Arston, it sounds "Arabic," not "Arab." Arab is the noun, Arabic is the adjective. I don't have to explain that to you, do I?
I'm blaming the Canadian education system.

You're right, Arab is a nationality. Arabic is an adjective. Your name would sound like an Arabic name. Not an Arab name. (I might be confusing Arabic with Arabian, I'm not that keen on that section).
EDIT: actually, just looked it up in a dictionary. Oddly enough, we're both right. Arab can be used as an adjective, pertaining to things related to that region. However, so can Arabic and Arabian. I'm just not used to hearing Arab used as an adjective. And I still think it would sound better to use Arabic or Arabian. It's probably one of those unofficial grammar rules, like never ending a sentence with a preposition.

So it's a contest now? As kraft will doubtlessly confirm "Tering" which is about as close to "Dering" as you get, is a disease and a foul word in my language. my parents never even gave me a chance.

My ancestors were the founders of a city in Spain(which also has my last name). Does that make me cool?
