!"
And I figured Cross would do the same thing with the endings as Trigger had. How many endings does Cross have?

According to Chrono Cross Shrine, at least five more. There might be others. And yeah. Chrono Cross only works for Serge, and on the eighth slot.

The Chrono series is the most intricate, confusing, yet addictive rpg ever made. There have been rumors for a few years about a third, but nothing yet...I keep hoping!
