Marle was trying to keep serious, but she relaxed as well, hearing this. With quite an audible sigh, she let out her haughtiness, and rubbed the back of her neck with a free hand. That sigh soon turned into a laugh, as she had been troubled over this fort for quite some time, but the most relieving thing was to hear that Richter had not abandoned his home. Slowly, she let her hand drop back to her side, and put the tip of her triangular shield into the ground, and leaned on it. It was a full body shield, so it was quite easy to lean on.
"Well, that's all good news to me. Since now I know that they're not invading us from the south..."
She looked back over her shoulder, and saw the faces from the distance, and smiled under her helmet, knowing they could not tell possibly.
"This is all pretty stressful for both of our soldiers, may we have permission to settle within your encampment? I'd like to discuss matters with you at length, and possibly with the comfort of a fire, and a place to seat. We've traveled a long way, and have a few wounded of our own that should be properly tended for, and given rest."

Taking Canteen back and putting it back in it's place, he slowly took grasp of the lance. The moment his fingers gripped it, he recalled all the memories that went along with it:
His training back at Laus... His first fight... Meeting his idol: Crowley... The Dragon Aerious attacking the Bernese City he'd been in... Slaying Hargus... and meeting Guinevere...
His eyes began to wander a bit to the left and right: as if checking that anyone was watching," Yes Guinevere, I will be returning to Pherae to report to my Lord, the Marquess..." he paused, and looked around a bit more. No one was watching: no need to be so formal. he leaned in a bit closer a smile on his face," But...would you like to come with us? We will be riding out in the morning, and I would very much like you to join us- to join me. We will be back for business, but Pherae is a beautiful place and we could talk and get to know each other along the way an-" he was rambling again, and he knew it all too well, but he was trying to convince her to come with him like a nervous teenager asking a girl out...
...actually this was exactly what it was like.
Once it started to rain however, he looked up with a frown,"...perhaps we should talk more where it's dry, lest we have escaped death by blade only to die by fever."

Richter looked back at his archers and gave a wave of his hand. They dropped their bows, slowly dispersing as they did. He turned back to the Captain Daviau.
"I believe I can give you permission to do just that," said the Ilian commander. "Though I can't guarantee much in the way of hospitality. We are setting up camp in a ruined fort after all. We still need to restock our supplies with what we can scavenge from inside." Richter slowly turned and began walking back to his camp, expecting the Ilian woman to follow.
"Before we talk business," continued Richter as we walked. "Could I venture as to what your full name is? You know mine but all I know to call you is Lance-Captain." The question seemed fairly innocent, but the pink haired Ilian really wanted to know if her name was Marle or not.

And follow she did, after signaling for her troop to come forward. Landing on the ground beside the column of soldiers, Arthis' gigantic wyvern, Riese settled as Arthis began issuing orders to set camp within the perimeter of the rebel forces. Marle didn't know what to call them, they were Eturians, sure, but not the same kind of Eturians.
"We'll share what supplies we can, it's the least we can do for the hospitality showed."
Marle blinked under her helmet. She was looking straight ahead, and since Richter was almost half a foot taller than she, he wouldn't be able to read her face. It was true, she only gave him an official name. It was rude to keep it from him, but she thought it necessary. Slowly removing her helmet, unclasping the chinstrap, and with a small grunt, it released from her head, allowing her hair to fall, and cover one of her eyes. With a small smile, she kept the helmet in hand, down to her side.
"Marle Daviau, of course." She mused a little, and looked up at him with a grin. it was good to get that helmet off, it was so stuffy, and she had enough of it pinching her long hair.
"It's good to see you again."

Richter stopped walking as his cousin said her full name. He couldn't help but let the right corner of his mouth rise up in a slight grin. "I knew it," he said in a low voice, but loud enough for Marle to hear. The pink haired Ilian turned to get a good look at his cousin.
She was taller than when he last saw her, but that was obvious considering their last encounter was over five years ago. Her sapphire blue eyes peered out at him through her brown hair. It was that sure look that she always had when she was younger. "It's good to see you too, cousin," replied Richter. "It's been a long time since I've seen anybody from...before..." The commander trailed off a bit. As good as it was to see Marle's face, he couldn't help but remember his old life in Ilia.
It was uncomfortable, so he changed the subject. "I have to say, I'm a bit surprised to see you here, being in the military and all. I'd have never expected your father to let you join the military." Richter shook his head. "He was always telling my mother how she was irresponsible for letting us take up mercenary work."

"I figured you did."
Marle flashed a warm, receiving smile to her cousin, as well as a laugh which fit with her current expression. Her eyes danced about the soldiers and tents as they walked towards the destination they were headed. She frowned a little, not recognizing anyone, but that was come to expect. These were mostly Eturians, why would she recognize anyone at all.
Marle's gaze rose back up, hearing Richter's voice slowly go off into silence, but she knew what he was thinking about. She didn't have the full details of that incident, she was still young, and her parents were mighty possessive about what she could and could not learn. She knew that Richter's family had died, but nothing more. Raising a hand, she patted his shoulder as if for comfort, whether the man needed it or not.
"I have to say, I'm a bit surprised to see you here, being in the military and all."
"Really?"
Her voice spiked into clear and obvious surprise, and then she remembered about the kind of child she was before, and laughed again.
"I can't blame you, sometimes I can't believe it myself. It's far from what I thought it would be like, I must admit, I'm glad my recruit days are over."

Clair listened as Mavick mentioned the point about attacking from the sun. She'd heard it before, of course, but hadn't ever made use of it. "I'll be sure to make use of that the next time I have the chance. I'll be waiting for that "proper lesson" though, ok?"
Richter gave a wave, and the whole army seemed to relax. Corona settled down and began drinking out of a nearby puddle, while the archers, and other soldiers began to disperse. "Looks like the commanders have finished speaking. I'm going to meet them, are you coming?" Clair was curious about these Ilianers. Why had they come down here, and what word was there from her home? She also guessed that, as an officer in the army, it would be good to at least be familiar with the leader of this other force. She intended to go anyway, but would go with Mavick if he was coming.

"Looks like the commanders have finished speaking. I'm going to meet them, are you coming?"
Mavick nodded. "Yes, I suppose I am. I'll need to include this new addition in my report anyways." he replied. He obviously wasn't looking forward to doing paperwork all night, but it needed to be done. "Well then, Officer Feldsky, shall we?" He asked before he began trudging through the mud and wet grass towards the Commander and the Illians.
Approaching the two happily chatting Commanders, he cleared his throat. "Care to enlighten us on the situation at hand, Commander?" he asked, his arms crossed over his chest, though mostly out of habit rather than annoyance or smugness.

"Lance Captain-Daviau," started Richter, "has come here to gather information on the reason for the Etrurian occupation." He shrugged. "Unfortunately, I can not give her the ultimate plans of the Prophet, but I have informed her that the leader of the occupation is dead, and his forces scattered."
He shot an informative look at Mavick. "I've given their forces permission to set up camp within our perimeter so that we may talk further."

Following at Richter's side, she stopped, when seeing the two approach. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the short young man, and gave him a wondering look, however briefly, and then moved to see Clair, and tried to hide a large smile, but clearly failed. Nodding to them both, she crossed her arms, and bowed her head.
"Greetings to both of you. I am Lance-Captain Marle Daviau of this expeditionary force."
She tried to relax, but being in the heavy armor was hardly relaxing, since she was pretty tired, yet no where near as the people she had been looking at earlier...no combat fatigue was in her system, thought her feet were so sore...she needed new boots.
"Lets talk more at length under the shelter of a tent. Our information may have been misinformed about the events in Sacae, but I think what I know otherwise, is more accurate. Also, it's good to see you again Clair."

Commander Richter's statement about the Illian's setting up camp within their own encampment didn't get full attention, for the pegasus knight's eyes were glued to the Illian Commander.
She was in heavy armor, clearly higher quality than what Clair had ever seen her in before, and her hair was a different color, but it was Marle Daviau, one of her fellow trainees back when they'd both begun their training. "M-marle?" She could only gape in surprised, and pleased wonder at seeing her friend again after several years. "Lance-Captain. You made it!" Clair exclaimed wearily. She glad for her friend. Marle had not done very well in the pegasus training programs, and hadn't really wanted that job in the first place. It appeared that her persistance had payed off at last though.
"I'm glad to see you again too, but you're right. We should get out of this rain."

Mavick frowned at Richter's explanation. Was he trying to say that the Illian didn't know about the betrayal, or that she did? He'd have to ask him to be more specific in the future. "Hello, Lance-Captain Daviau. My name is Mavick. I am a tactitian from Ostia, currently employed by this army." he replied. "...I'm going back inside where it's dry." He stated to no one. Turning from them, he trudged back into the fort.

Richter shook his head. Today was full of surprises. Not only had his cousin arrived dressed in heavy Ilian armor leading a contingent of soldiers, but apparently she knew Clair as well. They probably trained together or something.
"I'm right with you," replied Richter to Mavick. "Let's get inside. I'm sick of this rain."

Guinevere returned Rayl's smile. "Of course I'd like to go with you. I'll never permission from the Commander, of course, but I can't imagine that being a problem as we'll all be reunited soon." She moved her hand and wrapped it around his. "But, you have to let me ride with you. Deal?" She asked, a smile flirting with her lips. She felt younger again. Permission? Was Ritcher her dad, needing to meet a boy first before she could go out? Oh well.

Feeling her hand in his, he looked down to it with a smile on his face," I doubt that you would need permission from Commander Abend: I'm sure he understands." he'd recalled seeing Richter watching their pre battle moment from the corner of his eye ( what? he WAS occupied at the time! Couldn't focus on two people!) as he took his old lance in his free hand," Come on, let's get out of the rain, if I recall my tent should be this way." With this he strapped the weapon on the other side of Elibe's Saddle, and put his free arm around her waist, wartime formalities be damned, as he made his way down the row of tents, trusted warhorse following behind without need of being lead.
