OoC: Is the timeskip really necessary?
"The knowledge is there...but not the source? Hmm..." Wein pondered to himself. Aaron was indeed missing something, and the Ostian thought he knew what. Even the most finely crafted molds were pointless without the right material to fill them.
Wein had been lost in thought over the puzzle of Aaron's light tome, having barely noticed either Mana's or the other girl's entrances when he suddenly heard a yell.
"Saint preserve us!"
The Ostian, who up until this point had been staring at the ground, looked up to see a black book floating in front of Xavier like a carrot baiting a donkey. Then, as quick as a light, the green haired Aaron ripped a tome off of the wall and, with a skillful flick of his wrist, blasted the book away from the other mage with a well placed fireball before making his way to Xavier's side.
And as Aaron tended to Xavier, Wein stepped over to the fallen tome, staring at it for a moment before crouching down next to it. Sniffing, he gingerly picked it up off the ground. The archer-scholar cocked his head. The book was completely unscathed. Interesting. If the floating hadn't made it obvious enough, this was clearly a magic tome; elder magic from the looks of it. Making sure not to open it, the archer placed it in his satchel then stood up and turned his attention to Xavier and Aaron.

As the book was knocked away from him, Xavier felt a part of him close up, the knowledge that he had gained from reading the book fading away. Such knowledge he had gained from the book had sparked off a hunger deep within Xavier's mind. The book had fulfilled, in part, Xavier's wish to learn magic. When the mage's spell had knocked the book away from Xavier, he tried, as hard as he could to hold on to just a last shred of the book's power. And then, even as an emptiness crawled over Xavier, Xavier felt something change within him, even if it was just a small switch.
"Xavier, are you alright? What did you do?"
Xavier closed his eyes for a moment as the mage had asked his question, taking the time to take in all of what had just happened within that short timespan. All that had happened seemed so unreal noe to Xavier. It had seemed so unbelievable. Despite a change that Xavier felt even now, it took some time for Xavier to come to terms with it.
"I don't really know. I just opened the book and then… here I am, with all of you here.". Xavier decided to tell a half-lie, wanting to keep the fact that he had gained a temporary knowledge from the book hidden.

Mana nodded to the other girl a nod. "A nice bath followed by a dinner, not bad at all," she thought. The myrmidon noticed that Zelphiam didn't get out from the bathroom, it seemed that guy really enjoyed his bath time. "Okay, what are you..." she turned to the others, intending to ask them to join her walking toward the dining room. Suddenly, there was a small explosion, a book fell, and Aaron was holding a Fire tome with a serious look. "Don't tell me we just got some random bandits pop out of nowhere?"Mana turned alert, she was surprised by the sudden commotion. The green mage had thrown a fireball to the purple-haired guy, Mana didn't understand what happened until the levitating book was knocked by the flame. So that was his target, but why? Her hand moved instinctively toward her sword hilt, but she then released her grip when she noticed that the danger had passed away. The myrmidon didn't see enemy or threat in the room. "What just happened?" The girl could only look at them, confused by the event. Scratching the back of her neck, she tried to listen their conversation, at least she wanted to know why Aaron attacked his friend. (after timeskip) "Varia is really good at cooking..." Mana was astonished by the variety of dishes. There was a good variety of meats and vegetables in the table, also with fresh fruits and...what? She looked at a glass before her, it contained some kind of drink inside but Mana couldn't describe what it was, it had nice smell though. Mana glanced at Aaron who sat next to her. She pulled his sleeve to get his attention. "Hey, what is that?" she asked as she gestured to the roasted boar. There was no boars in plain so the girl didn't know anything about the animal. Even after she roamed Lycia and Etruria, the girl never encountered a boar, only a bunch of blood-thirsty wolves.

Yaen pushed through the forrestry, following the path he'd been instructed to take. He wasn't even sure he'd find anything. But he'd been told this apothecarist was good- Very good. Maybe even good enough to fix his heart problems. At least, that's what he'd been told back at the town.
"I never should have left Wein." he muttered bitterly. He'd changed his mind about half a day after doing it, but by that time, the archer had left. Then he'd had another heart attack. That was when he'd heard of this Lisa Saint. Yes, it was a bit of a wild goose hunt, but he couldn't pass it up. He couldn't pass up any chance to be relieved of this horrible burden.
Yaen pushed his way out into the clearing, and breathed a heavy sigh of relief. So it was real. But could she really heal him? He would have to find out. Approaching the door, Yaen breathed deeply, then rapped on the door three times. "Hello?" he called. Someone was home, there were lights on and he could smell food. He just hoped he hadn't interuppted right in the middle of a meal.

OoC: Timeskips are useful when a thread has gone on about 4 weeks longer than you intended, it's slowing to a crawl, and you're trying to bring the thread to an ending. Lol By the way, Yaen. It's a BIG house.
Aaron felt a tugging on his sleeve, and looked to see Mana asking what the centerpiece of the meal was. It took him a moment to realize this, before he started explaining, in a quiet voice.
"That's what used to be a wild boar, by the looks of it. A sort of wild pig, with sharp tusks around it's mouth. They can be quite dangerous and aggressive, or so I've heard. I mean... I could bring one down with no trouble at all, but...." Aaron realized that what he was saying had switched from being about the boar to about him, and stopped himself with an slight upward quirk of his lips.
"Well, I'd say they're just about the right size for this kind of gathering." The mage took a drink, before grabbing a couple of rolls from a basket nearby, and ladeling himself a bowl of the spice soup. Things were pick and choose as you go here. He noticed Varia's plate held an assortment of fruits and vegetables, along with a helping of meat.
Suddenly there were three resounding knocks echoing through the room. It sounded unnatural, as though the sound had been magnified. Aaron looked around, but Varia seemed unphased by it.
"What a surprise. Someone else at my door." She said, smiling dryly, then forked a bit of salad into her mouth. Aparently, she wasn't going to let herself be too concerned over anymore visitors.
- - - - -
At the door, Yaen was greeted by a youngish brunette girl, probably a maid of some kind, who pushed the door open. She greeted him a bit uncertainly.
"Hello Sir. May I help you?"

OoC: Eh, I guess it was just a bit awkwardly placed.
Forgetting about his bath, Wein followed the rest to the table, pocketed tome in tow, and took a seat next to Aaron. Quickly his eyes fell upon the boar, and quickly his eyes widened in delight. "Ooh, roast boar," he said, clapping his hands and rubbing them together, before leaning in and segmenting himself a large slice with the carving knife. It had been years since he'd had a boar like this. I mean, one was never served roast boar in taverns. Mutton stew, maybe, but never boar. This was quite the noble meal. Varia was clearly well-to-do, if the sheer amount of land she owned didn't already prove it. In fact, speaking of land, how did one come to own such an expanse in thick of a forest?
Wein shook his head, dismissing the inquiry from his mind as he loaded up his plate with goodies. It was none of his business. Still...
After the maid ran off to go see who was rapping on the door, Wein, swallowing a large bite of soup-dipped boar, turned his gaze to their beautiful hostess, who was eating unconcernedly. "So, Ms. Varia," the Ostian said with a cough, clearing his throat of a bit of soup, "what exactly it is you do with all this foliage? Only the exceedingly rich or the exceedingly eccentric run acres of garden and greenhouse for amusement."

As the mage and the archer left the study, Xavier lingered on, mind still thinking about what had, or had not actually, happened just some minutes ago. Xavier could still feel just a little bit of the power and strength that the book had temporarily granted him on the edge of his mind. However, it was just that, stranded on the edge of his mind. Not leaving his mind, not venturing deeper either. And that was not all, there was an itching urge for Xavier to immerse himself into… what… exactly…? Xavier couldn't remember.
Xavier was still sitting there lost in his thoughts when their host gave a second call for dinner, and Xavier hurried into the dining room while the rest were just getting started on their food. Just as Xavier was taking a seat though, he heard three loud, resounding knocks that sent chills down Xavier's spine, although it hardly seemed to affect the others at all. When their host reassured them that it was just someone at the door, Xavier lpoked down at the variety of dishes on the table, and feeling that his appetite was not really there, took only small portions of several of the dishes and began eating without a word.

Zelphiam after he had got out of the bath and changed into the same kind of outfit but just blue, had followed the noise of people talking had sat away from the others, he didn't like the fact that these people were being so hospitable for nothing. A person always wanted something for helping out others, always.
He listened to everyone else talk not saying a word himself. He thought about his talk with Mana for a moment. Thoughts of fighting Calnith traced through is mind, they were not good thoughts all the images in his head were of him losing. Zelphiam wasn't going to eat anything of course he'd go out later into the forest and hunt out his own food. It's not that he wasn't grateful or anything he just didn't want to eat someone else's food even if they were offering it to him.
He'd sit and listen to others talk for a moment and then go out later. The myrmidon smirked at Wein and his fascination with the boar. He rolled his eyes when he could hear the door being knocked, great another person. Zelphiam couldn't help but wonder who it was.

"A pig?" Mana looked at the roasted boar. Yes, it did look like a pig, just bigger. The swordgirl wondered about its taste but she decided to leave it for later. The drink still piqued her interest, she didn't recognize its smell or color. She then tried a sip, it felt nice but she couldn't describe the flavour. Sweet? Yes, there was a bit of sweetness here but there was still another. "Whatever. I like it." Mana decided to forget about unnecessary thought and took another sip. She didn't know it was a high class wine.
"What a surprise. Someone else at my door."
Varia's comment made Mana smile. Looking around, she felt Varia had too many guests in one time. Mana liked it actually, the food would feel better in this situation. "Hmm...I wonder when the last time I had meal with these many people..." Her mood was getting better, this felt nice.
Mana took some fruits and a piece of meat to her plate, she usually didn't eat much but this time she felt very hungry. And this foods absolutely tasted better than what she ate in her travel, she would waste this chance. Travelling meant you would not enjoy luxury food everyday except you had infinite budget or using(?) other people's money to pay your expense like a woman with scarlet hair.
"Ms. Varia, do you cook all this dishes by yourself? They are delicious," she said, throwing a compliment. They were one of the most delicious meal Mana ever had. The seasoning was perfect, the foods were well-cooked and served in a good way.

Yaen was relieved that someone came to answer the door. "Yes. My name is Yaen, of the Amasi." he greeted with a polite bow. "I was told that a woman named Lisa Saint lives here, and that she may be able to help me with a ....heart condition. May I speak to her?" he asked.

"You don't eat with large gathernings often? I'd guess you wouldn't count the odd tavern visit though, would you?" Aaron... didn't like taverns very much. they were too energetic for meals. Too much noise. Sometimes it fit the occasion, and it was great for song, dance, and tales of adventure, but mostly, he preferred to keep things calm.
----
"I'm glad you enjoy it, Wein," She gave a small, carefree wave as she smiled over at him, before continueing.
"And please. Call me Varia. Titles stick in my throat at dinner."
"My lands were run for years, by my mother, Lisa Saint. She was quite the skilled healer. Before her death, she passed on some of her talent, and the family business to me." She smiled, quite prowd of her establishment.
Several collections of the plants which I keep here cannot be found in this climate naturally. Much of it is useful in medicinal purposes, but also is kept for it's beauty. Just last week, I filled an order for two hundred lillies, among other things to be sent to a destination in Northern Lycia."
Carefully, she rested her chin on her hand as she looked over to the archer, a light smirk resting on her lips. "So, tell me, Wein. What do you know of beautiful flowers?"
----
"Lady Lisa passed on several months ago, Sir, but her daughter, Varia, continues her practice here." The maid stepped back, pulling the door open with her, and revealing the inside of the house.
A suit of armor rested on the right side of the area, with a portrait of a distinguished, gray-headed man rested opposite it, on the other wall. Flowers, rested in small pots near the window, and candelabra adorned the halls.
"If you would wait in the room to the right, I will go and see if Lady Varia can see you now. She's entertaining guests tonight."
After a moment's pause, the maid walked away, heading towards the dining hall. It was a very large place. Likely with an equally large history behind it. The name "Saint" was bound to mean something in a land which worshipped the Saint Elimine.
Entering quietly, the maid saw that Varia was indeed, entertaining guests. Or perhaps they were entertaining her. It was difficult to say sometimes.

"Alright then, Varia," responded Wein, respecting his host's wishes. She seemed proud of her maintenance of her mother's land, and she had ever reason two. This apothecary and farm was very well run, and if what the blond haired woman said was true, quite successful as well.
It was then as she finished talking that the Ostian noticed a twinkle in Varia's eye that may or may not have been intentional. Nevertheless, it was a twinkle which intrigued the archer's inquisitive side. She seemed interested in him, one way or another, and Wein couldn't help feeling interest as well.
"Oh, I'm no expert," he said casually, waving his hand. "But I've studied quite a bit of botany in my time. It has always interested me. The powers of different plants, both medicinal and serene, are quite fascinating." Wein paused, rubbing his chin. "In fact, my family had a moderate sized greenhouse on the estate. I was always fond of spending my time out on the grounds as a child, and my brother and I would sometimes duck into the arboretum, running around and pretending we were explorers in a jungle." The archer sighed. "The concept of adventuring was fun then. Now it can be a bit bothersome, eating rodents and sleeping in the dirt more times than not. I've grown to miss meals such as these." Wein shot a small smile at Varia, as if thanking her for the hospitality she had shown them.

"Hmm...It's different. What I mean is eating together with people you know, your friends or families." Mana didn't count the tavern. Tavern was a place for people to meet. Sometimes, stranger could eat together in one table and quickly became friends, like when she met Garnet and co. But it was different from what she had in her mind. Her tribesmen used to eat together while gathering around a campfire, she liked doing that, all of them was her family after all.
The girl sighed, she knew that wouldn't happen again because her tribe was exterminated by bandits, leaving her and some others as survivors. Shaking her head, she tried to forget this thought, not wanting to look weak and fragile in front of the others. "I like eating together with my mother, my tribesmen, my friends. That moment will not be forgotten," she said with a smile. "Don't you like it too?" she asked Aaron. The girl then grabbed her glass and drank the wine until the last drop, she was getting addicted to it, not knowing it would make her drunk.
"Hmm? Why I feel dizzy?"

Xavier continued eating the small portions of food that he had taken while idle conversation continued around him. There was talk of flowers, herbs, and about eating together with families. That last topic reminded Xavier a little of his hometown in Bern. In the church, even though all of the acolytes were not his family, their dinners had a warm, homely feeling. A feeling that Xavier had to admit that he did miss, even if only a little. He had made his choice though, Xavier reminded himself, and told himself once again that he did not miss any of the things at home.
And then, the young swordswoman had asked about feeling dizzy. Even though Xavier did not take more than a few glances at the girl's symptoms, he could tell immediately that that dizziness was the result of a hangover that was caused by drinking too much of the wine. That girl probably had not drunk much wine before.
"That's just a side effect of drinking too much wine.", Xavier responded. At the same time, Xavier placed his hand on the staff that he had laid leaning against the table earlier on and drawing out some of the energy inside. He directed the flow towards the swordswoman, willing it to reduce the effects of the hangover.
"There, that should make you feel slightly better.", Xavier said, smiling as he always did after helping someone in need. It was something he could always feel satisfied over.

"I am sorry. I did not know." Yaen replied. So Lisa Saint was dead. Hopefully her daughter had the same level of skill. "I will wait. Thank you, miss." The Sacaen gave a polite bow. As the maid wandered off, he headed to the room to the right.
Yaen removed his blades from his side and the Wyrmslayer from his back, and gently set them against the wall. He reached into his robe for a fourth blade, but paused. No need to take that one out. Yaen removeed his hand and sat down with a small smile. Sometimes he'd forgotten he even had that sword. He'd been carrying it for over five years now, ever since he left home, and yet he had not used it even once.
