Fire Emblem 7 is known as Fire Emblem Rekka no Ken(?) in Japan, and just Fire Emblem in the States. It came out in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, but apparently is also in emulator form, for the computer.

I voted for Eliwood because he gets a horse (Mounted units are my favorite). And because Hector was too slow and Lyn was too weak but Eliwood had a good balance.

My Eliwood always came out suck end game. Sure he was good against ground grunts, but aerial units or bosses? Forget it.

The only way to trully be sure is to get all the lords of up level 20, equip them with the strongest weapon, and pit them against eachother untill you can reach a verdict. Personally, I lean towards Hector. Like all axe fighters, he starts out slow and with poor accuracy, but by the time he hits level five, he starts to become a very decent fighter. Eliwood at level five couldn't take out a cavalier with his rapier. Hector? He pwns.

Also, theres a reason the hardest version of the game is called 'HECTOR Hard Mode'. Better Lord, Harder Game.

I maxed out both Hector and Lyndis in levels and gave each of them the same weapon, steel or silver sword, and I had each of them win a few bouts.

And Lyn has the weapon triangle advantage. Lyn has no hope of surviving end game.

One thing is for sure. Hector beats Athos. I tested it.

I tried to beat Hector's story on Hard. After a long time, a lot of units dying, and restarting a few chapters, I finally was able to beat it. Funny thing, it just so happens that Renault sucked even more than he usually did.
Oh, and I voted Lyn.

Gameplay-wise, Hector has the biggest advantage of all three lords. Maximum HP and high defense. If memory serves right, his magic defense wasn't so bad either. Plus, he's got high strength. It's kind of obvious that he'd win in a fight against most other units.
Lyn had some decent and balanced stats, and had speed and skill going for her. He'd hit twice often against most units.
Eliwood was kind of in the middle of it all, which is why he's viewed as the "lame" lord. But even if he had advantages, most don't see it the other way around. He has no disadvantages either, most of the time. And the horse gives him extra movement, to boot.
