Jya felt somewhat ashamed for causing such troubles to Valorian. The soldier only muttered some sort of respectful reply before letting go of her and stumbled back to his position. She knew that it was by luck that she managed the almost cataclysmic fight that might have ended with her beheading. She didn't like to be held down and that was one of her pet peeves. When she did notice that the army stopped moving, some foreboding scenarios ran through her mind. Another army? Some rogue bandits? Crazy religious people against this armies' crazy religious people? Well, they were all horrible pessimistic thoughts and completely possible.
"Hey umm, like what should we do?" "If a fight starts, should we try to run?" she asked, believing that, perhaps, this was a time to sneak out of the armies view for awhile. She didn't like these men, not one bit.

Kynlis ignored the man, hoping that someone would hurry and show up. Her prayers were answered when Clair flew in.
In a brisk voice, the hunter said, "This man, giving his name as Theain, has requested to join the army. I signaled for backup so someone could escort him to the commander." And so I wouldn't have to deal with him much longer, she thought to herself.
Lowering her voice so that Theain couldn't hear, Kynlis asked Clair, "He mentioned the army stopped. If that's the case, should I come back with you?"

Theian looks over from where she came from, and guessed that the commander was there.
"Hello! Yup, everything she said was right. Ready with a blade, just requesting some gold and food." He looks into the sky and sighs. "Man, such nice weather. Of course, I'd guess fliers hate this kind of breeze, looking at how you landed. Anyways, am I going, or are we going to sit here and chat, 'cause this one," He jerks his thumb at Kynlis, "isn't talking that much."

Morgoth walked up from behind, since he had been with the mages. At least this is more intresting.Non of the mages would talk to me. He sat there and listened, hoping to have a reason to go to commander.

Clair heard Kynlis and examined the man. So, another sell-sword, like herself had come to join the army. Their numbers were swelling, even while on the march, but this man looked Sacaen. Could he be trusted? She knew a mercenary worked for pay and not for national allegiance, but could this man be a spy from the Sacaens? She'd let the commander decide. He was the one in charge after all.
Clair murmured back to Kynlis, "I don't know why the army stopped. Commander Richter gave no orders to halt, and I didn't notice anything ahead of us on my way here."
Clair wasn't sure what Kynlis should do. She was concerned over whatever had stopped the army, and would appreciate having her friend nearby. At the same time she had to think militarily. Would a scout leaving her position endanger the army overly much? Probably not. There were other scouts after all. Oh, what was she doing, having to decide things like this?! "... Yes, I think you should come back, since you first encountered this guy."
She turned to the myrmidon and raised her voice, "You there, Theian! If you wish employment from the Prophet, then follow me to the Commander of this army!" The wind made it necessary to shout to be heard clearly. With that, she mounted up on Corona and started riding at a pace manageable for one on foot towards the camp. No flying this time. She had to lead someone into the camp.

"Yes, a chance for some of that yellow stuff!" He walks briskly with Clair, continuing to breathe in the fresh air.
"So, let's chat! What's been going on, and where are you going? Seems a bit odd that an army of a prophet is in Sacae. Fought anyone, lately? I hope you didn't kill my kin. I'd be heartbroken if second cousin removed Ladnek died! Ah, such high prices for peace, eh? Well, come on, give me some backround! I can't stand fighting when I have no idea what's going on!"

She listened to him banter on about...pretty much everything. He did seem to put most of his priority on gold, but he also valued information. Is this how she would have turned out if she hadn't joined the Prophet's army?
Clair grimaced a little as he mentioned his kin. She didn't like thinking about her enemies having family waiting for them. Of course Theian wasn't necessary her foe.
She didn't know what it was safe to tell him. "Well, we've had difficulties from some of the people of Sacae." She said, not coldly, but not particularly friendly either. "The people near us had accepted the teachings of St. Elimine's Prophet, but other Sacaens came and attacked us. They destroyed the village nearest to us. There was nothing left..."
She was distraught over the village that was destroyed. It had been full of loyal followers of the Prophet, and they had failed to protect them. She continued explaining some of the situation to him as they neared the soldiers. "We're leaving Sacae now. The Prophet has need of us elsewhere, otherwise we wouldn't be moving."
They passed the fringes of the army and continued on.

Theian nods as he listens to this. "Alright, so you guys are going around spreading the word of the Prophet at a church in Sacae, and some Sacaens from a non-converted tribe attacked you all in order to stop that. The church was fine, but the village was burned. Now the Prophet needs you somewhere else and you're moving. Alright."
They walk on, past row by row by endless row... "But... What if your Prophet's intentions are incorrect? I surely wouldn't like that. I'd switch blades in an instant. I'm a sellsword, and we have the rule of coin: He who has cash, has power. But that's no excuse for being the bad guy and killing innocents and villany-what-not." Theian pauses... So that's where my mother's mania for money stops. When my father's ethics interferes...
Theian stops, and takes in a deep breath. "Take a breath, there is no air fresher than these Sacaen breezes. Breathe deep, because you this might be the last time you can breathe like this. *breathes* Ahhh! Say, is that a guy with PINK HAIR?! Wow! I never saw a guy with pink hair like that!"

While Clair brought Theian back to the main bulk of the army, Richter had learned that two soldiers at the front of the army had gotten into a fight, which, when other soldiers began picking sides, had turned into a brawl. Face in his palm, Richter shook his head as he barked his orders. "Alright men, we're picking up the pace to make up for that lost time. Get marching!"
"Ahhh! Say, is that a guy with PINK HAIR?! Wow! I never saw a guy with pink hair like that!" came a loud and slightly grating voice from Richter's right. Realizing that he was most likely the only person the voice could be talking about due to most of the army wearing helmets and the rarity of pink hair, Richter turned to the source. A blue haired man who may quite possibly be a Sacaen was arriving with Clair and Kynlis. "Who's the man?" asked Richter. "I'm assuming he was the reason for the signal flag. Is he a Sacaen spy?"

Theian jumps back in shock of the man's comment. "Me? A spy? For whom, the Saceans?" He then remembers that this army had fought Sacaens. "Ah, right. They attacked Salvation Point. Say... you're the commander, right? I'm just a guy whose had bad luck with cards and hopes to join your army for a bit of gold. Yup, I'm the average sellsword who has no other way of gaining cash!" He got out his sword, and held it in the sun.
"I came from over those, " He points toward the mountains nearby, " mountains from Ilia with some friends, and was planning to go to Bern to get money. Then we went into some shade, and fell asleep, and then we walked... and walked... and then argued over which way was south, then fought, then.... How on Earth did I get here?!" After backtracking, Theian realizes that his explanation made no sense whatsoever... what did happen, anyways?
If I'm going to be tried for a spy... I'm fully blaming this scene.
"Aaaanywaaaays, I've got a sword, and you got some money. I'm sure you've worked with sellswords before..." He leans back again, being extremely casual, even in front of the commander of the army.

Valorian arched his head around the column. What was going on up there? In the meantime, he felt it wise to field Jya's question.
"Perhaps...if worse comes to worse...and they actually do meet up in Ostia..." He closed his eyes for a moment, was there any other way? But any way you looked at it, one death could save thousands of lives.
"We may need to assassinate Commander Abend." He muttered, making sure that the soldiers near were more occupied with whatever was happening up front then to him and Jya.

Jya tried to say some sort of reply, but failed to do so. KILL that man!?! Sure, she was alright with killing people, but only when there wasn't much consequences and the like! She simply held her tongue, it was only a possibility, not an absolute option at the moment.
"So, should I go check out what exactly is going on here?" she asked trying to change the subject. The mess she got in, might just kill her.

Still riding as they conversed, Richter raised an eyebrow. That was quite the story, or she he say lack thereof. Though, if the man was air-headed enough to just wander off from his companions, then the whole "bad at cards" shtick worked. Would the Sacaens send a spy this dumb, or was he acting? Richter paused and thought for a moment. Actually, the Sacaens really didn't seem the spying type. He looked at the blue haired man and smiled slightly.
"Yeah, I've worked with sell-swords before," he said. The man's informal nature didn't really bother Richter as he wasn't quite used to all the formalities of being a commander yet anyways. "Well then, if I'm going to be hiring you, I'll need to know your name."

Theian yawns, he had forgotten to share his name. "Theian G. Makarn, son of Assasin Haein Makarn and Nomadic Trooper Nieah Makarn II."
Well, I get lost, I lose a game of cards, and now I'm going to work for an army of the Prophet who's commander has the MOST AWESOME PINK HAIR IN THE WORLD! PINK HAIR! Who'd have thought pink hair existed? Ack! Got sidetracked, again! Still, that pink hair is insane!
"Anyways, let's get down to buisness. I'll be fighting in all future battles until who knows when, and I'll get paid about... eh... 10 coins a week? 5?"

Richter nodded. "I'm High Officer Richter Abend," replied Richter, not caring much for giving the names of his parents. His face grew dark for a second as he recalled them. Snapping out of it, Richter looked at Theian.
"I'll start with 5 gold coins a week, and if you manage to make something of yourself we'll increase it from there. You take it or leave it."
