Kynlis followed Clair to the stables. When they arrived, Clair went to ready her pegasus, but Kynlis just stood there watching. That was a pegasus? It was so, so - cute!
"Ready to get on?" When the hunter heard this, she looked at Clair with wide eyes.
"I'm riding with you?" She asked hopefully. She then glanced at the pegasus, before glancing back at Clair. Having never ridden anything before, she asked, "Help me up?" and reached out, waiting.

Valorian had been expecting to hear Jya when the flap opened, when he heard a man's voice instead, he looked up to see Richter. Well that was a surprise, and he planted his staff to help himself to his feet.
"Ah, Commander Abend, I was just a little bothered by the former Commander's actions, though I am glad he could find peace before his death. Is there something I can do for you?"
He had plenty of questions for the up and coming Commander. By the tone of the letter, he was new to the Prophet's service, and that meant he might not be completely seduced by his honeyed words.

"Of course! Why scout from the ground when you can do it from the air?" It wasn't a real question. Clair smiled as she reached down and helped Kynlis up onto the back of the saddle. She was glad that some one else was able to enjoy flying. many got nervous when offered the chance.
"Now, hang on." She had confidence in Corona's power, but sometimes his takeoffs could be a little smother. They were both still in training after all.
Corona's wings raised above and held completely still for a moment. then, with a rush they swept down, propelling them into the sky. The ground shrunk away and Clair held on. The view was so great from up here. When Clair looked down she saw the camps kitchens packing up. errand runners were bustling about, and entire battalions of soldiers were active in preparation for breaking camp.

The jolt at takeoff made Kynlis grab tightly to Clair, but after they were up in the air, all the girl could do was look around in amazement. "This is so cool!" she said loudly to be heard over the sound of the pegasus' beating wings.
Remembering what her commander had said, she asked, "So what exactly are we supposed to do?"

Jya stumbled about, finally having a drink of water. If her hunch was correct Valorian is probably back at the tent, with the thought she began to rush towards it, but immediately stopped when there was that man talking to Val. Not sure what to do, she plopped herself down, sitting crisscrossed at the middle of nowhere in particular. Looking up, she even managed to spot a flying horse with people riding over the camp. Well, it was either that or shes going blind or hallucinating.
Just a little bit more, Valorian will come up with a way to stop all this crazy war things.

"Look for anything that might cause a problem for the army." Clair said looking down at the camp. "...The Commander said he wanted to start marching today."
The camp tents had started being taken down, and there seemed to be good progress in getting things moving. Many of the wounded would likely have to stay, but there were still many people that would come with them.
OoC: Kyn feel free to move us to a conflict if you want. Maybe an some young'un thinks to start a mutiny? I don't know. I can come up with something if you don't feel like it...

Richter rubbed his chin. It would be nice to get his hands back on the Herald's letter, and this kid might have seen it when he healed Yurau. Ah well, he'd go look through Yurau's tent later. It didn't matter too much at the moment. "No, nothing important," said Richter casually. "Did that girl with you ever get the assistance she needed?"

"Problems..." Kynlis mumbled to herself. She glanced around from up high, then, seeing a few men walking away - toward Etruria, she thought - with full packs, she reached over Clair's shoulder and pointed, saying, "Is that a problem? They look like they're leaving. And they're going the wrong way to be scouts."

Valorian looked up at Richter. "Hmm? Oh no. Her illness is beyond what I can cure, she just needs to rest often. She's a helpful companion though, we find allies in weird places."
He smiled a bit. "But you surprise me Richter Abend, I have never heard your name mentioned before, you must be quite new to the forces. If you don't mind me asking, how did the Prophet find you?"

Richter let a sly grin escape the corner of his mouth. "The Prophet didn't find me. I found the Prophet," said Richter. "There were military sign ups in Delphia, and I needed a job." He closed his eyes and shrugged. "To make a long story short, I spent a week in the castle, and then the Herald assigned me Region Officership down here in Sacae. It makes sense you haven't heard of me, since just a little over a month ago I was a common mercenary."

"Could be... Lets go see what they say." Clair guided Corona towards the men leaving the army below. The pegasus swept down out of the sky about twenty paces in front of them.
"Halt" Clair was never so aware of her voice sounding so young. She ignored that and turned Corona sideways, blocking their path. "On who's authority are you leaving the camp?"
The lead soldier looked disgusted. "I don't need some usurper's permission to leave girl. Get out of my way."
He tried to walk past her, but Clair prompted Corona forward to block his path. "You're a servant of the Prophet. Go back to the army and serve." She knew that an Illian mercenary would never default on a contract. Why couldn't the average soldier get that?

When Clair landed and commanded the men to halt, Kynlis quickly slipped off the pegasus. She backed up a bit while keeping the 3 men in sight and brought her bow to bear. She nocked an arrow and waited tensely. There was still a chance that they would back down.

Valorian blinked. "You must have impressed the Prophet if he placed you in such a command, that's no small feat."
He thought for a minute. "So I heard you say you were heading to Ostia, if I may ask for what purpose? I had been sent here..well..." He paused for a moment.
Then he resumed. "A reaction as the former commander had was expected, I was sent to observe the situation, and in case of a true mutiny to try and maintain the armies structure. He was always far too ambitious for his own good. Sadly, this outcome was predicted, but I was not informed of what would happen after here. I suppose I'll accompany your army for a time, unless you object?"

OoC: Red text might help them seem more angry...Or just help pick out their lines more.
BiC: The three men readied their weapons, two swords and a lance when they saw Kynlis knock an arrow. "We don't want to hurt you girls, but we're done with this army. Done with this Prophet. If we can kill people here, as part of this army, why shouldn't we turn bandit? Hmm?"
Clair was taken aback by the reasoning of this man. Didn't he realize that the armies of the prophet were fighting for right? Not to kill people, but to stop wars. Clair couldn't abide this selfish attitude he showed. He only looked at what he was required to do in service to others, not what he could achieve for the world.
At this point he had approached all the way up, and was standing next to her. He was looking up as he asked. "What's it gonna be? Get out of our way, or die?"
Clair answered angrily to him. "The Prophet doesn't fight for war, but to end wars! Return to your post!"
One of the swordsman in the back looked a little sheepish, but the others were determined. "That was the wrong answer!" He reached up and tried to backhand Clair off of her Pegasus.
As the blow struck her lance flailed and she felt it hit something. The strike knocked her clean off her steed. Corona reared and snorted in alarm. Through the momentary cloudiness of her brain, she could hear one of the soldiers growling in pain. It must've been the one who hit her, She had caught him with the tip of her lance.
As Clair looked up, she saw the lance fighter from the back come in to finish her off. She thought this was the end but he was suddenly grabbed from behind by the swordsman who had looked sheepish earlier. The enemy spearman hit his antagonist in the head with his lance, before knocking him down with an elbow to the gut.

Unfortunately, it seemed this incident wouldn't end peacefully. Kynlis saw Clair get knocked off her pegasus, her lance catching the man's left arm on the way down. Kynlis couldn't get a shot off at him though, seeing as the pegasus was still in the way, worried about his rider.
She then saw the spearman come up to finish Clair, only to be restrained by the third man. The enemy spearman hit his antagonist in the head with his lance, before knocking him down with an elbow to the gut. As he turned back to Clair, Kynlis let fly with her arrow, which took the spearman in the right shoulder. He grunted in pain as the arrow, finding a gap in his leather armor, penetrated all the way through, causing his arm to go limp, and the man to drop his spear.
