The guard turned at Nera when he heard her voice, he looked kinda surprised to have someone behind him. "Ah, she is sick. I am going to take her to our healer," he replied. He seemed embarassed for being spotted like this, his friends might get wrong idea if they saw him and this red-haired woman holding hands. Well, he wouldn't mind actually, Asri was quite beautiful.
"Huh...She got inside. It seems my plan worked." The thief thought that the Novice would take longer to seize the chance she had just made. It seemed the confidence this girl had showed wasn't a bluff. Glancing at the man, who now turned his attention to Nera, Asri wondered what she should do next. This man was no longer needed, but she couldn't just ditch him right here. That might cause some suspicion later. Ah, she would just try to trick him again.
"Ah Nera...My best friend..." Asri emphasized the "best friend" part. "Glad you are here. My chest feels hurt again." The thief then turned to the guard and released his hand, great, she had to wash her hand later. "Thank you for your help. I was scared back then," she said softly, trying to look nice. "But my friend is already here. She could help me here. Also, you are the gate guard, aren't you? You shouldn't leave your post..."
The man finally remembered about his duty to guard the only entrance into the mansion, the gate. He took a glance at the empty gate. What if someone, an Ilian agent, managed to sneak in? It would be his fault. This meeting to gather new recruits was important, more manpower was needed, he couldn't let the plan ruined. "You are right. I forgot," he said. "Her friend is here. I think I should leave it to her and go back to my post. Captain will scold me if he finds out about this."
The man reluctantly stood up and grabbed his lance. "Tell me if you two need some help. I will...come to your side quickly," he said and then winked to Asri. The thief smiled back at him but she clenched her fists and held her anger. If it wasn't for the mission, she would have beaten him. Asri continued pretending being sick until the man got back to his post, she then turn to Nera. "Good. I thought you would hesitate to seize the chance," she said as she took out a handkerchief and started wiping her hand to clean it.

OOC: What happens now? xD
"Naturally I take such chances..." Nera looked around, starting to hear the commotion die down. "But you did not hesitate to help me in such an...interesting way." She said as people began to flood the area the two were in, all staying silent for some reason. Slowly, everyone parted as the guards emerged carrying someone through the crowd. It was the man that Nera had taken the pendant from--his face was red and he was screaming into the air. Nera raised his eyebrows at him. "Let me go! I'm not a spy! It's not me, it's not me!" The guards carried the man inside the mansion, his voice dying down as he was carried to an unknown area.
Murmurs rose from the crowd, all Nera could pick out was 'A spy? Not a very good one', and 'There can't be others can there? You're not one, are you?' Everyone started to head inside the mansion as the doors flew open. However the talking continued and had now risen to where Nera had to raise her voice for Asri who was standing right next to her to hear. "It seems it's time for the main event to start! Does your chest still hurt, oh dear Asri? Let me help you with that!" Nera went to wrap her arm around Asri to make it look like she was helping her hurt friend, but at the last moment she just placed her hands on the thief's shoulders. "Just kidding."

Asri shrugged. "Huh...I had to find a way to help you without leaving suspicion. I didn't know that it would be this easy. These people are really stupid," she said. Asri wasn't sure whether Nera was trying to be funny or just being sarcastic, but she didn't really care. Smirking as she listened to Nera joke, the thief stood up, pushing Nera's hand off her shoulder. All about her chest being hurt was a lie anyway, to trick a guard, at least he didn't carry her in his arms or something, that would be too much for her to bear. "Well, maybe I wouldn't mind if he is handsome..."
"This acting isn't needed anymore, you are already inside," she remarked. However, if the plan was failed, she would have left the Novice.
The thief believed that what just happened to that poor man, who was carried by the guards, was caused by Nera. It seemed this girl was more competent than she expected. She already knew what the guards were going to do to him, probably some interogation and torture. The only problem was the guards would probably increase their caution after this. "Hmm...But that will add some fun. I don't like easy job, after all."
"Alright. What are we waiting for? The party can't begin without us." The thief confidently took the lead, she headed to the door along with the others. She wondered what waiting inside. Grey said there would be a recruitment here, she wondered why and how the rebel was going to do it.
After getting a while, they found themselves in a hall. As Asri looked around, she began to notice that this mansion was very dirty. The dusts and spider webs were everywhere, it seemed the rebel didn't use this place often. "Well, I am not surprised if ghost like this place..." she said, chuckling.
"Alright. Now please wait here. Don't leave this hall without notifying us first." A guard who looked respectable talked to the mass. Everyone stopped bantering when his voice rang across the room. He and two others then went to the other room, leaving their comrades to watch the Asri, Nera, and the others.
"Ooh, their leader's gonna show himself..." Asri crossed her arms as she said.

5 minutes passed. Some people decided to wait by sitting on the floor. Some also crouched or leant to the wall. No one left the room, they wouldn't be able to anyway. The entrance which they used to get in and the three other doors were guarded by armed soldiers. It seemed they were the rebel soldiers who were sent by their boss, whoever he was, to do the job here.
"So...We are waiting for someone, huh?" Asri didn't like the idea of waiting. She was the type who got bored easily. Although she did look enthusastic when they entered the mansion, her mood was bad now. The thief looked around then up to the ceiling, she didn't like this place for some reason, but not because of the stupid ghost story.
"So Nera..." Giving up to her boredom, she decided to try asking Nera some questions. "Partner". Weird, she never had one before. The red haired thief liked to do her job alone because she couldn't entrust her back to other people. This time was special, she accepted it because her employer would pay her with a lot of gold. "Gray said you are a member of an organization. What its name? I might recognize it. After all, I have worked in Bern for a year," she said.

"Yes, it appears to be that way." Nera crossed her arms, eyes darting across the room. Though the area was fairly large, though enough people were inside that it made her a bit uncomfortable. If not that, it was the people that surrounded her that bothered her. A diverse range of people were present, but it seemed she and Asri had been thrown in with the young, brash, thugs. She tilted her head down and swiped her foot against the floor, causing a small cloud of dust to rise up. As with what had just happened with her partner, the boredom started to get to her and Nera's mood began to worsen.
Finally Asri started up a conversation and Nera was somewhat relieved. "I suppose my group doesn't have a formal title." Nera coughed a little as the cloud of dust reached her face. She fanned the dust away with her hand, annoyed. "I'm not sure if you would have run into us after a year, however..." She now looked around, as if what she was about to say was top secret. "have you ever heard anything about the family name Farron? And now to add another topic to this conversation, how have your experiences as a thief gone?"

Asri watched the cloud of dust make Nera coughing. It was her own fault anyway. Covering her mouth and holding her breath, Asri then mimicked Nera to fan the dust away with her other hand. "Stop making that stupid cloud of dust..." she grumbled angrily. The thief then tried to recognize the name. Farron, she might know it. It did ring a bell, she wondered where she heard the name.
"I think...I think I've heard about it. I am not sure, though," she replied. When Nera asked about her expreience as a thief, the crimson haired thief responded with a small chuckle. Well, Asri was a proud woman, she liked to boast her "achievement". And it was something she had really done, never she bluffed or lied about it. Sometimes, she even didn't hide her failures. "Well, I had enjoyed robbing those rich fools. And thank to them, I could live in luxury," she began her story. She looked proud of it.
"You probably have heard about someone who sneaked into the Merchant Guild's treasure vault last month. That was me," she boasted with a proud smile.

Nera stopped moving her foot but continued to keep her arms crossed. All energy that had gone into moving her foot moved to her fingers, which began to tap on the side of her body. She was initially listening to Asri without looking at her, though on mention of the Merchant's Guild her partner couldn't help but draw her attention. "Oh, so that was you then...?"
Nera spotted a smile spread across Asri's face. It bothered her, so she decided to get rid of it. "Your achievement is really nothing to be smiling about." In reality it was a noteworthy achievement, and Nera secretly acknowledged this. "I suppose I shouldn't be one to talk however, this is my first mission that doesn't require only negotiations to finish...So, is that all you wanted to say?"

"Oh, so that was you then...?"
Asri smiled proudly at her question, nodding and crossing her arms. But then...
Nothing? Asri glared at Nera. The thief looked angry, her eyes glaring directly to Nera. Did this girl think she was better than her? Asri shrugged and put her hand on her headband, still eyeing Nera from the corner of her eyes. It wasn't the first time that someone gave that kind of response, still, she had to admit if it was really irritating to hear that.
"Hmmph...I always did my jobs alone, you know. At least what I did is better than someone who only hides behind her organization and family name...Oh wait...Farrot, I don't think I've heard that name," she snickered with a sly smile. Asri wouldn't back down nor she would allow Nera to mock her further.
Before she could say something worse than her previous statement, the people began to fill the room with their whispers. The thief noticed a change in atmoshphere too, like something was about to happen. Asri looked for whatever caused this. She then saw someone, a man with curly blue hair, entered the room. He and two guards walked through the middle of the crowd, splitting them into two groups while shouting orders to the other guards.
For a moment, Asri forgot her vexation toward Nera because that man stole her attention. There was one thing that had saved her several times while doing dangerous works, it was because she could tell how dangerous a person was only by meeting him once. "He is dangerous..." she muttered, frowning as she did. Asri accidentally met his glance, but she pretended to look away and went to join one of the two groups. "Come on, Nera."
The man with blue hair stood in the middle, between the two groups. He was carrying a big blade. The blade looked sharp and strong, it would definitely be able to cut a person into two pieces with only one swing. The room fell into silence for a few seconds. "Captain Bale has arrived!" A guard then shouted. The name sounded familiar, but Asri didn't remember when she heard it.

Nera grinned as she heard Asri began to poke fun at her name. The boring stories and small talk were now over, and a new round of arguing had emerged. And although the sly smile Asri gave irritated her a bit, Nera ultimately thought of it as a 'challenge accepted'.
She opened her mouth to counter Asri before the thief could add anything more but shut it when Asri looked away. Then it hit her, the change in the air, the absence of any noise. Surprisingly even the rowdy men near her had suddenly become silent. All their eyes seemed to be focused on one man, and that's where Nera looked.
"He is a rather bad host, though I am grateful that he's here to make things a bit more interesting..." Nera heard Asri say something, putting her face closer to hers.
"He is dangerous..."
Nera jumped back a little when Asri suddenly looked away from the man, following Asri when she called to her. "Well then, please lead me, miss 'Master Thief'."

"This girl is annoying..." Asri gritted her teeth. So Nera was trying to use sarcasm on her? Asri wondered where the Novice found the courage to do it. But she wouldn't do anything to her, or exactly, she couldn't. The thief still had a contract with Grey, and he actually wanted her to work together with Nera. Also, she couldn't just kill Nera here because that would invite attention, something she didn't need in this mission.
"Yeah, a dog should follow her master..." she said without looking at Nera. Asri hoped her counterattack was good enough, she wouldn't allow Nera have upper hand in their little battle. Not wasting time to think for another sharp words to say, she joined with the others, trying to get hidden between them. For some reason she couldn't explain, the thief wanted to play it safe. It seemed that man had given her some pressure, he did look strong and charismatic, it was probably the reason why Asri couldn't help but watching him with curious eyes.
The man named Captain Bale raised his hand, the guards fell silent and looked at him. People who was gathering in this place to join the rebel was also looking at him, waiting for the man say something. He made the crowd wait for a few seconds, seeming to study the people who would soon be his comrades in their battle for Bern freedom.
"For all of you...I wanted to thank you for gathering here. I see that there is a lot of people who hasn't given up to protect their country. Many of you might have realized, that some weak people of Bern has decided to let Ilia rule on them, forgetting their honor and pride as a citizen of Bern." Captain Bale began to speak, his tone was full of charisma and confindence. His physical feature also made some people respect him just from first look, he looked strong and capable of taking half of people gathered here in a duel, and triumphed over it. Asri did see him as a dangerous enemy, but it was probably very far from what called respect.
"But we are not. We can't let foreigners sitting in our throne and controlling our great kingdom. It was a disaster for us when they came and started to think that they would be able to make us their farm. They use our resources because they can't produce any. They are sucking our blood, they make our children their workers. How could we pretend not to see it?" he said.
"We believe, that one day, a hero will come and reclaim what actually belong to us! Until that day comes, we will never stop to fight, to protect what is belong us! To do that, we need more manpower, the brave men and women who are willing to shed blood and tear to drive those mercenaries out of our country."
Asri yawned as the man continued his speech. It was boring, for her. This matter about independence or whatever didn't interest her at all, she was not a Bernerse, after all. Well, she might be a Bernese by blood, but she would never be sure since she never knew her parent. Asri looked like a Lycian, but she might be an Etrurian, a Bernese, or a Sacaen. She never know for sure. "That man is wasting my time. At least his speech is still less boring than you," she whispered to Nera.

As boring as the speech was, Nera was curious to what this 'Captain Bale' was going to say next. It was not that what he was saying was particularly interesting, it was just that she wanted to see how stupid--at least she thought it was--his speech could get. Asri's insult had reached Nera, but she refused to counter as Bale was still talking. However, Asri's comment about the 'dog and master' had begun to pick at her--it was too good, and she had to say something. "Boring? I am just following the example my master set for me after all." She quickly turned around, changing the subject just as fast. "My my, he hasn't stopped yet?" Nera said, now peering at Bale. The way he carried himself annoyed her a bit. "He must have quite the ego, to want to hear himself speak this much nonsense."

Asri smirked. So Nera wasn't going to back down? Although she had expected this, she hoped the girl would shut up and let her concentrate to the event played in front of them. But this made the thief realize something, Nera wasn't a normal girl who lived a safe and peaceful life after all, she knew how to stand her ground against someone like Asri. But just how long they would be in each others throat? This mission required a good team work.
"My my, he hasn't stopped yet?"
"And are we going to let them do what they please? I will not. I choose to shed blood and fight, so I won't disgrace my country even further. We are not their pet!"
Nera was right, the man hadn't stopped his boring speech. Asri couldn't help but agree with her, only this once. "Gosh...I feel sleepy," she muttered. Her eyelids felt heavy now, she really meant it. Not because of lack of sleep, though, the thief was weak against boredom. She alwasy felt sleepy everytime she got bored.
"Anyway, Nera." Asri called her...umm...partner(?). She looked serious, she was still trying to remember the man's name. "Bale...General Bale...Does his name ring a bell for you? Somehow, I am sure I've heard that name somewhere..."

"Gosh...I feel sleepy,"
Her partner had finally caught her attention. Nera couldn't hold back a smile as she spotted boredom take its toll on Asri in the form of sleep. She quickly turned around, a small giggle escaping from her mouth. Her hand was thrown over her mouth in an effort to stop the sound of laughter from emerging. Nera's body shook from laughing, but not even a chuckle accompanied the action. There was a soft hissing however, coming from the passing of her breath through the openings between her fingers.
Nera turned back around when Asri had called her. Her hand was still spread over her mouth, unsure if she would be able to put on a serious face.
"Bale...General Bale...Does his name ring a bell for you? Somehow, I am sure I've heard that name somewhere..."
"N..No I don't seem to recall ever hearing that name." Nera said this with a chuckle. A serious face was impossible to put on now, possibly even for another couple minutes. "Honestly though, I wouldn't associate myself with such a boring person. Not just boring either--" A hand suddenly placed itself on Nera's shoulder. Something told her it was a signal to stop talking. Whether it was the hand that turned her or if she turned of her own will, she did not know, but she was then standing face to face with the owner of the hand.
As Nera had thought of all the others she had observed, this man appeared somewhat similar to the other people in the room. What was similar, she could not pinpoint. He was an older man, taller than her--as many people were--and seemed angry. That anger seemed to be the characteristic of him that stuck out the most. It didn't bother Nera in the least bit though. She raised her eyebrow, curious at what this man wanted in being so rough.
"Don't insult General Bale like that!" The man yelled at her. Everybody now turned their attention to the pair, even General Bale.
"My most sincere apologies..." Nera said passively with a bow. Still bent over, she tilted her head up. Her eyes showed that the apology was anything but genuine.

A problem. Something she didn't need right now. Asri could only sigh when the man, who looked really angry, yelled at Nera. "Did you need to shout like that?" she shot a deathly glare at the man. She couldn't let them to be the center of attention, not here, not now. It would be difficult if everyone became aware about their presence, even if their identities were still concealed from these people.
Asri hoped the crowd only looked at Nera, but her hope was shattered as she realized that she had gotten their gaze too. "Alright. Can I consider this as 'mission failed', huh?" she thought, feeling annoyed with this situation. With all the jobs she had done before, she knew too well that the best way to accomplished a mission like this was by not letting people know you existed. "Yes, this mission is challenging. Thank you..." she commented sarcastically in her mind.
"It might be safer if I stay silent and let Nera handle this situation, then see what will happen next..." As she decided to keep low profile, Asri watched with plain expression.
General Bale didn't look happy with the interuption. He wanted to finish his speech, it actually only needed a few minutes longer. But it seemed something had just happened, he wondered if it was important enough for shouting at two women. The general hoped it wasn't a small friction that would make his men look barbaric. Keeping his composure, he walked toward them
"What's going on?" he asked. His tone had some charisma that could some cowards run away and made people respect him.

Asri's glare caused the man to take a step back away from the two. He attempted to return the look, but with no success. Asri's glare was unnerved him and it showed on his face. "Did I need to shout? Of course!" The man was still yelling, though it was slightly quieter than when he first spoke.
Nera wanted to plant her hand on her face. Her arm began to swing up, stopping in the next second when remembered how much attention was already being brought to her because of this man. He did not seem to realize that what he was doing was brining shame to this 'General Bale'. This man is an idiot, Nera reconfirmed with herself. And Bale, though appearing somewhat intelligent, was not any better of a character.
The man took another step back and bumped into something. He turned around, seeing that he had bumped into someone. His legs immediately snapped together and his hand flew to his forhead in a salute upon seeing that he had bumped into Bale.
"What's going on?"
Bale's tone had an opposite effect on Nera. His tone agitated her, made her want to step up and stab him. From that one question, her respect for him had dropped another ten points. She wondered if Asri felt the same way. "Again, as I said to your subordinate, my most sincere apologies for all this noise. He must have thought my insults were directed towards you, but they were meant for my partner here." Nera pointed to Asri. She was in the motion of giving another bow, but instead leaned back. She raised her hands with the palms up near her shoulders and shook her head. "Or maybe he was trying to keep me quiet about the little snide comments he made about you. He really seemed to like to talk about how boring and slow you were making this meeting."
