A day later.... Raen gratefully left the last behind him and began to cross the open plains of Sacae. The day was hazy and humid with the sun blazing overhead; Raen looked all around and saw the occasional black spec in the distance, which he knew to be a mirage; but then, a strong breeze distracted his thoughts and one spec assumed color and shape when he began to focus on it... could it be...?

Saru had been wandering around Sacae just heading wherever he felt that he should. All of sudden he sees a figure in the distance. It seems that the figure sees him as well, for the figure in the distance begins running towards Saru.
Not knowing whether it was an enemy or not, Saru placed one hand on his sword. As the figure got closer, Saru realized something. 'It's him...that man from my dream...' As Saru finished the thought, he noticed that the stranger was closing extremely quickly, but didn't have a weapon out.
Then, he heard the shout. "SARU!"

Reaching out Raen clasped Sara around the arm for a moment before staring intently at him, "you seem different Saru" he announced. Time seemed eternally still for a moment, Raen waited for the flash of rememberance. Raen decided that something must have happened. Thinking he would make one more try, Raen quietly said said, "It's Raen...remember?"

Truth be told, at first Saru didn't remember this...Raen. But then, it seemed that something clicked, and some of the lost memories Saru was searching for returned. He remembered. He could now recall Raen, albeit was a younger version of the man in front of him. Even with his elation at finding out some of his past, he quickly remembered that he still didn't remember all of it. But maybe, Raen, his childhood friend, could help him.

Saru returned the arm clasp and laughed out loud. "Raen, it's so good to see you my friend. I am truly glad to see you." Saru hadn't missed the look of confusion passing across his friend's face. "My friend, do I have a story for you," he said. "But first, please tell me what has happened in your life since I last saw you."

Catching that special glint in Saru's eye and his friendly greeting, Raen knew Saru at least remembered some of him. Still, something did not sit well with him.
Saru not only looked slightly worse for wear, but at the same time, he felt the odd need to move... maybe Saru knew something about that. As far as Raen was concerned: bandits, rogues, highwaymen, they all ran rampant across these plains; and sitting out in the open didn't sit well with him.
Breaking off from his thoughts, "Well, to be honest, I've been looking for you since the bandit raid... do you remember? That was the end of the town and you weren't among the rubble so I guess correctly, you were out there. The story from there isn't too interesting, well... remember that girl Taiya?" he winked. Then he remembered and suddently started coughing... "and then I became an archer and here we are." he announced, making an expansive gesture, "I don't think here is the best place to be at the moment though.."

'A bandit raid. That would explain the rest of that dream. sigh I wish I could remember,' Saru thought.
"You're right. I already had a run-in with some bandits earlier." Saru figured he could explain what has happened to him on the way to wherever they were going. "You know, I had a map here, but I lost it." Seeing Raen's look, he quickly continued on. "But I do have an idea of where to go next. I happened to see something before we met. I think it was a wyvern. Anyways, it was heading somewhere pretty fast, and I think it landed not too far from here. So I think we should go and check it out."
With that, Saru started off in the direction he had seen the wyvern go before Raen could argue. Saru looked back and called out, "Come on, ya slowpoke, get movin'." He quickly dodged to the side as one of Raen's arrows went whistling by. "Hey! You almost hit me with that!" Saru though was grinning madly. He remembered this feeling, and he had missed it. With that, the continued their 'discussion' while they walked the plains of Sacae.
