On the way to Sacae (Laus)

[Ralph Meglane]

"Yeah, okay Matis." said Ralph still weirded out by Dave. He hurried over and helped Matis pull Zeiss.

[Zeiss]

Being perfectly comfortble in this position, Zeiss did not wake.

[Matis]

Once they got to town, Matis asked the guard at the entrance for directions to the inn, and was glad to find out that it was only a block away from the town's entrance. He asked for three rooms, and along with Ralph he left Zeiss resting on his bed.

"Excuse me, sir, but you haven't seen a man with short brown hair that looked like a Bern soldier along with a girl that has red and purple hair, have you? They have a wyvern and a pegasus as steeds, so they are quite hard to miss." Matis asked to the inn's owner.

"Sorry sir, no. I'd have remembered anyone with those descriptions." the man replied, and went on with whatever he was doing.

"Damn...I knew he wouldn't let himself be seen."

Afterwards, he told Ralph what the man had said, and advised him to get some sleep, as he would do the same. It was nighttime, anyway.

[Ralph Meglane]

Ralph quickly crawled into his bed and fell asleep almost instantly.

[Zeiss]

Zeiss woke up with a huge yawn. He had fallen asleep on land and woken up on top of a comfertly bed but wasn't suprised in the slightest. 'Rise and shine friends, we should be setting out again.' Cheerfully walking outside Zeiss saw the sun high in the sky, they had been so exhausted yesterday, they had sleeped all through the morning and then some.

[Matis]

Matis had woke up quite early that day. His wounds had mostly closed, though they still ached when put on stress, as he had noticed that morning after running around the city to stretch his muscles.

Deciding to check on his allies, Matis went to the inn, only to find Zeiss right outside it, staring at the sun. "That might hurt your eyesight if you do it for too long, you know." he said with a rather humorous tone. "As soon as Ralph wakes up, we are going to Ilia. We have to get some warmer clothes, though. I'm not making the same mistake twice." he added, remembering the last time he had gone to Ilia, still only wearing some jeans, a t-shirt and his trench coat.

"I think I saw a store not too far away from here. I'll go fetch some clothes and supplies for the trip. Why don't you check on Ralph, and see if he's awake yet?" he finished, before heading off to the store.

[Zeiss]

Matis seemed to be in to good a mood to actually accept a no... Strange though that seemed. Zeiss walked back inside and stood before Ralph. 'WAKE UP!'

[Ralph Meglane]

"Yaah!" Ralph comically yelled and fell out of bed. "Groan, Zeiss? Why do you have to be so loud?"

[Zeiss]

'You seemed unable to wake up on your own accord.' Zeis answered serenly.

[Matis]

Matis knocked on the door, and Zeiss opened. He was back, and was carrying a bag full of food and water canteens and a pile of clothes.

"Well...these are yours, Zeiss" he said, handing the shaman a fur coat, a pair of mittens and a scarf. "These must be yours" Matis added, putting a fur jacket and a coat, along with another pair of mittens and a scarf as well. "And these are mine. Ours" he said, turning to Ralph, "are not as warm as Zeiss, but we need more mobility than he does. If they attack us, he'll mostly be in the back, casting spells sitting on one spot, while we will need flexibility to dodge frontal attacks." Matis' clothes consisted of a fur jacket, much like Ralph's, only bigger, which he would wear under his now-ragged trench coat, a pair of mittens and a scarf.

"It's roughly 3 PM...We'll set off as soon as you feel like it."

OoC: Should we wait for Sokka, Kana and Dirk? They are heading the other way, since we've already gone past Santaruz...

[Zeiss]

(OoC: I'm down with it.)

Zeis put on the clothes, which were a little big for him. 'Well,' He said in a severly muffled voice. 'Shall we go?'

[Ralph Meglane]

"Whatever you say, boss." said Ralph, he decided to not put the extra clothes on until it got really cold.

(OoC: I don't really care either way, even though Dirk is my character.)

[Matis]

"Well then" he said, sticking his warmer clothes in his backpack, "I can't run, Zeiss was never fast to begin with", he then looked at the shaman, "No offense", and proceeded, "and I can't let Ralph go ahead on his own."

He's quite reliable, and I trust him, but if something happened to him...I don't think I'd be able to see someone else close die or be hurt.

"I guess we could stop at some Sacaen village, if any is left, and try and borrow a horse or two. Now, let's go." Matis finished, and started walking towards the North, ready to visit his homeland, as much pain as that would cause him.

[Zeiss]

Zeiss hurried after Matis. 'So, what's Sacae like?'

[Matis]

"Most will find it boring..." Matis replied, looking at the horizon, seeing the mountain pass which separated Araphen from Sacae. "As the name implies, they are vast plains, full of grass, a forest or two here or there, wild animals..."

"All in all, the most beautiful landscape I've seen." he said happily and melancholic at the same time. He was so close, yet so far...
