The next few steps was all it took to come to the conclusion they were being followed. Her ears were sensitive when she tries to hear the surroundings and apparently it was no animal following them. This person was not being careful enough to stay off of her senses. The rat's body hanged carefully over her mouth as she slowly reached over to take it out.
"There is someone following us, most likely a male, or a very careless woman," Jya said with a sneaky voice that would no doubt seem like that of a thief. It wasn't her usual voice it sounded sort of slimy, but it wasn't her fault she gets like this. She smiled teeth a bit bared and then just as her thief moment passed, she stuck the rat back into her mouth.

"Okay, so what do we do about this person?" Julian asked as he subtly positioned himself between the incoming person and his companions. "Do we stay and see who it is? Or do we make a break for it?" The mage concentrated, trying to pick up the sound of the footsteps again as well as focusing should there be the need to fight.

“The odds are two to one, but…I would rather not have a fight break out.” Alcibie stated moving ahead just a bit. “Running would defiantly draw attention to us…” Alcibie shrugged. “You guys are the fighters. I leave this up to you two.” Alcibie smiled and brushed off the subject of fighting as if she was not involved. “I can only heal, so you can bet I will not be calling the shots in battle.” No the only shots she would be calling are the ones when she ran in to heal someone or ran away from attackers.

Jya wasn't sure what to do, she wasn't the fighting type. The person following them could be really strong or weak. She could only detect people, but can't calculate the strength of the person following. Her own stature is also a disadvantage in fights or any kind of action.
"I'm not much of a fighter, I guess its up to you Julian," she said taking the rat out for a second then putting it back into her mouth.

Great. They both wanted him to decide. Julian sighed. Why the hell did people always want him too make the decision? Carefully considering their options, the mage then spoke. "Well, I think we should..."
He trailed off when he caught a glimpse of the approaching figure. it looked fairly tall and broad shouldered, most likely a man, and was making no attempt to hide himself. Following that, Julian's mind went blank for a moment when the figure stepped into the moonlight, but then proceeded to run about a mile a minute trying to recalculate a course of action.
'Damn! he thought. 'It's that man from before, the one with Malte. Now, what to do, what to do...Well, since there aren't any dragons around, maybe he'll just leave us alone?' The mage turned to Alcibie and Jya, wondering if they had noticed the figure's identity. In case they hadn't, he mentioned it. "Um, it looks like that man from earlier, the one with Malte, is the one coming toward us. This could potentially change many things. I want your input. What do you think we should do? Quickly!"

Alan stopped abrubtly. 'Oh, it's you three.' Not caring about what happened to these people he quite simple walked past them.

Alcibie tried to resist she really did. It would be so much better to just smile and let the man walk past. Curiosity was gnawing at her though. It really was. She could feel the battle being waged in her mind. The man could easily kill her and the other two. She honestly wanted to know why the man was after the dragon. What she could gather, was the dragon burned down Bern, obviously where this man hailed from, but Bern was also the source of a lot of pain was it not. Alcibie was confused and though she would never take another man’s word as fact. This man would believe the words he spoke, she hoped.
“So…Master Wyvern Rider, why do you want to hunt down the Manakete?” Alcibie asked trying to keep pace with the man. She was smart enough to stand outside what appeared to be his range. Then again he could always throw something at her, but Alcibie took that risk.
“That might not be the right question. How did you come to obtain Malte? If you do not mind my asking…” Alcibie smiled. Really this man was on a mission. She had to keep shuffling her feet to keep up with the man. She had to know something…that is all she thought about.

Alan could ignore the women but he thought it best to explainhis reasoning once and for all, sothat he could make sure that these didn't get in his way again. 'Your good friend Aerious seems to be convinced that the people of today are directly responsible for the eradication of the Dragons a Thousand years ago. So, he committed genocide on my people. i don't want that to happen again and I'll go to any and all lengths to stop him. Last time we fought I got sorely beaten so I visited my friend, the Living Legend to obtain this. i can't be more specific.'

Alcibie smiled, she had actually gotten an answer out of the man. She half expected to get a lance. This man spoke of the other dragon unfavorably. Honestly, Alcibie had to agree he burned down Bern. He took so many lives and she could only save a handful if that handful even made it out of the city. She did not want to, but if they stopped again she should offer up a prayer for the departed souls.
“Believe me when I say he is not a friend of mine.” Alcibie clutched the arm which held her staff. “Clerics and mass murders do not get along…” She tried to calm down she did eventually let go of her arm to force a smile. “Though, one point in his favor is he has lived long enough to see humans as a mass not people maybe that is his logic. Sad and twisted it maybe, but he sees the world that way.” Alcibie shrugged, but she was still tense and was horribly remembering the smell of burning flesh.
“The living legend…you mean the great archsage. I heard Saint Elimine came back, but he is alive too. Wait…there are eight heroes…” Alcibie’s brain kicked in to over drive, do we really only have two of the eight on our side? She had heard about the fight with Durban and Roland, weapons had been drawn against Hanon as well. That was Barigan’s spear in Alan’s hand. Had the wyvern lord fought the legendary holy knight? What of Hartmut leader of the eight legends? Bramimond she had never heard of his death was he still alive like Athos?
“What are you going to do when you find Myra?” Alcibie asked shaking her head of the other thoughts that plagued her mind. She needed to think a way out of this situation. Alan was most likely going to kill Myra just because some day she might turn out like Aerious.

'Sharing food, exchanging stories, sitting together by a campfire. I'd say get plenty along with him. What am I going to do with Myra? She's a bargaining chip. Aerious doesn't see us as sentient being but he sees her as one, if he cares enough for a fellow dragon then he'll surrender himself to me. If I'm wrong, then it would be an opportunity to get Myra on my side.' Alan didn't want to reveal his entire plan but he preferred it if he kept the argument away from his lance, if Aerious were to ever find out that this was a temporary arrangement, it would put a damper on things.

Alcibie was not sure why, but after hearing the ridiculous explanation she felt at ease. She knew she should not, but there was something about hearing that he was not going to lance Myra made her relax. Though, the man claimed to get along with Aerious. That bit of information unsettled her.
“Do you mind if I follow behind you until you meet Myra? Obviously, I am no threat to you, but I would like to see the girl in one piece.” Alcibie knew she was being pushy. Actually, she was being pretty narrow-minded. Myra would not appreciate her showing up with the Malte user. If he did attack her there was nothing she could do except witness the Manakete’s death. “What are you going to do when you get Aerious on your side?”The first thought was taking down the eight legends, but Alcibie thought there was a group of them doing that. Maybe the group is broken up into teams. Alcibie could not be sure, but the dragons probably played a huge role in this world even now that beings had been brought back to life.

'Damn,' Julian thought. 'Why do I always get into these kind of situations?' It was just like back at the academy, that one time...'No, no. Can't go down memory lane now.' He shook his head.
He then turned his thoughts back to the situation at hand. Why did Alcibie have to ask that? Yeah sure, she may find Myra faster, but only to see her become some pawn and/or hostage in the by-play between the dragon from earlier and this man. He sighed to himself and then decided his course of action. 'Well, if she is serious, and he agrees, I'm not leaving her to travel with this guy alone. And if that's the case...' He glanced at Jya from the corner of his eye to gage her reaction to all this. She'd probably end up going with them for one reason or another.
His mind made up, Julian whispered to Alcibie so that only she could hear in the pause before the man answered her question. "As much as I think that it isn't a good idea, I'll be going with you if he agrees. If not, I'll still stick with you. And Jya will also probably follow you, you know."

Jya zoned out for a minute and remained quiet in the conversation. When her mind finally snapped back to reality, there was some weird feeling she can't shake off. It was a feeling of being watched by strangers. It felt like someone catching her in the act of stealing. Yes there was some other presence here. Part of her wanted to tell everyone, but it was best to remain silent until she can truly hear or spot anyone.
As for using someone else as a tool, it just couldn't be the right thing! Her parents taught her that pain only results in more pain. It just didn't seem right to use any living thing. Sure its fine to hunt them if you're starving as far as she knew. Just as she was going to say what was on her mind, she spotted something. It was shimmering or so it looked to her.
"There's something here," she whispered just enough so that the others could hear.

Alcibie turned to Jya as if she had just grown a third head. Of course, things would attack now. She tried to brush it off, but now she was overly paranoid. Her staff seemed to now that there were others about. Malte would probably draw more attention than anything else, even if the something turned out to be a bear.
“I was more thinking safe transport…” Alcibie stated thinking back to Julian’s earlier comment. Then again when she thought over it some more, the arrangement would be more like a prisoner transport.
“Never mind…seems that we have to entertain some guest. I just hope you do live by your word.” Alcibie took her place slight behind both Jya and Julian. It was fairly obvious she was sending the knight off, but it was really she had no power over him. A Thief, a Mage, and a Cleric…what had Alcibie gotten herself into.

'Do whatever you want, you'll find out our motives when the time comes. Now everyone be quiet.' Alan thought hard who it could be. There were plenty of bandits in Bern, it was actually about time Bern patrol found them... Man, I wish Grimbold were here.
