Lyar, in his hulking frame, lumbered forwards after the wounded axeman, who looked up just in time to see an angry giant send his iron axe down upon him. Yanking the weapon out of the dead man's chest, the large privateer looked up in time to see some raggedly clothed man on a nearby roof aiming his bow towards the unarmored Aidan.
There was a faint twang from the distance as the arrow was launched, and Lyar moved forward in time to take the arrow to upper area of his back, a little to the left and just under the joint of his shoulder plate...You know...maybe he should decorate his armor with broken arrows...he seemed to get shot by them well enough...
" Alright Aidan, get moving, I've got your back!" As always, as he gave the unarmored knight a shove to move him out of the way of a second arrow, luckily not being hit by it himself. If only he had something to throw at the man...he REALLY needed something like that!

Saturos slid to a halt as he came face to face with four nasty bandits, currently pillaging a nearby home through its side entrance. Seeing the myrmidon, his sword in hand, they quickly stopped their marauding to engage the taller man and his female companion with glares and sneers.
"Looks like you're lost," snorted one of the bandits. The others chuckled like the daft idiots they were. Leave it to a bandit to find a comment like that mildly amusing. "Who's the pretty lady behind you? She lost too?" One of the bandits licked his lips piggishly.
"Come here, missy. We'll take good care of you," he slobbered. Saturos just scoffed, brandishing his blade at the criminals.
"You have to be the some of the most base, lowborn men I have ever encountered," spoke the myrmidon, bowing. He looked up from his guesture. "You have my pity. But if you insist on harming either me or miss Syana here, you will have to deal with the consequences." The lead bandit sneered.
"Oh yeah? What are you going to do about it?" he asked, motioning to his companions. "There's more of us than there are of you. You can't beat us." Saturos knowingly raised an eyebrow, cocking his head to the side.
"Is that a challenge, you disgusting pig scum?" taunted the Etrurian, a bright, friendly smile on his face. The bandit snarled, thrusting his dirty, fat finger at the two swordspeople.
"I want his head!" the man growled. Like dogs on command, the rest of his cronies came charging towards Saturos and Syana. Not waiting for the dodge, Saturos dashed forward, punching a sword-wielding bandit in the face. With the man stunned, the myrmidon took the opportunity to slice off his arm in a quick uppercutting motion, grabbing his opponents sword out of his falling arm and tossing it to his comrade.
"Syana, catch!" he said as he hurled the weapon, not noticing an axe-wielding bandit behind him raising his heavy weapon to strike Saturos.

Syana gratefully caught the sword Saturos threw her and quickly moved to return the favor. She ran and slid between the myrmidon's legs to impale the axe-wielder through the chest. "Thanks for the offer, but I can take care of myself." She jumped back up and gave Saturos a wink. "Does that make us even or do you owe me one?" She gave her neck a crack and twirled the sword quickly to get a feel for it. "What do you think? Prize to the one who kills his or her opponent first?" She grinned at the last two bandits. "Ready, set, go."

Aidan took up his shield and blocked an arrow, the shield was small but it was still useful. He was shoved out of the way by the lumberjack, and barked to leave. If Lyar though Aidan would leave Lyar behind... well he was just as stupid as Aidan was for thinking he'd leave in the first place. He felt sorry for the man, but he bent down and stole the helmet from the same poor soldier he stole the lance and shield from. Poor guy, he's just become a armory for Aidan hasn't he?
Anyways, the helmet wasn't for wearing, Aidan had other plans. After weighing it in his hand, he gave it a powerful throw, arcing into the air and smacking the poor archer right in the head. Unfortunately during this stunt, the archer got one last arrow right in Aidan's unarmored shoulder. He grunted but persevered as the unconscious bowman began to topple off the room. The fall probably would kill him, or seriously wound him. Now wasn't the time to feel bad for archers however. The arrow pierced his shield arm, which was annoying. But he was a hardy man, he could still survive, the pain wasn't so crippling that it rendered his arm worthless.
He really wished he had his armor about now. Damn it... he was too reliant on it. He saw a few more soldiers and guards flood in... including the gruff gate guard. He could see the disbelief in his face, but that wasn't important in the heat of battle. He would need all the help he can get, even from the supposed monk. "I'm not leaving you behind Lyar. Don't even think about it." He smirked behind his face mask. He was a soldier, not some frilly politician, and Lyar wasn't his commander.

Judah heard a commotion forming downstairs as he swept his way through the house. Listening in, he could detect several distinct voices in the next room, as well as combat breaking out.
He left the fleeing bandit to run. It wasn't worth his time to chase him down. Actually, none of this was. It was just in his way.
Stepping out into the room, light flared as Judah drew on the power of his tome, scattering the shot into several small bursts of energy, and letting it disperse in the remaining bandit's back, head, and knee from behind. The axeman fell to the floor with a scream, shivering in agony as the lightning tome seared into him.
"If you wish to leave," He said to the two sword wielding people in the room. " now would be a good time, while our friends are otherwise occupied." His voice was far different from the brash willfulness he'd put on display earlier, back when he'd been acting as an Illian official. Now it was quiet. Collected. Still filled with surety though.

Lyar gave Aidan a moment's thumbs up from his right axe hand as the knight clonked the archer upside the head with the helmet projectile, as the man gave that comment about him staying behind, the giant flashed a grin, the answer was obvious," That wasn't my plan but alright. Let's regroup with the others and get outta here! I make a good wall, ya know, last thing we need his a pincushion for a knight." with this the big man turned and darted out of the alleyway they were, not even waiting for Aidan to reply. there was some commotion in a nearby house (when wasn't there commotion in a fight? oh well.) and some raggedly clothed man darted out of the house: either a brigand or a peasant, he wasn't sure...brigands usually don't run from their own foolish attacks unless they were losing, and from how things looked...
"You there, watch yourself!" the giant shouted, strapping one of his axes to his back as he grabbed the man, pulling him along with him a short distance as an arrow landed where the black haired man had stood moments before," Stick with us, we're getting outta here." thus unstrapping his second axe and once again holding both of his weapons, he took a moment to peer into the doorway of the house: some guy in a cloak, Saturos and Syana, and some other brigand...in his typical suicidal way, the man charged through the doorway and tackled the opposing axeman to the ground," Look, talk is for later, let's go." if he had a hand free he'd point one of his giant thumbs to the doorway, as he turned to Ai-
wait, where'd he go?

Aidan gave Lyar a nod as he hurried away. He must of misunderstood, Lyar had no reservations on staying behind. That was a load off his chest, and as much as it pained him to just leave these villagers at the mercy of bandits... to be honest there wasn't much more he could do that the guard couldn't. It was time to leave, if he didn't now he'd never get a chance. That guard, the one from before, he's seen him fight. He's the one who let him in, he'll be suspicious, and rightfully so.
Aidan tore his lance out of the soft squishy flesh in which it found itself stuck, and turned to run away.
This was when things got difficult, at least for Aidan, it could never be that easy you see? Noo, that would be too convenient. As soon as his body began to retreat, he found his self having no escape. Soldiers quarantined the area, guards at every exit. They swiftly moved into position as soon as he saw the blue haired giant leave. It made sense, in it's own way, blocking the alleyways and the main streets so bandits couldn't flood in. So that when Aidan tore away to an open door, to some home he didn't know. He felt bad for breaking into this stranger's home, but it was necessary.
Atleast that's what he would of thought if he'd even made it in. Long before his body could make the trip, he was restrained. It wasn't just one guard either, Aidan might of been able to through him off if that was the case. "Halt!" He heard shouted at him. He knew it was at him because the man who said it was carrying a very nice Pike that was pointed right in his face. Atleast two men held his arms and his weapon was forcefully stripped from his hand.
"I let you in..." A man said, a stern stare boring right into the Knight's skull. "And we are attacked by Bandits." He added, scorn and venom included. "I knew it was a mistake, 'brother'" He turned his head and looked at a guard. "You, remove his hood and mask." The fellow soldier complied, and as much as Aidan wished to resist... the several armed guards with weapons pointed to kill said otherwise. He didn't have his spear, his armor, he had nothing.
The man reached over and removed the hood and facemask obscuring the knight's face, and he winced in response. He knew the next words out of the man's mouth before even he did. "Aidan Lowell... Damn it, I should of known. This all makes sense now. These your rebels?" He shot at the helpless knight.
Aidan stood there silently, the sounds of battle still being heard from a bit off. "Shouldn't you worry about your town?" Aidan spat at the guard.
"This town, well it's nice. But you... you are far more important then any town Aidan Lowell." The man's smile could only be described by devilish, like the cat who swallowed the canary. He didn't say the words, but he knew the man only had one thing on his mind. His promotion for catching this infamous criminal.
"And you dare call yourself a soldier?!" Aidan spat. Few things made him mad, really truly mad. This man, what he did, what he was doing was one of them. He didn't care about these people, not when his own personal glory was in the bag.
"Well, I suppose that's all your fault. The men who die here will be by your hand, not mine."
"These are not Rebels! They are common thieves and bandits! Don't dare compare those who fight for their country with those who only care about lining their own pockets!" Aidan spat once more.
The soldier nodded his head to another man, and suddenly the entire world went dark. Aidan felt his self falling to the ground, and the last things he saw, he heard was that of a soldier. "Get ready to bring him to the capital... They'll want to see him alive."

"I don't keep score, Syana," replied the taller man, "so let's just call it even." He brandished his sword at the two remaining bandits, however one of them just turned and ran, tail between his legs. At the same time, a man came shooting out of the house, dousing another bandit in searing light magic. Well that was the end of that.
Saturos eyed the newcomer. Well, "newcomer" was used loosely. This was the politician from earlier, only he wasn't the same person. Same body for sure, but his inflection, his behavior, the way he held himself...it was like he was talking to a completely different person than the man who had boisterously and loudly removed a good chunk of the towns forces from the premises. Perhaps he was behind this bandit attack? The myrmidon wouldn't doubt it at this point, but like Lyar said, time was of the essence, and Saturos had other things to worry about.
As the Etrurian analyzed the situation, Lyar came around the corner, tackling a bandit who had been creeping up on them. Big entrance; typical Lyar. Why would he expect any less.
"Uh, Lyar, that's-" The swordsman pointed his sword at the black haired bandit that the giant axeman was keeping in tow, but interrupted himself. "Where's Aidan?" Saturos' head swiveled around, looking for his new commander. The myrmidon cursed under his breath. Aidan hadn't followed them. Dumb hero.
"We have to get Aidan!" shouted the swordsman, hopping through a window and dashing out into the street. His feet landing with a sliding thud on the cobblestone road, he saw the knight-errant moving towards a nearby house before he was restrained by soldiers, one holding a particularly long pike in the man's face. At his request, another soldier removed Aidan's hood, revealing his commander's uncovered head. He could feel the trouble brewing.
Saturos had half a mind to just duck back into the alley, fight or flight and whatnot, but for what? So he could wander around for another eight years and do absolutely nothing with his life? He was wasting the life that had been spared so graciously on the battlefield years ago, and he knew it. What would his brothers-in-arms say if they were here?
The myrmidon shook his head, muttering under his breath. He knew what they'd say. "A swordsman's sword has no purpose if not for protecting those in need," his commander had always told him.
"Yes sir, whatever you say sir" he said to himself, giving his usual response to a man who wasn't even there. Saturos then steeled himself, and with a deep breath, darted towards Aidan's captors like an arrow loosed from a bow. Lifting his sword above his head, he swung his blade downwards at the soldier threatening Aidan with the pike in an attempt to rend him in two.
He might be an Etrurian, but his heart belonged to Bern, and right now, Bern was in trouble.

"'I don't keep score, Syana,'" The merc muttered under her breath in a mocking sort of voice before Lyar burst onto the scene and Saturos ran off to find Aidan. Couldn't something just got their way for once? Sighing, she ran off after the myrmidon. She had to admit she was worried about Aidan. With Lyar not buy his side, could he really last long against so many enemies?
Following Saturos, she soon saw the scene before her unfold. Aidan being confronted at spear-point, Saturos running in to save him. Why couldn't they have found him relaxing in a luxury hotel? Oh well, maybe one day. Picking up her speed, Syana flew after Saturos, readying her sword. She saw Saturos attack the soldier who hit Aidan, so she focused on the other one. As so she could avoid hitting Aidan, she jumped, kicked off the wall of the alley and swung down at the soldier. Of course Saturos didn't want to keep score. She'd have just got style points.

The pike wielding soldier barely sidestepped the blow, luckily his instincts cause him to always distance his self from his foes in combat because of the inherent range of his weapon. Still the attack was unforseen and he didn't escape unscathed. His armor absorbed the brunt of the blow, but it was gashed and he was sore underneath.
He backed up and soldiers filled the gap between him and the swordsman as another soldier fell to his death by the hand of the red headed woman. He recognized these men now, they were the ones on the wanted poster! He would be demoted for this! "As expected. The second we apprehend the criminal, his rabble rise up to revolt." The soldier spat with intense scorn. He snapped his head to the left and barked orders. "Go, hold them off, we need to get this man to the commander!" The soldier looked as if he was about to speak up, but he refrained. "You, send a flare!" He snapped at another, cloaked man. The mage nodded and lifted his hand, unleashing a fire spell that went right into the air and exploded like a firework.
This call was answered with a shadow cast over the square where the soldiers fought the rebels and bandits. The unconscious hulk of a man lied there as a giant winged beast swooped down beside him. The wyvern let out a roar as it's body connected with the stone ground. The soldier riding atop had no times for questions as the body was loaded onto the flying lizard. "To the commander! No stops, tell him it's Aidan Lowell and to prepare a military escort!" With the rumbling of the beast, it shot into the air with Aidan in tow, flying away.
The gate guardsman turned his pike to the rebels. He'd need to kill them to make up for his grievous oversight... where was the other guard? Dammit! He thrust his weapon at the sword wielding man who swung at him earlier.

Judah watched the proceedings going on, as the guards sent up an alert, and the large spear wielding monk, who he overheard as Aidan Lowell, was tossed onto a wyvern, and flown away. If that was so, then some of his acquantances in the rebellion would be... intruiged. And likely free with rewards if he could bring the man to them. Unfortunately, he'd just missed his chance, as he would be unable to outrun a wyvern in flight.
Now, his best chances on recapturing Aiden lay with recruiting his companions, at least two of which were out, about to be flooded with every guard in the city.
"Light burn it all! Now I'm having to stick my neck out for a bunch of overzealous children!" "You two! Axemen!" The dark haired light user said, towards the blue-haired giant, and the smaller dark-haired man he had drug in. "More guards will be here soon. If you can convince your friends to come escape, I can give those guards a light show like they'll never see again! You'll want to keep your eyes to the ground though."
A flash of light so intense that it would leave those unlucky enough to witness it, seeing in triple for several hours.

Saturos looked to the sky as the giant winged beast and its rider flew away with their captive. Frustration boiled up in Saturos's chest. He had failed to protect the man he had sworn his allegiance to. As a swordsman, his dignity was lost and as a soldier, his honor broken. But then again, he was nothing but a shell of his former self, ever since he had tried to run away from the world.
Snapping back to reality, the swordsman looked to the guard he had missed earlier, who was now lunging towards him, his pike aiming towards Saturos's head. His mind clear, the myrmidon raised his blade, parrying the thrust with a clang of metal, and palmed the guard in the chest. The man's balance thrown off, Saturos raised his blade and brought it down on the guard in one swift stroke, crushing the guard's helmet and cleaving his head in two.
"Syana!" he called to his mercenary friend as he looked for a way through the guards. "The wyvern flew west with Aidan. We're going after him!" Saturos spun his sword in his hands and cut down a nearby soldier who had been charging at him, then turned back to Syana, giving her a look that said to meet him outside town. Then, he dashed off into a nearby building, a group of guards on his tail. After a moment, the myrmidon reappeared on the roof.
Saturos looked behind him. Although they were slower, he hadn't lost the guards yet, seeing as they were pulling themselves up through the wooden hatch, albeit with a bit of difficulty.
"Stop right there, criminal scum!" shouted one of them. Saturos just shook his head slowly as his pursuers drew closer, brandishing their weapons at him. He sheathed his sword. "Maybe some day I'll end up on the chopping block, but not yet," he replied. Then, with a running start, the myrmidon leaped from the roof top, managing to grab onto the top of the wall as his body collided into the stone. Wincing with a bit of pain, Saturos managed to pull himself up, then ran and jumped off the other side of the wall, disappearing from view.

Syana watched as Saturos ran off, leaving her with her own group of soldiers. She quickly hid the sword she had behind her back and tried to look innocent. The nearest soldier scoffed. "Do you think that would fool trained soldiers like us?" Syana gave them a sweet smile. "Of course not, cutie. I never intended to try to fool such smart and strong soldiers such as yourselves. I was merely trying to catch you off guard." And still wearing her smile, she slammed the flat edge of the blade into the guy's head, knocking him right out.
Moving quickly, Syana sprinted off in a different direction than Saturos. No use of having a meeting point and splitting up if they just went the same way. Plus, she still had no armor on, so she wanted to be far away from any archers. She ran for a few minutes, knowing it was times like this that she was glad of all the cardio training she had done. She finally got a decent enough lead when she tossed her bag and the borrowed sword up onto the roof of a smaller building. Without stopping, she climbed her way up the building and jumped up onto the roof. Last time she needed to do stuff like this she was getting paid a small fortune. She really needed to get a paying job.
Grabbing her bag and sword, she ran off. Gaining speed, she leapt from one roof to another. It took a couple more of these jumps before the soldiers caught on. They started to try to get in front of her. One had actually managed to climb up onto on in front of her. Praying she hit, she threw the stolen sword at the soldier and hit him in the chest, sending him off the rood. Taking a sigh of relief, she kept going. After landing on the next roof, she spotted a huge guy with blue hair. "Lyar!" She screamed towards him as she ran. "They got Aidan! Get out of the town!" She tried to give him a significant look telling him to meet them outside the town and that they wouldn't just let Aidan be taken. But it was hard to tell if it was received when jumping on roofs.
She really should be getting paid for this.

The time for strategies, and gambles was cut short suddenly when the two swordfighters in the street ran off. The problem, of course, was that that meant his connections to the Lowell were running off without Judah making contact with them.
"They seem to be as natural with making escapes, as they are with charging in blind. Time to go."
Judah gave a last glance at the pair of axmen nearby, before running to a side path, and making his way to the nearby gates. The guards had all been drawn off by the attacking bandits, and later, the flare that the mage sent up. The running swordsman, and swordwoman duo helped draw attention away as well. With all the action going on, the acolyte was able to slip unseen through the damaged gates, and out into the country side. With his departure taken care of, all that was left was to angle his path to try and hunt down that other group, and ultimately, Sir Aiden Lowell.
