OoC: I just wanted you to know a few things. When I read this, I seriously loled. Hard. I found it incredibly funny that a psycho like Shadow would ever be seen as beautiful. Also, I just wanted you to know that Shadow doesn't have any facial scars. Other than that, epic post, man! BiC: Shadow simply stood still, not saying anything to the monk. The sudden brightness made the shaman cringe. He suddenly felt exposed, weak even. The feeling was almost like the time he was attacked in his youth. It was then that his scar on his chest felt partially on fire. Fear enveloped the dark mage. He did not know what to do. He watched as Tionne had creeped toward the door. The monk was probably afraid of him. Even after he called him 'beautiful', which had never happened before. Yet, Shadow did nothing. In fact, the only response the shaman gave to Tionne was a nod of understanding.

OOC: Yeah, I kinda wanted something slightly funny but also awkward to do, so I put that. Also, I figured making Tionne nosy as hell would be funny!
BIC: Tionne waited for the attack, verbal punch, anything! But, all he got was a nod of understanding. What in St. Elimine's name is he thinking?! "Um, aren't you the slightest bit pissed at me?"

Shadow thought hard on what Tionne asked him. Was he angry? Did he really want to beat the man senseless? Yet, it seemed like those feelings of rage were gone momentarily. It seemed as though the shaman was in shock. The dark mage felt numb all over his body.
What has gotten into me? I would never have let him get more than two feet from me, but now the man just lifted my hood from my head? I cannot say if this is bad or good.
Then, after a moment of silence, the shaman spoke in a low voice. "No... no, I'm not mad at you. Not at the moment, no. However, you need to know that you should never do such a thing again. Next time there may be... consequences to your actions."

Tionne nodded, still scared to speak. Walking out the door, the young monk headed to the fruit stand he saw earlier. Grabbing a basketful of appels and some bananas, he pressed a few coins into the womans hands and said "May the Saint bless you." Walking to the baker, he saw that there was one loaf of bread left beside a few rolls. Grabbing the attention of the man behind the counter, he said "How much for the loaf of bread in the window?" "Oh, that's about six gold." Reaching for some coins, he payed the man and grabbed the loaf of bread. Walking out, he gulped at the sight that greeted him: Three men stood in front of him with swords drawn and pointed at his chest. Oh, St. Elimine.

Shadow watched as Tionne left the room, with a little less color in his cheeks. He was scared, and that was understandable. Tionne almost had a deadly encounter with a man, as unknown to everyone as he was seen as a cold, hardened killer. Being the quiet man he was, Shadow almost decided to leave the monk to his own business.
Suddenly, it hit him. Those bandits, paid to kill the unfortunate man. With a sigh, the dark mage knew that Tionne could not simply be left alone. It was time to use his dark talents to keep the man of light alive. Also keeping Tionne unharmed would be good as well, but there were no promises with that. With that thought in mind, Shadow slipped his hood over his head once more, revealing only the lower half of his face. The shaman then proceeded out the door silently.
As he turned to his side, the shaman saw Tionne walk into a shop. From the looks of the building, it looked like a baker's kitchen. Never the less, Shadow began forward with a single step, but stopped. A small group of men came from around the other side of the kitchen, and went to the entrance. These men carried double-edged swords, meaning one thing; mercenaries.
The shaman had past experiences with those kinds of men. Needless to say, those experiences were not pleasant. They were strong, fast, and accurate. However, their only true weakness was magic. Shadow knew that elder magic was much stronger than anima or light, and that gave him an advantage. With a clear grasp on the situation, Shadow neared the group in silence. It was clear they were far too preoccupied with waiting for the monk.
Once Tionne was in sight, Shadow struck. With the pages in his tome, the shaman sent forth a consuming darkness that leapt from the ground, and attacked the nearest merc to Shadow. That mercenary went down on one knee, grunting in pain. He also used his sword to keep a balance so close to the ground. Of course, the other two mercs were looking from Tionne to Shadow, not sure of what to do. All the dark mage could do now was to wait upon the holy man to strike at the enemy.

Tionne was shocked that Shadow was still willing to help him, after he kinda invaded the shaman's personal boundaries. Nevertheless, he didn't have time to think on that matter; flipping through the pages of Lightning, Tionne found the right page that he wanted: Blinding Light. Intoning the mantra, Tionne saw that the mercenaries were getting ready to strike, so he tried to hurry up his chanting. "...tel mak amurista!" A burst of light blinded the mercenaries long enough for him to run over to Shadow's side. "Thanks. Listen, we have two choices: Run like crazy towards the bazaar, or we can fight and exhaust pages out of our tomes."

As Tionne placed himself by the dark mage, he was having some sight issues. The monk's flash of light unfortunately hit Shadow partially. He was attempted to rub out the short-term blindness. The shaman also heard what the monk was saying to him. At least my hearing isn't affected.
Then, a sudden pain coursed through the shaman's body. Shadow stepped back, gasping for air in shock. He could make out a mercenary right in front of him, also in pain. From what could be seen, the once downed merc avoided the flash of light, and retaliated against Shadow's Flux. The attack caught the dark mage by complete surprise, and angered him greatly.
Persevering through the pain in his stomach, he flipped through the pages of his tome. Shadow grunted in pain as he sent a spinning orb of darkness towards the mercenary in a swift motion. The orb penetrated the chest of the sellsword, causing blood to spew through the merc's clothing. Silently, the man fell on his knees, dropping his sword. It was clear that he would do no more harm.
Grunting in pain, Shadow turned to Tionne. The pain was great, but he knew that they had to leave. To be honest, Tionne was not a fighter, and Shadow was already wounded. Mercenaries were tough fighters, and two (even with Tionne) would be too challenging. In pain, Shadow breathed out with clenched teeth, "Let's just move..."

Tionne sucked in air through his teeth; he didn't count on the fact that his Blinding Light spell would hit Shadow, nor did he think that one of the mercs would avoid the spell. When Shadow was struck, he felt even worse. Flipping through his tome, he found a page that was similar to the one when he'd created the barrier spell. Chanting the mantra that made the spell, he twisted some of the words to make a cage. "...reimona karas tieu va akiram!"
Just like in the bar, a series of walls made of light were summoned, only they caged the mercenaries. "Shake a leg, Shadow!" was all the warning he gave the shaman before they ran into the nearest forested area. After seeing that Shadow was having trouble running, he hoisted the man onto his back and stumbled; hellfire, the man was heavy! When Tionne could no longer run, he gently plopped the shaman onto the ground. "Hold on; I'm gonna try to patch you up here."
Pulling out some of his vulnerary for the second time, Tionne chewed it for a few seconds before placing it on the shaman's stomach. He then proceeded to rip a piece of his habit off and tie it around Shadow's abdomen.

After tying the ends of the fabric together, Tionne sat back and examined his handiwork; Shadow would be sore for a few days, but he'd live.
Grabbing two apples from his bag, he handed one to the shaman. Biting into the fruit, he looked around the forest, trying to see if there was any particular signs of direction they could follow. Seeing none, Tionne shrugged and nearly took a bite when he felt Shadow looking at him. Staring right back at him, he couldn't see his face, but the monk knew Shadow was beyond pissed at him.
"What? Do you think it's my fault that you were stabbed back there? It's not like I blinded you from fighting back!" he yelled when he realized what flew from his mouth. Oh, damn. It is my fault; if he hadn't rushed to my rescue, I'd be dead, yes. But he wouldn't be injured. "Look, I didn't mean that; it is my fault and I owe you for two times you've saved my life." Thinking back on the subject, he asked the question that had been bugging him since he met the shaman. "Speaking of which, why did you help me in the first place? If you'd just let me die at the bar, then you wouldn't be in this mess."

Aura sat in a tree branch, looking down on the two people in the forest. Ever since they ran into the forest, he'd been watching them interact; so far, the one in white seemed most talkative while the one in black was silent as far as he knew. Jumping down, Aura cautiously walked towards the two.
"Um, are you two alright?" Aura asked. The two looked up sharply and stared at him warily as he walked towards them. "I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. Are the two of you travelers?"

OOC: Yay! Another person joins us!
BIC: Tionne stared at the newcomer with a guarded expression, watching him like a hawk. "Maybe. Why do you want to know?" he asked while edging to the satchel which held his tome; should things come to force, he didn't want to be unprotected. "But first, let's start things like the civilzed people we are; my name is Tionne, and I am a monk from Etruria."
As far as Tionne knew, the man before them was a myrmidon; he seemed strong, but also slim enough to be both fast and flexible. His face seemed tanned, probably from years of working in the sun. And he carried with him two swords, so that probably meant that he was experienced enough to be deadly in combat.

Shadow had stayed silent the entire time mostly because of one thing; his pain. While the two ran into the forest, the dark mage was in pain. Even after Tionne's bandages, his abdomidal area hurt. The only reason why Shadow was so silent was because of the pain. The shaman figured he would be considered odd for not speaking, but he had a reason.
Then, someone showed up from out of a tree. Usually, Shadow would be able to detect if there were other living creatures around, but the gash in his stomach was great. Inside, the dark mage was angered with himself and the lacking of finding the stranger. So, all the shaman could do was stare at the newcomer, and listen to the two talk.
OoC: Sorry about the short post, I'm kinda busy. The next time I get on I'll make up for it.

Tionne saw that the man before them was staring at them with intrigue, but he couldn't feel any malevolence come from the swordsman. Extending a hand to the area on his left, he gestured for the myrimidon to sit. "Please, join us; pardon my friend's silence. He was injured recently and is trying to rest himself; his name is Shadow, and is a shaman accompanying me to Lycia."
Glancing at the sky, he saw that dark was going to descend upon them really soon. Tionne walked to his satchel and retrieved a box of matches and gathered some twigs to make a relatively small fire. After it was lit, he could see that Shadow was grimacing in pain while the stranger beside them was staring at the two of them curiously.

Aura glanced at Tionne with surprise; normally, when you have an injured comrade, you tend to be defensive. Also, monks and shamans tended to avoid each other at all costs, so this was a first for him. "Thank you. Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Aura, a myrmidon travelling around the countryside to...find someone."
Staring at the shaman, Shadow, Aura noticed that the dark robed man was glaring at him as if he was an intruder-which he incidentally was. "Tell me, Tionne; are you, by any chance, an ex-student of Bishop Lune's?" was all he asked before the monk looked up sharply, inching towards his book. The swordsman laughed before saying "Relax, I'm not a part of the Third Order. In fact, I'm here to warn you to stay away from Delfia; more than anarchy is going on there. The good bishop himself is issuing a warrant for your capture, dead or alive; I heard about it when I was passing through Delfia."

The pain was suddenly forgotten as Shadow heard Aura's seemlingly random question. His body had tensed, ready for a fray. Then, his rigid muscles relaxed as he heard the swordsman laugh off the possibility of him being a threat. The dark mage listened carefully to what the myrmidon had to say. Even with his focus, the pain returned with a vengance.
An issue came up with Aura's story. He had said that anarchy was reigning down upon Delfia. The thing was, Shadow had no idea why. He decided to endure through the pain, and speak to Aura with clenched jaws. "You say... there are obvious problems in the capital. What exactly... are those problems?" Each pause for the shaman was a growl in pain. Even with the pain, he knew that the vulnerary Tionne applied was helping, slowly.
