Name: Tiberius Carrick
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Home Region: Dias
Hometown: Redrock City
Appearance:
Tiberius is 193 lbs and 6'1'' of blond haired, green eyed, red blooded teenager. His frame is lean and sinewy, a testament to his time spent hiking around the craggy mountains around Redrock City, and his long blond hair, which he wears in a loose ponytail, cascades down his back much to the distaste of his father, a hard-lining soldier turned miner. He says it isn't becoming of a proper man. His mother is indifferent, though, and Tiberius doesn't care particularly care. He likes his hair how it is, usually telling his father that the worth of a man is unrelated to the length of his hair. His father tends to agree, but it doesn't make him like it any better.
Tiberius's standard wardrobe consists of a pair of dusty, dark brown twill pants, two black leather boots, a various assortment of t-shirts, and the jacket of his father's black, gold trimmed military uniform. In fact, no matter what else he's wearing, his father's jacket is not far away.
Personality: Tiberius is seen by many as laid back, unaffected, and perhaps a bit lazy. This, however, belies a latent competitive streak that tends to rear its head when Tiberius finds himself wholly involved with something, or someone. In fact, while he may have trouble motivating himself on the whole, when Tiberius does find the motivation he needs to succeed, he finds it in spades.
Tiberius is also quite the practical joker, many times enjoying himself at the expense of others, as well as having a sharp sense of humor and a quick wit. While he enjoys making people laugh, he can come off as a bit of a jerk, delivering many of his sarcasms in deadpan. However, he really is a genuinely nice teenager itching for adventure and on the whole does what he can to help those who need it along the way.
Bio: Tiberius was born to Atticus and Sarina Carrick in Redrock City three years before the end of the war. With his father absent and fighting in the war, the first two years of Tiberius's life were spent being doted upon by his mother. However, Sarina, a naturally frail and sickly woman, fell gravely ill in the last year of the fighting, forcing his father to come home to take care of both his son and his wife. He got a job in Redrock City as a miner, having little work experience beyond that of a soldier, in order to support his family.
Confined to a bed for the next four years, Sarina did not have the strength to raise her son, leaving the all-encompassing task to her husband Atticus. However, Atticus, torn between his demanding job, his sick wife, and his young son, didn't have as much time to take care of Tiberius as he would have liked to teach him the ways of life. Instead, he many times ended up taking Tiberius to the quarries where he'd let the kid run around to his heart's content, making sure at least that he wasn't squashed by a large working pokemon or a falling rock.
Sarina eventually recovered, growing strong enough to resume taking care of her son, but by now Tiberius had become an independent child and when not in school enjoyed spending long hours hiking in the mountains doing nothing in particular. It was here that he met his first pokemon.
Tiberius had been walking along a rocky outcropping on the edge of a gem quarry when he noticed a rumbling patch of rock and dirt about twenty feet below. Curious, he made his way nearer, closely examining the spot as he arrived, when suddenly a baby Larvitar burst from the ground, it's jaws chomping up soil as it did.
Now Larvitars are born deep underground, and only after eating their way to the surface can they see they finally see the faces of their parents. As if knowing this, the Larvitar began looking for the nearest Tyranitar, however, it seemed that the Larvitar and Tiberius were very much alone. Not a Tyranitar in sight. Thus, instead of bonding to its parents, Larvitar chose the next best thing: Tiberius.
To this day, Tiberius wagers his Larvitar's parents were probably captured by miners. After all, with all of the mining going on, a Tyranitar's normally secluded living spot could be easily exposed. With a strength as earth-shaping as dynamite, a tamed Tyranitar would prove highly useful to any mining effort.
For the past six years, Larvitar and Tiberius have been a team, the hungry little pokemon assisting both Tiberius and his father in the now family business. Yes, he eats the occasional gemstone along with the soil around it, but Tiberius believes that for a pokemon that eats dirt, gems have to be some sort of super-nutrient. Heck, Larvitar seems to like them. Probably tastes like candy.
Now, however, Tiberius wants to test his mettle. He doesn't want to dig holes for the rest of his life, although it seems to be Larvitar's dream job. Something about the Pokemon League has piqued his interest. The fame and fortune? No. The competition, the struggle, and the victory. To be the best.
With the blessings of both his father and his mother, Tiberius has set out on his own journey. He won't rest until he and Larvitar stand at the top of the heap, holding whatever honor is given for being the greatest. Well, that is if he can figure out where to get his licence.
